The Heneage Arms Community Pub in East Lindsey

Another amazing meal out at the Heneage Arms Hainton.local for us as just up the road . Menu change this week so it was nice to try different meals. Staff are so attentive always asking if everything ok. Need any drinks etc. Open fires always stocked up. Warm and friendly place.

Wow what a lovely Sunday lunch for Mother’s Day. 4 of us, 2 gluten free. Starters soup gf and prawn cocktail (gf) Beef for 3 of us and chicken for me. The meat was well cooked and delicious and the vegetables were cooked perfectly with cauliflower cheese and a medley of lots of different vegetables. Yorkshire puddings for all of us and stuffing (gf). Roast potatoes and super creamy mash. Gf gravy too. ( thank you Matt) Fantastic helpful and friendly staff. 2 or 3 gf desserts but couldn’t manage one !!

Friendly staff and efficient service. Table was reserved for 13:30 and despite arriving 30 minutes early, and the pub being full, we were duly walked to our waiting table. Food was of a high standard and everything was hot. Starter of chilli prawns was spicy and plentiful. Roast beef was cooked to perfection accompanied by an assortment of vegetables. I opted for the cheesecake with ice cream to finish, which gets 10/10 from me.

Ordered the extra large fish , but fish was not that large at all...disappointed tbh. Mentioned this to one of the staff, her reply " they are all the same size, we don't do extra large " Live and learn I guess

We had Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. The pub is a lovely, traditional country village pub and the staff are lovely. I was disappointed in the main course. Portion size was fine, but the mixed vegetables were so al dente that I couldn't eat them and the yorkshire pudding was half burned black,so I was confined to eating the meat and a couple of roast potatoes.

Had an amazing time celebrating a birthday with friends and family. Food was incredible, super cosy inside with all of the fires and the service was good too. Highly recommended.

We gratefully happened on The Heneage Arms on a weekend in Lincolnshire. It was a great find. The staff were obliging and friendly and the Sunday lunch was excellent - one of the best we've had in ages and great value for money. Portions were generous and the vegetables, in particularly, were cooked to perfection.

Though the staff where incredibly helpful and nice, we thought the food quality wasn't that great. It clearly wasn't that busy in the restaurant meaning they didn't put heating on and it was cold.

Stopped for a beer and sat outside. Good play area.

Happened apon this pub on our way back to Lincoln. Service was very good, not pushy but not slow either. Good selection of beers. Fabulous sized portions, good and hearty food. Thank you 🙏🏽

This is a great community ran pub in a beautiful location, we call here on the way home from the East Coast or Cadwell Park. We have always been pleased with both the food and the service. We have also with permission from the owners stayed overnight in the car park in our motor home when competing at Cadwell Park, however this was a few years ago now so I would recommend checking with the Pub in advance.

I had a steak did said I wanted it medium / well, but had to send it back cos was still bleeding. Had it back and it was still bleeding so I couldn't eat it and it make me ill.. NO REDUCE ON THE Price thou.. Not good

Bit of a disappointment with a steak. Under cooked, was cooked a little longer, but still undercooked. Wife felt ill after seeing the blood, so could not eat any more. Very slow production of the bill to pay. Syrup sponge was very strong oh ginger, to overpowering..

The fish and chips here is amazing. Three different sizes and the large is like a whale. Well worth a visit.

Only popped in for a quick pint but were met with enthusiasm and kindness. Dogs are welcome. Menu looked great, even though we didnt eat and the rear garden and entertainment area looked astonishing. Will be back for a less rushed visit!

Asian night speciala were all delicious. If you are in the area call in for good food and beer. Do check their opening times as they are a community pub

First time for us having moved to the area a couple of years ago. A really great find. A sensibly priced Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious. Beef and Pork was had by the four of us in the group and it was cooked really well clearly using quality ingredients. The accompanying veg were well cooked too. The staff helpful and friendly. Thank you, we really enjoyed it.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Roast beef tasty, tender and lots of it. Seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese served with a smile. Made to feel so welcome. Called in without booking. Not a problem. Will go back when we are next in the area.

Sunday roast is delish, dont be fooled by the lack of veg on your plate! when the veg comes out, its the perfect addition, and cauliflower cheese is yum. Deserts are tempting, and very filling.

Dinner was enjoyed by all. The pudding was massive. Really nice "local pub" atmosphere.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch here today. It was first class. The starter, a pork terrine was a substantial portion and most enjoyable. The main course pork and turkey were beautiful pieces of meat, with plenty of vegetables. The dessert, lemon posset was excellent and generous in portion size. The prices were very reasonable and the staff, volunteers, I understood, were lovely. Highly recommended!

A real gem. Great food, great service great atmosphere and you're never far away from a log fire or stove - every time you turn a corner there's another one! The menu has just been extended and there's something for everyone - though a lot people - my mum included - seem to go for the fish and chips - and with good reason: the Heneage does the best fish and chips around - and they're consistent. So that's my mum happy - and she is very, very particular about her haddock - as a veggie myself, I'm very happy with the choices: the honey baked goats cheese is delicious, they've added vegetable lasagne to the menu and I had that most recently: it comes with a separate side salad and a very generous pot of coleslaw that, basically, is like a second meal - and a delicious contrast to the lasagne - which is obviously homemade and very tasty. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble - they really care and want you to enjoy the experience. There is a good selection of starters, so far we've tried the breaded brie - which was just the right size portion before the main. If you have a starter and a main, you will probably struggle to fit a dessert in on top. The sticky toffee pudding is very tasty. I have to admit I struggled with one the more fruity puds - but then I am not a fan of dark berries - so personally I prefer the likes of the sticky toffee pudding - but that's just me - lots of people love the sharper berries. As a community pub it is popular with locals, but people make a point of travelling there for the food too and most importantly: the Heneage is Dog Friendly! There are plenty of separate dining areas for those without dogs - but dogs are welcome in the bar area. They only open Friday to Sunday - so for dining booking is advisable - but that said, we have popped in on the way home from Lincoln before and they have accommodated us. Basically if they can they will - but phone first to avoid disappointment. Oh, and I they do takeaways too. Bottom line: if you live close to the Heneage Arms you're going to be in there like a shot on Friday and let them do the cooking, if you live a bit further away like us, you are not going to be disappointed: it's well worth the trip - and once you've been you'll be looking forward to your next visit!

What a lovely place - a community pub with a community feel, in a pretty location. Staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. Good range of drinks. Very reasonable prices.

We’ve been here when it was a community pub. It is no longer a community pub and standards have fallen drastically. No gluten free. The gluten free policy is basically go without. Do not bother.

My family visited this pub twice while staying close by. The staff were lovely, the food was absolutely amazing and such a reasonable price and to top it off they were dog friendly. If we didn’t live two hours away we’d be regulars !

Traditional well established pub. Went for a BBQ/ beer festival plus charity event in the grounds. Plenty of parking and outside seating plus covered marquee.

Food is exceptional. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. You have to remember they are all volunteers and don't get paid for their time. All round it's a brilliant eaterie with a fully stocked bar. Highly recommended.

Had a grand weekend with Bikers at the pub. staff looked after us 100%, food was lovely and ale, was spot on. Been before and will be back again, not forgetting the music on the two nights.

I've been here a few times and have always had a great time. The staff here are all lovely and the place has a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and there are gluten free options available. I'd recommend the GF fish and chips to anyone visiting!

We had a recommendation from the B&B we are staying at and wasn't disappointed. The food was fresh home cooked and delicious. The volunteers who work behind the bar, front if house and in the kitchen do a fabulous job and are so friendly and inviting. So much so we returned tonight too.

The pub is run by volunteers who do an amazing job. The food is delicious (particularly the fish & chips). Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Excellent pub, really friendly, good clientele, great outdoor space. Only had food from the outdoor BBQ so can't comment too much in the food / menu but what I had was good quality and not expensive. Well worth five stars.

Our Bowls Club went here for our annual night out and were really pleased with the beer, food and service. We were really well looked after from the minute we arrived to when we left and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, very good portions, totally fresh and served with caring customer service attention. Could not recommend this establishment highly enough.

Very Very friendly. Open Friday and Saturday nights. Considering the location and its run by volunteers this countryside pub is amazing. Would give chain pubs a run for their money. Locally sourced meat, fish from Grimsby, very reasonably priced. Garden peas are done properly. Awesome. Recommended
