This has to be the dirtiest dingiest place I've ever came across in london the only good thing was the djs and system. When you opened the tiny toilet downstairs I was met with a cracked toilet and a influx of flies, vomit and pee on the walls no locks and a mirror on the back of the door that you couldn't see through. The bar downstairs had no stock or bartender so you had to go upstairs to the seriously miserable bartender for whom smiling was beyond his remit. There were wires all over the floor by the entrance a serious trip hazard. The stairs to downstairs are so narrow and the ceiling downstairs so low if your 6 ft or over forget it. The filth in the place is tangible it's grotty and unwelcoming I'm just shocked it's allowed to operate it's a health and safety hazard from the minute you enter if I could leave minus stars I would just checked other reviews the owners must have got them to do them as seriously people The response from the owner is a sad reflection of their lack of professionalism I don't think expecting the basic standards of hygiene and safety makes me no fun your response is ridiculous

What can I say. I'm hugely biased because I fell in love with this place so much I decided to see if I can put on a regular event. I visited on a Saturday to DJ for a friends birthday as a last minute change of venue. Tucked out of the way in a narrow side street just round the corner from Tottenham Court Road station, this place is unassuming from the outside. It is tiny, with a narrow bar area and small nook at the back. Decor is vibrant and they have reasonable selection of drinks if that's your thing. Prices are average for the area as far as I'm aware. Apparently they use the space as a gallery rotating exhibitions every month or so, though were in between on the occasion I visited Go downstairs and there's a small bar and seating area, which leads through to a room no bigger than the average living room. The decor is minimalist exposed brickwork reminiscent of classic rave venues of the past which doubled as car parks or garages during the day. "Cosy" is an understatement because it feels comfortably full on the dancefloor with 10 people in it. The DJ booth is tiny, with barely enough space for turntables and the mixer is creatively balanced on a ledge beneath. Yet the owners have seen fit to install a PA system more appropriate for a space about 5 times the size (I found myself actually turning it down on a couple of occasions 😂). I can't really explain why, but I haven't had this much fun on a night out in a very long time. The staff are friendly and the whole atmosphere just felt welcoming. I even ended up randomly making friends with a couple of strangers, which is something I never do. The owner Naomi is one of the soundest people I've met in a very long time (having been doing this malarkey since the turn of the century). There's just something about this place that evokes the feeling of being a den of bohemian artistry, for free thinkers, counter culture revolutionaries and future shapers of the world. I've no doubt there'll be a blue plaque appearing at some point in the future. It's not flashy but has it's own sense of refined confident style, like a well seasoned traveller. Worth a visit just to have a drink and hang around even if there's no event on if your in the area and want to decompress from the suffocating maelstrom that is central London

The worst place to socialise. Too small with no ventilation or Windows. There is a tiny cubical for a unisex toilet with a narrow entrance door. The toilet's door doesn't close properly. The tiny staircase to the lower small area to seat down is very difficult to walk on..Basically, it's a health danger altogether!!! The cocktails are served in flimsy plastic cups, yet are charged as high as at 5 star bar. This place should not be allowed to open as a social bar!!!

Filthy toilets, limited selection of beers and other drinks. Lady serving was the only real positive as she was nice and chatty.

A nice intimate bar. Joel, the owner is very chill, prices are reasonable. Patrons were friendly, I felt like I was in my home town. Stop in and get away from the crazy, over crowded, overpriced big bars.

Great food; good beer selection; friendly service; nice decor; relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. One of the best pubs in Highgate and very reasonably priced.

I used to regularly go to Goldfish in Hampstead before it moved to Chalk Farm. Before moving it was run down space but good quality tasty food and decent service. Today we tried the new Goldfish now in Chalk Farm and the food and service was awful. Firstly, the place was freezing and we including others were sitting inside with our puffer jackets which the staff did not seem to care about. our food was brought luke-warm, not at all to its usual standard and at completely different awkward times. We had to ask for tap water many times and the servers were completely un-attentive even though there were about 8 of us total in the whole restaurant. I don't often take time to leave negative reviews but I don't recommend visiting Goldfish if this is their new standard.
