Lovely place to have an Indian meal. You are made so welcome, the waiters are very friendly. Can't recommend it enough.

Have been here several times. Latest being 30th Dec 23. We had a party of 5 blokes and the staff/boss couldn't of been any nicer. Always happy to help, great food as well. Highly recommend. Chicken Naga was great BTW.

Fantastic meals and choices, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Can be a bit noisy when fully booked as with most Indian restaurants large male groups get very loud. Well worth a visit

Best Indian restaurants around. We have moved to bluebell hill then to Rochester but we still go to this restaurant to order. My favourites are prawn vindaloo with cream spinach with special fried rice. So good!

'english' menu chicken and chips was dire. Small portion. Very dry and no taste. And arrived 10 mins after the rest of the table. Forgotten and no apology. I do not recommend.

I appreciate this is not the most fashionable restaurant n Maidstone. It however served the best Indian food in the area . The quality of the food is second to none ( I have tried a few ) every time we have visited it has been great. The owners and staff are polite And grateful for your custom. We are always made to feel welcome and enjoy the experience . If you have not yet tried it, do so. You will be impressed.

This was the best Indian me and my family have had in ages! My family are originally from East London and they have had a good Indian since being down brick lane, so we would 100% recommend this restaurant. Huge menu choices, I would definitely recommend the salmon tikka wow 10/10!! Will be returning soon!

Me and my girlfriend were visiting the area and we chose this restaurant because of the previous reviews and we both agree that this place is fabulous! The food was delicious and the staff were warm and friendly. We will definitely be visiting again when in Maidstone! If you want authentic Indian food, do not miss this restaurant…it’s been here for 49 years for a reason!

Everyone in my group had upset stomach for a few days after a dinner here. I thought maybe it was just me but that wasn’t the case. Seasoning was also quite bland there could have been more to it. Customer service was good but the food itself and the restaurant itself wasn’t up to the reviews.

My first visit to Tandoor Mahal was with a large group. I don't think one of us has/had a bad word to say about anything. The service was impeccable, considering how busy it was on the night. The food was delicious, served quickly, and everything was correct. The bill was more than reasonable too. I think for the thirteen of us it came to around £320/350. I'm looking forward to returning. Possibly the best Madras I've had in the last 4 years.

We have only just started to use this restaurant since moving to Maidstone from Gravesend. We have tried others in and around the town. Including take aways via just eat. This restaurant is by far the best tasting meal and the service is good. Well worth a visit.

I was disappointed on my first visit to this restaurant. Went on the good reviews aswell. Arrived at the restaurant as I had a booking I reserved a few days ago. The staff member that greeted us didn't even ask for the booking name. Had poppadoms for starters and then ordered main meal. When that turned up the plate was like warm. The food was pretty much the same. Not much attention given during meal as from asking if everything was ok. We won't be returning to this restaurant again.

We have visited many times over the last 7 years. The welcome is always warm and we’ve never had a bad dish. It’s so good our teenage children are now taking their friends there. We visited with our children and their partners last week and it was as good as always.

Think this was my first visit in quite a few years due to lockdown. The placd could do with a clean up from the outside but the food inside was absolutely delicious. One of the best naan breads I've had, one of the tastiest mains I've had. Good service and that's what matters. I will be returning !!

Been to the Tandoor Mahal many times. And collected takeaways even though I have closer Indian Restaurants to me. Food has always been great either way. The staff are always welcoming and will help with choosing a dish if not sure what to have. If there is something you was after and not on the menu ask as they will always try to prepare this for you. The brothers who own/run this place have done so for many of years and you can tell this the way they go above and beyond with the service. Tonight’s I had Chicken Tikka Dansak, Pilau Rice, Onion Bhaji & Keema Nan, Washed down with Kingfisher Beer and complementary Coffee to finish the night. Thank you.

Was staying overnight at the travelodge across the road. We came across this place by chance and so glad we did. Fantastic service and excellent food. The choice of food will suit anyone tastes. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go take the time to talk to you about the dishes on the menu. It's also very relaxing atmosphere and it's very well priced

Wasn't expecting anything special, and the place was very quiet for a Friday night, but have to say I was very impressed with the food. The lamb dish cooked with limes, starters, sides & breads were all absolutely spot-on. Couldn't understand why it wasn't much busier. An excellent meal

We noticed this restaurant whilst having an overnight stay after visiting Leeds Castle. The food is amazing, so flavoursome and delicious. The service is also excellent and it is obviously a favourite with locals. Highly recommended, would certainly be our local if we lived here!

I went to Tandoor Mahal for a family birthday meal and it was absolutely spot on. They have the best yoghurt sauce for your poppadoms and they just keep bringing you more and more. I would definitely recommend the Tandoor Mahal for all occasions as the food is good and the staff are friendly.

I have been going to this restaurant since 1983 and have known shipa and shalim who run it nearly 40 years. They are so welcoming and friendly, the ambiance, and the food is amazing, and allways has been. I took my partner there last night, a master chef contestant, (a real food critic) and she was blown away with the quality of the food, the welcoming, and ambiance. Wow, the food in this lively friendly restaurant,was well above my expectations, all served by Shalim and staff. Absolutely blew me away,especially the King prawn passanda cooked in cream and mint.Sonia and Nigel.

I have been visiting this restaurant for some years, and have always supported them even with the now famous neck worn insect affair, however the last time I visited with my wife I feel we were seriously over charged. Our food should have come to no more than £30, and we had 2 drinks each, wine and JD & coke, but our bill came to £74! So apparently we drank £44! Such a shame, as the food has always been excellent, however we shall now never return.
