Excellent traditional pub close to Charing X and Covent Garden. Good selection of traditional draught ales, as well as the usual lagers and stouts. Efficient, friendly bar staff - even when really busy they can cope well. Small pavement strips out front and round back in the alley to drink outside if its a bit too claustrophobic for you; but don't stray too far with your drink otherwise you might be reprimanded! Reasonably priced for central London with a pint typically costing £5.50 to £6.

The Harp is a true London institution and has been known for its well kept ales for decades . Thankfully after its purchase by Fullers in 2014 the pub pretty much remained as it was. Portraits adorn the walls and the area above the bar is plastered with pump clips . The bar is narrow and it can get exceptionally busy at times. No queuing here, the bar staff are attentive and efficient. Its popularity can also be put down to its location being so close to covent garden and Charing cross station The ebb and flow of the theatre goers is noticeable if you find yourself there in the evening . Cask ale aficionados will be aware that the pub offers a 50p discount to card carrying CAMRA members . Up in there in my top 10 must visit pubs in London

Very disappointing. Used to be a great pub - not anymore. The staff, all young were not well trained and totally unprofessional. 1 female member of staff was wearing running/exercise clothes, the others looked scruffy. No engagement with the public, as more interested in talking to their friends or checking their phones. When we asked for beer recommendations we were just offered random tastes - not a clue about their products. The staff began cleaning up way before closing time so the pub had a smell of disinfectant - not pleasant! When asking people to finish up drinks the staff were incredibly rude, especially the one in the exercise clothes. This they were happy to continue serving their friends who were at the bar. This used to be a great bar, well run and professional and a pleasure to visit, no more. Will not return and wouldn't recommend.

I go to pubs in the area but not this one in a while. Was shocked. Nice pint but that’s not the point!!! You can still get an ale under 6 and even under a fiver. Shop around. This is a very popular pub with real ale drinkers, evidenced by the 10 cask beers and the hundreds of beer mats above the bar. It is a narrow pub with additional seating upstairs. Being near to both Covent Garden and Soho it is ideally located. I was here at 4pm on a Monday afternoon and it was quite busy. There is a designated standing area out back but many drinkers preferred to drink in the street out front. The toilets are upstairs and accessed by a steep, narrow staircase that could prove problematic for the less mobile.
