Great restaurant. Quality cuisine, the mushroom risotto is tasty, the meats in the burgers are tender. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and welcoming.

Nice lunch place in Hampstead. Delicious curried chicken soup served with 2 warm crusty rolls, very tasty. There is an outdoor area as well. Nice looking cakes in display but no time to try them unfortunately. Soft jazzy music playing which was good. Friendly staff.

my friend and i had a wonderful time at the new york cafe catching up after a long time apart. despite the place being quite empty, we had made a reservation and were seated upstairs. the drink prices were really reasonable, and the cocktails were absolutely delicious. the food was fantastic too, (they had a large menu with a wide range of options, including some great vegetarian choices.) service was quick, and our meals arrived hot, making the whole experience very enjoyable. i would definitely recommend this place and plan to return myself. (i just wanted to mention that the matcha i ordered seemed a bit clumpy, maybe it wasn't mixed enough. it didnt affect the taste, so i'm still extremely happy with my visit.)

Great coffee and nice little place especially after the local parkrun at hampstead heath

We booked here for a group brunch after parkrun at Hampstead Heath. It was a cold morning and the team were very accommodating for modifying our booking to sit upstairs inside rather than the garden tables outside. The food was tasty and all came out at the same time, albeit on the slightly pricier side (I guess to be expected in the Heath!) , it was delicious and enjoyed by all. Thank you for having us and your great hospitality!

Probably 5th revisit since first review. Still great. 3stack burger was just what the doc ordered. Asahi was flat but changed quickly with no fuss. Great service. Cozy Cafe with great friendly service. Food was tasty and quite reasonably priced. The 66 burger is a good option if you're hungry. Cocktails are great value too with a decent variety of cakes. Will definitely return.

Small quiet restaurant. We had an American style breakfast. Was Outstanding !

The staff were clueless and got confused over a black Americano with a little cold water! The order took aaaaages to be made.The coffee was ok, just nothing special.

I had an amazing experience there, had a lovely latte and the barista was very kind and attentious with me, the cheescake was heavenly good.food was amazing.

A great little cafe with a warm welcome. Booked for a friends get together brunch and we had a lovely table for the 6 of us upstairs. The two ladies taking care of the cafe made us all feel very welcome and the service was excellent. Lots of choice on the menu and we were all very happy with our choices of either Eggs Benedict or Mushroom Benedict! We spent an over 2 hours there and never felt that we needed to rush to leave. Very happy to recommend if you are ever in the area - even if it is just for a quick coffee!

Absolute charmer of a place in Hampstead, close to the heath. It’s small but cozy and the service and food were wonderful. Great place for lunch or a coffee. The cappuccino was heaven and we all loved our lunches. Go!

My friend and I both had the “American cooked breakfast”. Plenty of food! Tasty sausages and perfectly cooked poached eggs. Washed down with fresh, strong americano coffee. The staff were lovely too. Thankyou for taking care of us.

Well-attended, narrow, probably two-story cafe. You shouldn't sit on the ground floor if it's full, people are constantly running back and forth, going up and down the stairs every second. Always close to your table. 4 people behind the bar, and one doesn't know what the other has done. 🙈

Cozy little place in the heart of Hampstead. The ambience is great, the staff nice and kind, the food amazingly delicious – I had a burger and tried my friend's omelette, they were both among the best ever in their category. The coffee is also good. I'll certainly be back.

Menu choice was good, the food and drink was not bad but very overpriced for what it was. To pay for a pot of tea and then to be charged extra for the milk to go with it is just greedy especially when you have paid £45 for breakfast for two. I travel and eat out a lot and this was the first time I have ever been charged for milk to go with my tea. Service charge was excessive but I guess the lesson for me was in future to check my receipt in the restaurant and not when I get home. For anyone visiting Hampstead there are much better cafes in the immediate vicinity that are worth checking out instead.

The greek yoghurt with granola was all granola and plain yoghurt. Not greek. My extra hot cappuccino was tepid at best albeit decently made. The space is cramped and the tables are tiny. Prices however are not tiny.

It was nice having food at New York cafe and we really enjoyed it. The food was amazing and staffs were very friendly. Having a hot drink in the garden downstairs felt really satisfying. Overall I am really impressed with the quality of their services.❤️

NYC Hampstead has become our go-to cafe in Hampstead! Excellent food and seriously the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted! The service is fabulous and a lovely relaxed atmosphere! A really great destination for any time of day!

This place was quite disappointing. We looked for "best breakfast in Hampstead" and this came up. It certainly wasn't. £95 for a family of four to have breakfast? £6.50 for an apple juice from a carton is scandalous. I wouldn't mind so much if the cafe was in a nice setting with character and style and a huge effort had been made by the owner to upscale the place, but sadly not. Looking at the menu it looks like everything is overpriced, even down to the can of coke. £4.95 extra for maple bacon on pancakes is a joke.

Not recommended. Booked a table for 4 and was offered a tiny table which would at most fit two people.

Ordered brownies and red velvet for takeaway. Everything was stale and tasted horrible probably food was there for days. I do not recommend.

I randomly found this lovely café and it is like a gem to me, the best service and freshly cooked food. The environment and the vibe of the restaurant are exceptional. I ordered the buttermilk and gravy. What a comfortable and tasty food! I wish to live nearby so I visit this café every single day!

Cute little place with a large menu✨ I got a cake and a coffee - really loved that they had a decaf option and many plant-based milks to choose from.

We tried their unlimited breakfast option. We called at 8 am and was able to book a slot for 2. Breakfast was beyond amazing! Full of flavors, generous portion. Highly recommend the pancakes with berry compote. Staff are extremely friendly and the manager approach us to check up on us. I would Highly recommend this cafe

Almost £8 for a tiny milkshake is ridiculous. I thought the price was pretty mad but figured it would be a generous portion and was pretty thirsty. Only for this to come out - see photo of small takeaway cup. The ingredients for a milkshake are not that expensive even in cost of living so it's definitely insane to charge £8 for such a small drink. Surely just make it larger?!

Good cappuccino, great service and yummy food. We had the veg burger, which was a feast for the senses and the Eggs Florentine. Definitely coming back again.

We visited the New York cafe today afterstaying on in Budapest for the F1. It’s absolutely beautiful building but the food and service certainly let it down. We ordered the afternoon tea for 2 which consists of 2 tiny pieces of bread with egg mayo and cream cheese spread over and tiny bit of salmon on top. Two tiny profiteroles each, bite size caramel, shortcake tart and tiny sponge with pink icing and also two dark filled chocolate’s each. You could have coffee or tea and a glass of orange juice. The coffee cup was half filled and the pink cupcake had a hard piece when chewing. It looked almost like a piece of fingernail. We queried this with the waitress and off she went with it in a piece of napkin, she then returned to say “don’t worry it’s not a nail, it’s a shell of a nut, no apology, no manager, nothing! This cost us £72.00 roughly. It’s a beautiful place but don’t waste your money, you’ll be disappointed

The chef is a great guy as he makes the best egg florentine with succulent hollandaise sauce. Their coffee a premium blend which is mixed from different countries and gathered in one cup. Excellent for a brunch on weekend!!

Family owned business lead by a highly skilled and extremely passionate chef and his ever so caring and welcoming wife.. the food was brilliant the wagu burger was perfect and the pasta was out of this world. Truly a must visit little gem of a cafe in hampstead

Lovely small cafe, obviously well used by locals. Tea served in a pot - always a plus. Jude's ice cream available. There's a loo and a small garden.

The food was tasty but way overpriced for the portion. Then they add the “optional” service charge, which was definitely not worth an additional cost. (What does the service charge even go to besides taking our order and bringing it to us? Which every other restaurant does for free… ) I got one dish (full American) no drinks or anything additional, and it was over £20– for one pancake, a tablespoon of beans, and half of one mushroom…

Loved this place. We stumbled upon it following a long walk in the park with our two large dogs. The staff were so friendly, so ready to assist. Food (brunch) was amazing.

popped in here on Saturday to grab an ice coffee to help me survive my the northern line in 30C. Coffee was great and barista was lovely, they also offered a free sample of mango smoothie which was so delicious and super fresh!

The place was amazing, the service and food was great, I'm glad that Rinku served us, we are from quite far but the have treated us so well! I'd you are in the area you must visit here, especially for breakfast, brunch and lunch! The table next to us ordered some nice pasta and the smell was incredible! We will come back for sure!

Very nice place with amazing breakfast/brunch options. I went with a friend, we met by Hampstead station and it is 2 min from there. Loved unlimited breakfast idea- you pay fixed price and order any main and a hot drink. ! There is much more space inside than it looks from the front entrance- there is upstairs and the garden behind. Recommended!

I love everything about New York Cafe. The food is lovely and there’s lots of choice. Staff are nice, friendly and helpful. Its great that there is lots of choice of seating, either in the main cafe, in the quieter upstairs section or downstairs in the lovely garden outside. The stairs down to the garden and toilet or upstairs to the upper seating area are steep so may hard for people with mobility issues. I always like to visit when I am in Hampstead. Highly recommended for food or drinks.

I am in this cafe every day and all I can say is it is five star all the way. The owners have created a cosy, welcoming and comfortable space with attention to detail and a lot of care. On top of that the food is the same quality you get from an up market, west end restaurant. The owners are committed to providing fantastic, great quality food and service! Well done New York Cafe!! Love this place, I go there often with my daughter. They have amazing breakfast options, great service, and very nice atmosphere.

Food was terrible poached eggs were rubbery and tasted of vinegar. Customer service was awful, was told I needed to ask how I wanted my poached eggs when they’re always come with a soft yolk. The manager was rude when we asked to take the eggs off the bill and made out like it was our fault. Would not recommend or be returning myself.

This spot is great if you are looking for a nice cozy place to have lunch. The refreshing homemade passion fruit tea is a must to try. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the veggie burger I had ordered that was served with beautifully fried chips on the side. The staffs were very helpful and the manager was always around to tend to the customers. It’s a place I will highly recommend.

Horrible STAFF and NOT VEGETARIAN Friendly! We order the VEGGIE BURGER and they gave us a BEEF BURGER! When it arrived at the table I asked for the staff to confirm (as I always do) if it was the vegetarian , he looked confused but said YES ! and we ate the burger, nowadays veggie patties taste very similar to meat ones so is very hard to know, specially with all the sauces. When the bill arrived I saw “BEEF BURGER” at the bill and asked the staff which burger they gave us because we are vegetarians and we even asked to confirm if it was vegetarian when arrived at the table. The girl who took the order was VERY RUDE, kept trying excuses instead of apologise, said the word “veggie” doesn’t existe just because I pronounced like “Veg” , she said “Well you should have know when you ate it was not vegetarian cause meat doesn’t taste the same” like what?????? Then the staff who brought it to the table LIED, when we said he confirmed it was vegetarian, and everyone on the table was outraged cause everyone heard we asking and he confirming. Them when we said we wouldn’t pay for it they were super rude saying we ate it so we have to pay for it, HELLOOO???? The PROBLEM was that we ATE IT ! Can you imagine if we were muslin or had an allergy ?????? It was a terrible experience and the staff made it even worse. 2 of the 5 dishes we ordered was very bad as well, one of the dishes took forever to come (we ordered it 2 minutes after but the person should have included in the previous order so it all came together!) PLUSSSS, they charged my friends wrongly. It was horrible and I don’t recommend.

I am only giving this star because I have to in order to post this review. Went with a group of friends, first of all the place is overpriced for the dish presentation and amount of food as well. Secondly, unfortunately we had a very bad experience with the service. If you are reading this, you’ll see that even here if they have a bad review they are quite rude with their answers (???) - a lot to learn about costumer experience. Btw my friend is vegetarian and they served meat saying that it was vegetarian, so I don’t think I have to explain more.

I am a regularly customer and New York cafe is always a place I would recommend if you’re coming Hampstead. It’s got the best smoothies and milkshakes!

I went to the New York Cafe with some friends for brunch and we had a horrible experience. My personal bad experience started when I ordered an Avocado Rye that took so long to be delivered because the waitress forgot to take it. When delivered the toast was tasting really bad, like something was off. I left the toast on the plate after some bites. No one checked on me to make sure that everything was ok and I also preferred to do not to complain too much, as I already did when the order took so long to come to the table. But the worst thing that happened, was when my friend ordered a Veggie burger and received a BEEF burger instead. My friend asked the waitress to make sure it was the right burger and he said it was the Veggie burger. He seemed confused but in the end, confirmed. When the bill came they checked that were charged a Beef burger. Asking the staff they were very rude, defensive and insinuating that my friend was wrong and almost using her accent as a motive to bring the wrong order. Also saying that we were fabricating a scene to not pay the bill. Honestly, the worst restaurant experience that I've ever had in London. Not to mention the worst and unhelpful staff. Avoid this place if you can!

I've been a regular here for years and there's a good reason for it. The staff are kind and considerate, the food is deliciously prepared and the atmosphere is really calming and wholesome. And since I'm a regular they even take the time to remember my order. It is definitely a nice place to stop for brunch!

Lovely cafe with excellent food, atmosphere and service. I found it on my way to Hampstead Heath and saw their menu (which was pinned on the window). Sat down and had some American pancakes 🥞 and they were delicious! I came back later in the day for dinner and had a steak, which was also really good (served with 3 different dips)👌🏻 The staff are very friendly and they recommended a wine to go with my steak 🍷 I loved this place and will definitely be stopping here again next time I’m in Hampstead ☺️

Just came in to take a few drinks and cakes for takeaway to have while at the heath. sadly juice and tea packed poorly so spilled less than 3 mins out of the cafe. No tissues - nothing.

We came here from the states in September ‘22 and found this place on our way to Hampstead. It’s a lovely little diner with incredible food and wonderful service. I had a nice conversation with the owner, who was great and I promised I’d quickly review the place as they were fairly new (I believe). Unfortunately it’s taken a while for me to get the review in, but I haven’t forgotten! I highly recommend this place. The food was utterly delicious and we’ll be going back on all future visits to the London area. I can’t recommend it enough, it was just wonderful!

Visited the New York Cafe today for a local brunch option and was pleasantly surprised. The cafe has a casual trendy vibe and service is with a smile welcoming and friendly. Varied menu with a good choice of brekkie, brunch and lunch options served with an American twist. The prices are a little on the higher end at around £15+ per plate however the portions are generous enough and service was quick, easy and efficient. I ordered the full breakfast and the food itself was delish, quality ingredients, cooked well and presented very nicely too. The fresh juice was refreshing and the coffee was great too. Would highly recommend the interesting menu as a real crowd pleaser for catering to different tastes and I look forward to going again to try out more of the menu sometime soon.

Indian styled Omelette was fluffy and very tasty. Lovely garlic, chilli, finely chopped onion delight! & pancake with cream was delicious…Thank you.

Welcoming staff always with a smile. Wild mushroom risotto and pesto Verde penne. All made fresh. Good portions too. Will definitely recommend
