The Hide Coffee and Tea House in Tewkesbury

What a lovely cafe! We had what I presume is the house speciality Bobotie, it was delicious as were the South African Crunchie cake and the almond cookies to follow! Smashing coffees and interesting books to browse. With a background of South African accents from the kitchen. We’ll be back and won’t hesitate to recommend!

Met up with a friend for morning coffee and cake and very long catch up! It was busy but not too busy and we did not feel rushed to leave our table, despite staying an hour and a half. Cosy and friendly.

This has the best coffee and cakes in Tewkesbury. The flat whites are perfect and the new Basque cheesecake was divine. Staff are friendly and helpful. I adore this place.

What a fantastic independent coffee shop this is! We were a group of 5 seeking a spot for lunch and the team at The Hide couldn’t be more welcoming: they enabled us to book a table in advance and we enjoyed a lovely lunch from their specials menu…. They even allowed us to amend the order to ensure it was tailored to specific dietary needs. The highlight was the coffee, but the great service and tasty food was a close second! The Crazy Cat Ladies will come here again for sure!

This place is an absolute gem. Me and my family came for lunch and had the most delicious lunch, cake and coffee. The owners, and staff were so warm and friendly. We will definitely be back but we wish we were closer as we would most definitely be regulars. My one regret was not buying your recommended Chutney (I honestly forgot) I'm now kicking myself. Popped in for a brunch today and was really impressed. The owner was so friendly and I really liked the buzz in the cafe. I had a South African breakfast and took a piece of Persian Love cake home. Yum! We will be back to try more of the menu.

Divine food, great coffee. What more could you ask for? A place worth booking to make sure you can get in. I had the middle eastern breakfast and my partner has the south african breakfast. Both were beautifully presented and totally scrummy.

Superb, small cafe that provides the best roast beef ciabatta sandwich I've ever had. Tiny bit chilly but more than made up for by the owner's warmth and cheerfulness. Highly recommended for lunch snacks and cake.

Although I was only here for an afternoon coffee, the very pleasant staff treated me as if I was their best customer. This observation was re-enforced by the way that they interacted with the local customers. Nothing was too much trouble, and requests were always greeted with a warm smile. Had I stayed in Tewkesbury for longer than the one night, then I would have had hesitation in returning.

Adored our lemon and ginger cake, a huge slice each that was so soft with very light melt in your mouth buttercream. I loved my Rooibos cappuccino which I hadn’t heard of before leave alone had one. Hubby also loved his mocha with nice and strong coffee. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Whole cafe was very clean with a lovely atmosphere. Cake plates were on pretty tea plates.very good position on main shopping street. Very pretty Tudor style building with wooden inside giving a warmly atmosphere.

We stopped in for breakfast yesterday with our dog. The staff could not be any more welcoming or accommodating throughout our visit. The breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be back.

A real gem of a place. The staff are all super friendly, the coffee was exceptional and the range of food was interesting and excellent quality. The sort of place you wish was a short walk from home…!Whats even better is it’s dog friendly so no sitting outside (they have a couple of tables outside if you prefer!) if you don’t want to.

Although quite small there is a great selection of cakes and hot food, with a South African twist. The coffee was some of the best I have had, including London. Make sure you visit it since cafes like this deserve to be supported.
