The best curry house i’ve ever tried! fresh food, flavourful, lovely staff very clean environment and it’s a very beautiful place would definitely recommend to friends. ☺️

Great as always! I was here with friends for a pre cinema supper, arrived early and was warmly welcomed by the manager who remembered us from previous visits. Drinks orders taken quickly and we settled with the menus…… Food was great, had an onion barji which was smashing. Everyone said they enjoyed their food, no better recommendation. As previous diners have said the place does get busy so best to book.

The food is exceptionally good and value for money. Staff are friendly and place has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent chicken Tandoori. The same one as i used to eat in India. Everything is full of flavours. The service was very good. I would not change anything

The rather bland exterior of the restaurant, adjacent to Maidstone West rail station, belies what surroundings and delicacies await within! The door opens into a warm, welcoming and friendly ambience throughout. We arrived at 16:40, just ahead of the official 17:00 opening time, but were welcomed by the manager and invited to take our places at our pre-reserved table. Booking is essential! We started with drinks whilst pouring over the hugely extensive menu. They have a fantastically inviting range of dishes with so many options that we struggled to order! Starters were absolutely delicious and gave us an early indication of just how great our mains were to be. Our 'sizzler' dishes were presented sizzling hot and our various tandoori curry choices and sauces were cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Always welcome! Generous portions meant that we had no room for desserts or even able to shoehorn in a coffee! By the time we left, the restaurant was heaving ... and understandably so! A must visit! You will NOT be disappointed! All in all, a 5* first time visit throughout .... but definitely NOT the last! We're already looking forward to our next catch up in 2025! Tip! I suggest booking for an early sitting, as we did, as the restaurant was absolutely packed by the time we left. Also with a very busy takeout service!

Excellent find near my hotel in Maidstone. Lovely little Nepalese place doing fabulous authentic spicy dishes. All staff really helpful and friendly, recommended the chicken gurkhali curry which was fabulous, and had a wonderful kick to it. Great food and great value. Highly recommend it and definitely be returning when I'm back in Maidstone.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be going back. The food and service were excellent. There was an extensive menu and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

I was taken here for my birthday and from the moment I walked in I was treated like king ! The table was decorated for me including a balloon and they even bought me a candle in ice cream at the end of the meal - fantastic food and service Really made my day -any thanks

The food was really tasty and had the element of uniqueness that definitely sets it aside from other Indian and Nepalese restaurants. The Naga chicken curry and their special biryani are the highlights.

Honestly has to be the BEST curry I’ve ever eaten. All the food was so flavourful and freshly made. I do not normally like onion bhaji. But these were the BEST I’ve ever tried. I will certainly come here again. Great atmosphere too.

First time coming, we came here for the Sunday buffet, the managers and staff are so attentive and cannot do enough for you. The all you can eat buffet for £25.95 per person is fantastic value for money, all the food is made to order and was delicious, there was nothing we didn’t like. Will definitely be coming again!

Nice curry house, good food , nothing wrong with the place. Should probably give them 5 stars but could always be a bit cheaper.

Highly Recommended and if we are ever back in Maidstone we shall definately return !

I have nothing but praise for this place. The food is delicious! And is a price match for majority of other restaurants despite the “£20-30” tag here on google reviews. If you get the restaurant owner as your server for the night, you are in for a treat. What a delightful guy with the most amazing energy, even when there were not many customers. Truly the best service I remember having in years. I even oversaw how accommodating he was to a family that complained about their foods spice-level, despite being warned and saying yes anyway. Highly recommend!

Authentic Nepalese Food (also Indian) Expect more home style cooked food where every ingredient is visible in the curry (no fancy curry paste) Many spicy options available 🌶️ Momos are good, Naan are good So far, I have visited five times in the last one month, every dish is unique and tasty 😋. Prices are reasonable and affordable

The time requested was not noticed and we weren't ready for our food, it was delivered very early and one person wasn't home yet so not very happy

What a hidden gem. Ignore the unusual location - train station - and step inside to be greeted by the friendliest of staff and delicious food - even the dips were amazing. Such good value for money too; tandoori mixed grill comes with naan (or chips) - the naan was so light and fresh and the Ghurka beer the same. Couldn’t fault this place and the next time I’m in Maidstone, I’ll be eating here. Thanks to the chef too b

The food is good, but the last couple of times there have been issues with missing items and the delivery times. One of the times it was so long it would have made more sense to go and collect it. Disappointing.

Food took a while to come out but that's because they were super busy and we weren't in a rush anyway, happy to chat and eat poppadoms until the food was served and it was worth the wait!

Had a meal inside a while ago and really enjoyed it, we went as a large group. Everyone's meal came out together and on time and was delicious. I thought to try the take out and it didn't disappoint. Quicker and cheaper to order direct than through delivery and it arrived hot and tasty. The food is clean (not too oily or greasy) fresh and the lamb is succulent and not like any others I've had, absolutely delicious! Will now take the family back to eat in again

I came today with my parents for the first time since before the lockdowns, and we can't wait to go again. We tried the lamb momo, which was incredible. My father loved the lamb naga, and my mum is definitely going to order the Mis Mas again. The waiter was lovely and attentive.

Took my dad to The Gurkha for his birthday and we both had a great time. The food was hot and tasted really good! All staff were friendly and thorough. Really great at their jobs and our waitress in particular was extremely friendly…sorry can’t remember their name. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the tables were displayed nicely and just a pleasure to have dinner there. Whoever owns this restaurant should be proud of themselves. It’s a hidden gem. If you’re ever in Maidstone looking for somewhere to have dinner, I recommend this place.

Went here last Saturday with some friends for dinner before we hit the town. It was the first time I went to this restaurant and I must say I was not disappointed, in face quite the opposite. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The lovely lady behind the bar was called Niru and she was so friendly and polite. Our waiter was actually the manager Ashis (think I spelled correctly) and he was one of the friendliest guys I've ever met at a restaurant. I had the chicken tikka missala and was really nice. Was sent out quickly, was nice and hot, and just very tasty indeed. My friends also thought it was a great restaurant and the ideal place to have eaten before hitting the town. This place is highly recommended and you will not be disappointed. My personal rating: 10/10 :-)

During my recent visit to Gurkha Chicken, I had an excellent experience. I was excited to try Nepali dishes for the first time and was not disappointed. The Peshwari Naan was a standout dish and a clear winner over regular Naan. The combination of sweetness and spiciness was perfect and it was baked to perfection. The Veg Samoosa (set of 3) was delicious and the sauce that came with it was marvellous. The Samoosas were small but filled me up, and the filling was perfectly spiced. The Mushroom Rice was really good, with the rice cooked to perfection and the mushroom adding a subtle flavour. The Jalfrezi Chicken was also good, but not as great as the other dishes. The curry was sufficient to eat for two people, but the flavour was not as bold as I had hoped. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with my meal at Gurkha Chicken and will surely recommend this place to friends and family.

Excellent service and very good food. Would definitely recommend to others. Amazing service and food tasted brilliant especially the chicken style dishes and the naan was baked to perfection. In my opinion I would give it a solid 9/10.

As always Gurkha Kitchen does not disappoint. We have tried many curries in the South East and this is without a doubt the best we have found. Highly recommend and the service is excellent.

I recently visited this fine dining gem in Maidstone with my family, and it was an absolute delight! The Mix Platter as a starter was a perfect choice. The Gurkha Mix Grill that followed was just amazing😊as it was perfectly cooked, and was rich with tasty Nepalese spices. The ambiance and service just made our evening the best one. We left with satisfied taste buds and wonderful memories. Highly recommended!

What a good meal! And in the most unlikely of locations situated next to the Maidstone West station. Several things impressed me about The Ghurka Kitchen Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Maidstone. The onion bhajis were some of the best I’ve ever had. Someone in my party described them as “spectacular”. They were crispy on the outside but still had the substance and moisture of the onion on the inside. We think they had an extra kick of chilli. Everything worked. And then on to the main. Rice (egg fried and mushroom), chicken madras, chicken bhuna and chicken pasanda (which was not on the menu but made specially because one of our party really likes it) . I had the madras which was nicely hot, with a building heat, but which was also flavoursome. I had a little taste of the other dishes and they were simply delicious. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the food was served at an ideal pace, leaving just the right amount of time between courses. Looking for a good Nepalese/Indian meal in Maidstone? Lovely food, and service. The owners were lovely. We were just passing by, we had seen this restaurant, so many times on our visits to Maidstone. Great location, by Maidstone West Station. The menu choices were fab. Was seated promptly. There were 2 parties, but we still got fab service. Geat choices of drinks and food. Starters and mains were delicious. Im sure we will be back to visit again soon x x

The food was beautifully prepared and attractively served and tasted delicious!. The staff definitely went that extra mile to make us feel welcome and there was a lovely atmosphere. Lovely and warm too despite the freezing temperatures outside!

What a lovely Christmas experience. We enjoyed a great meal on Christmas day at the ghurka. The team were very attentive and the service was quick.
