We had sunday lunch sunday lunch today. It was cold and lots more remedial work needs to be done in resturant. We would love to keep locally and to keep local businesses going and was my old local. We will not be going again .Reasons - Sticky tables, waitress did not have much idea (training issue) menus left on table in our way. Given dirty wine glass, from bar. Roast was tepid, roast pototoes (if you could call them that), beef overcooked, condiments no lighting above also knives blunt..Very very disappointing for a first return visit Especialy as a local individuals.

Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I’m not from the area but popped in whilst passing as I was starving hungry and really fancied a pub lunch. The establishment is not terribly welcoming from outside but was greeted nicely on entering. Inside it looks they they are undergoing some renovation. We had an excellent lunch. The fish and chips was delicious, the tartare sauce home made. The burger and burger sauce were both home made. A truly excellent lunch. Already looking forward to a return visit. Refreshing to have outstanding pub food at a good price

So happy they’ve finally renovated the garden area. It had massive potential and they’ve done it perfectly.

We went for breakfast which was very good. Service was very friendly and efficient. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. 🙂

Let’s be honest - this pub has struggled to identify itself for years. It has huge potential. The new proprietors are doing their absolute best to make this pub a success, and keep an important hub of the community running (before it gets purchased for flats no doubt!) The reviews are fair, but the one regarding drugs at a recent event is not unique to this pub. It is not right, but I’d imagine many pubs in the area have similar issues. My own experience of trying lunch for the first time was really good. A good, honest, homemade burger and £18 for burger and pint cannot be sniffed at. And for those with families and children - the outside space is superb. Please keep going with this pub and keeping the Widley community thriving.

We visited on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised how good our visit was. The food and service was excellent. We sat in the garden on a glorious afternoon and were entertained by a very good singer,who may I add continued to sing for 2 hours. A bouncy castle was on hand to keep the kids happy. Our intended hour stay extended to 4 hours. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Running a large event without any security there for it and as a result a guy was doing coke infront of kids and then collapsed and the handling of that and the customers was awful the poor chefs outside had no idea as to what to do and left to take the brunt of angry custo.ers unable to leave with no information given at all really poorly run and managed.

I was the only one in there on Monday lunchtime, and I can understand why that was, the radio was so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think. No wonder there was no senior people in for lunch.

Great pub 👌 5 star staff where amazing food was great. Kids loved the bouncy castle what a gem to find this pub. Thank you we will sure be back. Party of 6 people we spent 70 pounds!! Amazing

We didn't get the room that was suggested, wasn't expressed with the luncheon menu! Nor was I expressed with all the cobwebs hanging above our heads as we ate our food.

Tentatively went with my mate for Friday lunch after bad experiences in the past (few years back). Got a great welcome when we arrived, help with gluten free choices, really well looked after throughout and food was really good. Really impressed and will be going back soon.

Held my mums wake here and i must thank the chef for a great spread everyone commented on how good the food was . Bar staff absent at times even though we we was guarnteed are own bar staff but all in all fantastic .

Service good and friendly staff. We went for Sunday lunch with friends. It was our first time we'd been there. We ordered the two meat carvery meals. I couldn't believe the size of the plates we were given. They were like side plates. I dread to see the size of the plates if we had ordered just one meat. Although the meal tasted nice I don't think we will go back for a while. It was quite good value for the money.

I came with my daughter today was very noisy a christening party very busy lovely friendly young waitress very friendly and helpful we had the standard roast 2x very small cuts of meat was tough potatoes nice but luke warm carrots were nice rest of veg didn't look very appetising overall good value for money chef needs to cut the meat more thinly had 2x small chunks of meat needs to be hotter the food

Nice pub. Went for an event, decent sized area of the pub was partitioned off and large buffet done. Buffet was good, friendly staff, and nice selection of drinks.

Came for a team Christmas meal and it was absolutely delicious. I normally get food envy but I was entirely satisfied. The horseradish mash was awesome and the Christmas pud had hints of black treacle. The new team at the pub are simply awesome. We'll be back!

Went for Pre Christmas Lunch. Absolutely lovey Christmas Dinner. Very friendly and welcoming. Was lovely and warm on a very cold day. Will definitely go again

Brilliant pub with outdoor space, great atmosphere and staff are very friendly, pool table, darts and other entertainment facilities are all fun. Will definitely be visiting again for a drink or two.

Nice carvery. Very busy with children in/out door to garden but staff locked the door by our table so they could use different one. Next time we'll request a table away from the doors. Carvery was good value and quality. Finally a pub in the area that's doing good food!

If I could give no stars I would! Turned up to pick my 13 year old daughter up from a child’s party both the landlord and landlady were pissed out of there heads attacking 12 and 13 year old girls. Punching two girls in the face and attacking my daughter pulling her hair and pushing her in the road!!! AVOID

I was another parent of said party last night absolutely appalling behaviour from a landlady and landlord throwing kids party then being violent to several kids and getting in my daughters face absolutely fuming 😤 I will be telling everyone to avoid said pub

We had my husbands 80th birthday party here. The buffet was amazing. Very helpful owners. Thoroughly recommend for any celebration. Thank you so much guys, one 80 years young man very happy. Very reasonable cost.

Very spacious bar areas with garden and ample parking in 2 carparks. Nice bright clean pub with lovely staff. They cater very well for wakes.

Lots going on with live music and free pool table . Drinks seem quite expensive. I had soda water which is free in my local . Would use again if it was special occasion

Very nice Sunday roast then a couple of hours of Dave Barrett singing.Great afternoon.

We where there with a group knitting women, they opened open an hour earlier, were helpfull opened the blinds to give us more light.

Good food, good price, good service, good parking. It's a pub that serves pints, slaps up meals, has a fruity and has the footie on. What more do you want?

We played here on new years eve 2019, a bit of a last minute booking but we had a fantastic time, so did all who came, a fantastic night. Thanks to all who came and partied with us.

Big pub but always seems a bit empty these days. The barmaid and locals were chatty and the drinks were alright it's a shame it's not more thriving.

Carvery was average. 2 small slices of meat. Gravy was watery. Basic veg. Nachos were not pleasant. Shame because the pub is good for kids and plenty of parking. Food needs a revamp

Rowdy clientele although thats not pubs fault! loads of bulbs gone ran out of lots of different beers. no toilet roll in gents. Looks uncared for. Doubt we will bother returning.

Nice chilled out pub. Clean and tidy. Plenty of room and a large garden for the kids. Fire going in the winter. Drinks well priced and never a bad drink served.

Went after a funeral for the wake, food was good also plenty of tea and coffee available as well as drinks from the bar.

Great pub and staff! They also have live music nights with some awesome local bands.

We are hosting a party there tonight and the manager has been very helpful with setting it up and letting us free with ideas AND it's not silly money, can't go wrong.

Not the quietest or poshest of pubs, but I always have a nice time and the atmosphere is good. People are friendly. Food is ok.

Went here as a guest for a 60th birthday party & all I can say is drinks are very overpriced for just a standard pub. I was paying over £10 a time for just a pint of lager & a glass of wine for me & my fiancee. If it wasn't for the fact that I was attending a private party, I don't think I would go out of my way to go to this pub any other time.

The visit was for a wake there were loads of family and friends. Not only was the space in the inside but there were the grounds The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly. A sad occasion but one made easier in some ways. Thanks to the Hampshire Rose.

Home cooked food at a very reasonable price plus a garden for children.

Typical pub with a reasonable garden in need of shade. The odd umbrella on the benches would help.

Friendly welcoming pub, good food and nice staff. Will visit again when in the area without question. If I had to have a complaint, I found the coleslaw a bit runny.
