Just from from a great Sunday lunch with friends, the carveries were excellent, good quality meats served with, roast potatoes, mash, roast parsnips and carrotts, green beans, sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, fresh not frozen. Our friends had meals off the main menu and they were very happy. Sue our waitress was lovely as was Zoe the chef, we have booked in for the 1st September. A minor christm was that service was a little slow, but Sue kept us informed. We'll done

Some staff were great , was a big function. Bar staff very slow .very surprised management were not keeping on top of this , ridiculous slow service. Iv owned pubs spirits watered down or barley there . They are definitely cheating on the drinks . They maybe can’t get away with it in the actual bar with drinks done In front of them . Iv ran pubs 5-10 mins for 3 drinks. And like pop watching everyone while I’m sober and they are buying tons shorts shots and beers , and myself buying a few and wondering why the staff takes 5 mins to get me two drinks away from my site . Iv ran pubs I’d sack them or the owner is up to no good.

Just had a meal at the Hare and Hounds and felt compelled to write a review straight away as it was awful. We were there for a family meal and the food took over an hour and a half to materialise. We had two children who were beyond bored. Good job we'd brought some colouring. We were offered some free drinks when we complained for the third time so got a round of soft drinks but no explanation for the long wait. The bar was empty inside. The food when it arrived was poor quality and by the time it arrived we were all too angry to enjoy it. My chips were basically pockets of oil as so overfried. I sent it back and just got a refund and didnt eat. Our child's chicken nuggets were very poor quality. She didn't eat her meal. No proper menus even - just photocopies. Left before getting the kid's included icecream - which says it all. My youngest liked her pasta so that was something. This has been a pub attended by our family for years and we have had many good meals and evenings here. Never again!!

So, obviously there are others that have not enjoyed have a meal here, however we chose the Hare & Hounds as somewhere we had not been for a long time. Having sat down the young waiter was very attentive to our needs and to be honest nothing was to much trouble. The food was of a very good quality and standard for a pub, which this day and age is seldom heard of. Would we recommend this pub and come back, definitely. Who ever reads this review I sincerely hope you have a fantastic experience. For my wife's 60th birthday it was a delight to come here.

My wife and I held our wedding service and reception at The Hare and Hounds in August. From start to finish Kellie and her team went above and beyond helping to make our wedding a success and give lasting memories to us and our guests for the rest of our lives. The ceremony room is intimate and beautiful and the best we saw when looking at potential venues.Meanwhile the function room is lovely too with plenty of room and a decking area to spill out on if the weather is nice which it was for us. The food was AMAZING!! Both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. All of our guests dietary requirements were met without compromise on quality of food. A lot of our guests will be returning to the venue for meals on the basis of the food served to them especially our vegetarian guests. We cannot recommend highly enough this venue for your wedding ceremony and reception. We weren't treated as customers we were treated as friends and so were our guests. Thank you so much to all at The Hare and Hounds.

My wife and myself decided to go somewhere different, for a Saturday evening dinner, on 21/10/23 from the normal venues we attend. We decided to go to the Hare and Hounds in Watery Lane, Keresley. I telephoned the pub around 12:30 on the Saturday afternoon and made a booking for a table for 2 in the restaurant, as I could see from the website that there would be a live band performing in the main part of the pub, later in the evening. We arrived at the Hare and Hounds around quarter past six in the evening, a little bit earlier than the booking, which was made for half past six. We went into the bar/lounge area and ordered drinks, and mentioned to the bar staff that we made a reservation in the restaurant, the bar staff stated that they had just turned the lights off in the restaurant, however they would put the lights back on, but they we not aware of our reservation. Apparently the young lady who answered the telephone and taken our booking, had not passed the message onto other staff, and was then attending to a wedding reception in the function room🤔. We ordered our starters, Stilton Mushrooms and Cajun Halloumi Fries, and after a moderate wait, they arrived at the table. The Stilton sauce on the mushrooms was a bit watery, but was easily soaked up with the warm baguette that came with the dish. My wife’s Cajun halloumi fries with chilli sauce dip and side salad was, according to my wife absolutely lovely. Onto main meals - I ordered the 8oz rump steak, cooked medium to well, and my wife ordered the chicken Kiev meal. The main meals were delicious😋, the rump steak was cooked absolutely perfect, with a peppercorn sauce complimenting it, the rosemary seasoned fries were very tasty also. Would we return? Yes, we would like to try the Sunday roast dinner in the near future. Except for the initial breakdown in communication over our table reservation, we had good service from the staff who took our food order, and served our meals.👍

We had been invited here for a surprise anniversary party that had been setup for some friends. There were the best part of 30 of us in attendance. The staff who so helpful and friendly and no-one had any complaints about any of the food or drinks ordered. A very good evening was had by all.

God help this place, it will be knocked down and turned into a housing estate soon I’m sure. 4 of us dined here and the 4 of us won’t be back! Vegan burgers were rock hard they were that burnt. Left my sister and her daughters mouth/teeth black every time they tried taking a bite. I had a pizza and when I say I brought the EXACT same Chicago town pizza from Tesco last week I mean it. I didn’t like it when I brought it for £2.99 and shoved it in the oven myself and I certainly didn’t like it when I had a “chef” cook it for me here for £11.50, thankfully I ordered a side of chips so I ate most of them but you can’t really go wrong with frozen chips. McCain ones to be exact, funnily enough I have those in my freezer too. The Chicken Kiev was dog s**t too. Morale of the story, if you think your dining at a nice countryside pub with delicious homemade recipes…think again.

We booked out the restaurant for our wedding reception meal on 5th June 2023. We had an intimate wedding with 34 guests and found the restaurant to be the perfect size for this. The Hare and Hounds were very accommodating and able to meet all of our needs. As we booked the restaurant, we were able to order in advance from the larger bookings menu which consisted of a large of meals. There really was something for everyone, which was really important to us as our party consisted of vegetarians, gluten free diets and people with autism. The room had speakers for us to play our own music and there is an option to pay for decorations directly through the events team too. We decided to pay for table and chair covers but to source the rest of the decorations ourselves but we found what we ordered to be very reasonably priced. Even more so because we did not have to pay for the room itself other than a small deposit. I was able to contact Kelly and Sue via email or phone call throughout the whole planning process as we are not local to coventry and they were always happy to help. Other great facilities include a large car park, high chairs and baby changing facilities, disabled access and a disabled toilet.

I needed a venue for a meeting at short notice. One that could provide food and drinks for at least 10 people. The Hare and Hounds found us a quiet spot for the meeting and served us with great food. Staff were really helpful and food and drink was great. I will definitely be going there again. Thank you to the staff and management 👌.

went for sunday dinner. the staff were great and so was the service. The food was lovely and as for the price. I do not know how they do it. Really reasonable. Absolutely worth trying this place. We will be returning very soon. Great Visit.

The staff were fantastic and really deserve recognition for going above and beyond. They are not quite there with their vegan options as they weren’t sure which items were vegan. The veg on the roast vegetables were cooked in butter and we were not informed which meant the vegan in our party ended up with a non vegan meal which would be a problem for someone with a dairy intolerance. The staff were very apologetic about this and I think will learn from this experience. They aren’t quite ready to cater for vegans.

We wish to pass on our thanks to the staff for looking after us so well from the arrangements to the final farewell to our brother. Our relatives from Wales were impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and also wish to thank them The hot buffet was excellent and well received by everyone As a family we have celebrated a retirement, Birthdays and recently a Celebration of life Highly recommend a visit

Had a Sunday lunch delivered due to working and as we have not done this before we did not know what to expect but it was absolutely excellent a fast delivery and very carefully packaged and the food was as good as I have had in any restaurant. Well Done.

We had a table booked for 21 to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Everything was booked and food ordered easily, the food was lovely and plentiful and presented perfectly - service was great, nothing was too much trouble with nice friendly staff - everybody thoroughly enjoyed the meal and my husband and I were given a free meal each as a gift. Went in there today with my Husband. Had a drink and then decided to have something to eat. I had the salmon, buttered green beans rosemary salted chips served with a bearnais sauce. My husband had the ham ploughman's. Both dishes were excellent! My meal was cooked to perfection, and as for my husband's ploughman's well what can we say?! It was well worth it! Friendly welcoming staff and really good service. Definitely will go again. Highly recommended

We had a table booked for 13 to celebrate my birthday and wow did they make it special - food was lovely and presented perfectly - service was perfect nice friendly staff - everybody thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

After a challenging start with options for the vegetarian meals, the chef came and spoke to me directly about the available meals. It was so nice to be able to speak to the person cooking my food and really was a personal touch to make sure I was happy with the food and choices. Food was delicious, both the steak and vegetarian food. Can't fault the food or the service. Thank you for turning a worrying start into a lovely meal and evening out.

We held a party for my daughters 16th at the Pavilion, Hare and Hound. The management were very accommodating and provided exactly what was discussed and required. Staff were on hand to set up and made the event run smoothly. The evening went really well. Thank you to all involved.

This is a lovely pub & they designated one area as adult only…( there are small signs on each table )leaving a larger part of the pub for families which gives you the option of where to sit, However this is not enforced and children...

Hawaian pizza best I have had- will be back tomorrow - made crispy and hot, was quick aswell plus they do delivery !

I feel obliged to write this in response to the previous comments about the management \ venue which are wholly inaccurate especially without any context being given.

We used this place for a family retirement, I have never been so insulted in a long time, bar staff was rude, management doesn’t have very good management skills making false accusations about people should not take place in this environment, the motto in customer service is “customer is right” . A lot off money would have been paid out for this celebration with only poor food being offered. I haven’t been to this place in years thanks to a bad experience here before and I certainly will never be using this place again.

Went out for Sunday dinner and decided to try here. Very glad we did. The staff were polite and friendly, the food was amazing - three courses for £12 and worth every penny. Each course was tasty, fresh and well presented and the portion size...

We came today for a family meal with 18 of us in total. We had a section of the restaurant to ourselves..The 3 course roast off the Sunday menu was reasonably priced. The meal itself was excellent, and home cooked. Staff were all friendly. Lovely...

Called in for some food and drinks was served by a lady with horrendous over the top eyelashes. Food arrived promptly however part of our order missing and had to grab our own cutlery and sauces, no napkins at hand. It seems a very old...

This establishment seems to have lost it mojo, staff were friendly and helpful but the environment needs updating and the food was ok. Hopefully it will pick up as it has great location and a large carpark

Food is mainly just warmed up in the microwave so don't expect it fresh. The plates and cutlery need updating, even the Victorians would say it's old fashioned.

We came in for drink 2pints and 2double baileys 18pounds but the baileys was out of an Aldi bottle at baileys price when I asked about it I was told it's the same I shall be getting in touch with trading standards

We always popped in for a carvery here and it was good, but they now just do a roast dinner which you order at the bar. We were told we could still have all 3 meats so the choice was still available. When the food came (within 10 minutes) there was plenty of meat, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, stuffing and parsnips. The plate already had gravy and they also brought a gravy boat. Then we were brought extra vegetables, mashed potato and a potato, mushroom creamy concoction which tasted amazing. The whole meal was the tastiest we've had in a long time and for £6.99 you cannot beat it. Would recommend 100%

Esperamos una hora y media, sólo tenía que empezar (quemado y roca sólida rúbrica "setas") sólo estoy realmente conmovedora cuando comenzó nuestra mesa y otras dos mesas de al lado se quejaron 3 veces. El director se excusaron diciendo 'no sé el primer plato salió, no hay más que hacer". La mesa de al lado nos envió sus comidas y sus vasos estaban sucios. La comida era horrible, el servicio era espantosa, ambiente existía. El esqueleto se suponía que iba a ser una decoración de halloween pero probablemente era un cliente que había estado esperando por la comida. Sin duda chocante - no vamos a volver de nuevo.

Después de oír que el pub estaba bajo una nueva dirección, decidimos visitar después de una mala experiencia anterior hace unos años. El personal era encantador, especialmente el joven camarera que hicieron un alboroto de mi hija. La comida era muy buena y a un precio razonable y de buen tamaño de las porciones. Ya tenemos ganas de volver a visitar de nuevo.

Mi amigo y yo tuvimos una comida aquí el viernes pasado y fue pescado y noche chip. La comida era genial - pescado preciosa, con buena pasta crujientes patatas fritas y guisantes, macizos blandos. Nuestra camarera era muy servicial y amable, ella es una estrella. La tarta de chocolate fudge era enorme, así que estamos contentos de haber compartido! El ambiente es bueno y el lugar es limpio y ordenado. Hay karaoke los viernes. Es un gran lugar para familias, amigos y parejas. Sin duda regresaremos a probar una de las otras noches. Gracias

To be honest the Hare and Hounds although my nearest pub has been a place we have tended to avoid over the last few years. Tonight's visit was a really pleasant experience. All three of our meals were excellent and the Rump steaks were of a very high standard. Excellent quality meat well cooked. Staff were much more friendly and the service was excellent and the meal was pretty good value too. My pint of Bombardier was beautifully kept. A great improvement and I hope the new managers keep up the good work.

We held our wedding reception here in may this year . Kelly and the team were brilliant . The food was excellent and hot and all our guests all commented on how nice the food was. Kelly was helpful right from the start making sure our day went well . We had a wonderful day with lots of memories made. This wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for Kelly and her team. Thank you. Mum's not served at all.After me going to check when My Mother will have anything to eat....hardly anyone to ask....in the end nice girl said she will check and let me know she came back....my Mums food wasn't even ordered at the kitchen...she asked what she can get us I ve said whatever but quick.....after 20 minutes average fish and chips arrived ...evening ruined....Also the bartender who was taking my order....with that kind of face should be working at funeral directors not in the pub

Kellie and her team were so helpful, in arranging my daughters 18th birthday party, including recommending a disco for the evening. Kellie also arranged for extra drinks that we knew would be popular, so that people would not be disappointed if they ran out. The room looked lovely on the evening, and the staff attending the bar on the evening, were really friendly. So that I had piece of mind, all of my daughters friends were asked to provide ID at the beginning of the evening (as not all of them were 18), and then a stamp applied to their hands. My daughter and her friends had a fantastic evening, and she now has some wonderful memories of her special birthday - all thanks to Kellie and her team. Would definitely recommend this function room for any party/

This is our second visit since the new management took over and last time we were told a new chef would be introduced soon with a new menuWell........a large group of us arrived to our pre booked table with most if us having a carvery.What a disappointment, the food was truly vile, they had ran out of any pork and the turkey was soarce but dry anyway. The beef was dried out and tasteless.To top it all off the "roast potatoes" were deep fried, either new potatoes or tinned potatoesAs a carvery lover I can enjoy an ok carvery but this was awfulTo be fair the veg wAs nice, a good selection and home made cauliflower cheese, but with bland, dry meat and tasteless gravy the whole experience was dierWe won't be returning! Shame really as the location is nice with a nice park for the kids and our waitress was faultless but the food was awful and the wine wasn't nice either

After a particular bad experience at this restaurant in the past i was keen to revisit after being informed that it was now under new management. It was a Saturday evening and although the bar was very busy the restaurant was very quiet so maybe that should have been a warning. The young waiter handed us the menus and i was surprised that they were just PAPER menus, not covered in plastic or lamented and they were filthy, covered in food stains ! However as the food looked good i decided to stay.... i ordered a bottle of white wine and when it come to the table there was no wine cooler so i asked for one and was told they were all being used at the wedding reception. When i touched the bottle it was actually warm i explained to the waiter and asked if there was any colder in the fridge and he said no, i explained that i was not prepared to drink it so could i change it to a red wine instead, also the glass was dirty with lipstick marks and fingerprints all over the glass. He took the bottle and glass away only to return the original bottle and a plastic jug of water with a few ice cubes floating on the top. He explained that he had been informed that the bottle could not be changed as it had been opened, but that the cold water would cool it down!! i actually felt sorry for the young waiter as obviously he was feeling out of his depth and no one more senior seemed keen to address the problem. I responded that i had not opened the bottle they had and also i had not even tasted it so really was not happy to be told that i had to have a warm bottle of wine. I then asked to speak to the manager, the young waiter left the table and returned about 5 minutes later to tell me the manager was "busy" with the wedding function but would come when free. I waited another 10 minutes and decided to leave as we were hungry and to be honest i had lost all confidence in the pub. So filthy paper menus, grubby lipstick stained wine glasses and warm white wine and a distinct lack of management). This pub/restaurant could be lovely but yet again management appears to be lacking and not interested in investing care into customer service. If this is what the paying public views i do wonder what the kitchens etc are like. Will not be returning. Ended up at Hogans on Sandpits land, and had a lovely meal, sparkling clean glasses and COLD wine served in a ice bucket automatically without having to ask.

We had the hunters chicken with chips and salad. I had extra salad as my daughter didn't eat salad so bonus for me. Only criticism was it's from a packet and no lettuce included. Meal was very tasty. Staff friendly it was on a quite time 12.30 mid week. Also there was no petite pois pea option. I did order desert of lemon meringue but it was a lemon roulard and had to return it. I was offered an alternative but there was little choice. All in all an enjoyable afternoon

2nd time I've been here with my mum for lunch and the food has been lovely each time. The staff are also very nice and accommodating

Pre-booked for 20 people for a birthday meal. Table was in the large back restaurant room which was ideal for the group and would be ideal for larger bookings too. Food was really good! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, particularly the steaks which were all cooked to perfection. The only reason I have rated a 4 is due to the fact that the lady serving the food was pretty much on her own and so the entire order took a while to deliver. Apart from that we would recommend Thank you :)

We held our wedding here yesterday and we had the most amazing day the new owner kelly could not do enough for us and nothing was to much trouble and all her staff were helpfully and very friendly. The carvery we had at lunch was really delicious and the buffet at night was amazing and the best we had ever seen everyone at our party was talking on how nice the food was top marks to the chef. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone.

Used the function room for an event which is fresh and a good size, food is excellent, staff and service very good. We will return for sure

After work my partner and myself decided during March to visit the Hare and Hounds pub for a meal not wishing to cook when we arrived home. When we arrived we both ordered gammon and egg. When it arrived both gammons were burnt black around the outside even the pineapple was burnt. My partner wasn't very happy and wanted to send it back, however because I had had a busy day and was tired I just wanted to go home, so we ate it. When we went to pay the waitress she asked how the meal was and I replied "it was burnt" to which she replied "I know it was that's why I asked you"Not wishing to let the matter lie my partner phoned the manager the next day to complain, and was told by her "I've only taken over a week ago and the chef? has only been here a week. He replied that's no excuse for sending out a meal that was burnt, no decent chef would do that. She replied she would look into the matter and ring me back........I'm still waiting for her call. We used to eat there a lot at one time, but there are so many good pubs around today that serve good meals I'm pleased to say that we can drive past the bad ones.

I was there for an event organised for a largish group (50-ish) and the service was excellent. The buffet style food that we'd ordered was great, and there was plenty of it. The actual venue is very well presented and in a good location. We were made very welcome and I'd recommend it without hesitation.

I was one of the organisers for an event in the function room on Saturday - 50 people, 24 cars, two course meal and coffee etc.... the venue was beautifully prepared, just as we wanted it, the food was excellent, couldn't fault the service, and very reasonably priced! Garry and Kelly and their team were perfect hosts. Ideal location for any similar events...we will be back!

I helped to arrange an event for Club Triumph that was held at the Hare and Hounds. We used the room at the back of the pub for the meeting and it could not have been better. Kelly and her staff were helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in our event and the food and drink for the 50+ people that attended was very reasonably priced and of excellent quality. We even had a sectioned-off area in the car park! We would have no hesitation in hosting another event with Kelly at the H&H.

What a great venue. Very helpful team, loads of space to park. Great function room and excellent food for a large group. We had over 50 and the buffet style catering was great. Good food, hot and good sized portions.

At last, there are new managers in. Excited that we would enjoy drinking/eating there again... one visit was enough to convince us that beer prices were still ridiculous!! For the price of a pint, you could go to The Shepherd or Wallace and get 2 pints for that price. Sorry, won't pay those prices, such a shame.

The pub has lots of those olde worlde charms but with a fresh lick of paint and modern but frieldly ambiance. The new owners were welcoming and offered us seats in either the resteraunt or the bar. We chose the bar area as there was more of a buzz in there. We both ordered the steak and wasn't dissapointed. They had one of my favourite ales; Doombar on tap. Planning to return again.

Had a lovely mothers day family meal. Carvery is fab really filling. What can I say about desert. So filling and yummy it's to die for. Service is excellent so welcoming.

I've not been here for years......but still quaint...... great atmosphere and lots of happy locals frequenting the bar. Now it's under new management so managing folk are obviously finding their feet and put their own touch on things but we were all impressed. ....... bearing in mind there was also a wedding going on...... poor chef must have been ran ragged only to find our table of 11 turn up. Staff were so so nice..... very polite and helpful..... warm and friendly. Nice setting..... old beams and the like. Food was lovely.... not one bad meal at all in our party...... steak was as it should be....... and my daughters face was a picture when her chocolate fudge cake turned up....... no scrimping on portions and a very happy little lady. I think new management should be very pleased with themselves...... and the staff of course, but I will definitely be returning and recommending it to all who'll listen. Booked for a wake. Just wanted sandwiches and chips. Nothing fancy but excellent quality. Staff were friendly but not pushy. Good value for the price. Under new management and as we live locally we will definitely be back for an evening meal.

Just been into the Hare and Hounds. After looking online at their menu the evening before we were looking forward to going. Booked a table for 8pm. On arrival told "we'll have to take your order straight away cos the restaurant closes at 8 and the chef has to get home"! Alarm bells ringing. Then given 2 menus which had 20% of the online menu available as "under new ownership". More alarm bells. Ordered the rump steak we both had the same, both medium rare. Mine was ok when it came, my wifes was well overcooked but as so hungry she ate it. Came with 2 choices of fries, which we had to ask for as the waitress never did. The onion rings were from a packet as were the fries. Never once asked during the meal of everything was ok. Only one other couple in the entire restaurant, the guy in that couple ordered a rare steak, when it arrived it was well overcooked and dry (his description) he sent it back. Limp apologies from the young waitress. When it was returned with a new steak he then cut into it and it was "Fridge cold" in the middle (again his words) sent back a second time. If we'd have sent ours back it would have been 3 steaks out of 4 in an empty restaurant that was incorrectly cooked. Basically a ruined evening out. Couldn't get out of there quickly enough. Shame as the pub is lovely but in an age where local pubs are struggling, I'd give the new owners 3-6 months before they go under if the food stays the same. Won't be returning and I'm not one to usually overly complain but this was horrific. Will never visit again sadly. Unimpressed. Do not go.

We were a party of 18 for lunch. It appears that this was the first day under new management so I can not be too critical. In fact they were not even aware of our booking, poor handover. They are obviously short staffed as we were served by one waitress who did a sterling job. However, it was 20 minutes from the first of our party to receive their meal until the last, consequently some of us were finished eating before others were served. Again I will give credit to the pub rallying around and doing their best under the circumstances.Most of our party seemed satisfied with their meals. I had the gourmet burger, although I would not call it gourmet. It had bacon and cheese on top and was accompanied by chips, onion rings and peas. The burger was ok but very small. It would be interesting to return in 6 months time and see how they are faring.

Excellent choice of bar food for adults & kids. Friendly staff & lovely venue. They lost a star from my rating only because they missed a couple of items off the plates & couldn't replace them without taking the whole plate away & cooking again - and also my first & second choice of desserts from the menu were not available. Will definitely visit again

We travelled from Lancashire to meet friends from Berkshire with 2 dogs between us. Staff were so friendly, food was great and they allowed us to serve our own birthday cake after the meal. Will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

Recommended to go for Sunday lunch,what a mistake.Cheap produce of very poor quality,limited selection of produce,desserts small and certainly not homemade.Staff disinterested ,customer service skills need attention.

Despite pre- booking, we endured a spoilt duration of our long anticipated joyous occasion. A family get together had to endure high cost, lukewarm and poor quality meal. Small portions, lukewarm food, mushy veg which resembled frozen and all main meal pre-served on the plate with no consideration of choices of veg or quantity of veg or gravy. Not acceptable in 21st century. Complaining resulted in a hard fought £15 reduction from the £95 expected for the meal!! Outrageous. A 3 course menu on Boxing Day cost £17.50. It was a rip off masquerading as increased costs for Christmas day. Please read other reviews and very carefully consider before booking at the Hare and Hounds

Lovely location and plenty of space, Shame about the kind of people you find in there - make it very unsociable. Visited for bonfire night event recently also - which was okay but not great.

Paid a visit today walked in to the restaurant area to find a clean table which was virtual impossible and saw a paper towel on the floor I kicked it slightly with my foot only to reveal underneath a pile of dog poo sat on the carpet. Turned around and walked out and will not be back. I advise you never to come to this pub as it is absolutely diabolical.

Been regulars to this pub for many years as we like to support local businesses. We went to celebrate a birthday but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We got our table quickly but had to wait a long time to get our drinks, which was incorrect when they arrived.Our first course arrived but was cold, Box Camembert, was presented nicely on slate tile. Spoke to staff, we were told " we've been very busy today".Main courses arrived, looked okay but then we identified problems. Gourmet Burger lacked everything promised on menu, only thing present was a burger!!! No bacon, cheese, lettuce or tomato?? Again to be told " we've been busy today" ! No apology?Bacon was then sent out on a plate for burger, not crispy like menu stated looked almost raw.Steak, cooked to preference on surface, then looked under and saw it was black on parts from grill. Had to ask for additional sauce we'd ordered after 5 mins of main course arriving?We didn't finish meals as so very disappointed with quality & service from staff. When paying we mentioned our findings again to be told " we've been very busy today"!!We have been many times but this was was a very poor experience in terms of quality and lack of customer service and we feel this will be our last time.The place is clearly going downhill, we are aware times are hard for hospitality but you need to get the basics right!!

The food here is really overpriced and poor, we keep popping back every other month or so as we only live down the road. It's a real shame as there are no other pubs in walking distance. The play equipment for children is in a dangerous state of disrepair.They do have a decent selection of ale, but cider choices are poor.Staff are always friendly, although does have a very 'locals' only feel in the main bar which can be intimidating for some.

Went to try the carvery. Staff warm and friendly. Plenty of choice of ales. Carvery area nice and clean and well presented. Plenty of choice but it appeared to be all frozen food without much taste. The carver gives ample servings of meat, however, it was like shoe leather. All piping hot and all at a good price. Could be so much better if the above negatives could be addressed. Would even pay a little more. We will go back to try the full menu as it is such a nice place. Let's hope it's better than the Sunday carvery.

Over to the Uk to visit, I took my mother to the Hare and Hounds for a lunchtime meal.Hardly anyone in the pub but the service was good and the beer nicely chilled.A good choice of pub food and we chose the homemade turkey pie. The pie was full of meat and the chips and peas were copious. I don't go back to the UK often and the meal really took me back to the days when I still lived in the UK.Lovely looking pub, good service and good food.The icing on the cake was a 2 for 1 offer on the pies :-)

This place could be absolutely fantastic, and does well on special occasions such as St George's day or Bonfire night. However for evening meals we have been let down on too many occasions.We live locally so have visited maybe 8 times in the last year, however on every occasion we have found some fault.The restaurant often runs out of key items such as fish on fish and chip Friday, or mushy peas, or rice on curry night. We've sent food back on several occasions for being overcooked/burnt, and the service is average at best.If you are local to this area a much better option is the beechwood on sandpits lane which has reopened under new management.

Used to visit quite often until staff in restaurant served 2 tables in front of us sat for 30 mins in the end got up and left would never go back again now use the weavers at Fillongley totally different is worth 5 stars the same as the service and food you get

Used to be a regular here and it was always lovely. Food, drinks and staff. Popped in last weekend for the first time in a while, only had some 'bar snacks' and they were all lovely, didn't wait long(Saturday afternoon) and nice big portions! If I'm ever in that area, I wouldn't consider eating anywhere else! :)

We had previously ate here many times before, the menu was dated and the food was mediocre at best and over-priced, hence we stopped eating here.However, following up on recent verbal recommendations, we decided to give it another chance.Not only do they have a new chef, but they also have a new menu which was long overdue.The menu is more vibrant and dynamic and the quality of the food has changed considerably, ultimately delivering the value for money that a customer ultimately looks for.For anyone else that had previously given up going here, I would say it's wortha second chance.

I rang the day before our visit, to book a table in the Restaurant at Lunch-time. On arrival at the due time on the next day, we followed the external signs to the Restaurant - only to find the doors were locked. Told that the Restaurant was closed at Lunch-time, (not sure if that was just today or every weekday), we were assured food is being served here in the Bar. We definitely got the impression from the girl behind the Bar, that was a 'Take it or leave it' situation. Hunting around in the L-shaped Bar we eventually found a table that was just about acceptable to eat from.I paid £5 more for my Lamb Shank than we paid for my wife's Mushroom Stroganoff.I was somewhat surprised to find that my 'Seasonal Vegetables' turned out to be strips of Yellow and Green Peppers with slices of Red Onion, stir-fried.A placard outside, and a notice on the Specials Board, stated that a 2-4-1 offer was available. We were not shown that Menu, presumably because we had booked for the Restaurant, so were given the full Menu instead. We did not consider this meal experience represented 'Value for Money', and will give this establishment a wide berth for along while yet.

Ok pub. Gets very busy at times. Food is ok but felt very rushed to eat and get out. Toilets also could do with a good clean

Having past this pub a few times while working in the area my wife and I decided to give the restaurant.While we had to wait for a table,my thoughts were that any popular eating hole that is fully booked must be pretty good.While waiting for our table we ordered drinks and sat to wait, withing 5 minutes of sitting we had to go outside to get some fresh air, The wood burning fire and coke fires fumes were coming into the room rather than up the chimney.returning inside we wre directed to our table and ordered a 3 course meal.The starter of liver pate' and toast was fine,a little on the tasteless side but never the less.When we went to collect our carvery's we waited for the chief to come out and carve the meat,after waiting a while ended up joking to one of the bar waitress's if we were to carve ourselves.The chief came out eventually and used a rather thick knife to carve the meat (same knife for beef.turkey and gammon) ordered beef and gammon and ended up with a steak with blood oozing out of it and two gammon steaks.the roast potatoes we burnt black and the Yorkshire pudding was under cooked and chewy.My wife plumbed for the turkey which was wet.Giving the beef a try I attempted to cut a little from around the edge with great difficulty,but managed eventually, chewing it was an ordeal which I gave up on and spat it into my serviette.Rather that prolong the agony we decided to forgo sweet and asked for the bill.The was no question as to why we didn't want sweet as ordered rather just handed the bill for payment.Not only was there a lack of health and hygiene were cross contamination is concerned but the food was no better than that handed over in a greasy spoon cafe', in fact I have eaten far superior for in a greasy spoon.In conclusion I will not revisit for food again and would certainly NOT advise others to eat there.

Coming in at 4pm without a reservation still managed to get a table for two.Lovely carvery, meat really moist (turkey, beef and gammon) and lovely roast potatoes. Desserts sounded appetising but we had no room! 2 courses for £8.99 or 3 for £9.99 an absolute bargain! Will come again

Where to start? Food taste fines but not the best especially considering it's a little on the expensive side. They never have the Daim bar cheesecake so I can't see why they have it on their menu. Large cokes come out in in all different types of glasses and sizes even though the price is the same. Staff aren't very welcoming and look at you as if you're a zombie. A plus is that they bring drinks over and will include them at the end of the nights bill instead of paying right away...only it takes them so long to come over that you end up going upto the bar anyway.

My fiancé and I come here for food every now and then and everything we have had is plentiful and delicious (the pie is my favourite!) from the menu.We came here on Christmas day and although one of our party wrote a negative review we don't think it was that bad. I think anywhere on Christmas day struggle, with large numbers. There were a few issues but if you don't ask nothing can be sorted, like not enough toast for the pate but I asked and got more! We came two weeks after and we were delighted. It was quiet and a personal service.We've booked our wedding reception in their function room, so family will be eating here again. Kate is great and helpful.

Sometimes this place is amazing and sometimes I wish we hadn't bothered. The young lad behind the bar about 19/20 with dark hair is abit gormless at times but harmless non the less.

I was on a business trip and the hotel nearby I was staying in wasn't serving food so I nipped down the road and found this quaint little pub restaurant. I only had a bar snack of fish, chips and piping hot mushy peas, perfect for a quick mid week meal. the portions where generous and the roaring fire war very appreciated in early February.

Enjoyed a great steak meal, cooked as requested and the sauce ordered came in a gravy jug rather than the usual little ramekin. More than needed and one would easily do a table of 4, but better to have too much than too little. Very quiet on the evening we visited but again as usual we do tens to arrive around 6.30 so rather early for most people. Have read a few bad reviews on the freshness but ours was fresh and very tasty

Seen board outside for carvery awfull rude miserable young girls not helpful at all. Food well where do I start cold over or under cooked veg no roast potatoes dirty little potatoes in skins with roots growing out Yorkshire puddings soggy n whole meal was cold chief was rude and insisted was her 1st day wasn't takin any blame for the rubbish that was on the counter

We ate here as a family group of 11 and we BOOKED for Sunday roast.Firstly I can't really comment on the service as we hardly had any, we constantly had to keep going to the bar to ask for the next course, sauces and cutlery.The food was disgusting, cold gravy, no roast potatoes, roast parsnips cooked so hard they were tasteless and unedable, vegtables either uncooked, over cooked or cold.Excuses included, none left (but we booked), all gone (but we cooked), we mixed the "roasties" in with the other veg (why?) And "I only started here today" (the cook?).Total joke (except the price) basically I would certainly never go again and I can see why other reviewers arn't happy.

Took 12 people for dinner at £47,50 each. Turkey very dry and tasteless, 1 small roastie and 2 small baby potatoes, 1 small pig in blanket, no sprouts, very small amount of all other veg except cabbage, parsnips hard, 2 small cibatta for 3 large amounts of pate in starter. 1 person couldn't cut the meat on rack of lamb. 5 of the 8 persons who had turkey ended up with diarrhoea and sickness for a few days after. Only good part of meal was the puddings. Atmosphere bad as couldn't hear others talking at the same table. Service mediocre. Will never go back there to eat.
