As a vegetarian/vegan it’s often tricky to find something nice to eat, the cabbage was a bit tasteless and according to the menu was served with sweetcorn and kale, both of these may as well not have be there, too tiny to taste and for the cost there should have been more, I won’t be rushing back sadly, the server was lovely though.

Met up with friends for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Three pancakes with fruit, one with bacon. The food was hot, very tasty and presented well. The gentleman who served us was polite, jovial and very welcoming. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. We'll certainly be returning soon.

Went in for a date night with the wife. Food was fantastic. 100% recommend the bread board sharer and venison. The home made focaccia was amazing and we have never eaten venison as tasty as that before.

Poor quality main. Lamb shoulder tasty but turnips like bullets and lamb chop had to cut up by my daughter, it was so tough. I commented about it to the waiter who said, I quote, why didn’t you tell me earlier! I commented about the quality as I paid the £87 ! No discount offered! We shared a starter which was minute but tasty. My granddaughter’s meal was adequate and she was offered a free extra apple juice which was going begging. The waiters were bordering on being over familiar but I was given a lager/ beer taster before I ordered my drink which I appreciated. Noisy customers who never consider other diners? Fairly normal these days! Eating out should feel special? It didn’t. Will i revisit? Not sure. Pricey. Not good ambiance.

We had a great evening doing a cocktail lesson with Steve. He was very entertaining but informative too and was helpful with adapting things as we needed.

Not great from arrival, asked really nicely if we could move to a table away from the front door, we were right next to it so not very relaxing or private. Told no as they were fully booked, restaurant virtually empty! If I hadn’t been there with my elderly parents I would have left there and then. Food was very nice though but ambiance not great, couldn’t relax as constantly people walking past in and out of doors. Walk ins coming to door and being offered tables so clearly restaurant not fully booked at all and still virtually empty by the time we left! No idea why we couldn't have moved tables, no logical reason, there was only 3 of us. My parents felt staff were quite patronising to them. So so sad as been there regularly for over 2 years now, never experienced this before.

Thank you for making Father’s Day so special for my Dad! The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent, thoroughly recommend! All the staff are full of personality and are caring and attentive. The food was absolutely outstanding, great portions, so rich and full of flavour - we were gutted couldn’t fit in a dessert at the end. The lamb shoulder was so tender and practically melted on the fork. Will definitely be visiting again very soon! “The best roast I’ve ever had” tells you all you need to know!

Been going here for a while , its good quality food but its not cheap. When we got the bill they had put on service charge. This angers me beyond words as it makes you feel uncomfortable and ruins the experience due to greed and then having to tell them to take it off. They have the cheek to call it a gratuity, for what bringing out food you already paid a premium for. I will never return, my advice is get your hands out my pockets.

Well I didn't even get to go to this unreliable restaurant and I would never do after being let down on my birthday few hours before we went there. I booked in advance a table of 15 people got the email confirming and all that useless stuff to make them look professional but no one bothered to call me and apologise for the last minute cancellation instead I was doing the apologising to my 14 guests Don't bother with the hideaway there is plenty other reliable and good restaurants out there Maybe the should hide in shame in stead

We held a 60th birthday party there on Saturday evening. The management team are easy to deal with and deliver everything exactly as planned. The food was excellent and the service was fabulous. The venue is great for a party as there is plenty of space and it is light and airy. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Greeted with a lovely welcome and staff were attentive all evening. Menu choices were great and quality of produce showed. Presentation was excellent and I had the best espresso martini ever. It’s no wonder we’ve returned within a month. Loved the decor and atmosphere a lovely friendly vibe.

Absolutely horrendous! Server didn’t even come to service Us! Had to get up three times to ask her to come over! When we was finally served after 40 minutes today served us cheap Hovis bread which I could’ve made at home for £3 which cost me £15!!! Shocking! Look at the sandwich so bad don’t visit

We had a great family brunch, 10 of us, lots of different dishes ordered, all were enjoyed, full English and eggs florentine very good as we're the delicious waffles, attentive but relaxed and friendly service. Great food - the chef is to be commended for producing such amazing quality food. All 3 courses were absolutely delicious. The best prawn cocktail I have ever eaten. Fantastic Staff - Attentive, relaxed, friendly and funny; making the occasion even more memorable. The restaurant itself is visually stunning with a happy, calm atmosphere. It is really special. I have been 3 times now and it does not matter what time of day you visit, the whole experience is just gorgeous.

Great food, choice of drinks, atmosphere and service! This is the second time I have been here, they never fail to accommodate us, am very impressed, would definitely recommend!

I should start by saying we used the hideaway for my 30th birthday in 2021 and we’ve been since for an evening meal. Both times have been a good experience! This time however, very poor and very disappointing as we picked this for my partners 30th birthday over another restaurant. We arrived and were seated and in fairness was asked straight away for drink choices however we weren’t ready.. It started then, 15 minutes later no one had come to take our order so I went and asked them to come over. When we ordered we were asked if we were ordering from the Festive menu? No, because we weren’t given a festive menu so had no idea! My partner and I ordered the porchetta for our Sunday roast and this was no porchetta! It was cut as thin as cheap wafer thin ham, 2 tough slices of wafer thing ham. The crackling that should have been included, was not. I couldn’t tell them this as at no point did anyone come and ask if the food was ok! After we finished, we sat around for 35 minutes with empty plates waiting for a dessert menu, I tried to catch attention multiple times but no doing. Eventually had to get up AGAIN to be served. All in all a very poor experience that could have easily been avoided by basic customer service (if you asked I could have told you my meal was missing items, but I didn’t want to be nor should I, be getting up all the time to get you).

This was our second visit to this restaurant. We had a couple of issues first time around but thought we would give it another go. Unfortunately once again we left feeling a little disappointed. My wife ordered a G and T non alcoholic cocktail but this was unavailable so had to choose another option. Then we chose starters but the calamari was unavailable so I chose the mackerel but this too was unavailable so I left it. The duck main course was very nice. Overall an ok experience.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal for 4 . The service was amazing . We really enjoyed our food and overall we had a very good experience, would recommend a visit to other people .

Absolutely amazing food and spot on service. We were served by Anne, James and Steve and I couldn’t fault their service. They were very attentive and made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and brilliant quality and the cocktail choices were lovely! I recommend the Pornstar Martini! I can’t wait to visit again.

We came for Sunday lunch to celebrate my dad's 81st birthday. We were looking forward to a Sunday roast. Sadly the vegetables were cold, potatoes were quite solid and broccoli difficult to cut, which was a shame as the selection of veg was good. They were out of one of the choices for roast,our first choice wine and ginger ale. They wanted to clear the table before before we had all finished. A disappointing visit I'm afraid.

This isn’t my first time to The Hideaway and I will keep coming back as often as I can. The service is always impeccable, nothing is too much for the staff. Super friendly and welcoming! The food was amazing! Took myself out my comfort zone and had rabbit for starter which was absolutely stunning, then had the duck for main! Beautiful tasty dishes. Lovely food but the service and atmosphere is what makes this place special. We could hear the staff happily chatting to each other and laughing and then engaging with us, kitchen staff and front of house. They clearly are a great team. Bernie was fab, attentive and helpful.
