The Hercules in Lambeth

I have been to London several times. This is the best fish and chips I have ever!!! The staff was super friendly. The atmosphere was amazing. Definitely recommend five stars☆☆☆☆☆

Everything started out OK but after we placed our order for dessert, we only received 3 of 4. Although the provided place settings for 4 desserts, the 4th dessert never arrived. We inquired. Were told that they were busy in the kitchen and we would have to wait. After more time had elapsed they told us that they were out of that dessert but we could choose something else from the menu if we liked. Hopefully the restaurant reads this review and gets what is wrong with the service. First off, you could have told us immediately that you only had 3 portions of the dessert and giving us the option to share or select something else. Secondly, don't take so long to admit to your mistake/error. Thirdly give your customer a 'free dessert' for the mix up; after all they waited and the mistake was totally on you...Don't add insult to injury. Terrible; no class

Avoid! Riducolus portion and price! I have ordered Aubergine schnitzel as a main dish . It came 10 grams of a tiny slice of aubergine and 10 grams of fennel at cost of 16 pound! No one clean the table when you arrive .

Unico pro: ampia selezione di birre di altissima qualità. Cibo al di sotto della media con prezzi esagerati, le bistecche sembravano essere scaldate, non ho mai visto in vita mia chiedere la cottura delle bistecche e portarle scaldate... Servizio freddo e gravemente insufficiente.

Locale bello e dall'atmosfera tipicamente londinese. Personale accogliente e disponibile. Cibo davvero buono e lo abbiamo provato sia per colazione che per pranzo e per cena. In tutti i tre casi abbiamo mangiato bene ed anche nostra figlia, che è vegetariana, ha trovato la pietanza giusta per lei.

Piacevole pub che offre cucina tipicamente inglese. Fish and chips e zuppa del giorni deliziosi , per non parlare della varietà di tipi di città disponibili. Mi sono fatta consigliare da uno dei ragazzi dello staff con gran soddisfazione. Offre anche servizio tv per vedere le partite ! Molto comodo vicino alla fermata della metro di Lambeth

The salad was discusting, pasta without flavour, the fish tasted like plastic and burger had disgusting cheese. The schnizel was good though. Beer was’t served right but lemonade was good. The restaurant is loud and smels of fish. Some people may like though we did not. Service was mid and the waitres even spilled my lemonade into my fish. My recomendadion? Go to the Italian restaurant across rhe street.

We arrived in London on a Tuesday afternoon and decided to go to Hercules. We found the service and food was outstanding, We even considered going back another time during our trip. I would recommend.

Buon pub, non destinato ai turisti. Ottimo per una cena o un pranzo informali. Soli piatti della cucina britannica. Frequentato prevalentemente da giovani ha un'atmosfera rilassata. Bagno pulitissimo.

There were some good things about the beer and food but service wasn’t great and one of the beers a bit flat. What annoyed me most was taking a 15% service charge without even asking.

First, we ordered kids spaghetti, and we waited for quite a long time before the waiter told us they were out of that. Then a new waiting round, then they apologized for the delay. When we eventually got the food, (3 out of four), two of them were cold. The burger bread was dry a burger cold. Fries were good. The nachos was cold. And we never received the beef and pie. And the waiters never asked or noticed that. When we asked for the check, they hadn’t withdrawn that dish. We told them, and they did off course take it away and apologized. Nevertheless, not a goof experience and they could/should have taken away more from that bill.

Most terrible experience in UK ever, we were upstairs with a few colleagues. First we have been ask to pay upfront... They were afraid we won't pay the bill after having the Dinner. Although we propose them to keep one of our credit card, they did insist, and we did insist we won't pay upfront since we will probably drink more and need a single invoice. They came then with the food, starters and main courses at the same time. That's when things start to go wild... Not going into details, we end up leaving the pub with our glasses half empty and all the food on the table. Going in a place and not being happy is one thing, getting insulted is a completely different one. To avoid, or time for the Manager to seriously think about his staff

We came here for dinner on our first night in London: service was quick and friendly. When the food arrived we thought the portion sizes looked a bit small but actually it was perfect, and filled us up. We had cheeseburgers, chips, pork taco mini plate and mini pizzas. The cheeseburger was one of the best I’d ever tasted and the balance of patty, gherkin, cheese and sauce was spot on, and the chips were perfect: crunchy crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Heartily recommend.

Good atmosphere for drinks Food v tasty well presented but portions in both starters and mains waaaaaay too small. Not value for money AT ALL ! Staff super nice ,friendly and very effecient at taking drinks n food orders. Its just a pity the food portions are too small and prices too big😔

The food here is very underwhelming. I ordered a schnitzel and what I got can only be described as a miniature schnitzel. The side (some weird coleslaw thing) didn’t taste very nice. Overall, not that great. They deserve an award for the world’s smallest schnitzel.

We ordered cheeseburgers and not only the order came late but the burgers were simply not awesome. For 17 pounds you expect quite more.

We loved to come here, the Pub was near our room and served food longer than in usual pubs near city! Good beer and good food!

Stopped by for a burger and pint after a long day of traveling. Very cute pub and nice atmosphere. I know that I didn't order any "specialities" but my burger and chips (fries) were just average, nothing special. Service was friendly, attentive and prompt. Cider was good.

The food was great. First night in London and tried the fish and chips. Wow. The fish tasted great. Not greasy. Crisp light batter. The way you would want it. Same goes for the chips. Tried the smashed peas and to my surprise I ate them all. Good selection of beers to try too. The place is not large. It was crowded. Be comfortable sharing your table. Met a couple from Australia and a lady from Italy. All were great company.

In London for a business event and met up with friends here for some food and a drink as it was opposite our hotel. As I was late to arrive, the others had already eaten, so I was given the menu and my drink order taken as soon as I sat down. Great food served quickly with a cold pint of Guinness. Staff were young, friendly and the service on point. Only thing stopping this place getting full marks was that the prices are a little on the high side, but it is a decent pub and in the heart of London. Recommended.

Avoid. Service terrible. Was met at the bar with a 'Yo' and no other words. Not a single please or thank you or can I help you. Not the first time I've had bad service here. No interaction. Rude server. Have sadly had similar experiences here in the past. They clearly rely on getting away with bad service and bad attitude by being close to hotels so tourists know no better. As for the food ... No wonder people think Britain has bad food.

Great bar. First day in London and first experience trying official fish and chips. Great service and good meal!

We stopped for lunch on a Bank Holiday. We had a cheeseburger which came with fries and the Soy Nd sesame crispy pork which came with noodle salad. The food was well cooked and very tasty. It was nice to see the head chef's name on the menu.
