The Hawley Arms in Camden

The food was delightful but the Drink service was incredibly slow due to the barman being constantly distracted by this fat brunette Scottish woman who sat at the bar, she wouldn’t shut up the entire time, the worst was her laugh; I’ve never heard anything like it. She also kept referring to her Beef Curtains being hung up whatever that means?

A great English pub in the Camden town district, a good rock atmosphere and homemade food served generously. We had a blast 😋

Lively and lovely pub a minute away from both Camden Market and the Hawley Wharf... Heard they do a mean Sunday roast which I'll probably have to try someday...

Absolutely wonderful pub, with a great traditional feel and very nice service. But the best surprise was their sticky toffee pudding, a real gem, with plenty of butterscotch sauce. The Scotch eggs also were a real treat, above standard. We didn't expect to find such good pub grub in touristy Camden !

Great pub in Camden, 2 floors plus a nice (but fairly small) roof terrace. Bars on both floors, 2 lots of toilets. Good selection of drinks on tap and reasonably priced for London. Good music selection on a Saturday evening too, and busy but not overwhelmingly so.

Came here with friends 6 of us, food was very disappointing, batter on fish soggy, only 2 small slices of beef for the roast. For the money not worth it.

Popped in for a quick one before going to a gig in Camden. Quite a busy place with lots of music memorabilia.

Being a huge Amy Winehouse fan, I had to come here. It did not disappoint. The pub is a lovely place to go with friends. The drinks were great and so was the pint of chips! The atmosphere is amazing and everyone was very friendly. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in Camden Town.

There is a blonde guy, who needs 2 meteres to enter in the kitcken, I told him that we can stay on the side and finish our drink but he was outside and aks the bodyguard invite us outside because we don’t do what he want... nice way to promote a business…

Great local. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Lots of history.

The security staff were rude and unnecessarily aggressive. He frisked three teenage girls and their mother who were ahead of me which I felt was totally inappropriate. The bar staff were indifferent to the point of rudeness and the beer terrible- it tasted like the pipes hadn't been cleaned for about ten years. My advice? Go somewhere else!

Small but characterful boozer, handy for The Roundhouse. Ubiquitous drinks but excellent, friendly, on the ball staff. Not keen on the britpop focus of the music on the Friday I ventured in or the smell of pre-prepped and fried food that pervaded.

If you are a musician or like a good pub you are at the right place here. Great selection of beer and a small menu to get a bite to eat.

Disappointed with Hawley sausage roll. Very small for the.price - £6. Asked for it to be heated up and came back burnt without an apology.

Came here specifically to have a pint of Camden in Camden, didn't disappoint.

What a great Sunday lunch in this cracking pub in Camden. We were lucky to get a table and I think we probably would have waited for one anyway as the atmosphere and feeling of the place was just what we were looking for to finish our weekend away off. We went for the beef and a chicken roast dinner and we were not disappointed - the food and size were great and around £6 cheaper than other places I looked at and we had to try the sticky toffee pudding after reading the reviews and wow glad we did share one.

Returned to the Hawley on a visit with my son to Camden. Some London pubs seem to be refusing CASH, so was pleased to let the Hawley have sone of ours ! Good beers, staff were nice, nice food too. Will be back.

Lovely staff! The girls were very accommodating and friendly. Food and drinks were great! Nothing to complain about this will become my new regular!

We were on the hunt for a Sunday roast and found this place while at Camden market. We were both stuffed having gotten the roast beef and pork. The serving size was great value. The pub is also very cozy and they have a great selection of draught beers on tap.

Classic English pub ,great music and vibe

We wanted a Sunday roast, and that is what we got! Amazing pub, great vibe, superb food. Playlist was on point, and the wood fireplace is a nice cozy touch. Cannot recommend highly enough 🤘🤘

Worth finding just off of the busy Camden Streets! Go to the upstairs bar as it tends to be less busy than main floor. Great pour of Guinness!

Went to 4 bars in Camden, but this one is absolutely the best! Friendly staff, good drinks and rock/indie music🖤 I wish I can live here and grab a drink every night🥲 The selection of rock/indie music is good and the staff is so friendly that I didn't want to go home. The interior is cute and a lot of hip people come here~~ Be sure to go there.

Traditional pub, tucked away off the hustle and bustle of Camden just enough for us to get a seat on a Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks before Christmas. Good pub food and good, friendly service. There's a garden at the back that was well used even in December.

…especially when everyone is out for Christmas. I came here two nights in a row earlier this week and enjoyed both visits. Lots of space on all floors, inside and out too.

What an odd place. One bouncer refused a friend of mine entry because he was ‘too drunk’, despite said friend not having even come into view of the bouncer at that point. Very very strange- clearly not interested in the custom of paying patrons.

Great pub but the security are jobsworths and need to calm down. Especially to their regular customers who spend time and money in there. I can see from the comments this seems to be a problem

I went to The Hawley arms a month ago with my husband and we loved it, great atmosphere! Never got asked for ID. Went last night with 2 friends, we are all 45 years old. We were met by a rude and sarcastic doorman who demanded we show him ID to prove we are over 18. I asked if he was being serious as we clearly look over 18, over 25, over 40. Such a shame as we had been really looking forward to it, they are tainting the place, maybe rethink your door staff.

Avoid this pub! The bouncer was extremely rude to my friends and I without provocation, ultimately shouting abuse at us up the street for no reason at all. I contacted the management to make a complaint, they could have easily won back my confidence by simply apologising but instead they sent a response that made no sense and refused to take any responsibility for the incident, claiming they have friendly bouncers. However, simply checking the reviews here highlights this is a clear lie, as my experience is not unique. I've since advised the social groups that I help manage to avoid this venue which will have cumulatively cost them thousands in revenue but from what I gather from my experience and others, the management team are too stupid to care.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. Very close to Camden market. In a rainy Sunday we enjoyed their Sunday roast.

Lively pub with good atmosphere, good outside terrace upstairs, cool interior with band posters/album covers, great music playing, decent selection of beers and very reasonably priced for the area.

If you are around this is the place to come and have the classic UK fish and chips! The service the food and the atmosphere of this restaurant is great! We really loved it! You have to try their famous sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream it was delicious!!!

I have been here several times before. On this occasion I only had a quick drink whilst walking around Camden. There are a good few beverages on tap and the place was fairly clean. There is an authentic pub atmosphere which makes the experience all the more pleasant.

Its so nice to still have an independent pub around. Great tap beer selection and drinks selection in general. Its always buzzing and has lots of memorabilia on the walls. Great places to sit inside and out. Would highly recommend to check it out when In Camden. Great location.

I Camden ligger denna klassiker . Amy Winehouse stamställe är väl ingången. Massor av celebriteter på väggarna. Detta skulle ställe har hög ljudnivå samt det är även svårt att få sittplats . Men stället är väl värd ett besök.

The pub has a good atmosphere and is very welcoming. However: They automatically add service charge on everything - food and drinks. This really should discretionary - that is, up to the paying customer to decide. They don’t serve full pints. It shouldn’t be up to the customer to ask for the glass to be topped up.

Great place. We went mid week lunch time so found a table to sit. Prices reasonable considering the area Good food, lovely staff.

Called to book for a lunch in December and wanted to check if they have GF options as my friend has coeliac disease. Person was rude and asked me to call back in and hour as he was 'in the middle of completing a beer order'.

Bad service. The bartenders seemed to be in a bad mood. You practically need to beg to be served.

Sad to announce the death of another pub. Until fairly recently, this would be a haven for adult , like minded souls to enjoy food , drink and conversation. Now, it has been turned over to an attempt at a gastro pub complete with young children . I went in at two in the afternoon and every table had a sign on it stating, " lunch " so don't sit down if your not eating. I ended up on the roof terrace for a chilly pint of Guinness. Horses for courses, but if you're looking for a pub, then don't bother.

Jumped up child behind the bar with an Afro working the bar was rude and demeaning took a photo of the bar when it was quiet with it's lights and decorations and they called me creepy, proper rude man gey another job mate!

One of the greatest pubs in Camden, used to be Amy Winehouse's local back in the day, and meeting point of many of the big names in the alternative rock scene from the early 2000s. Great vibes anytime, great music. A must if you're in Camden.

Decent pub serving a good selection of beers. Well known in the area and visited by lots of tourists for its connection to Amy Winehouse.

Ridiculously busy but fantastic music, good selection of drinks, even though the bar is crowded and busy they do a great job of getting served as quickly as possible. We had a fab night and will 100% return.
