Still servers the best steaks in North London. Family run business established 30 years ago. A good section of startersanin and desert. Good fish also available. Not ideal for vegetarians.

Nice cosy restaurant, takes you back in time. Waiters and waitresses smartly dressed and the service was great offering pepper and sauces. Unfortunately the steak is not halal but Kofte was But I got the salmon it was well cooked and potatoes were very good. Dessert and starter of prawn cocktail and black forest gateau was a blast from the past but very good.

Went for Sunday lunch and would definitely go again as the roast dinner's were lovely and very good value for money. Waitress, Rose, was very helpful as we're all the staff

Excellent steakhouse in Southgate Enfield. Very welcoming environment with excellent staff. Very varied menu with steaks as a staple but many other dishes also available. Not particularly cheap but really good food well presented. Wide wine list. Very comfortable environment and good ambience. Street parking easily available. Very highly recommended. Visited again and all the above still applies.

The Highland is a traditional restaurant with good old fashioned standards of service and lovely food. Could bring reminiscent memories for the more mature diner with peach Melba, banana splits and black forest gateau on the menu. It is an absolute gem and a wonderful dining experience 5 stars!

A restaurant who not only provide great quality food (the go to for fabulous quality steaks), and excellent service, but who retain all of those extras -proper tablecloths and serviettes, and proper service. We are never disappointed and the owner is friendly and attentive- would throughly recommend

The place is nice to go and eat. With a baby, you would think they would offer a baby chair not even sure if they do have one, three groups that came after us got served food before us, even the customers came to us asking if we had our food yet. Wine and water got split towards me that nothing can be done there. After waiting and all that, even the manager was apologising alot, was excepting some kind of discount or something. I will go there again just because of the food and feel bad for the manager

We went to celebrate a special occasion for us and we are so glad we did! All the food, especially veal with lemon was amazing and the service was exceptional. It is a local gem where families are loyal customers for generations

What a plateful! The fixed price Sunday roast, with all the trimmings, comes on an enormous oval plate. Don't have a starter or you will struggle to finish the main course. However there's a good choice of puddings if you still have room. Oh, this is one of the very rare restaurants that provides toothpicks.

Went in for a meal with my father & my brother. It was truly one of the greatest dinner’s I’ve ever had. I had the Baked Camembert, Angus Beef Burger with cheese & mashed potatoes on the side. The food was incredible. Truly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had & the mashed potatoes were so beautifully creamy & delicate. The wait staff were so incredibly attentive & made us feel very well looked after. The music was nice & soft & always felt like a soft undertone in the background & the decor & vibe of the restraursnt felt like a 5 star restaurant & made me feel very cared for. I recommend this place to anyone & everyone seeking a beautiful tasting meal with a nice relaxing atmosphere & staff whom truly do care about your experience.

It was my 1st time here and what a lovely restaurant to visit, they have top notch wines at very good prices and the food was top class they have food that you cannot get elsewhere like it's from the seventies which is good. I am so impressed I'm going back on new year's eve, well worth dropping by.

I love to support local businesses and The Highland Steakhouse never fails to disappoint. The owner is ever present and welcoming. I highly recommend my usuals, deep fried Camembert followed by chicken highland accompanied by freshly made chips, deep fried onions and courgettes, an absolute joy.

Quite a traditional steakhouse which if that's what you're looking for, this is a great restaurant to try. First of all it really looks the part and the service was absolutely fantastic. We did go at a quieter time but even so their approach with their customers is fantastic. Lovely staff! The steaks themselves are decent quality and very tasty. Cooked to the exact temperatures we ordered which needs to be recognised as not all steakhouses seem to be able to do this! My only suggestions for improvement, though would not reduce this rating, is for the veg to be cooked through and for the fat of the steaks to be rendered properly. Finally, good desserts and coffee as well. And prices overall seemed relatively reasonable which is a nice bonus all things considered. We will definitely be back.

Our family have been regular customers for well over 20 years. Going to the Highland is like visiting old friends and Shakhi and all the staff always make us feel so very welcome. Food and service is top notch, prices are reasonable, it's a very comfortable ambience and we can honestly say we've never had a bad meal there.

I've visited Highlands a few times before and each time we notice various discrepancies. I often attend with friends and we normally go for a meal before going out. Normally I go for a fillet or sirloin steak but always felt unsatisfied and hungry after. My friends usual get t-bone and for the past two times seem to get smaller and smaller. This time I decided to go for a t-bone so I wouldn't be as hungry but I can say I was disappointed with the size. We get veg and sauted potatoes as well but still feel the portions were lacking. We had dessert as well but and when the bill came we were shocked at the price which was equivalent of £90 each. We didn't drink a lot, only had a few beers and we managed to spend £50 on side plates. For the price we paid, we felt a little hard done especially for the size of the steaks and the portions.

The blend of Mediterranean dishes alongside some mouthwatering steaks was an absolute delight. However, the highlight for me had to be the dolmades; they were simply exquisite.

Irene and I have been enjoying the food here since 1984. 5 star. I have the same each time I visit, about once every 5-6 weeks. My favourite is Cordon Rue, 12oz Filet steak filled with Liver pate, Bacon on the top with two fried eggs. Sauté onions, Baked Beans (Heinz) and Chips, on the side. Back in the 80s I used to smuggle the Baked Beans in, now I just ask! My dessert is the Black Suspender (knickerbocker glory) This place is excellent for two or with friends. They always have a parking space for my Bentley. The overall restaurant 5 star Ide'F

Had an absolutely cracking Porterhouse steak here that you could easy add another £5/10 ontop of that if you decided to go to any pricier well-known steakhouses in London. Recommended. 👍🏼🥩

Great Service and food I would highly recommend!

This restaurant is a delight in all respects and we visit it whenever we are in Southgate wirh our son! The menu has a sixties flavour and has all our favourites...the atmoshere is peaceful and unhurried..but not lax in any way! Lovely restaurant..try it!

We went for my husbands birthday meal. It was absolutely delicious, Kid friendly and one of the best lamb chops I've ever had. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return!

Enjoyed a lovely pre Christmas family get together. Wasn't crowded, service was polite, engaging and sincere. Food was delightful, just starters and mains as everyone was too full for pudding. Will most definitely be eating here again.

Food tasteless VERY over priced for what you receive complete rip off

Everything was bad here . Outdated , tedious talking to the difficult waiter, no tea or coffee , waited ages for food. I was the only customer there . Waiter was bad mannered didn’t have any idea about customer service . I wouldn’t go back .

Poor steaks an amateur chef I guess doesn't know how to cook Poor experience. Disgusting spinach and mixed salad. We will never go back. Only one gentleman is trying hard to serve you well but that is pointless as the resource is weak. the waitresses were very rude and not interested. Despite how many times we called, they did nothing even though we complained about the food, so they shamelessly asked for a tip. This is how you understand that they are out of business. I do not suggest. bad place and very low energy…

We are regular customers of this restaurant, they insisted on the service fee, it was very bad, the waitresses were very rude, this behavior is not nice anyway, we always give our tip, the main dish we ate was cold.

Me and my family have been going to this restaurant for years. The owner is so lovely and always greets us when we come in. Food is always delicious and service is exceptional. Would recommend. P.s try the crispy onion side if you like onions they’re the best I’ve ever eaten.

Classic style designed restaurant with very delicious food made from specially selected ingredients.

Excellent place for steak. Lovely service we were there for my sons birthday and had my granddaughter with us so we got there early so it wasn't busy. The only down side was I couldn't have the mustard or the dressing as they both contained gluten as they were ready made. It's a shame because I did phone before hand to enquire about allergies and they said I would be fine. I feel they need to brush up on their allergy knowledge. But the food was really good my son had the t-bone steak and it was cooked to perfection. My granddaughter had the spaghetti bolognese she loved it, I had the sirloin which was lovely. I would definitely go there again

I was disappointed in this restaurant that I have been coming to for many years. The steaks we ate the day we came to celebrate my birthday had maggots. our day has been messed up, I don't even feel the need to write my other complaints.

Food was delicious and good size portions with amazing service. I would not say this was a family place purely due to cost, for adults its worth it but with young children or those that can be fusay with food i wouldnt risk the waste. Steaks beautifully cooked honestly couldn't fault the food. Restroom not used.

We have made a delicious treat to ourselves by coming here. Steak and house wine were amazing. All meat is coming from Scotland. The owner himself is also so friendly and caring. It was our first visit but we will be coming here for many times for sure

Visiting our favourite restaurant to celebrate a birthday. We all had fantastic time as usual we were not disappointed with the food we had veal in butter and lemon meunière, chicken kebabs and the vegetarian lasagna a few bottles of the white house wine finishing of with a birthday cake we bought in ourselves carried in by the lovely waiter and all the staff singing to the song Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder. Where to start? The service was outstanding from the moment I called to make a reservation to our way out the door. Such attention and friendliness. The meat was so perfectly cooked and freshly cut to order. Everything everyone had was the best or some of the best any of us had ever eaten. The prices were amazingly fair considering the quality of the experience and the perfection of the food. This will definitely be a stop we make every time we are in London, and I recommend you make it one too.

I absolutely love this place! We moved out of the area some time ago and we drive back especially to eat here for special occasions. A family run business who genuinely care for their customers. The service is always friendly and welcoming. The owner is always there, front of house greeting, without invading his customers. The food is great! I recommend the scampi provencale. The service is always very professional. The prices are what I would expect and are inline with other establishments in the area.

The Highland is a wonderful restaurant in Southgate selling outstanding fresh cuisine and I very strongly recommend it the food is really nice however the rice portions are very small though but lovely atmosphere.

What a gem. A lovely atmosphere, delicious food at a reasonable price. Courteous and helpful staff. We went in for Sunday lunch, all meals were lovely but my vegetarian meal was delicious and huge!

I went here with my wife as it was my Birthday and our Wedding anniversary, we were shown to our table & given the menu, the first thing I noticed was that the prices were exceptionally expensive but it was my Birthday & our anniversary so what the heck. I ordered the steak & my wife had 3 lamb chops, the vegetables were extra and needed cooking for a longer time as they were hard, we then had a couple of ice creams followed by 2 coffee's. The food was reasonable but nothing exceptional and when it came to paying the bill the amount was £76 this was Not worth the money & frankly I feel that it was a take on needless to say we will NOT be going back to be taken on again!!!

What a delicious dover sole I had. The salad was really fresh and the king prawns in olive oil and garlic sauce was impressively tasty. Toilets are immaculately clean, the owner is polite and attentive. Really fancy set up and service. Dont you love fine dining? Proper Napkins and crisp white table cloth ❤️ chateu neufe red was also a delight for my taste buds. It was a business dinner but will go back I think.

Had a delicious evening here for a Southgate Rotary Club Evening of fellowship. We were give a 3 course set menu with several choices of starter, main course and dessert. I had prawn cocktail, chicken chasseur and black forest gateaux (and several slices of crusty bread). My plates were clean enough to eat of after I'd finished! Not a morsel of food was left. I chose not to have a coffee because I literally had no space in me! The waitress was attentive and service great considering 25 people were all being fed at the same time. Worth a return!

Established 1971 & still going strong! The menu has barely changed from the 70s & it's all the better for it. Steak, veal, whitebait, prawn cocktail it's a greatest hits ensemble. Puts a smile on my face every time.

I went to the Highland Angus for lunch and had a very enjoyable meal. I had the egg mayonnaise and steak with chips and vegetables. It was all well presented and really tasty. The waiters are very attentive and go out of their way to serve. The restaurant has been there for a long time and has a very good reputation with the local residents of Southgate.

This was such an amazing experience. The service is incredibly attentive and the food was of an excellent quality. If you eat meat then it's a must visit.

A proper restaurant with a tempting menu from which they are serving delicious on site cooked food with stylish friendly service making you feel like a King ! This time I had the Arbroath mixed smoked fish followed by one of their signature dishes Veal in marsala wine and mushroom sauce, sautéed spinach and certainly the best sautéed potatoes in North London.

Visiting for the first time since the last lockdown the food was not good. The scampi was overdone and the vegetables lacked their former finesse. There is such a change am wondering whether they have a new chef.

My first steak since lockdown 2 was fantastic.

Food was alright but a little bit greasy and the presentation leaves a lot to be required. You feel a little bit like you've gone back in time in here, everything is very 70s - the menu, the decor and the service. It was very Fawlty Towers esque. So bad you had to laugh! A few of the members of staff were not wearing masks (or lanyards displaying an exemption) and the tables were not socially distanced well.

Very quirky and retro - decor as we used to see in the 50's and 60's but absolutely perfect for the venue. The food is good, not haute cuisine - but it's not intended to be. Prices are very reasonable and the staff and owner (also the maitre d') are lovely.
