Proper village pub that is the heartbeat of the community. OK, it's not The Ritz but the welcome and service is on a par.

Covid-19 Takeaway. We are all blown away by the amazing quality food we picked up. £10 each for a 3 course Sunday dinner with a choice of starters, meats and dessert. The food was hot and delicious, the meat cooked perfectly. There was so much food that we had to wait until later for the desserts which were also delicious. Out of all of the places we have tried during lockdown, this has been the best. If you're local to Brown Edge you're in for a treat. Best Sunday dinner in ages!

Interesting clientele most of which seemed to have been enjoying the beverages for several days. Everyone really friendly. Don't go for a meal after 6pm, that's when they stop serving food, and go back onto just drink! Working mans pub with live guitar 50s/60s music on Sunday night. Good local beer. Lots of kids running around in the public bar, and things all a bit out of hand. Should not stop you going there, it's really great fun for a while but not a whole evening, unless you are a local of course!

Great beer and food at really cheap prices! Dogs welcome in the bar which is where most of the locals get. The lounge gets locals too but this is where I would suggest visitors eat and drink

Can't express how grateful we are to the staff for opening up the pub and making us food on their day off just for us to remember our late Gramps who sadly passed away just before his birthday. We were still able to celebrate in his favourite pub. Thank you to Stacey, Amanda and Martin. Xx

Very disappointed. Took the family tonight for Fathers Day. Previously had nice food. However, Food was not very nice at all tonight. All the veg was undercooked. The steak was tough and beef fatty. Would not recommend.

My only issue with The Bush is that it is quite difficult to access in my wheelchair and there isn't an accessible toilet. That being said, when I have been there with my family the staff are always really helpful and they always make sure that we can get seating that suits our needs. The food is really nice and great value for money! The kids always find something they like and the chef is always happy to swap things round a little for my two fussy monsters! Our youngest has allergies but I always let them know when booking a table and they have always made her a meal that she both can, and will, eat! Martin & Amanda have been an absolute godsend to the place and always work really hard to offer a good variety of meals. As a family we all enjoy going and we would definitely go more often if only it was an easier task with young kids and my wheelchair.

Needed somewhere to go for a quick bit of lunch with my family (inc children) and decided to pop into the Holly Bush. The pub was very warm and welcoming, and had a good selection of drinks available. Menu is extensive with vegetarian options and 4-5 specials available every day. Food was freshly prepared and very tasty, can recommend the fish and chips! Prices were excellent, with the meal for 2 adults and 1 child totaling £14! Excellent, will definitely be returning!

We pop in the pub from time to time and are always made to feel welcome, all the locals are so friendly. I just wish they had Smirnoff or absolute vodka instead of house vodka...it burns a little ! We will pop back again - just hope my favourite drink is there .

Now I went here with my girlfriend the other Sunday. It's a lovely pub and very welcoming. We both had a Sunday lunch. I had beef and she had the turkey. Both were nice and came with veg and roast potatoes. My only gripe about it is it could've done with some mashed potatoes or even boiled potatoes as just two medium roast ones aren't very substantial.

Had a lovely fish and chip special last Friday, only cost £5 for a huge plate full. Also my two young girls had kids meals which rivalled the size of my own meal. Sausage and chips for one daughter and fish fingers, mash and beans for my youngest..they both cleared their plates which is something I've not seen either of them do in a long time! Really enjoyed seeing the log burners in use, in particular the new one in the bar, gives a lovely warm welcoming feel especially on a chilly day. Great selection of real ales, a local ale too, but it was especially nice seeing one from the purple moose brewery in Porthmadog as the Brewery is only a short distance from my house.

from 36 oz steaks to good old fish n chips the Hollybush Is fast gaining a good food rating among the locals. On my last visit i had fish chips and mushy peas with a salad garnish for only £5, having previously already tasted the superb Surf n turf two days before. i recommend anyone wanting a good hearty meal to give the place a visit as i suspect the more popular it gets a booking reservation will be required at peak times.

Their Vindaloo didn't disappoint! When you eat curry, you got to appreciate you're no longer in the league of just taste, but in the league of medication and remedy for the body. Staff seem genuine and the takeaway came in mostly foil containers so not so much plastic on my conscience to worry about. Ontop of that, they're having a 1/2 price week to commemorate their opening.

Stayed locally after a visit to Alton Towers and tried here for dinner. Staff were helpful polite and welcoming. Chose to ate in 'The Lodge', 2 adults and 2 kids. Pizza's and garlic bread were delicious, children catered for really well and the pub dog was lovely! Great atmosphere and would definitely return. A great hidden gem!

Food wasn’t cooked asked for a refund from the place I ordered from and got this back “All of our Restaurant Partners have their own recipes and cook in an individual style, so the taste, smell and portion size of a dish can vary depending on where you order it.” I’m honestly disgusted in the way my food arrived sausages half cooked and mushrooms that hadn’t even seen a frying pan in their life. Utterly disgusting the fact they think it’s acceptable to let food leave the restaurant the way it did! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Some call it fine dining ( we call it small portions). It’s not for us. We had to go elsewhere for a feed afterwards. Nice food but tiny portions. I did make a issue, yet the offer of a Baileys. Eeer. Not. Sorry won’t be visiting again
