The Happy Teapot in Worthing

I go here regularly and Netti and her team are always helpful and friendly. They were full yesterday but managed to find me a spot which I hadn’t spotted. The food is freshly made and always tasty.

I last came in here around 6 months and had a really bad experience but i thought I'd go back in today (have previously reviewed) and give the benefit of the doubt. I ordered a coffee and the woman who I dealt with last time was at the till but wasnt serving me and asked to speak to me about my review. She started telling me that what I had said on the review wasn't true and said that they'd had a power cut so she couldn't deal with my request that quickly, all I asked for was a bowl of cold water to cool down my newborns bottle - i waited nearly 20 minutes for this and asked them 4 times...she told me that I didn't and that I needed hot which they couldn't give me due to the power cut and that's the reason that they have cctv also telling me about the impact it has on their business. I agree things like this impact a business but its not nice for a customer to have a bad time and then to be confronted when they next go in. There was barely an apology she was just telling me that i was wrong the whole time. I will not return ever again as the woman was confrontation and rude.

Visited for afternoon tea with family to celebrate a baby shower. Staff could not have been more attentive. Savoury selection amazing and scones to die for! Had to take cake home- just too much in one sitting. Highly recommended!

I booked my daughter’s baby shower here, from start to finish it was a really great experience, Netti communicated everything and arrangements were quickly sorted and hassle free. We had a 3-5 pm slot for afternoon tea for 12 people, where we booked the venue so just our group in the cafe which was so nice. Netti explained to everyone how the afternoon tea was to be served which felt relaxed and unhurried. Food was plentiful and lots to choose from, with the option to take left over items and cake home in a goodie box as none of us could finish it all. Limitless hot drinks too. It was just a lovely venue and really tasty food, savoury bits and sandwiches followed by warm scones, cream and jam then cake of your choice. If you looking for a lovely intimate venue for a small group I would highly recommend the Happy Teapot. Will definitely be back.

If I could give a 10 for Netti and her team I would this place is brilliant it’s a nice little place just off the main road that leads into town Netti is amazing she loves her business you can tell she is passionate about what she does and it shows and that makes the difference. We wasn’t rushed at all. The ultimate afternoon tea is what we had and it was lovely you get to pick your own sandwich filling which is better than having the usual suspects you get full sandwiches a big selection of savouries and a choice of scones savoury and sweet and a full slice of cake along with hot drinks all the food was great as was the service and general hospitality of the place I highly recommend coming for the afternoon tea we will return

We had a glorious wedding celebration at The Happy Teapot! Nettie and her team couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming, accommodating! The food was yummy, the service excellent, we enjoyed every minute! Thank you Happy Teapot!

Lovely recent visit as part of my 30th birthday celebrations. Very accommodating, vegan options and friendly. Netti reserved a table last minute and even dressed the table with a sign and birthday napkins. Tasty treat and much enjoyed by everyone, ages from 1 to 85! Something for all. Really lovely place for tea and cake or a more substantial toastie or baked potato. The staff are all incredibly welcoming and always cheerful. I love going here whenever I am in the area. The coffee is great too!

Even though it was past closing time we were welcomed in for coffee and cake. Lovely coffee specially made with care. Lovely lemon cake. We have visited many times over the years but this was exceptional service, thank you.

I went here today for a friend's birthday, and i can absolutely say that it was wonderful. You get a sandwich of your choice, then a scone with cream and jam, then a slice of cake of your choice and a hot drink for £16.50 each. The staff are cheerful and really kind.

Lovely cafe that catered for my gluten-free needs. Would recommend their Buddha salad, which was delicious. The owner was excellent and was very accommodating. Blue light card accepts, what not to like. Would visit again. Thank you.

Visited today 19/7/2023 for my friends 60th Birthday. We pre booked in advance and reserved one of the pods. We were warmly greeted by Netti and her lovely members of staff who served us. The afternoon tea was amazing! . Sandwiches and fillings were so fresh and fully filled! The fruit scones were absolutely delicious and huge! So much so we had our slices of cakes boxed up to take home with us! I cannot speak highly enough or recommend enough! I will be sure to visit again soon! Amanda

Stopped for a takeaway coffee and the lady serving was so friendly. Also bought a vegan chocolate flapjack which was really delicious. A really lovely friendly place, I’ll definitely be back when in the area.

Booked for 1.30pm but our guests were delayed for half an hour. The staff were absolutely lovely about this. Cream teas, scones and hot drinks were order for 7 of us and it was all delicious. Guests had come from Hastings and Finland, and were very impressed with the cream teas and cakes! Hats off to the staff who were patient and very polite.

I have been here a number of times now for my lunch break. On the last visit I had the cookies and cream bronut! This was something else!! We also have our book club meeting here as well. It’s prefect for any occasion. The staff are so lovely and friendly we well and make everyone feel so welcome. I highly recommend coming here.

First visit here and have to say it was amazing ! Great / tasty food freshly made every day, one of our party has a dietary requirement which was very well catered for by having a very in-depth conversation with the staff to make sure no mistakes were made. Lovely cafe, very good value, quirky decor (vintage clutter), serves excellent coffee and has always had a good selection of cake, including gluten free cake. It is conveniently located by a bus stop, right opposite the library.

4 of us popped in for a coffee and cake, I had not been there before but my friend had. It was later in the afternoon so a bit limited selection of cake but I had a chocolate scone which was a bit different with jam and cream. My friend Victoria sandwich was well received as were the two other cakes. It is quite a quirky place lots of nice nic nacs around but the numerous clocks don’t work. Pleas fix the loo door such a simple and important thing to do. Nice place for a change.

I attended for my niece's hen do yesterday, and expectations were exceeded. The venue was beautifully decorated and so much home cooked food! We had only eaten about half of it but takeaway boxes were supplied so we could take home as much as we wanted (which my husband was very pleased about!). Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would recommend this venue very highly.

Quaint little tea shop tucked away off the main drag...good choice of 'Free from' ranges. Service a little slow and the venue is very 'busy' on the eye but good food on the few occasions we've been.

The small frontage of this cafe opposite library belies its larger tardis like interiour with a variety of seating to suit all tastes. Good food, slightly above local cafe prices, but good value. Disabled parking very close, level access throughout.

I love this café, not only do they do lovely cakes but they also do dairy free/gluten free ones too. Bit disappointed that they do not do a dairy free/gluten free one without soya though.

This place is incredible!!! I recently booked my daughter and I to attend a princess afternoon tea with belle at the happy teapot.

I came in here for lunch last week, having just been to the library across the road. I had a JP with beans and cheese and a mango milkshake. The food was nice and the milkshake was absolutely lovely.

Full English Breakfast fry ups available in Vintage/Retro decorated cafe. Excellent choice of sandwiches, sort after afternoon tea available. Vegetarian and vegan choices on menu too. Recommendation coffee and Walnut cake.

Having friends to stay for a weekend, one of whom is vegan, we were looking for somewhere that might offer some vegan options, and weren't disappointed. We booked afternoon tea for four, and were greeted with a mountain of sandwiches and cakes to choose from. Our vegan guest was delighted with her selection, including some tasty looking cakes, while the rest of us enjoyed mini banoffee pies, cupcakes, eclairs and scones - and still had plenty left to take home. Great service, very fitting internal decor and great value. We're sure to return.

My friend and I have been here before (and with other friends) but we won't be coming back and nor will any of our friends. The customer service was non-existent and we felt the young girl who took our money was very unfriendly - needs to go on a course as to how to behave with customers - a smile usually works!!!

This quaint little shop makes excellent food and can cater for vegan, dairy free and gluten free diets. Choice of food includes sandwiches, baked potatoes, burgers (vegan) and hot dogs (vegan). They also have a different selection of homemade cakes every day that are gluten free or dairy free or sometimes both. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable.

I've been here a few times now, as the vegan cake options are amazing! The coffee and walnut cake is out of this world and just writing this makes me crave some... I honestly can't recommend the Happy Teapot enough; the staff are lovely, it's cute and there are so many great vegan treats.

Visited here today with my partner for lunch. We both had the vegan BLT, which didn't arrive quickly, but I enjoyed. It was huge, came with lots of chips and salad, and they had a range of vegan condiments available. We couldn't eat everything and the staff happily provided a doggy bag. Nice staff and quirky cafe, would definitely recommend.

We stopped for breakfast on the way to town. I entered a little sceptical as I knew, from my daughter, that the high tea was excellent but breakfast is another matter.

This quirky little place is worth a visit and the world would be better place if more places like this existed, not the greatest but charming nevertheless.
