I went for brunch/lunch with a friend. Top marks from me - unreal, tasty food (probably best I have had in Edinburgh!) inside such a gorgeously decorated venue. Perfect spot!

Amazing restaurant, bersa is the best

Dinner was mid. However, Bersa made the whole experience 10 times better. She was brilliant, really friendly and gave us the best service.

Great place. Festive decor. The slow cooked beef hash was excellent as was the turkey & brie sandwich. The loaded tots were wonderful. The coffee was rich and satisfying.

Absolutely delicious brunch: we loved the decor, our pancakes and scrambled eggs! The drinks were good too. The only downside: we should have stopped at the savory part, because we appreciated the sweet part much less. The French toast was a huge piece of brioche, but unfortunately without much flavor.

If you’re looking for a great breakfast/brunch spot I can highly recommend this place! They offer a great variety of salty and sweet dishes and all of them are presented in a really creative way. The service is super nice and the atmosphere is very cozy!

The breakfast is very delicious and the cost is 35 pounds for two people. She treated a forgotten woman named I think Sabreen, who is not Arab, but there is an Arab race in her. She was at the height of sophistication and literature. They also have a branch in the Old City.

Very pretty instagrammable place. The food was good, I had the shakshouka and thought it could be a bit spicier. The service was okay and servers were sweet, it was overshadowed by the guy who he seemed to be managing his staff - and came across as a bit aggro/impatient and it was a bit uncomfortable to watch... You should boss and order your staff inside the kitchen not on the restaurant floor.

This is my go to place for brunch in a nice atmosphere. I always take my family and friends here, the quality of the food is amazing. Everything looks great and tastes even better! Always order the tatertots for the table and truffle fries.

I had seen this restaurant recommended on TikTok while planning our trip to Edinburgh and we lucked out that it was just down the street from our hotel. We popped in for brunch this afternoon and had an amazing experience. The service was fantastic, food was incredible and the interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. Absolutely 10/10 experience and highly recommend both the chicken and waffles and the French toast eggs benny.

Top notch breakfast - we ordered three very different meals that were each fresh. delicious and beautifully presented. Very friendly and timely service. The decor is fabulous!

I don't know his name, but you see him serving customers a lot We tried his late breakfast We ordered shakshuka and SCRAMBLED EGGS And halloumi And orange juice And an English teapot, but I have a comment about tea It was light at times, which means tea lovers will not like it Because its taste is closer to tea water, it does not take away its flavour Their toast is toasted, and what we got was whole wheat toast The branch is large, larger than their second branch, which is also in Edinburgh Our account was 237 Saudi riyals I loved everything except the tea. I was hoping it would be better than that

Had my breakfast here two days in a row. Thinking about my third the day after tomorrow!! The place looks great. Staff is extremely friendly and in a good mood. The place just shines because of the staff. Food is amazing as well, a-lot of options, and very good portion size.

This was the highlight of the weekend. Super service with nice and friendly staff. The Ruby Rose cocoa/coffee is a must if you like sweet coffee. The portions are a bit small in relation to the price, but they are good ingredients and then the surroundings and the experience are part of the price. I visited for brunch and had a fabulous time. The Turkish eggs were delicious, the toasted sourdough perfect for dipping. I enjoyed my first Aperol spritz so much, I treated myself to a second and took the time to read another chapter of my book. The staff were friendly and attentive. Shout out also to a fantastic musicals / Disney soundtrack playlist. My only challenge was whether to go sweet or savoury for brunch. Will definitely be back.

Food here was lovely - i was served from the brunch menu even though it was the evening. My waiter William was very attentive and sweet - and made me a lovely drink.

It's not worth the fuss about the shakshuka. I don't recommend it. It has boiled eggs and tomato kashana underneath, and the price is expensive. The scrambled eggs are delicious. Plus, there is a gay flag on the restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn't pay attention to it.

I'm solo travelling and was staying over the road. I had wandered over at 8pm, greeted by the gorgeous staff, ordered a yummy mocktail with edible glitter and the Scottish Salmon. I gotta say, the salmon was the best I've tasted, it melted in my mouth, the mango chilli dressing was good. I even had dessert, chocolate pofitterole. yum yum yum. Went with a friend for dinner here and was blown away, the food was absolutely incredible especially the beef brisket bao bun. Fries were crispy and perfect the goyzas were equally amazing. We both had a cocktail each which were delicious. Would fully recommend to anyone to come here and will 100% be coming back. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a very welcoming atmosphere, staff were both lovely and attentive. It also very nice to see this is also a welcoming space for queer people and my friend and I both who are both queer felt extremely comfortable and relaxed in this lovely space

The restaurant does not accept orders after four in the afternoon I did not enter it because it supports gay people

Feels a little bit overhyped for what it is. You can get this same food in a 10m radius but with more authentic flavors. If I’m paying almost 4£ for cranberry juice I’d expect to receive it in a small bottle and pour it myself, or have the server do it, not have it brought to me in a glass like I’m at a children’s birthday party. Every other table had a jug of water, yet we got brought bottled water which costs extra 5£. I assume they thought we were tourists and could get a few more £ on us. Also, after requesting the bill we had to wait for 10minutes before we got sick of waiting and went to the till. There was no crowd and the servers weren’t busy. All in all, I would avoid this place.

Laila was the BEST restaurant we could have picked to celebrate Pride! My friends and I arrived right at opening and the restaurant was beautifully decorated, great natural lighting, and the service was phenomenal. I ordered a French toast eggs Benedict that blew my mind, & my friend’s food was also so yummy (sharing is caring). I also LOVED that my tea came in a cute tea pot. Seriously, this needs to be more people’s go to place for pride: there was energy and bucket hats and lollipops and flags it was quite an experience 🏳️‍🌈💖 Shoutout to Aurelien and the staff for being so wonderful!!

Pretty space- Maybe we were too early but felt a little kitschy and made for instagram pictures vs a restaurant. Shakshuka was pretty good, could use a bit of spice to it. Chicken and waffles were good. Wish they would have advised that you couldn’t have alcohol before a certain time given we had pre-booked the package that included 2 beverages but it was fine. Overall fun if you’re going for a cute-instagramable brunch.

Took ages for food then my friend had a hair in her food, shame as when the food came was lovely. Ran out of fries also for the kids, got wedges but not my Daughters favourite.

So far, LAILA has been our favorite place to eat since we’ve been in Edinburgh. It’s an excellent spot for brunch. Service was amazing - Darren is so friendly and helpful, he even took some pictures of us in the restaurant. They have Campbell’s haggis, and I highly recommend trying that with the full Scottish breakfast or on the side. I took the plunge, and it’s so delicious. The hot drink menu is also unique and delicious. We will be back tomorrow!

Wonderful atmosphere! Our server Amber was so lovely and accommodating, giving us such good brunch recommendations. I got the ruby waffles with chicken. The small was a perfect portion and the flavors popped and combined well! The creme egg latte for Easter was also so fun and delicious! Overall a great experience and would recommend if you’re in Edinburgh!

The food was unexpectedly good here! We went along without a booking on a Saturday and were seated comfortably. Service was fab, food was really good - chicken flatbread was out of this world! Music was too loud in the front section, but that's just cos we're old and to they reseated us no problem. Will definitely go back

My granddaughter by the name of layla aged 5 had visited laila's. She said i had to go if i was ever in edinburgh. She was absolutely right. It was a great place. Superb pancakes and shakshuka. The manager and the other member of staff were very helpful and polite. Would definitely return. A brilliant recommendation by my 5 year old.

Avoid this restaurant! We came here for a pre-theatre bite this Saturday. Despite telling our server we had just over an hour to eat, our meal still took 40 minutes to arrive. When it did, the gnocchi Sorrenta had no cheese on it and tasted like simple passata with too much salt. It was bland and unpleasant. The beef burger in the pretzel roll had clearly been on the grill for the entire 40 minutes since we ordered as it was grey, dry and like cardboard. Neither me or my husband ate more than a few mouthfuls of our meal. We complained and were told 10% was the maximum discount that could be applied to our food bill - as if we should be thankful for paying £30 for two meals when 90% of them ended up in the bin! Slow, unhelpful service, inedible food. We will NOT be back, and we’ll be avoiding the other restaurants in the same chain.
