I always see a long queue for fortitude so I keep trying new things hoping that each time it’ll be better quality but every time I tried the sandwiches it was too salty (the chicken Caesar and the focaccia) and their sweets are too sweet (beignet, buns, etc.). Look at the amount of salt on the focaccia i bought. I literally had to throw it in the bin midway. I’ve always been disappointed all the 6-7 times i got something from there. But the smell is definitely great.

The pastries were okay, I guess—nothing to go nuts over. The biggest downside for me was that they were completely cold. Even if they were just slightly warm, it would have been a huge upgrade. Prices were fair, and the staff was nice and friendly

Heard about this bakery through an english blogger who gets paid sometimes to put nice reviews but in this case I'm sure he was not paid because it was an awesome experience very tasty pasties at a good price. Very good value for money. And the beignets are a must try. Just keep in mind that they dont start selling them before 11am.

A very popular place on social media, and the prices reflect that. The cheese twist I got wasn’t any better than the usual you’d get in a Lidl or Tesco bakery. However, the cinnamon sticky bun was unreal and i’d highly recommend it. Staff are super friendly though and I didn’t have to wait too long in line (got there around 11 am). It seems people have to queue for longer if they want the beignets. Overall a great bakery but definitely on the expensive side.

My experience here was okay, not unforgettable. Came twice for breakfast to try different things. All the pastries tasted a lot like yeast which was not the most pleasant flavor, the spinach and feta roll had almost no feta inside. The blackberry morning bun was quite nice (except the yeasty flavor mentioned above) and same for the garlic butter pastry. Cappuccino is excellent!

Bakehouse found by chance and it was a really great surprise, we ate the best cinnamon roll in London 😍. Many vegetarian and even vegan options (highly recommended chocolate and banana cake) but the director tells me the savory roll with sausage is also exceptional. We liked it so much that we also returned for the last breakfast of the trip. You risk finding a bit of a queue, especially for coffee, but the times are moderate and we were also lucky on this one. 😊

For my sausage roll I've descended into the Polish salt mines where the workers poured pork fat on me whilst I was working away at the massive chunks of it. Berber omelette bun was identified as a murder scene with the harissa sauce smudged all over the top and sides with little of it on the inside. Blueberry morning bun was alright, but didn't quite make my morning I'm afraid.

On my personal list to try for SO long. Gutted I didn’t like it. I tried the morning bun and found it to be odd. The bun itself had a very strange taste to it, almost as though it had some sort of extract with not enough sugar to balance it out making it taste oddly bitter. I ate around it as best as I could, as the filling was ok, but nothing groundbreaking. Weirdly bland. Hoping it was just not to my personal taste, and I’d would return to try again… just not in a hurry, and only if I was in the area.

an extremely popular place online, but nothing to write home about, in my opinion; very mediocre. i visited about an hour before their closing time on a wednesday, and there were only two people in the queue ahead of me, which was a pleasant surprise. the seating available was a couple of benches patrolled by the many pigeons, and a fair amount was unoccupied. the savoury pastry selection was nearly entirely sold out, yet most sweet options were still stocked, which, too, is remarkable. ordered two — a guinness cake and a black forest beignet. the first was the better one of the above: the cream was nothing special, but the base was delicious and appropriately moist; i imagine their “fermented chocolate brownies” are delightful. the beignet, on the contrary, was more disappointing than anything. the dough itself was dry, and the cream was oddly plain even with the addition of all the toppings. the flake chocolate was the nicest part. ultimately, the price is way above the quality for me. the baked goods are pretty, but that’s about as far as it goes

The most overrated bakery in London. I had the banana and chocolate stourbread. It was nice but nothing special having had far better at other independent bakeries over the years. At almost £5 it was overpriced given the portion size even when considering the Bloomsbury location (I have lived in London for a decade so understand the cost of similar products) Also very few savoury options with no sausage rolls and few sandwich choices. The closing of the left hand size door also made it more congested than it needed to be. This is one of these instances when social media presents somewhere as being far better than it actually is. That said, it is far from being bad.

The donut itself smelled good, but again was very bland, it lacked both salt and sugar. I appreciate you want to make it as healthy as possible but I suggest you shouldn't. I always like to try out something new when I visit London and one of my friends recommended I try out this bakery. I visited twice, once on Saturday morning where the queue was quite long so be prepared to wait and the other time on a Tuesday morning when I was able to be served straight away. First visit I had the ham and cheese pastry which was huge and full of proper bits of thick cut ham. For my second visit I had a cinnamon sticky bun which was okay. You do get a Bluelight discount so that could save you a bit of money. The only worrying thing was on Saturday whilst in the queue I saw flies land on the jam in one of the cakes so that was a bit off putting hence I went for the savoury option.

It is cramped inside and bags of flour at the front entrance look so untidy.

Delicious wonderfully cooked benedict. Waiter could have been a bit more friendly. A smile would have helped

Slowest service I’ve ever experienced. 25 minute wait for coffee and over an hour waiting for a burger
