I Thoroughly enjoyed my fish and chips at The Hawes Inn thanks to Chris the Chef. Our waitress Claire was exceptional and extremely helpful with my partners allergens making sure her food was safe to eat. She was very professional and polite which made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I’m sure we’ll visit again sometime soon.

Lovely restaurant - the food was delicious, the waitress Tracy was lovely and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. A lovely place for a family meal (child friendly too)

Really nice meal. Pate starter was braw - nice presentation with sliced toasted ciabata. Passion Fruit Pavlova was excellent. Claire was lovely and did really well in her first week

Had a fantastic meal here last night, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, cannot fault a thing. I've been to a few restaurants in South Queensferry that are popular but this place for me was far superior. Such a cosy place with a relaxed atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back.

What a gorgeous friendly place this is. Staff were lovely. Location is breathtaking. I would highly recommend it.

Destination pub, cracking food and service.

Very good impromptu meal out. Had space on a Saturday night (around 5pm) even with some sort of pirate convention. Good food and drinks and even better company.

Booked a room for 2 nights for a short visit room was very comfortable and clean fods was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful would recommend to anyone if they fancied a place with amazing views of the bridges at Queensferry

My first time here but other people had been before, they have started a new menu. The food was absolutely delicious, every meal ordered was fabulous, I had the signature burger and found it a very big portion and I normally find portions to small, very tasty burger. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating, the owner was lovely and proudly talked about the freshly made items on the menu. First time but definitely not the last, such a great venue and food!!

Tracy the lovely waiter was excellent at serving us today. And I don't know where they found the chef kris from but clearly they are extremely experience that providing fabulous food. I'll be back next week.

The staff where friendly and welcoming even to the dog. There was water and treats for the dog also. The food was first class and service was quick.

Absolutely love this place and am a regular visitor. The food is always great and the service is too. Tracy, who is a regular server there is fabulous, always lovely and friendly. The chef Kris, did a brilliant job tonight. Sunday roast was fantastic!

We had a delicious meal at the Hawes Inn last night. Tracy served us and made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and our table situated by the window, which gave us a breathtaking view of the rail bridge. John the chef excelled himself - we can highly recommend the surf and turf, as well as the lamb skewer with feta salad and tsaziki. An all round perfect evening at the Hawes Inn.

We had lunch on 08.03.25 Our waitress was Tracy and the chef was Kris. Tracy was friendly, helpful and excellent. We didn’t meet Kris but his cooking was good. We loved the interior makeover of the inn

I came in for food today and had a great experience, the girl at the bar I believe her name is Erin was very attentive and had great communication and always had a smile on her face.I certainly left with a smile and will definitely be back soon!

Following a lovely walk from Burntisland to Dalgetty Bay we stopped in Queensferry for a drink. Quite a few bars and restaurants to choose from. On entering my friends went to the bar and I got a table, I checked with a member of staff that table was available although we were just having drinks which he said it was. Bar service was very slow, whilst waiting on refreshments an extremely rude older male member of staff told us to vacate the table as he was seating a couple there as they were ordering food. He was aggressive and impolite. Suffice to say we left the premises without ordering. We did then go to Thirty Knots which was lovely great atmosphere and polite helpful staff. I also spoke to a couple who raced about the food. So definitely return on my next visit.

Very comfortable rooms. Great shower with decent water pressure. Had dinner there the first evening and all 4 of our party were delighted with the choices they made. Extra thumbs up for the coffee and small dessert option. The crumble and custard was excellent. Breakfast was tasty and laid back with light, cooked and brunch options. Off road parking was available.

Service was appalling. Arrived at 2 and no food on table until 3.25 and one meal arrived 10 minutes after the others . In dog friendly area and service was non existent. I’ve been here many times but something terribly wrong on this visit. Doubt we will be back !!

Great menu,food quality good,staff well tuned to dietary requirements and lovely ambience on a Monday night. Will visit again on my next visit to South Queensferry.

Shockingly poor service. The manager was rude & refused to believe the complaints that we presented to him, resulting in an unpleasant, frustrating birthday lunch experience.

Love going to the Hawes Inn, was celebrating my birthday on the 15th February the service by Tracy was excellent, the food by chef kay was lovely gave it 5 stars this time but on a previous visit we would have given 4 stars for the food. The ham & cheese pie we had was tasty but struggled to find any ham. However, will not stop me going back again.

Staff were brilliant and extremely welcoming to my family , food was beyond excellent drinks were amazing would highly recommend it to friends and will be visiting again

got to the restaurant and was made to wait for an hour as they were “too busy” to seat us after we were seated we had a look at the valentines menu which was tonight’s menu When the meal was booked the website wouldn’t let me view what foods/desserts were on the menu The menu had very like on it and none of the foods seemed nice asked if there was another menu to choose from and the woman who I asked said she would ask that’s when we waited another 20 minutes and we were told there was not. When I made a complaint to the manager about the wait on our seats and the lack of decent food on the menu the woman was very rude and condescending We will not be back

Booked 2 beautiful very comfy double rooms on the front facing the iconic bridges. All the staff at the Haws inn were friendly and a special mention to the manager Alan for his 5 star customer service. Absolutely recommend this hotel for a wee getaway. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Long time waiting on starters to come.garilc bread was luke warm and it was very very dry looked more like garlic salt that had been shaken on it . There definitely had not been any garlic butter near it . Main course arrived I ordered the pie of day which looked fab only big problem the short crust pastry was brick hard and I couldn't get my knife or teeth through it sadly. So ate the meat content and the potato and veg which were all very nice and hot which was great .ordered honeycomb ice cream for both deserts and it only came for one not the other it was plain . Mentioned all above to duty manager who said sorry I even showed him how hard the pie case was but were not even give any discount on our bill which was not far off £100 . Which we would have gladly of paid it if everything was OK

Really impressed by the Hawes Inn. Food came out at an impeccable standard for all three of us. Service was brilliant from Tracy - friendly, warm and lots of laughs. Accessibility for a wheelchair user and very dog friendly too. Lovely visit - Thank you!

Had an event in the private room and it was brilliant. Everything was easy and the staff were great. It's a fantastic place, great value and great portions. Roast dinners all around, and already looking to book again. And stunning location.

I used to frequent this pub 2-3 times per week and loved it. However on the last two occasions I’ve found the customer service awful. Staff look miserable and rude. Didn’t even get to the stage of ordering food and ended up in a neighbouring bar where the staff were happy, friendly & helpful.

We had a lovely family lunch today, everyone enjoyed their food and Tracy and Allan from the Hawes Inn were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back

Came tonight for dinner and was impressed great value for the price when the bill came I was really shocked it wasn’t more…. Food was delicious. So accommodating and great atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit.

The Inn is very nicely decorated and furnished. A comfortable but relaxed atmosphere. The Christmas lunch was very well organised and the food extremely good, given the number of people and large groups. Service was efficient. Nice little touches like the place name cards with menu choices were very nice. Overall a great experience for our group of 8.

Great Festive Meal. Best we’ve had and certainly had a few!!

Didn't learn our lesson and went back for another Christmas meal. We were dumped in the doggy area without been asked after having booked the dining room. In this area there was no waiting staff service, just self service for ordering. The table was also too small for five diners. We asked for our child's meal ASAP and they brought out their desert first, and then the starter and main course was delayed until adults were served. Very slow service generally. Not enough cutlery on table for starters, and we couldn't start our main course for the same reason. Bread on starter was dry, not freshly cut. Our starter crockery was still on the table when our mains were brought. Asked for more gravy which didn't arrived until we had almost finished the mains. Green veg on main was lukewarm as was meat. One christmas cracker for 3 christmas menus. Regularly loud ringing house phone was annoying. The food tasted good which was the only positive aspect, pity it wasn't all served at is best.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday with family. The food was delicious and our server was excellent. We will definitely be back in the New Year.

Great food and staff and it's clean

As the organiser, I had hoped that all would go to plan but, unfortunately and due to my error, I pre-ordered the wrong number of starters for our party of 21 folk. Allan very kindly, and promptly, assisted in having the missing items supplied. Thankfully the mains and desserts were all as they should be. The quality of food was excellent, as was the service. I just wanted to write to thank Allan and his team for making sure that we all had a wonderful time, which we did.

My sister in law and I had a lovely afternoon/evening here. Our table was booked for 5pm but we arrived about 2.30 so we could have a drink and a catch up before our meal. We were seated beside a lovely log fire which on a frosty day was very welcoming. The staff were friendly and very attentive. When told my sister in law had allergies, they produced a tablet with a list of food she would be able to select from. Our main course was beautifully displayed when it arrived. Dessert, pavlova, was art on a plate and a lot of eating, but worth every bite. 😊 Highly recommended.

We celebrated our Dad's 90th birthday today at the Hawes. The booked their private room and they really looked after us. The food was fine, the service was excellent and they helped to make sure we gad a great time.

We were staying at the Hawes Inn, so it seemed natural to have our dinner in their dining room and we were not disappointed! Most of our family ordered steaks and they were cooked exactly as ordered. The staff was very friendly, and being a busy evening, did a great job of being attentive as dinner was a little slower coming out. Even our three year old grandson enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience. All in all, a wonderful dining experience!

Food was nice, service only served brunch until 12, app asked for a tip before we even got our food. There were lots of Flys for some reason.

I can only advise against this hotel – there is no reliability. We were a group of six and had booked accommodation at the hotel. On the day of arrival, we received an email three hours before arrival informing us that, unfortunately, a previously agreed-upon late check-in could not take place and that we should find alternative accommodation. The hotel avoided any attempts at communication. Even worse, they charged us cancellation fees. I have never experienced anything like this at a hotel.

Lovely food. Lovely comfortable seating and view from window. Had a warm friendly waitress. Good food. Took advantage of lunch special discount. Not hurried. Very nice experience.

Me and my girlfriend paid a visit today. The staff were fantastic,food was top notch. Hopefully make a trip back in January for my birthday. Stay over a couple of nights. Well done.👏👏👏

Had a lovely breakfast here, I had the Eggs Royale and they certainly weren't stingy on the salmon 😊 would recommend especially before or after a trip with Forth Boat Tours. Lovely attentive staff

Very cosy pub which is what we were looking for after a long day travelling, walked in and couldn’t find a member of staff to actually ask for a table. Eventually we got seated, took some time to make our order and then once we had ordered it took forever for our food to arrive, so stars lost for service. Food arrived cold so star lost on food for this. Had to constantly find a staff member when I wanted a drink or to get the bill. Wasn’t the only one experiencing this as overheard table next to us also complaining. I will still come again as maybe they were having a staff shortage. Really good view out the front of the Forth Bridge.

Food could have been hotter..the actual skewers were cold despite the waitress saying be careful lol. Waitress was quite cold too but warmed a bit. Not so sure if I would revisit for the price.

Been here many yrs ago & it was lovely. Returned 15yr later & wow its changed so much. Beautiful place inside & lovely sitting out on a sunny day. Complements to the chef's as this food was all fresh & ama the flavours. Sorry I never took pics,we had fish & chips, sea bass & the buttermilk chicken burger. All delicious 😋

Decors nice, food was lovely although we ate too much, wait staff were really nice. Male waiter didn't advise the plates were hot (he was just a young guy, maybe new) and they were hot. No glayva or a specific rum, can't remember the name of it. Took quite a while to get out drinks but it was really busy. I'll definitely be back but just a couple of things that could maybe be done differently to make it even better.

Great pub in front of the Forth Bridge on water. Beautiful views. Great menu, friendly staff. Chicken liver was incredible. Look forward to returning.

Had delicious breakfast with a view and the lady in charge was so welcoming and friendly with us and our little girl. Will be back again soon
