The Gurkha Kitchen in Maidstone

Food took a while to come out but that's because they were super busy and we weren't in a rush anyway, happy to chat and eat poppadoms until the food was served and it was worth the wait!

Curry was lovely and plenty of food.

Most delicious gurkhali chicken. It was an amazing experience to try nepali cuisines after a long. I strongly recommend everyone to try once. Loved it!

Tasty lamb tikka and great service 👍

Had a meal inside a while ago and really enjoyed it, we went as a large group. Everyone's meal came out together and on time and was delicious. I thought to try the take out and it didn't disappoint. Quicker and cheaper to order direct than through delivery and it arrived hot and tasty. The food is clean (not too oily or greasy) fresh and the lamb is succulent and not like any others I've had, absolutely delicious! Will now take the family back to eat in again

I came today with my parents for the first time since before the lockdowns, and we can't wait to go again. We tried the lamb momo, which was incredible. My father loved the lamb naga, and my mum is definitely going to order the Mis Mas again. The waiter was lovely and attentive.

Went here last Saturday with some friends for dinner before we hit the town. It was the first time I went to this restaurant and I must say I was not disappointed, in face quite the opposite. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The lovely lady behind the bar was called Niru and she was so friendly and polite. Our waiter was actually the manager Ashis (think I spelled correctly) and he was one of the friendliest guys I've ever met at a restaurant. I had the chicken tikka missala and was really nice. Was sent out quickly, was nice and hot, and just very tasty indeed. My friends also thought it was a great restaurant and the ideal place to have eaten before hitting the town. This place is highly recommended and you will not be disappointed. My personal rating: 10/10 :-)

Took my dad to The Gurkha for his birthday and we both had a great time. The food was hot and tasted really good! All staff were friendly and thorough. Really great at their jobs and our waitress in particular was extremely friendly…sorry can’t remember their name. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the tables were displayed nicely and just a pleasure to have dinner there. Whoever owns this restaurant should be proud of themselves. It’s a hidden gem. If you’re ever in Maidstone looking for somewhere to have dinner, I recommend this place.

During my recent visit to Gurkha Chicken, I had an excellent experience. I was excited to try Nepali dishes for the first time and was not disappointed. The Peshwari Naan was a standout dish and a clear winner over regular Naan. The combination of sweetness and spiciness was perfect and it was baked to perfection. The Veg Samoosa (set of 3) was delicious and the sauce that came with it was marvellous. The Samoosas were small but filled me up, and the filling was perfectly spiced. The Mushroom Rice was really good, with the rice cooked to perfection and the mushroom adding a subtle flavour. The Jalfrezi Chicken was also good, but not as great as the other dishes. The curry was sufficient to eat for two people, but the flavour was not as bold as I had hoped. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with my meal at Gurkha Chicken and will surely recommend this place to friends and family.

Excellent service and very good food. Would definitely recommend to others. Amazing service and food tasted brilliant especially the chicken style dishes and the naan was baked to perfection. In my opinion I would give it a solid 9/10.

As always Gurkha Kitchen does not disappoint. We have tried many curries in the South East and this is without a doubt the best we have found. Highly recommend and the service is excellent.

I recently visited this fine dining gem in Maidstone with my family, and it was an absolute delight! The Mix Platter as a starter was a perfect choice. The Gurkha Mix Grill that followed was just amazing😊as it was perfectly cooked, and was rich with tasty Nepalese spices. The ambiance and service just made our evening the best one. We left with satisfied taste buds and wonderful memories. Highly recommended!

What a good meal! And in the most unlikely of locations situated next to the Maidstone West station. Several things impressed me about The Ghurka Kitchen Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Maidstone. The onion bhajis were some of the best I’ve ever had. Someone in my party described them as “spectacular”. They were crispy on the outside but still had the substance and moisture of the onion on the inside. We think they had an extra kick of chilli. Everything worked. And then on to the main. Rice (egg fried and mushroom), chicken madras, chicken bhuna and chicken pasanda (which was not on the menu but made specially because one of our party really likes it) . I had the madras which was nicely hot, with a building heat, but which was also flavoursome. I had a little taste of the other dishes and they were simply delicious. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the food was served at an ideal pace, leaving just the right amount of time between courses. Looking for a good Nepalese/Indian meal in Maidstone? What a surprise this place is. Looks can be deceiving. It's located in a large mobile near the station, but the food was incredible. Meat was high quality and tasted amazing, cooked really well. Service was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Bit tight inside due to space, but if its not busy it's a great place to eat. Highly recommended.

This is the 3rd time i've been to the Gurkha, and the staff were patient and welcoming as they usually are, i received great service and felt very at ease in the restaurant, definitely would recommend to others and will be coming back.

Four of us dined on a not too busy Sunday evening. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. The food was the best Nepalese/Indian I have tasted. I had the lamb Gurkhali with side dishes to share. It was fantastic, the lamb tender and spicy, the sauce complemented it. The other three also really enjoyed the meal and the service. Very reasonable prices.

Ordered through Deliveroo. Paid 27 pounds for a main, rice, naan and popadum. I've been eating curries for over 35 years and think I know a good one by now. My main had hardly any chicken and the spice level was way over a vindaloo and I ordered a madras. The heat was too much to even finish the dish. The rice was basically like the supermarket yellow ready meal microwave stuff you get anywhere in the UK. The naan was cold and looked like had never seen a tandoor in its brief life.
