We stayed as a base for walking the coast path. Unfortunately the weather was inclement, but our stay was enjoyable regardless. The hotel is very remote, so you do need to have transport or catch the bus which stops outside. The room was comfortable, impeccably clean and well maintained by staff. The highlight was the kitchen and the staff serving. The menu was varied and ingredients beautifully and simply curated. Nothing felt contrived and everything we had in three days was delicious. I appreciated the chefs’ willingness to adapt to dietary preferences so I had the full experience. Shout out for the addictive soda bread! Thank you

I generally dislike eating a main meal at lunchtime but was proved completely wrong by the fantastic Sunday lunch at the GH. Absolutely and utterly delicious. Generous portion of delicious vegetables and wonderful sirloin beef. Oh and the Yorkshire pudding was just perfect. The puddings, in particular, were outstanding - a white chocolate ganache and a chocolate and pistachio concoction. We are still talking about them. Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommended.

Amazing food very original and delicious and we had the vegetarian options but all the family loved all the food. We went for early dinner and had the huge treat of seeing the dairy cows pass by at around 6.30pm making the evening extra special! The ambiance, service, drinks and food were all fabulous and cannot wait to return when we are next down near St Ives. The drive alone from St Ives past Zennor to the pub is very special.

Yet another delicious dinner at The Gurnards Head. I had a tomato soup to start which had an amazing taste because of the addition of cardamom served with homemade bread, followed by simply cooked fish in breadcrumbs. So fresh. Naughty but nice... sticky toffee pudding. A good selection of well priced wines. We drank Pouilly Fume. Really good. Great food with attentive friendly service. Our room was just great. Immaculate and so spacious with a log burner too. The following morning before eating the really good breakfast we walked down to The Gurnards Head itself. The waves crashing on to the rocks. Truly magical.

Amazing food. All meals were fantastic and the children’s food was of an excellent quality. Vegetarians very well catered for; the soup and aubergine schnitzel were great! We found the staff really friendly and welcoming (apart from one miserable one who let the side down). All our questions were answered (husband wanted to know how the cut of beef was cooked). Looking forward to a return visit.

The food is very good but you need to be aware that the portions are rather small and service was very slow even though the pub was not particularly busy. I think it took over an hour after sitting down (at our booked time) and about 45 minutes after ordering for our starters to arrive.

The Emperors clothes - thinks it’s something it’s not. Great location and then basic gloomy interior with 1970’s artex ceiling! And one of us was looking toward the kitchen - you can see it through a window and you really don’t want to see an area with yellowed paint and just so in need of decoration. Food prices unjustified.

We enjoyed a superb dinner here. Scampi monkfish starter was tasty and the fish was moist. We last ate here pre-Covid and my memory may be letting me down but I think at that time there was tempura monkfish as a starter which was marginally better. Curry dip was perfect - not too hot but not bland. Spot on. Our pork main courses were beautifully cooked and so tasty. Lovely piece of meat cooked with great skill. Gorgeous dish. To finish there was a panna cota which was a lovely end to the meal. All in all a memorable meal. Service was first class. Our server was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere in the restaurant was totally professional but laid-back and relaxed.

Disappointing stay We stayed in Room Eight & we booked a double room. The room was basement level and was tiny with low ceilings, smelled heavily of chemicals and later mold. We had to keep the windows open but unfortunately the one small window opened out onto a busy road. The road was meters away from the window and the cars go fast, so it was really noisy day and time The bath was narrow and not full length and weirdly sticky. Really disappointed with our stay as we'd read such lovely reviews and the pictures (which are of different rooms to ours) looked so nice .

We can recommend going to Knightor for many reasons but especially the wine tasting we along with two friends had an amazing time and learnt a lot about wines and the wine making process, The wine of course is excellent but the day was made even better by our host Wayne whose knowledge of wine is excellent but more than that he has a fantastic way of explaining things, he is funny and genuinely a nice chap. If you haven’t tried Knightor for wine tasting then booking a slot is a must and ask for Wayne

Fabulous fish - I had crab, scallops and sardines. Perfect for one! With some bread, of course. Started with a Cornish Pastis - that's right, aperitif, not meat and turnips in pastry. Very friendly service and a gorgeous view over the harbour as dusk fell. Cannot recommend strongly enough!!

Beautiful setting overlooking lush gardens. Excellent, attentive service. Bread basket provided which was a nice touch. Had the Cornish lamb with lynonnaise potatoes which was very tasty and perfectly cooked vegetables. Wine list, bar drinks and good Prosecco served in small bottles.
