Would not have food here again and would not recommend to anyone food was very cold and staff didn’t want to know when we complained

A very young staff clearly not trained in hospitality. Unable to find a lemon for a gin and tonic. Brought a meal to the table which we had not ordered and said ‘well it says this on the ticket. Empty mayonnaise bottle and when we asked for some more told that most of the bottles were empty! The food was passable but expensive. We were actually giving it a second chance after a previous disappointing evening but we wouldn’t eat here again. We used to love it here- it’s a shame.

Booked this place for a stag do of 25 men. The team were very helpful and catered to us brilliantly. Food was lovely and decently priced. Allowed my other half to go up a bit earlier and decorate the private room we booked and looked amazing.

Lovely setting and lovely staff food came really quick BUT WHAT IS THAT RED SH*T ON MY PLATE also the roast potatoes was like chewing chewbaccas left toe Although enjoyable afternoon out

This place is great. Food is spot on very tasty. Had a very very nice carvery (well plated roast from hotel) but was hot and delicious!! we are Locals and pop in regularly!

We visited for food .My wife went in and asked to have a tab so we could add drinks and maybe a sweet at the end.She was asked if we were hotel guests and when she said no they said they didn't open tabs for non guests . I find it strange that in this day and age when 99% of bars and restaurants open tabs for customers the hole in one prefers to live in the dark ages ! We had to order our drinks and food in advance which then detered us from ordering more drinks or a sweet as we would have to queue again . The food was great apart from the fact they brought our main course whilst we were still having our starters. All in all I score three mainly because the food was good but you have this wrong links hotel I would rethink your policy.

First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Bar and grill golf course and hotel fabulous place. The burger and chips were cooked to a great standard The staff were friendly and polite will return From deb and pip

Tries to use this bar 3 times and it was randomly closed 2/3 times in the morning without explanation. The brunch was nice one the time it was open but poor reliability wasted our time.

We called in for a drink , then ordered food , lasagna was really good as was the steak and ale Yorkshire pudding

We ordered coffee first while looking at the menu. After a while our friend noticed four mugs on the counter/bar. When he asked if they were our coffees, the barman said they were. Why didn’t he just tell us? Anyway, we ordered the food which wasn’t overly long In arriving. I had lasagne, the two men had the Yorkshire with ‘steak’ & veg, my friend had fish pie. I’d say my lasagne and the fish pie had been home made but I have doubt as to the Yorkshire puds! Hardly any meat really. Wouldn’t go back, sorry. Might try the hotel sometime. Lovely setting.

We ate here on Tuesday evening and it was fine. We invited friends to eat here with us to celebrate a birthday on Wednesday (we had our dog with us and it seemed like a good idea). They were a totally different restaurant the second night. If it is busy go somewhere else. Lovely staff but food inedible. Maybe a real Chef could help. The chef from the main hotel restaurant came over and gave instruction loudly but didn’t work. They gave us a free drink but we went to bed starving as the meals were not edible.

Came to visit with family for a birthday. Thanks to the limited menu we had no option but to order basic foods- burgers, ‘cod and fries’, chicken and chips. The food took 75minutes to arrive, was cold to the touch, with one dish completely forgotten about and only arriving upon the finishing of everyone’s meal. There is a clear mismanagement and lack of staff and we truly felt bad for the young waitresses struggling to meet the demand. Perhaps an on floor manager, a second chef or simply more waiters would prevent a restaurant full of hungry and fed up customers, faced with late, cold, and average food. No problem with the drinks though. Not happy. Would never recommend this place for food.

Would have rated 5* but the food was nearly an hour after we ordered ( one pizza, one burger, garlic bread and fries) now we wouldn’t have minded the wait if the food was up to scratch but the burger bun was black and the garlic bread was cremated. The pizza was really nice and so were the fires - I’m sure this is not the usual standard as it was very very busy and the staff were all doing amazingly well serving and clearing up. The manger Dylan was also serving drinks, food and clearing tables which was nice too see, he was also chatty and made you feel welcome. Marcus was also very helpful and sorted out burnt garlic bread with no problems. He was very understanding and even though it was busy he had the time to say hello and welcome us / check in through the night - we spent approximately 5 hours at hole in one- starting outside for just drink and then inside for food/ more drinks. Thank you for your assistance Marcus :) We would 100% come here again when visiting Cromer. The only disappointing factor was that in our hotel room we were shown a full menu for hole in one, on the website it shows a full menu but at the venue it was a reduced covid menu. The things we wanted we couldn’t have but was still happy with the offerings.

We are regulars at the hole in one whilst staying at our caravan. The staff are great and normally the sport on the many tv’s dotted around the bar. The food is freshly cooked and of a good standard. It is slightly over priced, but probably in line with the rising prices in Norfolk! We love it and will continue to be regulars between Easter and October.

Staying at the local motorhome site, this place was ideal for us, just a little walk down. Staff really helpful and nice to chat too. The food is not top restaurant, its good honest pub food and will cater for most. Every meal i had was tasty and served hot and in good time, the chefs worked hard in a little kitchen at the back (thank you) Good selection of beers and drinks, not a bad price. Overall couldn’t fault this place, thank you.

Was out for a lovely walk with the bubble...Popped in for a pint and a wee bit of a late lunch..live local not bern beforeWas surprised...lovely Staff were spot on...place covid clean Felt safe..that helped us to enjoy a few beers and some grub.Especially enjoyed the fish finger burger...Really attentive staff...We shall return

My husband and I visited today after looking for somewhere showing the football locally (Die Hard Spurs fans!) and have a bite to eat. Registering with track & trace was simple with the app and we got prime seats for the game. It was rather busy but we were well looked after, especially by the older gentlemen with the distinctive white hair.. (can’t remember his name!) We both had a home made pizza each which were fab, and had the a few of the Czech beer Staropramen. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, despite the football result letting us down.. looking forward to our next visit!x

Visited here for lunch today with the wife and kids. The food was really good quality all round but we were particularly impressed by the pizzas (proper oven etc, try the seafood pizza- superb) We were served by a great chap named Shaun and despite the covid restrictions he did a great job of looking after us, The amount of effort he put in made a huge difference to us and made the experience a good one.

We had food and drinks as a family group, it was a hot busy day and one meal was forgotten (otherwise it would have been 5 stars). Some of the staff have worked here a while now and their experience helped it to be a good experience. Track and trace is via the McKenzie group website, which is more secure than paper in a box. We sat outside and the tables were well spaced out. We have a local connection to the village so will be back. Thanks again.

We were on the campsite near the hole in one. Staff were friendly especially the guy with the top knot in his hair , such a hard worker. Drinks great , food delicious but my biggest concern is there is no trace in place for COVID what so ever. No names taken no cleaning of tables for next customer and no masks for staff. The toilets were an absolute disgrace bins over flowing not one bit of hand gel to be seen. Come on guys why are you not protecting your staff ?? And your customers I’m really surprised your getting away without having COVID standards in place .

friday 11th went for pizza which was amazing very friendly staff great service we will be back keep it up guys

Only one beer on tap. Nothing else on tap available. The barmaid was very disinterested and unhelpful and couldn’t wait to get away. We sat outside under the tent which was very dirty. The table hadn’t been cleaned and there was food and rubbish under the table. It was undercover but everyone there was smoking. I didn’t think this was allowed? Not a good experience. Social distancing non existent. ☹️☹️

A good place to relax after a round of golf. Friendly, reasonable Covid compliance, nice atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seats (good in August, less desirable as the year progresses) and a marquee for wet days. Food looked and smelt good but didn’t try it.

Went here for a quick meal and it was very nice indeed. Having dined at the links and didn’t have a good meal at all considering the price and surroundings, expected much more!!!! Hole in one is connected with the links but more informal, we was surprised at how nice the meal was at Hole in One. Hunters Chicken cooked perfectly, yes it is not a formal place at all but very relaxed. The young man that collects plates and brings meals out is very pleasant indeed. Very Enjoyable

We ate here one evening whilst staying in west Runton. You can’t book so I would advise going early. It was extremely busy as was part of the eat out to help out scheme. However we ordered and got our food reasonably quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our margherita pizzas and cheesy garlic bread

We used this place on evening of the 17th August. Ordered drinks and paid, then decided wanted some peanuts and was given a grumpy glare as the girl bar attendant had to take my card details I assume, very rude, clearly didnt want to be there. On sitting down it was clear that Covid guidelines were being totally ignored, no trace taken from me, clearing tables these were not wiped down let alone sprayed with antibac !! Food was brought to table, no face masks. Meal was acceptable. Went to the toilet well disgusting. Paper towel bin over flowing by a foot with towels on the ground around it, floor wet, with sprayed urine under urinals, splashed water around sinks... Then as I went out the door a sign on the door said these facilities were checked regurlarly ?? If your not happy seek a member of staff, I did and wasnt that interested. Couldnt leave quick enoughA good place for Covid 19 to spread I would suggest.

Not great! Firstly, I went to the bar twice to order food and drinks and at no stage did anyone ask us for trace details. I spotted a small sign on the second visit to bar to suggest customers log on to their website to fill in trace details. I think this is a cop out. At the very least staff should point this out to customers as it could easily go unnoticed. Toilets are poor - smelly and not very clean. Food was OK though. Would I go back....no.

We also dined on the 11th August and we’re also told that there would be a wait of 30 minutes before orders would be taken. We waited until 8pm and ordered only to be told that they were that busy and there would be a further wait of 90 minutes for food. The restaurant was quite obviously busy because they were offering the government deal. We along with other dinners waited and were eventually served excellent food. The threat of people posting bad reviews on trip advisor (I observed 2 threats this said evening)does nothing to help restaurants in the present climate. They all worked extremely hard this night and credit to all members of staff.

Visited with my family and would definitely recommend. Staff were lovely and the food was great, will definitely be returning.

The restaurant itself was nice but that’s where it ends the food very poor, we ordered starter which we never received the main was below standard burger and chips nothing special. Staff were pleasant but unsure of how to cope with questions and complaints

Found this Sports bar after a quick google search while in the area yesterday. Me and my partner both had drinks and shared a ham and pineapple pizza. They were visibly busy and we were told there would be a 45 minute delay on food, pizza arrived 15 minutes later and was superb! Lots of seating available inside and out and despite being busy they managed to control the flow extremely well. Would definitely recommend. We will be back for more of those fantastic pizzas.

Arrived with a family of 9 to be told all food orders have been stopped as they are busy.Advised they may start taking orders in about 30 minutes. Ordered a round of drinks only to see the people behind placing orders for food.Either they don't like visitors or are more than happy to throw away such large amounts of money , especially in this current climate.

Myself and my partner are holidaying in the area. We visited the village inn but, as it shut early, we wandered up to the hole in one and were really impressed. They were very busy and were low on stock due to the eat out to help out but they remained calm and kept a happy demeaned. Their sense of humour never wavered. Having previously worked in a bar myself I know how stressful and disheartening busy situations can be, especially with fussy customers! Your staff did their best to provide what customers needed and offer alternatives. People are quick to criticise in these situations but not praise so I want to let you know how impressed I am. I bet it felt like a hellish shift but you pulled it off!

Went today (26 July) to watch the football as it was the last day of the season. The football was on but that is about all, most of the tops were off so drink choice was poor. It was ridiculously hot, there were doors they could have opened that weren't and given the current virus you would think they would be encouraging the air flow. Didn't see anyone actively sanitising anything either. We left and went to the village Inn, it was soooooo much better.

Unassuming building hides a cosy golf club bar/grill next to large hotel - takeaway was easy to order online and good quality and value.

Went here for lunch and we were the only one’s in the restaurant. Ordered burger and chips. Burger was average but bun was stale, chips were cold soaked in old fat. I pointed out to the barman that the chips tasted awful and that the fat in the deep fat frier needed changing. He said sorry and carried on drying glasses. Thought he might have offered some compensation but that was not forthcoming. Great service!

came last night greeted by nobody had to find our own table (not hard only us in there the chef kept glancing across so we we4nt and asked if we could move 2 tables together once we did this we chose our food went to prder only to be told no we dont have most of that i then over hurd the chef say we have 2 serloins the waiter then carried on watching tv so i went over and asked did i hear the chef say there are 2 serloins yes he replied well that was a mistake they were owfull tastless over cooked poor quality same want for the burgers and stake and ale pie fish and chips we were going to leave when told we dont have most of that we should have never again this is the worst food ive ever been served i have never left a review before but this poor qualitry can not go un reported

We were staying at the Links hotel opposite and popped in for a drink and something to eat. The turkey and ham pie was huge, full of filling and the pastry was flaky and well-cooked. Drinks were reasonably priced as well and the bar is dog-friendly, which is always a bonus. We liked it so much we went in the following morning for breakfast and a pint (the rugby world cup final was on, we wouldn't normally be boozing at 9.00am!) to find the bar packed with like-minded people doing the same thing! Quite a few locals in as well, not just hotel guests, which is always a good sign.

On Friday 1st Nov we popped into The Hole in One for a quick lunch. The Sister in Law, Wife and myself. Great service, good choice of lunchtime food. Food lovely and hot - one Classic burger proper pattie good tomato and all - Fish finger great too - for me Turkey and Ham pie lots of filling plus pastry. All in all excellent service and food all for a reasonable price too. Thank you for providing a lunchtime haven.

I was staying in West Runton with family in a b&b and we needed somewhere for evening meals. This place was great, a good menu at reasonable prices and food was delicious. All the staff were really friendly with very good customer service which made an enjoyable evening with family even better.

IHave eaten many time the food is cooked fresh. Breakfast not so good this is cooked in the links hotel and brought over this leaves a lot to be desired. The sevice is good and value for money.

...we'd eaten a substantial meal on our journey to the adjacent Links Country Park Hotel. The hotel reception suggested we try the Hole in One and it proved very acceptable with Woodforde's Wherry on cask. It was a cheese and bacon burger for me and a chicken and cheese-topped jacket potato for she, both of which arrived piping hot and were delicious.Neither of us are sports fans but we watched England thrash Norway 3-0 in the Womens' World Cup, As I said above, not our usual kind of place but we enjoyed the experience and the service was good.

Disappointed is not the word. 1 hour and 30 mins later one meal returned two wrong orders and one meal still missing. Will not return £75 wasted!

Lovely little place I found whilst trying to watch F1 Great drinks, food looked good and Olly the bar manager was a most polite and helpful chap

Rather pleasant place with good view over 18th hole. Part of the links hotel and as such is the 19th hole for golfers. However many non golfers here, walkers with dogs, some from campsite and those staying locally. Barrel of Woodforde’s Wherry on bar. Mixture of armchairs and basic tables. Sky/Bt sport on screens. Varied menu from ciabatta,pizza and classics(curry, fish & chips, pie etc) at very reasonable prices. Good sized portions and well cooked food. During summer seems to be open till around 9pm so do evening meals .No Wifi though.

We went in for a drink and hubby watched the football. Nice place, drinks reasonable price. Didn’t eat but menu large and good value.

Arrived first night and did not want a full meal so in restaurant so had a delicious pizza here and watch end of football match. Although attached to hotel think locals use it as well. Sunday roast was just finishing when we arrived, looked and smelt good

Couple of pints and cheesy garlic bread was fine. Beer straight from the barrel very good. Disappointed that following filling up dog water bowl hands not washed. May go again.

Pizza is great but on our limited Experience I’d give the burgers etc a miss. Everything was over cooked chips are dry. It’s a bit of a shed but a port in a storm. It’s a sports bar but no volume for matches and odd screen positioning.

Stayed at the hotel which was great. The golf course was challenging and staff very friendly and helpful. Drink rather pricey

We played the golf course at West Runton and decided to stay for something to eat afterwards. We had to wait about an hour (and to be fair, they did tell us that when we ordered - so no marks off for that). The pizzas in particular were very nice (thin, crispy, stone-baked), as was the topped baked potato and salad. The chicken wings were nice, but the chips ordered with them were over cooked and a bit tasteless (hence the 4 stars only). However, for what it is, this restaurant was quite good.

I'd been told about this place by a friend and whilst not the obvious choice for Sunday lunch we had a really nice meal. Two kids had children's menu which were good sized portions this child had scampi from adults menu which was really nice, husband and eye had carvery beef and gammon beef was very good as was gammon with plenty roasties and veg, drinks also reasonable price. Would def go again

Stumbled across this place whilst out walking, had a chicken reggae sauce pizza to share. Delicious thin crispy base with generous toppings and cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed it sitting outside in the sun.

Food was nice and staff were very good , there was a lovely atmosphere very clean and tidy we where staying in the caravan and camping just up the road so not far and would definitely go back prices reasonable not expensive.

Nice location, quite untidy inside with serviettes on the floor etc. Had the food which was ok but nothing special.

Stayed at the neighbouring hotel and enjoyed a couple of nice home cooked meals here. Portion size is huge so if you want a decent home cooked blowout, here’s where to go. Amazing views of the golf course too x

Just across the road from us. 2x fish and chips takeaway £21 not the best but convenient. We won't be going again.

We have been here a couple of times in the last year. The first time they got an order wrong and missed one order off completely.

For a lovely lunch try this place, great atmosphere good food very relaxing, while watching the golfers. Loved it.

They do a good value carvery on a Sunday. The menu is quite comprehensive and will suit most tastes including children. There is live football on the t.v.'s and the main reason I was here. There is plenty of seating outside and is wonderful when the sun shines.

We have been using the hole in one bar for food since it first opened , it was really good value and always used the two for £12 menu , but went up use it recently and found out they had put the prices up and removed a lot of the choices , We won't be going there again as the choices are rubbish

went in for food sunday the 6th august had a pizza and a hole in one burger ,the pizza was very good as was the burger great nice setting, friendly staff

We were staying at the camp site adjacent, so met up with some friends for an 8.00 am breakfast and a few pints of San Miguel to watch the Lions play. Ordered the small full English breakfast. Service was good and staff polite even with a packed restaurant. Well cooked breakfast with no hard egg yolk and a decent flavoured sausage.

My husband and I were walking to the hole in one hoping to find a cheapish meal and knew from their website they did a few deals on two meals .we looked at the menu displayed at the back door and didn't see anything that appetising on the two for 14 deal .we then took a look at the main hotel restaurant menu which was displayed by the door there.this showed a menu for the hole in one .fish chips peas tartare sauce two for 12 quid ! Perfect .puzzled why it hadn't been listed on the hole in one bar .my husband went up to the bar to order this deal .only to be told that it wasnt valid anymore and that menu wasn't up to date yet it was still displayed on the main building !

We went at the weekend and we thought the food was excellent, we had pizza's and the girls were spoilt for choice on the kids menu and I had to stop one from eating as there was so much food on the plate and she didn't want to leave anything . The staff were very nice a lady gave the girls some colourings and a picture to colour. We will be going back this weekend and trying something else. Even the girls want to go back.

Only had a drink in here. It has a nice atmosphere. It has three screens for sport. The food that I saw being brought out did look tempting, especially the burgers. Nobody left much or made complaints so all seemed good. Service was also good.

Visited here for an evening meal with my husband and 2 children. It didn't get off to a very good start as 2 out of our 4 choices of meals weren't available! The chef also appeared to be on his own - taking the orders, getting the drinks, cooking and serving! We chose alternative meals from the menu, but when they arrived, the pizza was burnt and the fish meal was so over cooked that it was inedible. The chef clearly could not keep an eye on the cooking as well as doing everything else. When we complained, several staff then appeared to help in the restaurant, so hopefully no other customers had the same experience as us. But sadly, we will not be returning.

The location is great very picturesque, we had the combo for 2 for starters which was lovely, the full rack of ribs which was absolutely fabulous and the pizza which was also great, you are able to take away what you don't eat in a takeaway box, definitely worth the visit and the staff are very helpful

I used this place to have a lunch and the pizza I had was very good. The menu was more of a brunch type.

Lovely little dog friendly bar, great menu, reasonable prices. Friendly efficient service from a lovely young chap (lunch Monday 30th jan) hunters Chicken was lovely as was hubby's burger. Love the fact there was a pool table! Next time we are on the beach with the dogs here we will be back!

I enjoyed a light lunch here. I ordered a pizza here which was cooked while I waited in a proper pizza oven and it was a very nice thin based one.

A definite no if it comes to having food in there.. Very disappointing as the place itself looks not too bad at all. The cafe is probably only good for having a drink...Sorry guys, but you're far from perfection...

A very friendly place and they do great breakfast roll and Tea also nice beer and wine later in the day

had evening meal and breakfast there staff wonderful good price and very tastie, breakfast time we watched the golfers set off.

Disappointed. After kids swimming lessons in the hotel pool we came out very hungry so decided to try the food in here. I've used the bar after playing golf on a number of occasions but only for a pint and a snack. The kids meals were good. My wife and I had steak, both of us ordering medium rare. Both came very rare and full of gristle. £16 is too expensive for a meal when using cheap cuts of steak and 1" thick slice of corn is a bit of a joke really. Would return but only for drink and snacks.

Excellent food,friendly service just sat outside in the sun,glass of wine and a pint of Werry watching the 18th it was so relaxing.

Visited West Runton for a week and used the Hole in One quite few times for meals and drinks.
