Lovely local spot. Nice menu options. Very cheerful and helpful service. We look forward to many more visits to this little gem of a restaurant.

Disgusting Behaviour from staff saying that I was intoxicated when I don't even drink they have delusional brains and the food wasn't fresh at all won't be coming back as it's a eyesore to look at

I had a cheese scone which was not fresh and smelled funny. My daughter had s chocolate cake which again had lost its moisture and was rather dry. Little place with a nice interior otherwise and good service. But the food was quite poor :(

We have visited this cafe many times for breakfast and lunch. We always receive a friendly service and drinks and food never takes very long, unless the cafe is full, which is understandable. It’s consistently good so this is why we return.

It was quite busy when we arrived but managed to find a table, the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent 👌

One complaint is- Devon is famous for scone, jam and cream. I visit Devon often but never have fresh cream. I've asked so many times. When I mentioned it a man asked me to ring next time I visit. So I will be there 18th August 19th, 20th. Please have some Rodders Cream. Summers is nearly over, not had a cream tea yet. So here's notice. Kind regards, Barbara Millard

The large breakfast we were told upon asking that it would consist of 2 of each breakfast items. As termed 'tomatoes' would and assured by the the waitress that we would receive 2 halves of a tomato. Upon serving to our table our breakfasts only 1 half of tomato. Specifically my breakfast had 2 different types of sausage ! Totally unacceptable. The 1 semi decent sausage on my plate as my friends 2 upon her plate where totally skin split, our fried eggs yolks were hard and the baked beans were dried out and finally the amount of mushrooms served was an insult ! £9.50 wasted. Overall slow, poor service 😢

First visit as I was in the area with a friend just walking, needed to get some lunch and happened upon The Heavy Tree Could see it was busy but had space so we found a table sat down. Table service great food great staff what more can one ask for. Highly recommend I will be going back for sure.

Lovely place. Went with a friend who is a regular. Felt really looked after. They knew our friend well and spoke to him using his first name. Food was great and very reasonably priced.

This is a lovely family-run cafe, which doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t. The food and coffee are very nice and reasonably priced, the menu has enough choice without being overwhelming. I’ve had the full English and omelet, both of which have been filling and flavoursome. Dogs are welcome and are made a fuss of, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. Don’t forget to take a slice of cake home when you leave!

Me and my partner david visited this café on a whim very accommodating staff good customer service and waiting times! tasty food my partner mentioned after we left how tasty the sausages! and for the price good quality we will definitely be back! 9/10

Plenty of lovely food and drink choices: Hubby had the Full English, which was beautifully cooked. I had a lovely, fresh Toasted Teacake which was served on a lovely wooden board. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We loved that customer's dogs can have their photo taken, then be displayed on a TV screen. We plan to make return visits, including at least one with our dog. 😍

A good cafe, but you do have to be patient. Service is good, but the wait for food or coffee can be long. Perhaps because of the small kitchen ?

Lovely little cafe that we have walked past many times but have never been in. Quite a surprise when you go inside, nicely decorated and furnished with a small bar area at the far end. We had a lovely lunch here, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Despite the table of 14 that had just been seated before us, our food arrived in good time. Would highly recommend the chicken club sandwich. Thanks for such good service - we will return!!

What a great place! Very busy but still extremely friendly. The staff go the extra mile to accommodate everyone. The toasted paininis had loads of fillings. If you choose a bacon filling you might want to ask them to trim the bacon, but they were delicious.

Excellent service and some great coffee. If you're in Heavitree it's well worth the visit

I love this handy, friendly bar. It reminds me of bars and cafes on holiday. Great food, friendly staff with a sunny aspect, serving everything from ice cream to alcohol to toasties it's a great unfussy addition to Fore Street.

I dont have anything negative I can say about this place. Quaint little cafe offering all the expected breakfast and lunch favourites. Great range of options including vegetarian choices. All the food was freshly prepared and tasty. I did not have any of the desserts but they had lots of options as well. Friendly staff. Not overpriced. I would definitely revisit and recommend.

Lovely relaxed, friendly, attentive service. Good food and reasonable prices. Having proper salt and pepper grinders on the tables easily takes it up to 5 stars for me!

I visited for the first time in December and I cannot wait to come back! I can highly recommend the vegetarian breakfast and don't be afraid to go large. The staff are so friendly and attentive and cater well for little ones (they even offered smaller cutlery for the 3 year old). The cafe is also dog friendly which is a bonus. The coffee is really lovely too, I'm looking forward to coming back with the dog!

Visited today for breakfast, the service and food were really really good, but we left absolutely stinking of fat as they have no extractor (or a very bad one) in the kitchen. The smell was so bad we had to go home to get changed and shower. We sat near the bar/counter and as we looked towards the door, you could literally see the room was full with a haze of fat! Having two windows open next to the door is not good enough. You really shouldn’t leave a restaurant/cafe stinking of fat. Such a shame as everyone else was excellent and if they address this one issue, we will happily return.

I missed eating here. I ate here pre pandemic period and hadnt gotten the chance to dine here since then. Now that its open again, im quite enjoying the full english breakfadt with the husband. ❤ Warm ambience, lovely staff, great food. ❤

I can't speak for the bar side of the things but it wasn't good for lunch. Burgers were really bad quality, tasteless and about 2 inches thick, chips were ok. Pepsi was 100% flat. Staff seemed to be flustered even though there were only 2 other tables to servez tables were about to fall apart. Lastly, food was expensive for the quality. Staff were friendly which is why it's not 1 star.

You really need to visit this little gem.My sister and I went from breakfast today we were very impressed.The smoked salmon , poached eggs on a muffing were amazing .Very pleasant staff who make you feel welcome nothing was to much trouble .Roll on next Saturday 👍

Popped in for a spot of lunch. The hummous and roasted red pepper panini was lush, as were the sweet potato fries! Didn't have a cake but took a pic instead! Will be back

Visited for the first time yesterday abs was pleasantly surprised. Welcome and service was Spot On and the menu varied and reasonably priced . They have managed to make so much of the space and the atmosphere is very relaxed. A little gem in a local community will be back.

Stumbled across this charming little place by accident, and so glad we did, the food was incredible, it was also so beautifully presented ! The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, would highly recommend, will definitely return.

Travelled from Cardiff, Ordered drinks had to wait 20mins for them, when we ordered food we were told 20min wait which we all agreed, we had to ask when the food was coming as we waited 1hr would not recommend this place.

I am 64 years old losing the use of my legs but still trying to walk. The staff of this amazing little gem in Heavitree Devon could not do more to help. Once I got settled on an open air table on there little forecourt, i ordered a full all day breakfast, coke. toast and jam. Ten mins later a fest turned up. Well all i can say it was one of the best breakfast I have had in years and I have had a few. The others around seem to be having a good time as well . And price wise the best. So So Good . Heavitree For Ever.

meals are always very good, coffee tasty, not limp !! varied menu and specials daily worth trying, home made cakes etc. They make an effort to please everyone, BUT,,,,,very small kitchen, only room for one so a very long wait time when busy, which is most days, which is a shame, about the wait I mean !! Its a very popular cafe with regulars, mostly local, We have been eating and drinking there every week for several months now. The only couple of draw backs are, the wait for meals,(doing their best) and the wait for actual ordering service at tables ,don't seem to have a system that works........even getting drinks served are an issue,. but we will keep going......

Table booked for 12.45 today to meet friends during lunch hour. At 1.45 had to ask for food to be packed up to take away. Clearly not enough staff on duty to cover this busy time.

Todo bien cocinado con guarnición de ensalada. Todo preparado a pedido, lo cual es bueno, pero significa que tienes que esperar un poco. Muy agradable personal amable. Volvería otra vez.

Food was great but when lad made a drink and there was a grey hair in my drink and my hair is red so i wont be returning but will let friends definitely know before them taking a swig out

the long-awaited chickenburger is a complete failure. a huge roll with a tiny frozen nugget (probably it caused time). the lager beer from the bottle was warm. Maybe you should only sell coffee if your food doesn't go well.

Popped in with my son and grandson for a quick coffee. He ordered a flat white for me and it was HUGE and horrible. Watery and milky and way over the 5/6 oz that a flat white should be. There were 3 sizes advertised ( which would have alerted me had I read that). I was obviously given large. When I took it back they said it was my son who’d ordered. Yes, but they didn’t mention any sizes to him. He asked for an espresso and got a double. He said it was the first time he’d never been asked if he wanted single or double. You can’t make a profit by giving everyone the more expensive option. As a local of over 40 years I’m sorry this isn’t a decent cafe.

Nice little place, right next to s Fantasticly atmospheric pub serving great food.With such close competition which is possibly why it has recently become "under New Management".Now the management and team are aiming at a slightly more apparent market and have not gone for fine food, or "art on a plate" presentation, which is good and certainly looks nice.Quality of foods are not lowered, and prices have become more reasonable.The new team have now put heads together, and aimed at a realistic endeavour.Chris P. Very Family friendly, yummy mixture of food from pasty’s to cakes. Large mixture of hot and cold drinks, Very light and airy and comfortable to sit and have conversations with family/friends. Staff very polite and helpful.
