Had a really nice Mother’s Day drinks here

Nipped in for a quick pint on a Tuesday evening. Great stuff lovely atmosphere.

On Sunday afternoon, after a 10-minute wait for the kids’ garlic bread, I went to ask how much longer the wait would be. The staff suddenly became a bit intimidated and replied that he had to serve the customers first—"Can’t you see how busy I am?" (There were literally only three customers.) Seriously? Get more staff if you can’t cope, instead of snapping at customers.

Didn't actually eat but the menu had many different options which i thought was worthy of 3 stars alone. Bar staff were really friendly & attentive

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others after my experience at The Harrow Pub. I went there with friends for a casual night out, but what should've been a relaxing time quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. First off, we found a fly in our drink. It was so obvious, I couldn't believe it wasn’t caught by the staff before it got to our table. Naturally, we flagged down the manager to let them know. Instead of apologizing or offering to replace it, the manager had the audacity to tell us that if we wanted a new drink, we’d have to *buy another one*. That’s right — they weren’t even willing to swap it out for free, despite it being their mistake. To make things worse, there was no real apology, just a cold, dismissive attitude. We paid for our drinks, but we won’t be coming back. It’s clear that they don’t care about their customers or providing even basic service. Absolutely appalling! Save your money and go somewhere that values hygiene and customer satisfaction. My response to James: Thank you for your response, though I believe there may still be a misunderstanding regarding the situation. My review was based on a genuine experience, and while we did not use any abusive language, it was the staff who initially raised their voices and acted in a rude manner, which contributed to the escalation. My friends and I were simply trying to address the issue in a respectful way. As for the "fly in our drink" comment, I understand that my wording could have been clearer. However, the issue still stands — a fly was in one of our drinks, and it was the response to that issue that caused the frustration. We expected a basic level of customer service, such as the drink being replaced immediately, which was not initially offered. If a group has a great experience, they are often inclined to leave a positive review, so if someone shares a negative experience, it’s important to remember that feedback is coming from genuine frustration. It's not an "attack" or a coordinated effort, but simply an attempt to share what happened. That being said, I do believe in mutual respect, and we were trying to communicate calmly, which was not reciprocated. I do hope moving forward, any issues customers face are handled with patience and professionalism from both sides. Lastly, we respect the decision to part ways, but we stand by the experience we shared. I hope future customers have a more pleasant time at your establishment.

If I could put a 0 star review I would! Very bad experience at this pub. I came with my family for a few drinks but we were given a drink with a fly in it. We were willing to except a new drink but management were not having it. Despite this being the least they could do, we were continued to be greeted with rudeness and hostility. Would not recommend going to this pub if you are looking for a welcoming atmosphere!

Absolutely awful service, one woman at the bar was looking at us up and down, as an Asian man I felt like this was very discriminative. I’m appalled with her, the rest of the staff and the entirety of the establishment. It’s filthy inside, smelt absolutely atrocious. NEVER GO HERE!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this pub, and I feel it's important to warn others before they decide to go. After being served a drink with a fly floating in it, we politely asked for a new one. However, the manager's response was downright rude and unprofessional. Not only did she insist that we had to buy the drink again, but she also had an attitude that was completely uncalled for. When I asked for a tissue to remove the fly myself, she replied with, "No, you've said our customer service is poor." This response was both unhelpful and offensive. It’s clear the manager lacks basic customer service skills and doesn’t know how to handle situations when things go wrong. What made the experience even worse was that my group and I were the only people of color in the pub, and we felt as though we were being treated unfairly because of it. The manager's dismissive attitude and rude behavior seemed targeted and discriminatory. It felt as though we were being treated as if our concerns didn't matter, and we were met with disrespect simply for raising an issue. I understand that accidents happen, but the way this issue was handled was unacceptable, and the overt racism we experienced only made it worse. I would highly recommend avoiding this pub if you value decent service and respect. There are plenty of other places with far better staff and a more customer-friendly attitude.

they served us a drink and as i started walking it back to my table, i saw there was a fly in it. I took it straight back and the manager refused to replace it, despite having literally just taken it away from the bar. They're clearly too ashamed to admit their ice / glasses / limes are clearly unhygienic and not kept well as they're fly infested (can't imagine what the food is like!). Service was atrocious and rude (hasn't been the first time we've faced a service issue). never coming here again. RUDE RUDE RUDE

Visited mid afternoon, was a few people in drinking but it wasn’t busy. They had a lot of tables available and a lot of TVs showing the football. Very welcoming but when ordering food and asking about a garlic allergy they said they would check, then said it was fine but when the food arrived, it definitely had garlic in. Ordered the meaty classic burger and chips. And the nachos to share. The burger was decent and the chips were standard fries, nice and crispy. The Nachos were an interesting experience. They were cold and the grated cheese had not been melted, but they had added liquid American cheese from a bottle. Plenty of guacamole and sour cream but it not being heated and the cheese situation was bizarre. Maybe they just do Nachos differently here but worth being aware of. Pleasant staff, but would have been nice if they properly checked the food ingredients for the garlic allergy. Obviously has a lot of regulars as a couple of guys loudly commented behind us that we took their usual table. More of a drinking pub or probably a great place for watching sport if you aren’t fussed about eating.

Came here for lunch on Tuesday as I had seen the lunch menu offer advertised online and couldn't have been happier, service was great and the food was brilliant one of the best lunch deals I've had in a while !! Will make sure to come back again with others!

We had a great visit to the Harrow this afternoon, the food was quickly served and the pub has a super chilled atmosphere. We were served by Danielle who recommended the lunch meal deals- saving a bit on the burger 😊, thanks also to Perry in the kitchen for the quick service! Would recommend popping down as the staff are incredibly friendly and provide great service!

£3.75 for this plate of chips, come on guys, make people want to return for drinks and small plates of food. If I spilt these chips on the floor, I’d have trouble finding them.

Been a few times for the bottomless brunch here it's always a good deal. Joe and Hannah were very attentive and it's good value for money.

not a pub it’s a weird place go to the prince of wales or the railway pub they are actually pubs go have a look for yourself it’s just weird in there not patriotic or have the pub vibe.

Defo won’t be eating here again. Literally forgot half our meal after we had to send back the Avocado and Pesto salad as there was a quarter of an avocado that was rock solid not what you expect for a £13.5 salad , don’t really write any bad reviews ever but this place was really bad.

Took our money for bookings and then told us we can’t get our table for the euros final even though we came early because they couldn’t do their job and get the people on our table off. Same for at least 40 other people. Joke of a place don’t ever trust the manager or booking system all greed and lies

Had a great bottomless Brunch at the Harrow, food was great and there is a great selection of beers with the bottomless (better then any ever bottomless I've been too) Big shout to Joe who made our time even better!

Great lunch here. Burrito Bowl was delicious as was the Mac n Cheese. Staff are lovely.

Not been for a while , thought I'd meet friends in there on a Saturday night recently. Livley crowd of all ages made for a good atmosphere. Has been refurbished since last there, and the pub looks good . Plenty of staff and a good selection of drinks . One of our group ordered food,(pizza). Had a slice , very nice . Will be returning.

Visited here several times as they are dog friendly and we can sit inside with the dogs. Food is good but the menu needs updating. It needs a bit of variety and certainly more choice in desserts. I understand people go in here for the sport etc. as there can't be a chair in the place that can't see two or more screens but it has a great location in the village and could be so much more.

Date of visit: 10/3/24 Positives: - Easy to make a reservation online. - High chair we requested was ready at the table when we arrived. - Nice food - Food arrived quickly (within 15 mins from ordering) and stayed hot for a long time. - The dining area and toilets were clean and tidy. Areas for improvement: - Staff should inform customers (or put a sign on the table/ on the menu next to the QR code) stating that customers cannot claim a refund of the parking charge if they order through the QR code/ app). Also, the sign in the car park could also be clearer by stating the refund offer is not available when ordering through the app. - Acknowledge the point above as valid feedback rather than ignoring it and being dismissive, defensive and condescending by implying we should have known we couldn't get a parking charge refund through the app because the app didn't prompt us for a voucher code or have a refund button. Also, don't make excuses like "The car park has nothing to do with us" when the sign clearly states it's managed on behalf of the landowner and the car park is solely for customers and staff of the pub. If the member of staff we spoke to handled the feedback in a more professional way and didn't walk away during the conversation we would have rated the service 4 stars. People sitting near us commented on the lack of professionalism from the staff member. It's a shame this overshadowed an otherwise good first visit to The Harrow. We would have scored the food 5 stars if they served sunday roasts (i.e. a tiny bit more variety on the menu).

Had a lovely big burger yesterday at this very nice pub and must say very delicious and the staff are very friendly.

As a family of 4 adults and 4 teens we ordered 8 meals and drinks. 2 of us ordered Burrito Bowls and paid an extra £ 2.50 for beef to be added. When the bowl came out, we questioned if there was beef in the sauce and we were told that there was beef… these plates went back to the kitchen. When returned it looked like more “sauce” was added. We once again asked where was the beef… the male staff member literally did not entertain our question and answered us as he walking away from us in a loud tone that “yes there is beef in there.” So many issues with this entire process. Firstly orders are online done by the customer themselves. Order a drink - go to the counter or through your phone. Secondly we are requested to pay a tip BEFORE we have even experienced the service. I generally have no issue with this except when the front of house lets down the entire team. The service the staff offer is literally a delivery service. There is very little effort required from the staff themselves (pulling drinks is the exception) and yet the attitude that comes with dealing with the clients seems unnecessary in a time when having a job in this economical climate is a privilege.

Great pub with a nice atmosphere and lots of TVs to watch various sports on, depending on the day. There's a pool table and a decent variety of beer, mostly tap. The prices are vert reasonable and the food was great with solid portion sizes - definitely full by the end of lunch! Will be returning!
