From the moment we walked into this restaurant we were greeted by very friendly helpful staff. Karolina, Sam & Jennie, thank you for providing us with first class service! The restaurant was well presented and there was a great choice on the menu. Our food arrived promptly, presented well and was delicious. The staff were attentive throughout. We even returned the following day for breakfast which was also well cooked and delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Upmarket food at a very reasonable price. Well presented & tasty. Friendly waitress & clean throughout. I had the cod & Sue had the chicken. We completed with sweets that excelled our expectations. Very very nice! Highly recommended but you need to book to ensure a table on the night.

After having visited this hotel on many occasions our last visit was very disappointing, I can understand the pressure of covid 19 on all businesses and the restriction that are in place. The staff adhered to this in the dining room and the bar. My issues were with the actual state of the premises it is very dated now, and needs a good clean in the rooms and the communal areas. The rooms are nit being serviced during your stay so you make your own bed and collect towels and refreshments from reception, it would be a good idea if people are there for a while that you at least put some antibacterial wipes in the rooms so guests can wipe surfaces and the bathroom. Still charging full price!!

We saw a banner outside of the hotel advertising Tosh and Di singers on Saturday 8 June between 12-4pm and as it was a rainy day we had arranged for relatives to drive over to join us there for lunch etc We also wanted to check out the hotel for future stays. On entering the hotel there was no one on reception and the staff who were around completely ingored us. We sat down and my husband went to enquire about the entertainment. A young lady showed him where the function room was and where the hotel brochures were then went about her business. There was no one in the function room even though the entertainment was nearly due to start. At no time were we asked if we would like to order a drink or food etc. We were just left to sit there We sat and waited in reception area and eventually a woman came towards reception and smiled in our direction but did not approach so my husband went to ask her about the entertainment and was told that it was not starting until 1pm and would not be in the function room due to lack of interest even though the banner advertising the time etc was still up I had seen deals for the hotel on the internet and we went there thinking that we might book to stay at some point but this put us off completely The family who joined us have experience working in the hotel environment and could not believe the way we were treated We left and went to the Lacon Arms at Hemsby for lunch etc and the warm greeting and service there put this place to shame

When I did have an evening meal and being by the sea, I chose the fish and chips. Unfortunately I found the fish overcooked, slightly too dry. And the batter was a little hard in places. Chips were ok, and it was all hot.

It was recommended to us to visit your restaurant so a table was reserved for the 6 members of our group on Thursday 30th August 2018 Apart from the children's menu (my grandson is soon to be 10) the rest of use found the menu to be very restricted and the quality of the food was not what we had expected. He was the only one who enjoyed all their meal. The vegetables :- Fondant potatoes are not shaped like roast potatoes, they should be cylindrical and have a deeper flavour. The kale was wet and there was quite a lot of liquid left on the plate and serving dish. The stem had not been rmoved and it was rather al dente. The leeks were wet and there was quite a lot of liquid left on the plate and serving dish. All the vegetables were lacking seasoning and even adding salt and pepper didn't raise the vegetables to the 'heights' we expected. We were also surprised that the vegetables were also served with the sweet and sour dish. The sweet and sour pork had a 'back taste' as if it been over cooked and someone was hoping that the sauce would levitate it to the beautiful dish that it can be. The braised steak was alright but like all the main courses it lacked seasoning and the vegetables were too watery. The cod was cooked perfectly even if it was a rather flat piece of fish. It seemed unfair that the chocolate fondant dish was only for children. My daughter was rather jealous of her son having that dish and had hoped that the waitress said that adults couldn't have the same dish. The strawberry tart was so-so, the apple crumble was very sweet but all but me liked the ice cream. I had the cheese board and I found the cheese to be very hard and dry. The service was acceptable and it was good not to be asked regularly if everything was alright. For the cost of the meals we did not feel that we had had value for money. We did not make any comments at the end of the meal or before we left as I was then feeling unwell-nothing to do with the food. However this led to the most unpleasant part of the evening. Four of our group left and I needed the loo in a great hurry. Unfortunately we could not find the disabled loo and I had to enter the ordinary loos. My friend had to pull me up after I had used the loo and this is not an easy task as being physically disabled through a broken neck, osteoarthritis and damaged physical nerves the pain level became temporarily high. There were no signs for a disabled loo and we couldn't find anyone in a hurry to ask. With two of us using 4 wheeled walkers I should have asked when we first arrived where the disabled loo was to be found. Luckily the access routes were good access. A side point is that if we were staying at your hotel 2 of us would be unable to use you swimming pool due to lack of disabled access that we could see through the doors. Swimming is an event that is good for both of us disabled people.

As I was staying at the hotel and it was a blowy, cold night outside, I decided to eat in the restaurant. When the menu came, my first thoughts were "Oh". It was not a very varied menu with, unfortunately, limited, predictable fare on offer. I chose a (boring!) prawn cocktail to start, which was acceptable, with a pleasant sauce but too much lettuce. My main was a gammon steak, that was ok. but not much else, and the smallest egg that I have ever seen, on top! The vegetables were well cooked (al dente), but rather a boring choice served. I thought that for something different for desert, I would have the strawberry Eaton mess - oh dear! It was a strange concoction of cream, strawberry sauce and something that I wasn't sure about! There was no meringue to be found and no strawberries either. So, the food was a little underwhelming, but the waitress was very good and attentive, checking occasionally to see that everything was in order. It was a shame that as the hotel was so good, that it was let down somewhat by the food served up in the restaurant. I understand that with the adverse weather and some guest cancellations, that a full menu may not have been available, but this experience did little to promote the hotel - great shame.

Family visit to celebrate a birthday and enjoy afternoon tea. Good selection of sandwiches: smoked salmon, cheese, ham, egg, cream cheese and cucumber. Accompanied by clotted cream and jam scones, shortbread biscuits and chocolates. Big pot of tea. All very filling and well presented. Dining area provided a pleasant atmosphere. Would return and would recommend.

I was staying in the area and had lunch here four times. The experience in terms of service and food was variable. With regards to service, there is an older waitress who needs more training and does not know the menu very well. She seemed very unsure of herself and had trouble recording our order, having to repeat ourselves several times. Answers to our reasonably basic questions about the menu were "I think so..." and that did not fill us with much confidence. The younger waitresses were very good, attentive and friendly - so something must be going well in terms of staff training. We were also given warm tap water with no ice on a hot, summer day. This was partly due to the high price of drinks - £3.10 for canned drinks and £5.75+ for a milkshake. The surf and turf burger was really good - I would recommend this, as the crayfish, pawns and burger were lovely with the sauce. This was consistently good. The gammon, egg, chips and peas was also yummy and good value. The meat was well-cooked, as were the chips. The haddock was really nice on one occasion, with light and crispy batter. But on another occasion the batter was hard and overcooked, accompanied by cold chips and peas.

We found this fantastic pub whilst staying at a nearby caravan park, and I'm so glad we did. The setting is wonderful beside the broads. Shame it was chucking it down whilst we were there. The service was impeccable. Staff were all very accommodating. The food was amazing. Large portions, so beware. We had no room for pudding. I had the chicken Caesar salad, amazing. My father plumped for the pie and he said he'd never seen such an array of veggies on his plate. Other dishes sampled included the scampi, and my son had a burger from the children's menu, said it was the best he'd ever eaten. Thoroughly recommend giving the Bell a try, you won't regret it.

I am a very regular, loyal Costa customer and cannot go without my lattes, but I visited this Costa whilst on breaks at Great Yarmouth where for quite a while my dog was allowed also but the last time I was in with my dog I was rather abruptly and in my opinion rudely told that dogs are no longer allowed. It was quite embarrassing and I left extremely dejected with my pooch. I am still a loyal Costa customer however, the experience has left me rather dishevelled…….
