I went to this pub recently I had the double bacon cheeseburger which was delicious!! Myla was my waitress for the afternoon I received impeccable service she was very friendly very approachable and professional. I would 100% recommend this pub to anyone.

We visited here today to watch the races, Lidia was very kind and helpful and made sure to check on us throughout the afternoon even though it was busy. We will definitely be visiting again after the service we received and she is a real credit to the team.

Great ambience, delicious beer, nice service. We didn't eat anything but there is a good selection of food. It's quaintly cozy and just like you would imagine a bar in the UK to be.

Absolutely amazing experience came to Sheffield to watch Paul smith but came here for food beforehand and omg it was amazing no disappointment what so ever the food was out of this world and the drinks and Amazing service

What a fantastic venue, we visited here with the family (18 in total) in mid January and spent a good 3-4 hours in here ahead of going to the theatre, Head of Steam must be a favourite with many as was busy and had a great atmosphere. There was an extensive range of drinks, including a great selection of beers, stouts and ales. The menu was right up my street, the food was lovely and I definitely recommend the bacon cheese burger, a special thank to Myla who was very attentive with exceptional service

I bought a drink and left it on a table, went to the toilet and when i returned my drink had vanished , spoke to the barmaid who said “okay what do you want me to do about it” made me a new one and then wanted me to pay again. I reluctantly did.

When visiting Birmingham for work which is multiple times per month, this is a must place to visit. The selection of drinks is fantastic, great atmosphere and I've met some great staff members. Here we are, Jan 2025 and another great service, well done Joe! Disnt just serve me any old drink, told him what i liked and he let me try a couple, now that's customer service. It's reasons like this I'm a regular, something other companies can learn from. Thanks joe!

Went to Head of Steam for an impromptu catch up with my friend last week. Rob, the barman, was really helpful and friendly - I had a pink G&T (he charged me a single as he’d accidentally poured a double, but gave me the choice of starting afresh with new drink or having the double, I chose the latter as I hate waste, oh well! 😆) and he let my friend (also called Rob 😂) try samples as he wasn’t sure which stout to get. After sampling a couple and having a chat with Rob the barman, Rob my friend went for the gingerbread stout and really enjoyed it. He’d never been to the HoS before either and liked the vibes, I usually go with work - it’s really good for unpretentious, casual but buzzing atmosphere (I’m usually at the nice cocktail bars 😅). The live music on that night was good too! I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t try that, maybe next time. Thanks Rob and HoS 🙏🏼 we will be back for a drink again soon 🙂.

Excellent friendly service from Lydia. We only came in for a drink- a gingerbread stout for me and a (large😁) coffee for my wife. Was offered a small taster first, the ruby IPA wasn’t for me, before trying the stout which was excellent. Although the ale was good this didn’t prompt this review….. it was the excellent service from Lydia that did. Thank you and please pass it on.

I did not eat there on this visit but have a few times before and the food was of great quality. I had not been in awhile but on my last couple of visits ale choice has improved when it was already good. Even when busy, staff are spot on.

Had Xmas celebrations, buffet was worth the money. Live music as well.

The food was so good and my server Alex was so nice so I had a great experience. My food was good, came on time, and I was always being checked in on by my server.

Popped in for a few drinks when we were in the area, served by Alex who was very friendly and fast with the service. Toilets were satisfactory and our table was clean when we arrived. Very happy with the service provided, would come again!

£6.90 for a guinness. Too much head, wet glass. Nice atmosphere, but its maybe thats the finance provided from ripping people off.

The price of the beer is ridiculous, over £7 a pint, and they wonder why pubs are closing at an alarming rate. Safe to say only time I will going there.

Me and my Family had great service from Myla who was very polite and attentive with us. The pubs atmosphere is enjoyable and cool! I would definitely recommend this place to others as we very much enjoyed our visit!

Good, reasonably priced house beers

It was not a great experience for me. I made a reservation and paid a deposit for it, which wasn't deducted from the bill. When we got there, we were told we had 20 mins to order because the kitchen was closing early, so we quickly made our choices. We had to pay on the spot before the food arrives, if you want to pay at the end, you must leave your bank card with the bar staff, which I'm not comfortable with. Ladies' toilets were horrible, out of 5 stalls, 2 were out of order, one had no lock, and another had no toilet paper nor a toilet paper holder. The food did arrive promptly, but it was OK at best, nothing you can't get anywhere else. Overall, I can't recommend the place when there are so many other and better places in that area of Birmingham. Pity, we really looked forward to it, but it didn't live up to its own hype.

Kyle was a fantastic and friendly sever. He was attentive and hard working. The vegan cheeseburger was very tasty as were the side of chips :)

Popped in tonight for a quiet pint with family - pub was quiet - lots of choice and the staff were very patient with us while we perused the huge beer selection! Unfortunately the beer we chose was from the bottom of the barrel and Kyle behind the bar was happy to replace it for us - he was really friendly and helpful- will definitely come back next time I’m in Birmingham!

Nice venue, great mix of beers, but the food wasn't great at all. We were in a group of 15 and had preordered. Staff very nice though. Maybe just an off day for the food as others rave about it

great range of drinks available both on draught and in cans & bottles. 3 for 2 on fridge stock and four 1/3s for £10 are absolute bargain deals, especially in the city centre. was recommended multiple options by bernie who really knew her stuff and made sure i got beers i liked. the nacho burger is also incredible if you're staying for food!

We went here to watch the Euros final, staff were so friendly and helpful and security were really quick to help us when a man started acting strange towards us, can’t thank them enough!!! Made us feel so comfortable and welcome

Nice bar, nice staff, some beer on tap VERY expensive, but they aren't cheap elsewhere either, so just to be aware of when ordering.

Decent bar with a lot of choice - Just needs more variety of cocktails and better quality (mojito doesn’t even use real sugar - and it needs to be brown if you do).

We did a group booking here, the staff were amazing, flexible and organised. They catered well to a group booking of 45 people and provided excellent service

Good busy bar with lots of different draft beers to choose from. We had pre-booked, which would be advisable as they were very busy. The food was OK, nothing special but everyone enjoyed their meals. Its very much basic burgers, fries and pizzas but it was all cooked will and as expected. The pricing of the food is good value and would certainly recommend if you want a cheap burger.

Pretty typical place really. Good atmosphere if you’re into sports. Food is okay. Tables & chairs are not overly comfortable.

I really enjoyed my craft ale here, the bartenders are well informed and provide a warm service with knowledge and character. The general vibe was a bit quieter, but that was a Friday afternoon and on the plus side allowed me to do some reading (book worm). I'd definitely recommend for local craft ale lovers, and for a wide range for drinks overall.

We visited on Thursday 23/5/24, on a flying visit to Birmingham. The pub wasn't crowded, had plenty of staff on hand,and was very clean. Zac,our server was very helpful and knowledgeable, and navigated us through the plethora of draught and bottled beers on hand.The prices are on par with major city centre pubs.I cannot comment on food as we didn't eat.All in all a really nice place to spend a couple of hours, we will definitely call again. Top marks , and a big shout out to Zac.

The untapped app is invaluable for choosing tap beer as there's no bar list. Staff always helpful. Today the bar lady checked with her colleague that my beer was perfect, as it was a bit cloudy. Turned out fine, so impressed with that.
