lovely pub, i was served by ruby who friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend😊

Very helpful staff. Great for gluten free, as they have a separate menu showing all the gluten free dishes.

£15 for a disgusting microwave re-heated burger. Chips were cold. Onion rings had been cooked previously then re-heated in the fryer. Both me and my partner now feel ill straight after eating there. Would have have got a better quality burger from a fast food restaurant.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening food was 10/10 we had the mixed grill the meat was nice and juicy & the sea bass with new potatoes both were vary flavoursome. our server Ruby was polite and informative throughout our visit. We Will definitely return when in the area next.

The Feta we had was amazing! And the butter for the bread on the side wasn't rock solid. Our burgers were well done and our halloumi fries were perfect. The waiters could use a bit of work since we saw 3 sat down watching us wait at the till to pay from a corner booth near the kitchens doors. They had to be told to help us by the only guy behind the bar who was making up drinks and cleaning. It's anxiety inducing being stared at from across the pub, no less by the staff who clearly are waiting to see if the other guy will do the work they don't want to do. Also the server we had come to our table felt rather rude when taking our orders and bringing us our food.

Stopped in for lunch and we were really impressed with the menu. Food was tasty and served quickly. Staff were really nice and kept our drinks topped up.

I had a very frustrating experience at Pinhoe Hoard Pub. We ordered several items from the menu, but they were unavailable, and instead of honoring our original choices, we were forced to select different items. To make matters worse, the pub refused to refund the price difference between what we originally ordered and what we ended up getting. The food we did receive was underwhelming—bland and poorly prepared. The lack of proper customer service and the overall disappointment with the food make it unlikely that I'll be returning.

Food was awful. Creamy mash was hard, beans were stringy, pie was hot but covered in thick rich gravy, not in a jug, single half glazed carrot was really tough. Check back did happen to one member of the group. Didn't want to make a fuss. Won't return

Good atmosphere, prompt service, very friendly staff but long wait for food and when it arrived it wasn't great.

Pub dirty . Bar sticky . Unfriendly staff . Food awful . Wouldn’t step foot in this place again for food definitely. Left most of my food and not one staff member asked if we or are food was ok ! Why ? Because they would know the reply . Sad as such a lovely location but the place is not being looked after .

Have visited on a few occasions as it's local to us. Stopped in for something to eat after work recently and the food was great. Gluten-free cheese and bacon burger was the best I've had in ages and the battered fish portion the Mrs had was huge. Drinks are reasonably priced and we were well looked after by the lovely Lauren. There is a nice kids play area and plenty of seating outside too.

Lauren was extremely polite and helpful during our experience at the Pinhoe hoard!! Would highly recommend!!

Amazing service provider by Lauren, I have never seen Lauren stay still for a second. Always adhering to customers needs or clearing areas for the next customer. She always recommends a good choice for food when we’re indecisive. And no matter how busy the establishment is lauren always remains calm and professional. All the reasons why the Hoard is my primary choice to eat out or have a drink. Plus my daughter loves playing in the garden.

I was taken care of by lovely servers Ella and Scarlett who were kind and attentive to my needs. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was clean and tidy!! Definitely coming back soon!

We just love coming to dinner at Pinhoe Hoard! We celebrate our anniversary there, birthdays, or have casual dinners with friends and family. The atmosphere is always lovely and welcoming. The staff always goes above and beyond, they are chatty, presentable, helpful, and they always have a smile on their faces. The background music adds a lot to the experience. I always receive nice vouchers or discounts in my mailbox. This place offers top-notch customer service. Thank you for being in Exeter and so close to my house!

Went for lunch on Father's day and very pleasantly surprised. New menu with very nice food compared to my last visit 6 months ago hence my editing my last review. Roast dinners were very tasty and a decent size and other meals were good too. Steak was cooked really well. Good service and friendly helpful staff.

Good fresh food, great service and nice atmosphere

Called for an evening meal with wife and daughter on evening of 20th June. Daughter had scampi and chips which she rated as one star. Wife had lasagna with garlic bread. Lasagna was completely tasteless and the garlic bead uncooked in the middle. I had a pie, spoonful of mash, a little sliced carrot and a small amount of green beans. The pie, which resembled a scone, had the weirdest taste, vaguely of chicken but not the vegetarian one that I had ordered. The three of us agreed that it was probably the most horrible meal that we had ever eaten. No member of the staff approached us, we had paid on ordering, so we quickly decided to take our leave and go, obviously never to return. It is simply not possible that any sort of chef was involved in the preparation of this dross; it had to be ‘prepared’ way in advance and bunged into a microwave. What an incredible waste of money.

Waited 10 mins with no staff to seat us at a pre booked table. When we were finally shown our table, we were advised that it was table service and Ella would be with us shortly...... We waited 45 mins!!! not one member of staff arrived to take our order let alone Ella. Our starters finally arrived... then our mains arrived befor we had finished eating out starters!?! Staff..... appeared to be 3 of them for the entire bar and restaurant...... looked a mess in casual dirty clothes. No apology!!! Awful experience yet again!!!

We love to eat out and have been to many pubs/restaurants around Exeter and honestly the Pinhoe Hoard has become our favourite. We always get the best service, the food is absolutely amazing, you have to try the mixed grill! The kids love playing here and the dogs love to come and socialise… Honestly couldn’t ask for a better pub!

Well what can I say have eaten at multiple Marston restaurants in different counties and safe to say this is by far the worst in terms of service and also food quality was upto there normal standards manager gave us 30% of bill and seemed to do this begrudgingly. Will nit be going again and will be a escalation to head office.

I had booked a table for 12 for a bell ringers meeting but on the day we had 18 turn up but James was great he just increased the table size to accommodate and all the food came out together which was a miracle as the 6 unexpected turned up in one's and 2 at slightly different times. every body was very pleased with the service and the efficency of all the staff. thank you

Enjoyed another great evening in The Hoard, our meals were excellent. We were served and looked after by Ruby who was excellent, she was very friendly attentive, and we were never kept waiting for any length of time on what was a busy evening.

Really lovely light and airy pub. We passed here by chance and as it’s not far away we thought we would check it out. Impressed with the menu and the choices available. The waitress we had was lovely and friendly. Both food and drink choices were plentiful.

I don’t normally write reviews but I just wanted to make people aware that this place is a complete rip off for what it is. First of all it’s over £6 for a pint. You wouldn’t even pay that much at popular pubs and bars in the city centre and this place is outside of town. What was even more annoying is that I paid £5 for such a small portion of cheesey chips. There was about 12 chips in the bowl, hardly any cheese and it took roughly 45 mins to arrive at the table. When I asked the server whether this was normal, he completely agreed and said it’s a terrible portion size 😂 Whoever’s running the show should take note and make some changes!

Fantastic gem of a pub!! First visit here for my wife and she loved the food! She had Calamari and soup which was delicious! I had the burger which was also super delicious. But what made our visit this weekend so great was the excellent and friendly service from both Rob and Ella, from the moment we walked in, to when we left after our lunch they were super!! Thank you both. I cannot recommend The Pinhoe Hoard enough, We will be back!! :)

Called in for lunch staff very friendly but sadly the Hunters Chicken was very disappointing very small portion like a children’s meal & the chicken was dry hardly any BBQ sauce it was like it had been warmed up in a microwave. This definitely wasn’t worth £14.79.

Received well, taken to our table. 1st order for drinks taken andcompleted quickly. Given time to view menu, order taken and completed in reasonable time. Staff excellent, courteous and efficient. Meals were excellent too !

I bar was raised up one more time as the food and the service was espectacular, value for money, the quality and taste of the of the food was superb, the service amazing helpful and knowledgeable about their food, nice cocktails and delicious desert… One of my favorite places to go .. Espectacular, friendly, delicious and tradicional pub with a 5 start ratting service and food .. very happy customer 😊😊😊

It was so clean, ordered on time, staff was helpful polite, and considerate. A family-oriented pub with people of character hanging around. such a lovely and safe environment and a little gem in Extere. Food quality was also very good. we will go again. It is higher than pub food and at the level of a proper restaurant.

Visited last night for dinner as we'd had a 30% voucher. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was great. My husband had a ribeye and he said it was one of the best steaks he'd had out in a long time. I tried a few cocktails and they were fantastic. All in all a great night and we will 100% be back!
