The food is excellent, good quality and well presented. Service is friendly and quick, lovely place to grab a breakfast or lunch. The only thing is it could do with a bit of a makeover, quite plain inside, but good enough to have your food 😊

Popped in for a coffee before closing. We were made to feel very welcome. The coffee was good. Looking through the menu, I did wonder how they have so much variety available. But the muffins in the display were in a plastic multi pack of 3. So maybe the meal's aren't prepared there either. Parking available out front. Funny fish in the aquarium. It has a bit of a retro run down feel to it.

Lovely cafe, had breakfast there a few times very good value for money.

Probably as much food as what I would eat at an unlimited breakfast. 🙂

Great breakfast worth the £ spent

When travelling, we try to avoid motorway services for meals and instead find something fairly close to a junction for better value and a bit more “local flavour”. This cafe fitted the bill perfectly! It’s pretty straightforward, serving a mix of locals and builders The main picture is the English Breakfast No. 5 with a Small Breakfast lurking in the background. We really enjoyed both which were hot and well cooked. Very happy to recommend. The trip from J11a will take about 5 minutes and a bit of wiggling through the town but no worse than getting in and out of a service station. Parking is free and easy outside the cafe.

On the way home to Southampton, I popped in for breakfast, well worth the visit, absolutely banging. So nice. Big portions great value super nice chef . 100% worth a visit.

Great breakfast and a very large coffee

I'm a very regular customer here at this point, I probably visit cafe at the very least once a week, often twice even if it's just for a coffee. Seeing as it's been mentioned I'll start by saying the coffee here is some of my favourite I've ever had, much tastier than your usual greasy spoon cafe coffee. On a few occasions my lattes have had some amazing art in the foam too! Onto the food, I'm going to go through, to my knowledge, everything I've tried here. The breakfasts are always a great go to, I love them, especially their bacon, always properly cooked, none of this pink bacon with chewy fat, and for the price the portions are pretty good, it has got a tad more expensive lately but that's unfortunately unavoidable. The baguettes are also great, for a fiver you get half a baguette loaded with a generous amount of whatever you ask. For lunch, the burgers are always great, they're mostly just your typical quarter pounder you get from lots of places but the heap of fried onions underneath definitely improve the taste. The chicken strips are a personal favourite of mine mostly based on the crazy portion size you get, the food will be falling off your plate there's so much! The chicken burgers are also huge too, and I find them to be delicious every time I go. For dessert, you have to try their chocolate fudge cake, you not only get a generous wedge, but you can also get a "scoop" of ice cream with it (1 scoop means at least 5 in this place apparently!) And it's incredible. Their pancakes are great too, and absolutely massive. The one and only thing I would say could use a bit of work is the decor, but truthfully I really don't think that matters that much at all, you're going in and getting good food at a good price.

Below average food came to area to buy a car and wanted food whilst in area…regrettably chose this place :( Sausages are very cheap and taste like they have been cooked from frozen and they Forgot my black pudding and cut the toast long ways down the middle so you can’t make a butty with it. Quite a depressing experience if you’re used to eating half decent food, if you eat heavily processed frozen food every day then this place is probably a real treat. Unfortunately for me my taste buds are alive and I tasted every bit of this dreadful breakfast! The bottom of the barrel ingredients really do tell a tale of a run down cafe with no passion for food and ultimately no love for food. 24 quid for two breakfast that where worst than prison full English breakfasts on a Saturday morning!

Great food. Cooked fresh and reasonable prices.

I am not one to write a review, however, felt it absolutely necessary to tell everyone what a great place this is! We come every Saturday as a family for breakfast. The staff are friendly, know us by name and the food is exactly what you want from a café. We always receive a warm welcome and an excellent service and food. We came many years back just as a drop in, but now visit most weeks - my kids actually wake up on a Saturday and ask if we’re going to the café! I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. If you are looking for fancy decor, then this isn’t your place. However, if you’re looking for good food, a friendly service and a busy and bustling community café, then look no further. We will keep coming back!

A very nice "local"cafe with a very varied menu, including omelettes, a real favourite of mine, but a rare item on menus today. Cheerful staff. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Food was good, fast service, priced well.

The scooter boys were having breakfast, the cafe was busy and the food was spot on. Definitely one to visit again and again. Shame it's well over 100 miles away. But I'm sure we'll be down again to visit family and remember parents passed away. Thank you.

Good portion sizes cooked to order.

We needed to find lunch in the area and randomly selected the Café Royal. It was an excellent choice! The menu was full and varied, great value and the food delicious. The staff friendly and the place was spotless. I would certainly eat here again and, having visited Gloucester afterwards, worth popping in if visiting that city (only 15 mins from the centre).

Always a regular to get breakfast, don’t usually eat in as I live so close but staff are always friendly and breakfasts are amazing value.

My mum & her carer go here regularly; she loves the food and the staff at Cafe Royal and I am always told how much she enjoys visiting.

Had a large breakfast, everything was tasty and cooked perfectly. Coffee was excellent, had oat milk in a cappuccino. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

I work at a local industrial site to this café and we are undertaking a lot of work so have a number of contractors on site. We wanted to treat the team to some hot sandwiches so phoned the Café Royal and we were not disappointed!!! With only 18 hrs notice we ordered 140 bacon/sausage baps. The service was totally amazing and the staff are completely fantastic. What a lovely happy, polite bunch on staff members who were so happy to help us out. The baps were absolutely gorgeous and stuffed full of bacon and sausages, its rare to find a Café that puts 6 rashers of bacon in one sandwich! Its great as a large industrial site to have the opportunity to use a local business and hopefully give back to members of the community in a small way

Just happened to pop in for a coffee which turned out to be excellent. Staff and service very good as well, menu looks very good and value for money. I will definitely recommend this establishment to others and will definitely be back.

Good value cafe. Lovely breakfast apart from one plate having two chips one of which was large and not the sort you eat 🤣 Personally I would like thicker bread for the toast but that's a personal choice great value. Parking is a bit of an issue. The place could do with a paint job, but they were busy so most dont care and I would go back.

A solid four stars. A good cafe on the outskirts of Gloucester in the suburb of Brockworth, and one of a few cafes that serves the eastern side of the city. The staff were friendly, the service was good & despite being busy the food arrived in good time 👍. A breakfast baguette of bacon, sausage & black pudding was £5.30. Accompanied by a latté. The restaurant has plenty of tables, several different eating areas and it's not cramped by any means. It's very popular & was busy when I visited late morning on a Friday in November.

The best experience here. I've never felt so welcome in a restaurant as much as I felt it here. The whole staff is amazing. I not long come out of hospital and was very badly struggling to eat. They made me comfortable and told me not to worry and made me feel so happy. I will always come here for food. Great quality of food. Great prices. Amazing staff. I wish I could rate a higher star. If you haven't been here you definitely need to try it. Never had a bad experience here. Would 100% recommend.

My three friends and I ride bikes and stumbled across this cafe about two years ago. The staff are very polite and friendly. The sandwiches are extremely tasty, bacon cooked to perfection! We go most Sundays and I travel 72 miles to get there. We've tried many cafes but this one's hard to beat.

Outrageous!! Called in for breakfast this morning after reading reviews. Ordered breakfast then left after feeling unsafe. Customers not wearing masks when ordering from the counter. The member of staff wiping the tables wasn’t wearing a mask either. While we were there a group of workmen came in to order breakfast. None of them wearing masks.

Amazing food , I always get a full English from here absolutely lovely , cheap food which based on the quality of the food should be more expensive than it is. Friendly staff , the owner ( Jimmy ) takes it upon himself to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. Which I can assure you that you will. Would recommend to anyone passing by to stop by and pay just £6.95 for a genuine full English, again I can’t steer enough how nice the whole experience is in general.
