I was really excited to finally visit this pub. Lovely pub but what a miserable barmaid (the one with the darker hair). House of front staff are what sells your beer - once I've finished my pint ( I'm gone) - I'm sure there are more friendlier pubs around the area.

Unpleasant waitress, we simply asked her if there was a concert tonight and she didn't even deign to answer, she turned around and left us with the word in our mouths. When you come to Spain you will be treated the same way

Nice place with limited, but reasonable, beer selection. Actually stuck to its opening hours (or, at least, I managed to buy a beer after 23:00 on a Wednesday). Good vibe I thought in a genuinely pleasant location.

Reasonable fish and chips. Nicely decorated and quirky place.

Downstairs bar gets busy so go upstairs and get served straight away.

Cozy ambience, friendly staff and delicious vegan options. Chose the vegan Bangers and Mash and really enjoyed it.

Nice bar, all the bar tenders were talking and one was serving. Everything else was cool. I like the vibe of this place. 5 stars all day.

Stylish pub conveniently located near the market, perfect for a pit stop. The roof garden is a really lovely spot when the sun is out.

Great pub in the heart of Camden. Many well-known celebrities give/have given each other their hands here. Above all, it was Amy Winehouse who often visited this pub. It is very cozy here, you are greeted and treated like a friend. Despite the cult, the prices are not exorbitant and the food was excellent. An absolute must for every fan of pub culture and good music.

Perfect for a Sunday roast after a stroll at Camden market. Friendly welcome, good beers and typical setting.

Absolutely shambolic. From the moment we arrived, the bouncer had an attitude and I wanted to leave after that first interaction. The bartender wasn’t much better—rude, dismissive, and seemingly incapable of making a proper drink. Ordered a vodka and coke, and I’d be genuinely shocked if it had so much as SEEN a bottle of vodka. Might as well have been a straight-up coke. The toilets? A disgrace. Filthy, neglected, and reeking of poor management. I’ll admit, the outdoor area is quite charming with its fairy lights and picnic tables, and the interior itself is decent enough. But let’s be honest—this place is coasting on the fumes of Amy Winehouse’s name rather than offering anything of real quality. Won’t be making the mistake of returning.

Great bar in the city center of Camde. town. The bartenders and bartenders are very friendly. Let's remember that this is Amy Winehouse's favorite bar and the place where she worked and sang. The decor is typical of an English pub with a great musical touch. You can drink as much as you eat If there's one pub to spend an evening in, it's this one.

If you are a fan of Amy Winehouse, this pub was "her" pub that she visited regularly. There is a collection of signed photos of famous singers and Amy. Don't miss the mural outside the pub. It's very noisy, very lively, a real Camden pub! A must see!

Great pub in Camden Town. They don't take orders at the table for the simple fact that in England it is customary to order at the counter in all pubs. Excellent variety of beer, a gem is the pub where Amy Winehouse spent her afternoons

Beware of the Hawley Arms, it’s a trap! You’d be a fool to think you go there “just for a drink”. You will end up having a great party and too much of that one drink! Every time I went there it was a good party with good friends making good memories. The only bad point is that the kitchen closes at 8, which I find too early.

An absolute icon of a pub, I will always come back. The atmosphere is one of the bests in London from my opinion. The music as well as the service is great. The amount of kindness in this place is perfect and is really appreciated.

My daughter and I visited for lunch today - the staff were friendly and the menu had a good choice of food at reasonable prices. The beefburger I had was delicious - so much flavour - chips were amazing too. My daughter loved the chicken burger and loved the mix of it with chorizo. Only criticism of the pub was how crowded the tables were as some other customers didn't get personal space and obviously thought they should have our space too. The music they played in the pub was great too (Velvet Underground, Stealers Wheel etc). Would definitely visit again.

Big shoutout to this amazing pub. I make sure I come here everytime I’m in Camden. As a big Amy Winehouse fan this is a must. The atmosphere and vibes this place gives is truly magical and one of a kind🩷

Visited this pub for a drink after a long day of sight seeing, found one of the older female members of staff rude. I don't think this pub is for non-locals.

My husband and I come to the Hawley Arms every time we come down to London. My husband for many years remembers it as a great music venue the birth place of punk. Well today we went for our tradition of drinks and was told we were not allowed to sit downstairs as this is now reserved for dining. So we went upstairs like good little people and every table upstairs was also reserved for people for Lunch. The rude waiter/barman told us we had to move as it was reserved for Sue at 12:30-1pm. We moved to a dirty table with someone's discarded plates and drinks....it took them 15 minutes to even notice to clear it. This Sue character never showed up. We had to put up with dreadful Xfactor music also. We are very disappointed at the hostility of the staff so we left. Why make this amazing venue into some kind of gastro pub instead of what it is now and turn it back into what it stood for in the old days.

Got 2 double vodka and coke... £28...really, paid less in the middle of London and Westminster, felt like we had our leg lifted.plus toilets were discussing, I think a visit from environmental health would be advisable.

One of the best pubs in Camden Town if not the best.

Didn't have food, but did have a wonderful pint of London Pride and it wasn't too expensive. My mate returned with his round in pint jugs. A real winner. Nice pub, ok staff but terrible choice of music. Rolling Stones live in the 70's isn't for me, others will wildly disagree. That's life I'm afraid. Nice pub tho.

Great atmosphere, good rock music. Was good to be first in sight right on the opening time, tables filled with people fast. Food was ok, and lots of options on drink menu. Super kind service. Absolutely going again when on London.

Great place staff very friendly so was the customers I was a tourist from Glasgow went down to london for a few days can’t fault the pub at all , That good going down for a few days with my daughter this January.

Doorman are absolute fools, can hardly speak English and have the biggest chips on their shoulders I’ve ever seen, plenty of better pubs in Camden this is a tourist trap.

came here to see the bar as the one Amy Winehouse used to drink at, and were more than pleasantly surprised. Not only does the bar not attempt to benefit off Amy, but it has small, respectful odes to her around the venue. The bar itself is really well lit, a really enjoyable vibe - got a small snack and had a few drinks. Really good price for everything too, and a super friendly space for LGBT. if I ever get back to Camden I will a hundred percent be coming back here.

The only thing I regret is not taking pictures! The vibe is electric due to the energy around me. From the jokes from the bouncer at the door to all the unique staff at the bar. I will be going back very soon, so I will update you with pictures. And I will definitely be enjoying food if it's available ☺️

Nice pub in the heart of Camden Town, where you can find autographs and photos of famous rock stars. Excellent food, unfortunately they don't take orders at the table, so the service is 3 stars out of 5.

I have been here before and generally a good venue but the door staff were gatekeepers beyond belief. The inquisition we got at the door just to go in and get a beer was totally unnecessary. We gave up and went somewhere else and had a better time. Your pub is good, but not that amazing. Get a grip 😎

Over the years Camden has been sanitised and watered down from its former hardcore self but it still maintains an attraction to me. There are a few places I like to visit but one of my favourite places to visit is @thehawleyarms . My favourite time to visit here is on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to while away the hours with friends having a few beers or a bit of grub and immersing in to the environment here. The atmosphere is always amazing, this is in part due to the makeup of the pub and the enthusiastic and personable bar staff. This boozer has a lot of mystique attached to it, this place was famously the local of Amy Winehouse, God rest her soul. There is a beautiful mural of Amy at the side of the pub by @JXCDESIGNS in homage to her beauty and cement her legacy here. The Hawley has lots to offer across the generations, there is live music promoting up and coming bands and convivial weekend afternoons with good quality beers and food, so something for everyone. . *didn't eat but the burger and chips looked amazing. Here we have a homely feeling pub overflowing with character in the building, the staff and most of the punters. We popped in for a drink on a bit of a pub crawl but found it to good to only have one drink. It extended to about four I think. The place filled to bursting and emptied, almost, leaving the seated drinkers with the ebb and flow of the pub crawlers. There's a lot to look at with the walls covered in Polaroid photos of locals and celebrities, including Amy Winehouse, the Queen of Camden. The music was rocking oldies and had the room singing along like an old London knees up. I can't wait to get back.

This is my favourite pub in the whole of England. The place just oozes positive vibes and the staff have wonderful positive energy and provide great service. I visit every time I’m in London 👏

The food was ok, my fish overcooked, 3 meals came out together, the forth one was 15mins after, the very rude bar man, Noel Gallagher lookalike, wearing dark sunglasses was very rude and unhelpful, will never go again 😎

Super busy but lovely pub! A historic place

This pud is very cute and comfortable, well furnished and warm! The staff are friendly and there is a good choice of beer. We went for the sunday roast and it was very good, a nice portion with all the parts of the dish that make it traditional! Other dishes on the menu looked interesting too. I recommend making a reservation to eat.

We popped in for a few pints. All of a sudden "Cigarettes and Alcohol" was cranked and the entire place was chanting the lyrics. At that point, We knew these were our people. Best Pub in London. Staff was kind. We will return.

Love Camden but not been to this pub before. We went due to Amy connection, the mural outside is stunning , the pub is ok , drinks were fine , the food looked fab. There were plenty of pics on the walls of loads of musicians not just Amy.

Sold out of vegetarian options on a Saturday evening, but offered complementary chips once those orders were cancelled

The pub is in a great location, had a nice and cozy rear garden and terrace. Unfortunately the smell of stale beer was overpowering which would say cleanliness isn’t one of their priorities

Stopped at the door by bouncer / security today at around 4.30pm on a Saturday (12/10/2024) and asked for ID ( I visibly look older then 18/25) upon presenting my valid and in date citizens card which is recognised in most places as Photo ID was informed that they could only accept a valid driver license or a passport/ photo of these documents to allow entry which I didn’t have on hand. Apparently this form of ID is not seen as valid anymore by the training providers for the security staff at the door even though is endorsed by the home office as well as police as a form of valid photo ID for use. I have never seen this anywhere else in Camden before or anywhere else in my years of using the card. Ultimately the venue's in the right and is able to refuse entry for whatever reason including for a preference of ID I just found the experience very bizarre considering the time of day and the venue itself was a pub and not a club my ID has been accepted by most clubs so was a surprise and appeared excessive and myself and my partner were very disappointed as was not allowed in… Unsure if would go back given the experience. Ps I dont blame the security guard if that is the policy as there just doing there job but is very bizarre rules if true.

A historical pup in Camden Town. The atmosphere is every evening nice. The bartenders are very kind. A typical britsh pup well.

Where do I start. First of all stopped at the door by the bouncer in the middle of the day on a Saturday to tell me and my friends that there wasn’t enough room and to come back in 20 minutes. Manage to get in as the pub was semi empty. Second red flag was when the lady work behind the bar started snapping at us for no reason at all. Very rude bitter old lady that obviously hates her life and the world around her. Third red flag. We were stationed at the bar and heard screams from an obviously intoxicated young lady for us to move so she could order an another drink to fuel her alcohol addiction. What can I say other then I would not recommend nor would I ever go back unless I get the urge to be verbally attacked by a lot of very strange unusual peeople around a pub. Would give zero stars but sadly I have to give 1. Ps the food looked vile as well.

Loud, bustling, good vibes. Beer always used to be good, but had a bottle of low alcohol the last time I popped in. Reminds me of how pubs used to be. Lively, a place for a good night.

Sunday Roast with home made Horseradish to die for.

We had a very good Sunday lunch last November (5 star reviews ) so we went back today…unfortunately we didn’t have the same positive experience…we waited probably 35”+ to get 4 orders of the beef with roasted potatoes some pumpkin mash, cabbage , broccoli … all of the above being served barely lukewarm / cold rather… we should have send all back rather then asking for some more very hot gravy (gravy was btw quite watery ) hoping it would have helped to get a warm bite… Today was not worth for what we paid.

Horrible roast! The pork was DEAD dry. I’m not sure in the chefs ability but that’s the worst Sunday roast me and my friend had, it really ruined our Sunday! The chicken was also dry and that’s the first time we needed to pay Extra for Yorkshire pudding £1.5 for one. I mean come on Sunday roast workout Yorkshire pudding? What’s that? I don’t want to kill the business but they definitely have to put some effort to do better in the future. I had to give the rest of the pork to our dog - as it wasn’t suitable for humans. The coffee was good and staff was friendly however the server didn’t seem to take our feedback seriously, and she even replied well the quality of the food was good. I won’t be taking anyone again here.
