The Hayfield Fishing & Shooting Lodge in Doncaster

The most basic concept of the hospitality is to be...hospitable, whilst delivering a good service to customers. Sadly, staff on duty when we visited clearly forgot this. The gruff guy at the bar is not cut for this job. Whatever happened to the Hayfield? We've had some good experiences there in the past, but our last two visits have be spoilt by staff negative behaviour, poor service and mediocre food and drinks (yes, even the drinks). We won't be back this time.

Just enjoyed another fabulous carvery at the Hayfield pub and restaurant The team are friendly and accommodating and there is a great ambience! The food is delicious and plenty of choice and would highly recommend! Cant wait for next Sunday...

Tried the takeaway carvery for the first time today after it being recommend by a close friend. Wow ! Absolutely gorgeous. Ordered over the phone for me to collect as I was already in the area. When I went to collect the food was already in a bag,, gravy in separate containers and Yorkshire puddings in a bag. When I got home, just warmed everything up. On the tin there was roast and mash potatoes, carrots, Swede, green cabbage, green beans, cauliflower cheese and 2 slices of Gammon and beef. Highly recommended, will definitely be going back there. The staff were very friendly, it was busy when I went today but I still got served in good time. Thank you very much and all at a very reasonable price.

Came for a drink with a few waited about 15 mins for our first drink which we didn't mind, we had a our 1st round, then asked for another round half an past no-one came, my friend asked twice no one came so about40 mins had past, they kept saying to we'll be there in a minute, so we gave it up as a bad and left Not happy

Arrived for a pre booked Sunday lunch we experienced a warm welcome and found the service to be fantastic, quick with the drinks order although table service only due to virus but no waiting , we had Sunday lunch which was hot, tasty and plenty of it. the guy serving the meals and drinks was very friendly think his name was George ? he made sure we had everything we needed before he left us to enjoy our meals. A superb Sunday afternoon out nice views over the lakes with plenty of outdoor seating areas A must visit

We had a table booked for Sunday lunch We were shown to table and ignored. No one came for a drinks order or to see what we wanted to eat It’s October and cold our table was next to radiator that’s not on Iit’s a new build barn style building it was freezing It’s table service only so we continued to tap our fingers from boredom 25 minutes later we have left, l don’t think they even noticed Whilst the hospitality industry is falling to its knees for customers, this place is a disgrace for customer service

We called at the lakes and had a lovely homemade lasagna another customer was having a home made meat pie which he said was beautiful. We would certainly go again. Many thanks also for the friendliness.

Had a lovely three course Christmas meal with lots of friends from Dog whispers dog group . The food was delicious . Excellent value for money . In fact I would say they don’t charge enough for the fantastic food that they make .Beautiful surroundings . Would highly recommend

We have just had the most lovely Christmas meal here.. it was beautiful 3 course meal, all freshly cooked for £10.0It has recently come under new management who are really friendly with really great chef top.

Staying here for night of living dubz weekend festival. Called into pub and noticed on door they took card payment. No one waiting at bar. Ordered two burger and chips and VAT and G&T came to £20.50. Was told couldn’t pay on card as it is busy and slows till down! Waited about 15 mins for burgers. And that is what we got! A burger in a dry bread roll.... no tomato onions lettuce... tasted like cardboard. No cutlery and had to ask for condiments! Need lessons in customer service. Last time I will enter this place.

Just finished a meal here will not be returning £9 for the carvery served the wrong wine beef was tough veg bland roasties and Yorkshire’s frozen the tables are not set had to ask for cutlery no salt on table avoid

ordered 5 breakfast rolls we were the only people in the pub at this time after waiting 45 min the rolls arrived 1 at a time in 5 minute intervals 3 of the order was wrong and i was told that the brown bread had gone off so it was on white i will never use this again

A lovely area to walk around, brilliant if you are into fishing, well kept, easily accessable , nice country side walks close by

We descended on this lady and her extremely accommodating kitchen staff for a late breakfast on Sunday. We are a large family and the staff prepared us all a breakfast and made endless tea & coffee. The children played outside where we could see them while the adults had the opportunity to talk and enjoy our time there. Nothing was too much trouble. The lady explained she had only just taken on the lease -we can’t recommend them highly enough, she deserves for the business to do well.

Visited just before Christmas for a coffee and bacon sandwich. We had a very pleasant welcome. It was clean and good service. A lot easier now they have a card machine. Definitely worth a visit

i visited hayfield again not long ago for a days fishing, but all the lakes were having a match on them as it was a sunday, so i treated my gf to a meal in the pub and i can say it was delicious and hot, i could not complain about anything and i will be back soon hopefully managing to get a days fishing in

The menu at Hayfield Lodge is not extensive, but the food there is genuinely nice and cooked with care. The front of house team is very accommodating. The pub is dog friendly, which is a bonus for dog walkers around the area.

We have been going to Hayfield Lodge for Sunday lunch on and off for the last year or so and have seen a very big decline.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff in the bar.....food was no longer available as it had been a slow day due to the heat. Just a shame you are not allowed to walk around the lakes.

Fabulous surroundings . Sunday delicious. Plenty of meat . Roast potatoes gorgeous . Chef extremely friendly and accommodating . Would highly recommend . Will be back soon

we have been today for sunday carvery this is one of the best carveries I have ever had all veg and meats are all cooked fresh and piping hot staff are friendly and helpful . we have been a few times now and the standard has remained the same I would recommend anyone to try.its in the country and it is in a lovely setting.well done hayfield and all the staff.

After fishing their the day before and having to ask in the on site pub I was shown the gentleman who gives out tickets as the on site shop was shut. A Good days fishing followed. Returned the next evening around 4pm to find on site shop shut again. Asked in pub again for whereabouts of people I could get ticket off of. The ladie stated she did not know so I said I would fish and come back later. After fishing for 15 minutes I sent my 2 children to the shop to see if was open to purchase a day ticket. That's when I heard hoh sir what are you doing g fishing we are full. After explaining I wasn't aware of this as shop was shut and ladie in pub had no information, I was told I should of come and seen her before fishing. The fact I did not know her and in fact she told me she was cutting hedges I explained how was I supposed to know. Pack up now and don't come back was her next comment, mine been she was being rude and should instruct her bar staff to tell people this. She then started the me my children were running around and my parenting skills were poor as the water was 16 foot deep. After stating they weren't she ranted on again about who I had spoken to in the pub. We went in the pub to discuss this but the bar person had left but she still was going on about my parenting skills in a rude manner in front of customers. After telling her she was rude she said I should of known from the sign on the shop. After asking her to show me this sign she stormed to the shop. Unfortunately for her the sign stated get day tickets from here. There was no mention of what or who to contact if shop was shut, and that the pond was full due to match. Rude, unfriendly and to do it in front of my children and customers shows a lack of experience in customer care. Obviously will not be returning and after reading other reviews appears this ladie talks to many people like this. Banked fisheries for me with a much better staff.

Delicious carvery and friendly staff in beautiful surroundings..great idea to take away a plate full of carvery food for family who are working .. highly recommend and we will be regulars .

We went to visit the fishing lake as partner coming to fish shortly. Went into the pub and had coffees and hot chocolates. Lovely place and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The lady who served us immediately brought over the colouring for our little boy and gave him a kinder egg from Easter. Partner went fishing the next day as he couldn’t wait u TIL the following week! He didn’t catch a great deal that day but enjoyed it. We chatted to the lovely chef and will try his food next time.

Visited today for the first time. Our family all had a carvery and it was excellent!! The whole meal very tasty and perfectly cooked. The staff were really helpful and welcoming. We will be back without doubt. Thank you

Messaged this morning to book a table for lunch today and responded within half an hour. Food was fresh, a variety of choice and tasted lovely. Children had good size portions and empty plates. Great value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Venimos a Hayfield Lagos aproximadamente 4 veces al año. . Nos encanta. El lugar está muy bien cuidado, el pintoresco va tan lejos como la pesca. El pub tiene comida excelente y es muy limpio. Noelie y Robin son los dueños y son gente fantástica. . . Y el trabajo duro de grandes personajes. Después de su pesca Noelie parece bien y nos mantiene en hora de codillo arrastrando los pescadores. Una señora encantadora que no hubiéramos de cualquier otra manera. Hay enormes peces en los lagos. . . Si el angler merece la pena la visita. . . Si no un angler aún bien vale la pena visitar para el pub pero no creo Noelie es entusiasta en los pescadores caminando por los lagos molestando la caña. . .

Me encanta venir a Lagos para el almuerzo. El Hayfield El entorno es precioso y tranquilo. La comida está justo en la calle y el personal son sencillos y simpáticos. Vamos a volver a probar el Experto en Glamping yurt pronto n realmente no puedo esperar.

Estado en el Hayfield cuatro veces, y para rematar una gran días de pesca yo y mis amigos siempre tienen una comida. La comida siempre ha sido de primera categoría y muy bien presentada. A las chicas les gusta tener una charla sobre la fauna local, y sólo el otro día estaban señalando que tetas azules son anidan en los cigarrillos bin. Yo y mis amigos estábamos viendo ellos y salíamos en alimentar a los pollitos. El ambiente durante la semana es lo que quieras, bonita, tranquila y silenciosa. Hay el perro sentado en la esquina (le gusta venir y decir "hola" cuando la comida se sirve y sus siempre es el viejo tío contando la historia de la que se distancia! Esto aumenta el carácter del lugar. Volveremos cada mes y han hecho que mi lugar favorito para pescar.

Deliciosa comida, ambiente encantador magnífico entorno. El lugar es un pequeño diamante no decepcionará, una pequeñísima pega, sólo en efectivo sin tarjetas, pero si has leído esta crítica no será un problema para usted!

Visito el Hayfield la mayoría de domingos para un asador. Su comida casera hermosa, gran servicio y alrededores realmente hacen su día! El tamaño de las porciones son muy generosas para su dinero y la señora que sirve el asado siempre es muy atento y dispuesto a ir la milla extra para hacer que su experiencia con ellos es genial cada vez!

Vine aquí como una familia de cuatro en una soleada tarde de domingo en agosto. Se acercó al bar, donde 4 miembros de personal detrás, pero no fue reconocido por ninguno de ellos. Finalmente una señora gritó al otro lado del restaurante con otra chica" sirven estas ya". Ella sighed y de mala gana, preguntó qué queríamos. Pedí un menú, preguntó por qué! Me dijo que quería pedir comida ella gritó a la vuelta "Mamá estas quieres comida" madre respondió "demasiado tarde" era sólo de 4:00h pero ninguna explicación para cuando la comida había detenido, muy extraño. Entonces decidimos pedir bebidas me pregunté si tenían vinos Sauvignon Blanc, ella respondió "No sé, nunca oído hablar de él, tenemos vino" ni siquiera mirar. Sin embargo, pedimos refrescos en su lugar. Mientras ella estaba ordenando las bebidas de un chico que estaba sentado en la zona de restaurante cuaresma sobre el bar y comenzó a besar uno de los casos, no lo que quieres ver o sus hijos a nosotros. Sentamos junto con ceniceros y patio quebrado lleno de vidrio, no hace falta decir que no regresaremos!

Puedo decir qué la comida o el servicio es como, pero lo que me puede decir que es, no pierdas tu tiempo yendo en lunes. Nueve de nosotros hizo un viaje de 30 millas a este restaurante (60 km de ida) para un desayuno, me dijeron que no abren los lunes.

Yo y mi novio hace poco tuvimos nuestra fiesta de compromiso aquí y fue una noche para recordar! El personal era absolutamente fantástico, no podía hacer más para ayudar y hacernos sentir bienvenidos! La comida era increíble, todo el mundo, complementado. La decoración y la iluminación era fantástico también. En resumen, fue una noche excepcional, sin duda recomendaría para cualquier evento!

we come here the last tuesday of every month for our Donny Dubz VW meeting and we are having VW shows here, it is a fantastic place and great setting.

Booked a table for 7 people on Saturday night. Seemed a little strange that we were the only car in the car park. Went inside and there was only another 3 people inside. Ordered food from a small menu only to be told that there was only two hunters chickens left and the pie we ordered would take 40 minutes. We changed our orders to what they had. When starters arrived one was wrong but as they took 30 miutes to arrive we decided to make do. Mains arrived one hour after we had ordered, and so it would have been quicker waiting for the pie. Each meal was fetched out one by one. When 6 of the meals were served the phone rang and instead of fetching my meal the waiter thought it was more important to talk to a friend than to fetch out my meal. As for the meals, most said they came with a side salad. Not one had any. The food was only luke warm and very dry. The person behind the bar put on some terrible old music from the 50's.The next day we all phoned each other only to find out that 3 of us had the runs. What else can i say but do what everyone else does on a Saturday night. Avoid !!!

Situated by fishing lakes and camp site this small but nicely set lodge restaurant provides a small but sufficient menu we had burgers nicely prepared and served good quality but I felt a little pricey an enjoyable visit non the less

Fantastic value food. Generous portions, and their steaks are always great quality.You can have a good cooked breakfast here too.The pub is used a lot by fishermen attending the adjacent fishing lakes and has a fisherman type theme to it.Clean, we'll run and friendly.A range of beers but no hand pull ale unfortunately.

What a beautiful location. Found by accident while getting lost near Doncaster Airport.Food was very nice and reasonably priced, the pub is next to a large lake with seating outside looking over at the lake. very peaceful location. I would recommend a visit.

Please save your money and go else where this place is a dive! There's no excuse for a dirty restaurant where people eat! I went for a meal a few weeks back and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had, my order took over 45 mins to prepare and the meat was so over cook I decided not to eat it refused to pay and went else where I wasn't the happiest at the time after a long drive.

We had a Christening Party here at the end of June. The carvery was fantastic, and the man serving it was professional and jovial, nothing was too much trouble. The children loved him as he served them sweets from the sweet shop with great humour and patience. The setting of this restaurant is great, fishermen catching carp on the lake, a bouncy castle for kids and friendly relaxed restaurant. All the guests commented how wonderful it all was.

We have been here many times and every time have received great friendly service. The food is fresh and very tasty! Lovely view of the lake and peaceful when sat outside. I do think it would be better if they accept card payments as sometimee we have just popped in but would have ended up spending more if we could use a card. Really think more people should come here rather than the typically crammed brewers fayre type pub

called in for tea and had an excellent meal. Sharing starter was scrumptious, ordered 3 steaks all to be cooked differently and each one was perfect. Steak pie was great too. service was with a friendly smile. great would definitely recommend

pop in here for quick drink , partner says he is hungry, he had a panni, and i asked for soup, well soup was the best soup i have tasted in a long time panni was very good with chips salad coleslaw , could not fault the meal as all home made, and the service was great.This little gem will be on our lunch list, looking forward too going in summer as there is lots of seating outside. lovely location, keep up the good work we will be back .

Visited here in February having Sunday lunch with the family,a party of ten of us consisting of ourselves,children and grandchildren.We had the Sunday carvery which was very tasty with a good selection of meats and vegetables.There was little choice for deserts but there was a Christening party held there so they were perhaps busier than normal but I would have thought that this party would have been prebooked so the orders should have been increased.Payments have to be made in cash as card payments aren't accepted.I would like to visit in the warmer weather to sit outside and observe the fishermen fishing in the adjoining lakes.It is situated off the beaten track on a dead end road.Any one not sure of its whereabout I would suggest giving them a call or us your Sat Nav.

Fresh cooked food carvery on a Sunday Only.This carvery is second to none, usually there are 2 Joints and steak pie.The meat melts in your mouth vegetables choice 5 or 6 plus proper Yorkshire puddings and stuffing balls. the mashed potatoes are fantastic.The steak pie changes slightly ie steak and mushroom steak and ale and my favourite steak and pepper corns.When you get your meat served the plates are piping hot so your food keeps warm till the end.the pies are made in a large tray with short crust pastry and I am told the steak pie contains 3 bottles of wine.As yet I have never manage to have enough room left for a sweet.I have been on the last three Sundays and would advise you to book a table.One important thing to bear in mind is it is cash only. no debit or credit cards.Reasonable selection of beers wines and spirits.This is real value for money.

We had looked at this on line a few weeks before we traveled to Doncaster. Phoned to make a reservation and as it was Valentines Day they advised us there would be a set menu. The Hayfield is down a long road and we thought no this couldn't be down here but are we glad we kept going. The staff were superb and the food fabulous. Made us feel so welcome we had a taxi there and a taxi back. Luckily we had gone to look at the place in the day. The taxi driver didn't know where it was and another firm didn't want to know. We directed the driver and he came to pick us up after. I would advise anyone to make the effort and go there. Its a pity I live so far away as I would be going there a lot. A three course superb meal and a a reasonable price

You're only allowed to pay by cash and I would have preferred to pay pennies for what we received. The children's play area no longer exists and neither does our custom.

Absolutley outstanding - the quality of food served here is amazing you can taste the passion the chiefs have for the food in each bite - such a picturesque setting you could lose yourself for the day

We're invited to a private party,the food was truly delicious especially the lasanger so good I ate it all and had seconds.the atmospher was lovely and the staff most attentive to all needs,thankyou all at the Hayfeild and yes we will deffenetly be back.xxxxx

Our private party was all we could have wished. George and Ema's attention to detail was perfect, they did everything we asked. The food was delicious, and the surroundings great. Cost was very reasonable, and they gave us great advice over the menu and planning. Everyone had a good time. This is definitely top of our list for another bespoke party. The halloween decorations are brilliant - you really need to have an evening meal here!

Fantastic food, atmosphere & price!! Ticks all the boxes a restaurant should. Family friendly too which is always a bonus, would definitely recommend a trip there to anyone!!

We came here on the off chance to try it as it had been 6 years since our last visit, food was beautiful we had the sharing platter for a starter, this is not for the faint hearted it was a meal in itself drinks and food reasonably priced will definitely be coming again

Set idyllic surroundings. If you could start with dessert well life would be perfect. The food is of great quality, great atmosphere, reasonably priced and and served with a smile. A must visit for anyone in the area and if your a fisherman well it will tick all the boxes. Suitable for all age groups

Called in Saturday night, the service and food were spot on and the prices were very reasonable. Would recommend having a visit to anyone.we live local and even got a lift back off the very friendly lady behind the bar. Thanks

I've had several meals from here and everything has been fantastic! Carvery is great and the panini's are very filling as well as the other options on the menu. The pub itself has a very nice atmosphere and it was great to be able to sit outside in the sun on Sunday and admire the view over the lake! I'm sure it'll be even better in summer! Will definitely return very soon!

Had a fantastic Sunday carvery with the family. Proper home cooked food at a great price of £5.95. Choice of gammon, beef or chicken and ham pie, you then help yourself to the vast selection of veg. I gammon, it was delicious and very filling, in fact I didn't have room for dessert. Definitely will return. Can't wait to try it in summer when they have the bbq'so. Lovely scenery at the side of the lakes.

The location if this pub is second to none. We ordered jacket potato & it sounds ridiculous but it's probably the nicest one I've ever had! It came fast & I really enjoyed it. It is good that the bouncy castles are free now (there's 3 of them)- they're not as good as the ones they had last year but they're free. However we had a purple vouchers so were expecting it to be free anyway BUT THEY DON'T ACCEPT PURPLE VOUCHERS ANY MORE. I really think this should be mentioned by hayfield on their website or on purple vouchers website. We had taken one to get buy 1 get 1 free so were disappointed at that too. However the staff were friendly & food nice so overall would visit again :-)

A group of us spent Sunday afternoon here, and all of us had the excellent carvery. It was great value for money and very tasty - if anything there was a little too much food!The scenery is excellent, and the children loved playing on the bouncy castles. The staff were very helpful and nice; I think some of the other reviewers on here must have an axe to grind.There was a fun entertainer on for the kids too, which kept them happy. As for the person complaining about the people in caravans and tents, it's a fishing lake too, of course people will spend short breaks there, hardly makes them "gypos" (small-minded isn't the word).This is a family friendly pub with good food and friendly staff. To my knowledge the new owner has only been there for a few months, and they've done a great job so far. We will definitely be returning.

We first went to eat at The Hayfield the other week and were pleasantly surprised, the food was fantastic! The menu is only small, which at first I took as a bad sign however I was quickly set straight when the meal arrived. For good quality, wholesome pub grub I couldn't recommend it more! It's ideal as a casual place to take the kids or grab some tea. We were so impressed last week that we went back last night because having seen the ribs the week before I wanted to find out whether they tasted as good as they looked, I wasn't disappointed they were yummy! I couldn't have asked for more from the staff, the chef came out to ask exactly how we wanted everything and boy did he deliver! We had great service from the staff and on top of that it was great value. It's a great place to pop down to for hearty pub grub.

as we pulled up in car park it looked lovely and its in a beautifull place.. walked in to find scruffy decor and very old fashioned.. there was young staff (owners kids i think) sat around a table watching tv as if they were at home (simpons and hollyoaks was on) the tv was on full blast VERY RUDE! they was having conversations between them selfs over tables n other side of the pub. When i asked for my drink i was served by someone who clearly didnt want to be there i got given my drink in a warm bottle n never got offerd a glass or ice so had to ask for one. didnt know were to sit as we was only ones in there and all the tables were sticky and about 100years old. they was banging stuff around including cutelary as loud as they could which made me jump. we ordered a starter (which as awfull) and it came with our mains even tho it was a starter and not a side dish! the beef and pork pie was microwaved and soggy, probly left over meat from sunday dinner, (its now wednesday) there was no atmosphere at all, the owner who had a face like a smacked bum was walking around in slippers (i should of gone in mine but then again i should of stayed at home) she was giving us dirty looks as we left and we didnt even complain as much as we should of about this appalling experiance! there was tents and caravans in the back garden and car park looked like gypos had set up camp! what a horrible disgusting waste of a pub. would rather eat out of the bins than go back to that place!

Our first visit started off well, as you drive up to the pub / restaurant the scenery and lake was gorgeous. The grounds were in good condition and with ample free car parking. The pub inside also looked clean and fresh. We had quite a lovely view over the lake. Unfortunately things went a little sour from here. The staff nor the general atmosphere was very welcoming. As somebody had pointed out in a previous review, the bar lady was unprofessional and sometimes bordering on the edge of rude. Please also note that The Hayfield no longer accept local Purple Vouchers due to now being 'under new management'. It would be nice if this was mentioned on their website which I presume is now out of date. The food came in good time and was okay; but certainly nothing special at all. We were further disappointed by the lack of any deserts available following our meal. We were left bitterly disappointed as this could in general be a really stunning little place to eat and drink. Having welcoming professional staff and friendlier clientele would go a long way to help make the Hayfield a much more pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately after this poor experience we were left not wanting to visit again. Such a shame.

We went last night to celebrate a friends anniversary...... and there is only one word I can use to describe the whole experience... AMAZING.the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was sublime.... The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, exactly how I asked for it, and it cut like butter and all the accompaniments were gorgeous (and plentiful) In our whole party there was not one single complaint, and when you take into account that our party had 8 steaks (all cooked different) that is no mean feat.I would gladly recommend Hayfields to anyone and everyone... we will definitely be going back. xxx

I would just like to thank everyone for the wonderful night we had last night. The food was amazing I actually cleared my plate which I never do, the staff were so helpful even double checking my food as I have an allergy to peppers. If you want a fantastic night out with amazing food this is the place.

After having a lovely family get together meal 2 weeks previously for 12 which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the party, we dropped in for tea after a day at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park with our grandson age 3. When we arrived we had to tell him the bouncy castles had died (!!) but then they were promptly brought back to life by friendly helpful staff who can't do too much for you. Children's and adults meals both the same excellent standard and beautifully presented in nice airy surroundings. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Oh my word! What a horrible experience!! Firstly rude staff; when I ordered the drinks at the bar the bar tender looked at me and said "four", I said "what's that", again she said "four" I then realised she was asking for four pounds, no other words were spoken. I ordered the carvery and it was cold. We went outside and there was a dj playing very loud music, I asked if he could turn it down a little as we were the only customers outside at the time. He just replied "no" and snarled at me! There was a stench of rotting drains outside, and the children's play area was littered with cigarette ends. I will never go back, these people do not deserve my money. Such a shame as the setting is lovely and the children liked the bouncy castles.

We are regular Sunday carvery warriors and love getting stuck into a good old meat and veg plate full. We attended The Hayfield and was not disappointed. All 7 of us could not find anything to moan about. Steve 'the chef' is friendly and knows his stuff. Dave, Richard and Clair are great hosts and pay special attention to the kids. Our meals, which is why we go after all, was first class and don't let the price put you off thinking cheap is average. Quite the opposite. We all agreed it was outstanding value for money. We now go through the week and eat and can particularly recommend the 'Ribs'. Our kids suck the bones dry! And if you haven't had enough fun, you can burn the generous portions off on the bouncy castles on site. My dad is cantankerous to say the least and he gave it 10/10. This is high praise indeed. He prefers to burn his meals off with a nice stroll around the lakes. Well done to all the staff at Hayfield. I can confidently say we are now regulars and look forward to not just Sunday's but every day we eat their:-)

Booked my birthday with David at the hayfield he did me a great deal sorted out a disco for me and everybody said it was the best party ever!!!Me and my friends all camped there to and the breaky in the morning was good value for money and there was plenty to eat the staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough to help. Thank you David and staff the food was super and I will be holding my staff christmas party at the hayfield too because your christmas menu looks fabtastic.

We went out as a group of 7 and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The menu ranged from steaks, lasagne, scampi, fish, burgers,chicken and the ribs are to die for. All of us had starters and mains but by far the best choice was the ribs in BBQ sauce. The service was excellent, beer was cold and the food hot. A very lovely evening topped off with a walk round the lakes. Would recommend this to anyone who wants good home cooked food, very reasonably priced and a relaxing atmosphere.

This food was cooked to perfection, I've been here 3xs recently and every time it's been excellent value for money but not only that the quality far outweighs the price ! Thoroughly recommend the hayfield and the superb tranquil surroundings .

This place was cosy clean very child friendly even has a couple of bouncy castles for to keep my daughter entertained The food was fantastic and in my eyes way to cheap

Nice staff nice location excellent scenery good pint ov beer and excellent food new chef I recommend steak and its a decnt plate I recommend this pub for its excellent beer / excellent foods/excellent staff / &excellent scenery we will call again and again

We paid a return visit to The Hayfield as a group eager to sample the gastronomic delights once again. We were very disappointed to be told that they no longer served food but may start to again in march but there was no indication as to what type of food was being planned on being served.We had already ordered our drinks (teas and coffees to the main) which were on the pricey side given there were no tea pots etc. In general the place was not as clean or as looked after as on our previous visit.My advice would be to ring ahead and see if they are serving any food.

Really great place, good food, service and clean. It attracks familys and a nice sort of people deffo take my aunties for tea there again. Views are stunning.

I went here with my friend for a meal as we were child free for a change. The pub/restaurant is set in lovely surroundings and is rustic in style. We were told many times that the chef had trained under Jamie Oliver.I had the asparagus spears with poached egg and salmon with a side of onion rings and the following day I had the chilli nachos as the portions were large. My frien had the rib eyed steak with prawn "surf". All was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Would love to go back again as the meal was lush and we enjoyed a walk around the fishing lakes after which finished the meal off a treat.Really recommended for an adults evening out.

What a set of tight gits some people are!!! I have spent many a time at this place and I cannot complain at all..... Some people need to get a life! They think everything in life should be free in these places! Ask them if they'd work for free!!!!!

Nice bar & outdoor areaHowever they charge £3 for kids to play for 2hrs... this is a joke as there is actually only 3 things to play on.Shame really as I personally wouldn't go back for this reason as it cost me £9 before I even started :(For people without children it really is lovely... staff are professional & well mannered also it's a nice pint & food good

Been here with the family today on a groupon deal (all u can eat BBQ and Play area access). This place has the potential to be great. A few things let it down tho.Bar area under staffed - waiting times far too long for the amount of people in front of us in the queue BBQ food extremely poor quality - burgers and sausages were the cheapest of the cheapStaff - found the majority to be impersonal and unwilling to smile. The man behind the bar being the exception to this. He was lovelyThis pub is in a lovely setting, right by fishing lakes in a very secluded part of Doncaster. The kids inflatable play area is fab, and they had vigilant staff monitoring it too which is good. I love the idea of handing out picnic rugs too so that parents could chill on the grass whilst watching their kids run riot on the inflatables! A nice touch. All in all, I would probably come here again, but would definitely not pay for the BBQ. Have a feeling those burgers are gonna be repeating on me for a long time!! Maybe the staff received more customers than expected due to the groupon deal and the amazing weather? But still...smiles are free :)

The pub had just opened (approx 3 weeks) and was been served my carvery, I had the meat on my plate and then I came to the potatoes. There wernt any and they said it would be about 15 minutes for them, I asked for a refund (which they gave) and went to an alternative pub in the area (Three Horse Shoes).
