Went into here for a pre-dinner drink. Expected to be ignored and unwelcomed. I couldn't have been more wrong. Great place. Great atmosphere. It was like your old dads local. Everybody in the conversation - no quarter given. You can have a view if you can substantiate it. Will be going back here...

Had an impromptu session last Saturday night watching the rugby on TV . Then can back later for pool. Limited real ale options, but draught IPA great. Guinness good and some good whiskies. Landlord and landlady really friendly. The pub does not do food, is basic but atmospheric . If you like a good drinking pub with friendly atmosphere, this is for you.

Local knowledge had advised me to pop in here when visiting the curry house next door. Very pleasant bar staff. Locals tended to keep to their own conversation. Reasonable prices too.

We were put off the first night we stayed in Corwen as there was a big skip filled with junk outside. We went in the next day and what a treat. Spacious, clean and a great pint.

Like a few other reviewers, we also visited the pub when we traveled to Corwen on the Steam Train from Llangollen. Having our young son with us we weren't completely sure if Children would be welcome, after all, this isn't a holiday resort in the accepted sense, even though it does welcome visitors. We got talking to a local resident, who recommended the pub to us. We received a very warm welcome from the landlord, and were treated to a free game of Fiercely contested pool , quickly followed by an equally ruthless game of darts! The Pub is a traditional place

Visited the Harp during a recent trip to Corwen on the steam train. The pub was recommended to us by a local, and we weren't disappointed. We were given a warm welcome by the very professional landlord. My husband and son enjoyed some hotly-contested games of pool and darts, whilst the bar serves real ale and an impressive range of spirits. However, please note that no food is available. This is a traditional pub of character, right in the town centre. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day. Thanks to Phil for looking after us so well. Highly recommended.

We have often passed through the town but we decided the call in for a drink not very impressed with the interior of the pub and when we bought a drink we were short changed by £10 which we queried guess we will just pass through next time as we were not impressed

Great little pub next to the local Indian, good beer and very frendly and helpful staff. Supplied us for drink next door and also watched Wales soccer match.

Called in on a saturday afternoon. One ale on which was good. Locals were friendly. Not much going for the pub BUT a really friendly landlord who went a long way to talk to us share some local knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Offered us free pool and to loan some darts. The pub would probably get a 2 or 3 but the welcome pushed it to a 4.

Doesn't look much from the outside but it's fairly big inside. We got a warm welcome from the landlady and were made to feel very welcome in this friendly town centre pub.

Went in for a quick drink, the atmosphere was good, lots of drink choices which Mike behind the bar was really great with helping us decide what to have. We will definitely be visiting again when we are back in Wales.

We only had half-an-hour between trains but we were quickly served in this traditional GWR style cafe. It has outside seating as well and the ham and cheese rolls were a walk back in time to my childhood at Ilfracombe station cafe. Friendly staff, good prices and refreshing tea with all the trimmings. No food allowed in the First Class areas.

Ordered a cheeseburger to take out and I have to say it's the first time I have had a cheeseburger with grated cheese and the cheese not melted, I opened the the tray and immediately thought somethings not right with this, it had grated cheese on it which was cold and the burger itself did not seem hot. Sat on the beach wall to eat it and on biting into it realised it was lukewarm at best and the cheese was never going to melt, the centre of the burger looked undercooked and pinkish in colour.Threw it into the bin.The elderly couple who run this place have been doing so for years so you'd have thought they could at least knock up a decent cheeseburger, HOT BURGER AND MELTED CHEESE PLEASE????

So lovely warm greeting I ordered two strong hot chocolates and a round of Welsh cakes which was duly served and the hot chocolate was nice a strong full of flavour. The staff were friendly chatty and took genuine interest in who you were. I would highly recommend this cafe

Stayed for three nights for our 47th wedding anniversary, our room was clean and serviced daily. Nice crisp bed linen and fresh towels, a lot of money has been spent on refurbishment and there is still work to do. Lovely flowers outside and the views from our balcony were stunning, you must book a room with a balcony as the others back on to the canal. The restaurant does not serve an a,la carte menu, but the food we had was lovely and we enjoyed it. Parking was a problem, i feel that the limited parking spaces by the Hotel should be for staying guests only as the other car park is a bit of a route march and not suitable for those who have difficulty walking. All in all it was a most enjoyable stay but those of us with a more mature figure could do with a Kingsize bed.
