Classic and authentic English pub. Amazing array of gin. Huzzah!

I made the journey across town to try an Old Mill Black Jack cask ale . The pub is located in a very busy area in the city so it was nice to step into a calm pub on a sunny afternoon. The interior has a lot of natural light pouring in from above and there are many nods to Punch . My cask ale was poured northern style with a sparkler. It suited the style well and the beer was in good condition. The price was reasonable for the area. Worth a visit to see what cask beers they have on . The club sandwiches also looked decent

Was a neat place to stop for a drink. The service and choices were good. However, we paid over 3£ for a small bowl of Wasabi chicken peas. It's not worth it.

Great staff and fab atmosphere. Special shout out to Viki who spoke through about half the drinks menu to find me my perfect drink.

Went for a casual meet up with some friends, we were served by Viki, she was very kind and attentive, really appreciated how quick she was with our drinks!

This is a great Gin bar with delicious appetizers, like fried halloumi. The seabass is amazing!

I needed a nice, comfortable place to get a straightforward pint, on St. Patty's, after a flight from the States. The Punch Tavern did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and accommodating, despite it being quite busy, and the fish and chips were hot and hit the spot. I just wish there was some bar seating.

There really is a lot of gin. It was nice to have a drink and get out of the summer heat for a sit down.

Hidden treasure that packs a punch. A narrow alley lobby entrance off Fleet Street is highly decorated with gorgeous heritage paterned, gloss tiling & paintings of the Punch namesake. The decoratively cut glass, grand doorway leads into a pub whose only windows are the Victorian arcade ornate, ornate plaster, wood & decoratively frosted glazed skylights. The remaining ceiling is original pattern papered & ornate coving over all round large wall mirrors. The cozy hall hideaway is popular with local regulars in a chilled, vibe sound on pews, padded bench seating, low & high stools. Modernfurbished hanging lights add to the friendly atmosphere over a beautiful large marble & carved wood terraced fireplace inlaid with mirrors across from the back corner but large L bar & it's modern frame back bar set in the original, decorative wood pillared, pattern frosted heritage back bar serving a good selection on tap from a professional, experienced team. Punch pieces of art decorate spare spaces in a pub that clearly punches high & lands with confidence.

Ok so I was actually aiming for Bell Tavern next door but it was shut on a Sunday, took a punt on Punch Tavern and it's actually great. Beautiful Victorian pub, delicious roast dinner, half a chicken! Ending up staying for a couple of hours as was so nice.

Tourist Trap- Asked for 2 for 1 gin offer on board outside (within times) was charged £30 for two drinks. When seeing the price questioned it was met with escuses asked to change it and he refused. Made it clear I would post online. Sudden 'helpfulness' now this IS online. Watch for more escuses. I kept my bargain

Stopped in by relative accident on our first night and London and couldn’t be happier we did. Food was excellent and the service was as well. Great vibe and history made it a great experience.

También tienen un personal de barman muy bien informado que puede preguntarle sobre su perfil de sabor y elegir una ginebra que creen que le gustaría. También un lugar con un poco de historia genial para aprender. Son bastante grandes por dentro, así que puedes tener la oportunidad de sentarte. Diría que me sorprendió mucho lo mucho que disfruté de este lugar.

A nice pub with a great food and drink offering - it was pretty full on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was lovely. We stayed for a drink and a chat and I enjoyed my stay. Slightly on the expensive side. All I got was a picture of the loos 🥲.

Le preguntamos a la chica detrás de la barra si aceptaban dinero escocés 💰, ella fue y consultó con su jefe y regresó y dijo que sí aceptarían nuestro dinero 💰. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y cómodos. Cuando vamos a Londres ahora pasamos nuestro tiempo libre en la taberna Punch. Es mi pub favorito más amable de Londres. One of several ancient pubs in Fleet street. Named after the satirical magazine Punch. Good selection of gins and beer. Inside nicely decorated. Recommended

Excellent place, the owner was very kind and let me taste the various gins before choosing which one to try since it was the first time I drank it. It was exceptional. Then we had the classic fish & chips which was also amazing. Furthermore, the place has a crazy charm, congratulations

Called in to Punch tavern at the end of our Fleet Street bar tour. It’s either first or last whichever way you go. But it’s one certainty not to be missed., it has a wide variety of largers and beers served to you by knowledgeable friendly staff. It had a great buzz about the place around lunchtime, unfortunately we did not try the food but others looked to be enjoying it. I will certainly be back

The pub itself is comfortable, in a good location, dog-friendly and the staff are nice. The fish was a bit too greasy but the skin-on-chips and halloumi fries were nice. I wasn't so happy with the 12.5% service charge when you go up to the counter yourself to order but I only realised after I paid, also the prices on their website don't match the prices on their menus unfortunately.

Cool pub with a good atmosphere. Cocktails were good, and the service wasn't bad either. A good place to go if you're looking for after work drinks and light nibbles, we tried the halloumi fries, padron peppers, and the wings which were all good.

Had a lovely sunday lunch there - the waitress and staff were absolutely lovely, and such nice atmosphere inside. My parents and I both loved the food - very flavourful and delicious. Looking forward to bringing friends and family next time they're visiting the city. X

Stopped in on a Sunday evening to close out a weekend trip to London. Very cool place with fantastic food, drinks, and service. Sunday roast menu was amazing, easily the best meal of our trip! Ewa took great care of us and made our experience even better. Didn’t catch the bartender’s name but her drinks were delicious as well. Highly recommend!

On 5/8/24 approximately 8pm as a group of 4 we took a couple from Austria to experience the delights of an authentic old London pub. Unfortunately we were completely dissatisfied with not only the service but poor quality of food . When I requested a more tentative service having to leave my dinner to request our drinks to be replenished and have some condiments I faced an abrupt response from the shorter dark barmaid , she remarked we’re short staffed and expecting that somehow I should have been aware ? ? ….the appalling meal which wasn’t served together, we had to wait awhile for the 4th plate before starting. I was embarrassed and could only apologise to our visitors and my friend regarding the poor quality of the fried fish dripping in oil and soggy , and the schnitzel which he was tasteless and had a texture similar to a stiff piece of rubber disguised in breadcrumbs . Good luck 🤞

The new manager Alex is a real gem! He really made us feel welcome and was very charismatic. The food was lovely and I highly recommend going here!!

Extremely disappointed in the service and lack of customer care. I came here for a quick meal before going to nearby theatre. I ordered a Caesar salad, after being clearly asked about allergies and stating that I am celiac and even being diverted away from dishes incase of them containing gluten. Therefore when ordering the salad it was clear I needed any bread or croutons to be removed. My food came with ignorance and no consideration, and as you can see in the photo, filled with bread and croutons ( on the napkin ) . I spoke to the staff when he brought the rest of our order and explained the issue. It was completely disregarded, and the gentleman literally said: "Is there anything else I can do for you?!" No apology or offer to replace the dish.... My friend and I witnessed them discussing the situation between the staff members and nobody cared to apologise or acknowledge the severity of this. Staff are simply ticking company boxes and ignoring health conditions. Not my best £64 spent.

We had a lovely lunch on a Sunday. We really enjoyed the sunday roast, even the vegetarian option was really good!!! Amazing sticky toffee pudding as well. Great food, drinks and the staff was absolutely amazing.

Visited the punch tavern many years ago, was nice to go back recently. The tavern looked like it had been refreshed, so looked very smart. Good service at the bar. Sadly did not have time to eat here, perhaps next time.

We booked to come in to the Punch Tavern to end a ‘History of London in Four Drinks’ tour. We did three tours over three days in July, Each time, we had friendly and efficient service. A great choice of gins and good beers. The clients loved the history and the atmosphere and I was impressed by how well we were looked after. I stayed for a burger after and I have to say that this was one of the best I have had. The perfect end to a lovely day.

After a day of exploring the city with our kids, this was the perfect pub. Our server, Ewa, was fantastic and attentive to our kids as well as quick to bring out our food and pints. We’ll stop in again!

The staff didn’t seem to know their job. Two out of three gins on the menu were missing and they didn’t really know how to replace them. Then we ordered a dish, they charged us and then came back and said they were out of it - bought salad instead - no offer to reduce the bill. Just overall not good experience. Fish and chips sucked.
