Visited whilst on holiday in Norfolk. We were first in at 5pm and no-one else arrived. Food was amazing and we sat up in the beer garden. Unfortunately we have now found out they have closed the business.

I'm sorry to give it such a low rating. It is always sad to see a business that is run so poorly. Mine you there were several people there at 4 pm on a Sunday.

Love the Gull Inn, food is always super fresh and really good portion sizes. Sunday buffet has the best crackling and potatoes for miles around but get there early, it's so popular you don't want to miss out! The staff clearly gave a good manager as the customer service is second to none, easy 5* review!

The Gull is our go-to place for a Sunday Roast when we need one. It's always busy, has good selection of meats and we are well looked after.

I don’t normally give poor reviews especially in this climate but the staff were atrocious and rude. The young girl who was serving behind the bar was friendly and nice, but the main house staff were rude and not accommodating. The food was very average, not worth the money. The food come out, but not at the same time and three of us had already eaten our food by the time our children got theirs. This place has a lot of potential, however, the management needs a kick up the backside and they also need manners. We wouldn’t go back, plenty of better places than this. Appears to be very shambolic

We had the 2 meat Saturday carvery what was lovely we got there at 3.15 and got straight up to the carvery but we finished eating at 4.10 only to be told there would be no afters coz kitchen closed at 4 and wasn't offered a discount or anything shame the waitress didn't come round and said before 4

Very tired inside. Small car park off a very busy road which could be a problem on busy days. Carvery had an excellent reputation.

We had been told that the Sunday Cauvery was very good, this was under statement service was spot on the host herself the staff were so keen to in-press and you can see why the the Cauvery and the home made deserts were 11out of 10 Thank you so much See you soon And thank you

Lovely traditional Sunday roast lunch.

We had the best meal we’ve had in a very long time, would definitely recommend it the staff are really pleasant and very welcoming. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back. Thank you to all involved in making our experience memorable.

Very quiet evening during the week so no pressure on the staff but 2 meals selected from the special board menu listed with rice came with mash and no explanation why. 20.40 and just finishing our last mouthfuls we were faced with the question from the waitress, anything else? No thank you was our reply so we were presented with the bill there and then. I'm all for efficiency but this was we have your money now go home we wish to close. Feeling most unwelcome we exited, last customers out, before 21:00. Do you want customers to enjoy their meals at leisure and have a nice evening out or not. Unimpressed.

Best Sunday carvery I've had in a long time. Fantastic food, friendly, helpful staff. Great location with ample parking. I would recommend booking as it's very popular.

We went here for the Steven Treadaway experience. The ‘event ‘ didn’t happen so we were supposed to be refunded out ten pound show fee. However on the night, we were charged our full bill minus the deposit that we had paid - so no refund. We went the next day to get our refund as another customer had highlighted their scam on Facebook. They say they have refunded everyone now but they wouldn’t have done if they hadn’t been caught out. Be wary of this place. And as many other reviews say the Chinese owner was extremely rude. We were lucky she didn’t shout and swear at us as she did to other customers but she was rude all the same. Many reviews on here, Facebook and trip advisor say the same. Edited after owners reply - well done for finally doing the right thing. The point is you wouldn’t have done the right thing had you not been caught out. Shady behaviour. Not to mention the Chinese owner’s behaviour. If it was true it just an error with the tills as you say. Yiu would have mentioned it on the night wouldn’t you? You tried to get away with scamming around 30/35 people but you got caught. And I haven’t even mentioned the exorbitant prices of the drinks and the inedible food. There were so many bones in my fish I couldn’t eat it and the ‘cheesecake’ didn’t taste if anything at all. £19.95 per head for inedible food. Charged £1.80 for my lemonade mixer and never brought me the bottle. All a moneymaking scam it seems. Sub standard food and entertainment. The only good thing was our blonde waitress was nice and attentive which is why I gave three stars for service.

As always the service was great, a fantastic selection in the menu and specials board, the food excellent and excellent value for money for such a good experience. I don’t know why it isn’t full with customers to the rafters! This is my favourite restaurant in my local vicinity (I live in Poringland). If you haven’t tried it then I suggest you give it a go for food and/or drink!

Family get together meal. Lovely food and friendly service.

I won a carvery for 2 which we used today and I have to say it was the best carvery we have had! The meat was melt in your mouth and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Then onto dessert and what can I say… the rhubarb and custard and the lemon and lime cheesecakes were delicious. The service was great and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit. Thank you!

My group of nine and I went here mid-week after our dinner reservations got screwed up elsewhere. We arrived not long before closing and the waitress who helped us was amazing - she was so accommodating and helpful, let us order whatever we wanted even though the kitchen was closing imminently (it might've even been closed and she was just too kind to enforce it!), and was so sweet about it all. And then to top it off, the food was excellent! We all had such a lovely time and agreed it was the happiest mistake ending up here!

I pre booked a table for 2 at least 24hrs in advance. Travelled 25mins, to be told upon arrival, that the electric and gas were not working and no food service was being prepared. Appalling customer service. Not even a phone call to inform you. When they said they tried to call I asked to see the details, they had written one digit wrong. Didn't seem to bother the staff about this inconvenience. Not impressed!

I really liked the Gull the food was good. If you're looking for a Sunday carvery the Gull will not disappoint. The only reason for four Stars was the drinks were very slow to be brought to the table.

Wowwww..... what a very refreshing surprise !! My better half and I habe just returned home from a stop by luncheon here !! From the moment we entered til the very unwanted leaving... EVERYTHING was perfect !! We were welcomed with a wonderful, warm , sincerity... seated and served by Carole... 100% perfection... smiley, friendly and so very informative upon every enquiry I made. Being a lunch time... we chose the Gull burger... followed by apple & fruit crumble... superb flavours and quality. We will definately make a habit of ddining there as often as possible. Fully recommend the whole experience... and thank the whole team for such a wonderful and refreshing experience. Regards Gordon & Carole

Excellent food, great service. Had the baby ribs with black treacle BBQ sauce which was very filling! Made us smile when the owner walked past to serve another customer their cheesecake and made sure we saw how good they looked with a cheeky grin. Will definitely book again.

Had a drink there on weds following a 5 mile walk with a friend. Seemed very nice, sat by the wood burner. Had a nice chat with the owner. Decided to visit for a meal. So today , Sunday, I booked a table for 1.15pm for myself and teenage son. It was very busy. Waited a few mins to be seated. We opted for 2 meat carvery For 14.95 each. From sitting down to going up and returning with the food was 1 hour. Frankly that was ridiculous. Staff were all really busy and we had to wait to be told we could go up to be served. Clearly something went wrong. The food was good, but my son had no vegetables as he only likes peas, which weren't available, so not sure his meal was worth the money. However staff worked really hard and pub is nice. I would think twice about revisiting on a Sunday as the waiting was excessive.

Hands down the best carvery I’ve EVER had! Good selection of meats all melt in the mouth, beautiful fresh vegetables, the biggest Yorkshire puds!! Great price too. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend

Going to keep it short and sweet, won’t be going back to this place again, not worth the money

Lovely time had for my Dad's 75th birthday meal. 20+ people. Slight changes to menu on the night was a little disappointing but on a whole the food was lush and the service good - especially as down to only 1 chef, they did a fantastic job!

Having a meal with a large party , I found at least 3 meals not to have been served with correct items on the menu. Yes, they were a kitchen member down, but the excuses that came come from the kitchen were laughable. Not sure I will be returning in the foreseeable future. Having said that, the food that did arrive on the table was tasty and enjoyable.

Food portions were very small and over-priced. Also lacked taste. The bao-bun starter was £8.50 very small and dry, nothing like advertised. Main courses we had a double stack burger which was good but served on a pizza board. A rump steak which could be doubled up for a few quid but apparently had sold out, despite only one other table eating! The third main was chicken served with a mac cheese ball, we were all absolutely shocked at how small this dish was and it cost £17.50! 3 starters, 3 mains, 2 cokes and a beer. £91 and we were still hungry. Will definitely not return.

We have been coming here for some time, always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the fact that our greyhounds were always welcome. This visit was a disappointment as the food was not up to the usual standard, dispite the new Head Chef ! Come on "Gull", you can do better than this!

Wow! What a fantastic place! Wonderful staff, happy and really working together as a team such lovely people. The food we had was amazing and was cooked to perfection. Brilliant carvery and plenty of choice.

Food not great and service was not very good , it is very expensive for what you get too . A child's meal 8.00 when it's so small is not worth it, I do understand prices gone up and bills but remember if your charging £8-10 for a posh sandwich for adults kids should only be £5-6

Went to the Gull on Sunday as we had some awful meals out at other local pubs. The Gull was amazing. The food was cooked to a very high standard the pub was clean and tidy and the staff made us all feel welcome. We will be returning with other family and friends.

Great faulty towers night, food was delicious

We came to this establishment after being to Winter Wonderland at Norfolk Showground. Had looked at it on the web and Facebook previously. When we arrived on the Sunday just after 16.00 the welcome was excellent. It was not over busy for the Carvery and a table was readily available. The waiting staff were excellent and two of the staff immediately bonded with my stepsons young daughter, who is only 14 months old. The wine choices were really good, but they had run out of Fruit Shoot. The Carvery itself was tired. The meats were fine, but a limited choice of extras compared to other similar establishments. Certainly not a pish Carvery. The Chef was not very helpful and quite surly. Expensive for what it was. You have to have two meat choices. For a 14 month old child £11.95 for a Carvery is ridiculous. Most places do similar for under £5 in a small bowl. The veg and extras on the Carvery were as I say tired and a bit dried. The Roast Potatoes were very tough skinned and there was also a limited choice of veg. compared to other carveries we have used. The proprietors should visit Burgh Hall to see how a good Carvery is done. The waiting staff were excellent and very helpful, but for three adults one 14 month old child and with two glasses of wine, one shandy and one dessert the bill of £87 was excessive and certainly not justifiable

4 of our 6 meals were cold and had to go back so we ended up eating separately, we got free coffee but didn't really make up for that!

Visited here with my mother and her partner tonight.... one of the best meals I have ever tasted. The service was efficient quick and friendly. If in this area pay this place a visit absolutely amazing menu that looks and tastes amazing. 😋 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 xx

Mistakes made and seating was very poor

We didn't know what to expect when we entered the Gull, i was thinking it would be cosy and small, in contrast it was large and airy. The tables and chairs are charmingly mismatched but a little tired. The food was faultless, a pizza which was big enough for us to share, and skin on fries, excellent. We would have preferred to have sat in the cosy, pub like section rather than the rear. All in all a good venue with great food We revisited and sat in the cosy part and it was so much better, the service was amazing and the food still great

Second visit both a great experience, food was superb From start to finish all staff were attentive friendly hard working, all worked as a team and had smiles, so nice to see. Food was outstanding, cottage pie was different and done to perfection, you have to try it. Well done to all will be back soon for sure

Nice place but the drinks prices are eye watering, needs a rethink

Excellent food in a lovely atmosphere, pls the staff were very nice. Would highly recommend the carvery, tasty and beautifully cooked, plus perfect roast potatoes. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the carpark is only half the size needed for the capacity of the restaurant and it's on a busy road. We had to park on a grass verge which felt a bit dangerous.

Nice pie and vegetables seemed a limited menu

Came here for a meal and a medium night. The food was ok but small portions. Ambiance in pub was poor. The entertainment was that good. Expensive night out .

Great service, great food as well. Very nice to visit a restaurant that provides a nice setting. The out door section looked great and indoors there is plenty of room. Will visit again I would recommend the Pigs Board and Cottage pie (Beef Brisket) we’re amazing. 10/10

Had a lovely lunch here. I had steak and friend had suet pudding, both of which were lovely and nicely cooked. Staff were friendly too. A word about the chips that came with the steak.... they are the best I've ever had, anywhere!!!

I've had 2 fantastic meals here in the last week. The food is of exceptional quality, I found the portion sizes a little too big for me but both meals felt like great value for money. Rachel looked after us both times and for quite a young lady, she has an abundance of charisma and is fantastic at her job. A real pleasure, I look forward to bringing more people along.

My partner and I had our first meal out this lunchtime since having our second baby 6 weeks ago. I think I will remember it forever, not because of the company (as wonderful as he is), not even because its the first time my baby girl has slept through at a meal time, but because the food was nothing short of AMAZING. We are both huge foodies and my partner in particular can be hard to please and we never leave reviews like this unless it's completely deserving. The steak was cooked to perfection, the brownie a perfect chocolate hit (my partner said this was in fact the best one he's ever had out) and the Jam roly poly was just gorgeous. Honestly if you're thinking of visiting the Gull, stop thinking and just go! Worth every penny (and reasonable too!!) We will be back at any given opportunity! Thanks for great service and the best food we have had in forever.

Nive decore an atmosphere, staff pleasant an good menu to get stuck into, variety of soft an alcoholic drinks to choose from and a good cavery with selections of meet from I think they had 5 different meats on when I last went... But don't take my word for it go check it out for yourself 😋😋🤤

I have visited The Gull 3 times over the last few weeks meeting up with family and friends and for a nice lunch date with my son. Its a lovely pub with nice indoor and outdoor areas. At each visit the staff have been friendly welcoming and very helpful. Everyone has enjoyed their meals. My son devoured their roast in a hole which looked amazing and I would definitely recommend the crab and crayfish risotto which was on the specials board and was by far the most delicious risotto I have ever had.

We where lucky enough to win the Facebook comp which we enter every week without fail for their carvery. went today with my sister, my boyfriend, my 2 year old, 7mobth old and 1 year old nephew. We had a fantastic meal - exactly how we expected. The meat was beautifully cooked and the sides where delicious. I’m not normally a restaurant roast potato/yorkie fan but I thoroughly enjoyed both! We then had pudding and this was the second time I’ve had their sticky toffee (we have been during the week once before) and it was honestly the best I’ve ever eaten. The service was fantastic and they where so accommodating as I had forgotten to mention about the nephew and baby when I booked! Absolutely fantastic we have booked again for two weeks time to take the mother in law for her birthday! Thank you again! If you go during the week try their pork belly - it’s honestly *chefs kisses*

We attended on Saturday evening 3rd September booked by my daughter for my wife's 59th birthday we had a lovely outside pergola. We were seved by a young 15 year old that was perfect nothing was to much trouble . We all ordered and from that moment it all went wrong for anybody attending the menu is not correct in what you are ordering on certain items I ordered a double stack which came with no bacon and the double stack came as a single .curly paprika fries came as French fries and wedges didn't exist please check the menu and ask questions lots of apologies but still paid full price will not be going back

We booked for Sunday carvery for 4. This is the 3rd time I've been for a roast/carvery and I have to say we were all super disappointed. The carvery really wasn't great. Veg was alright. Meat was ok but not spectacular, but sadly the roast potatoes were pretty much inedible. They were crispy but so crispy you couldn't cut through them. Everything was just a bit lacking sadly. We did tell our waitress when the table was cleared but no real apology was made and nothing was done. We were treating 2 family members for their birthdays and felt terrible as they really didn't enjoy their meals. Highly doubt we will return. *edit - we came on Sunday 7th August and never had a conversation about the chef being off/having a stand in chef so unsure if we have been confused with someone else. I cannot reply to the comment from the owner so thought best to add this in.

Nice to be able to sit out in the garden and enjoy a meal and drink. There is a bit of traffic noise as close to the main road but not bad enough to cause a problem. We both had the Steak burger with chips and salad and it was very tasty and filling. The service outside was excellent and very friendly

Had a Sunday carvery had the 3 meats really tight on the meat poor selection off veg no mash my son wasn't allowed a sausage because he didn't have the turkey meat was good but not the best dint think I will be heading back there anytime soon disappointed
