The Groucho Club in City of London, Westminster

Had a fantastic time at the Groucho Club last night! The food was top-notch – started with perfectly cooked scallops and followed it up with a delicious rabbit ragu. The atmosphere was electric, such a cool vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for a fun night with great food (and can get in with a member).

Only visited as a guest, not a member but I love the bars and quirky spaces. Food is delicious. Also a great location for theatres around Shaftesbury Avenue.

Being a private club, I prefer to keep any comments private.

Held my 50th here, staff were fantastic and we had a great time. Such a fun place. You can hire private rooms even if you're not a member.

I have never experienced such rude and unpleasant front desk staff anywhere, in any other clubs in my life. Truly despicable. Special mention to the security staff as well .

Great food and staff, relaxed feel

Provided some games for an Xmas party here, staff were super helpful and the venue is beautiful can't wait to work here again. Access is a little tricky but not the worst we have found and definitely doable. Thanks everyone Liam A1 agency ltd

The receptionist who was working Sunday 26th November at 21:10pm is an absolute embarrassment to this establishment. This man is unpleasant, rude, and in a job he's not capable of doing. He is arrogant and tried to tell me he was a share holder. A message to you sir. If you are that unhappy and that better than others then get yourself trained and do something with your life.

Cosy members club ,exceptionally friendly staff

Pricey, and it's only open 'till 02:00. I wouldn't shell out for a membership. If you're likely to miss the last train home and need somewhere warm and dry to come down in until the trains start, consider getting a membership for Ronnie's. Obviously, Ronnie's clientele is a bit rougher than the beautiful and the wealthy who like to adorn Groucho's, but some of us can't justify spaffing a grand a year on membership fees.

Located in the heart of Soho, The Groucho is everything and more! Mark Hix had transformed the food menu and there are utterly exquisite dishes in there! The staff are wonderful, the space warm and friendly - a home from home until the night draws in where it’s party central. Great DJ’s, incredible events and a wonderful time had by all!

Dirty, strange, loud, tacky…probably not the club to go if you are used to member’s clubs in Europe

We visited Groucho for the first time yesterday and were served by Ritchellyn who was AMAZING!!! They were so attentive and lovely and really made our whole experience there so relaxing as we were celebrating with a friend. They constantly made sure we had drinks/food and never once did we have to call them over. Anytime we asked for recommendations they were always spot on with what we were looking for. What an asset to the Groucho team and definitely reason enough to come back again! 😃 thank you Ritchellyn! ❤️

Cute place, nice decor, a little bright lighting wise.. kind of makes it feel like a work event, strangely. Music could be better (sorry ) a laid back dj would be perfect here. Great service at the bar, faultless.

Has-been vibes, but everyone there thinks it's the height of glam and cool, which makes for a very cringe experience.

It's always a pleasure to be there the staff are very friendly and helpful the food is lovely and the cocktail are made to perfection but the only thing you can only enjoy it if you are a member

Love it A real London institution

Never in my life have I seen ketchup and mayonnaise presented like this. Service is crazy inattentive. Everything is too expensive. But the ketchup mayonnaise debacle is what really drove me to leave a scathing review. Grim.

A perfectly nice club with quirky surroundings. I sense that the clientele are very pleased with themselves. Not actually that much fun for a Soho club. Better to go for some of the Soho boho offerings that stay open till three that are less well-known but offer a more lively experience

Very interesting club, the canapés for the event were excellent and I enjoyed all! The event rooms are spacious and can fit 70-100 people for a nice cocktail event. Highly recommended for private parties.

A very different yet good experience

WORST service I’ve experienced in years. went to a comedy night tonight, a contact of mine added me to the guestlist. as soon as i walked into the premises the two women at reception were nothing but rude, condescending, and passive aggressive. i told them I was in the guest list and they said i wasn’t, then proceeded to be really rude about it, rolling their eyes like i was bothering them when it’s literally their job to welcome people and assist them. again, i insisted i was in the guestlist, and they reluctantly checked again. turns out the whole time they had mispelled my last name. then one of the women gave me really confusing directions to the floor where the comedy event was happening, i just walked into the bar area to make my way there and she got mad at me, rolling her eyes and saying, really aggressivelly “i’m giving you instructions and you’re NOT listening!” apparently i had gone the wrong way, which was a mistake due to her really vague directions. do they get trained to treat their customers like rubbish? the whole time they made me feel like i was a nuisance and like i wasn’t welcome. i was in the guestlist, i was literally invited. i’ve never had a member of staff treat me this bad for no reason.

They were adamant that the service charge was mandatory when being served at the bar. The menu had champagne listed at £70 but they charged £75 and said all the menus (also in the restaurant) were wrong. They were dismissive and under staffed.

It has a very cool vibe but prepared to get lost within its corridors should you venture beyond the front room...

Amazing place. Best bar in London if you can get in.

Never been there so why are you asking for a review?

Not as impressed or wowed as I thought I would be. Staff really lovely and very friendly and down to earth. But pretty underwhelmed by the decor and quite disappointed with lack of attention to detail. Since a child I have always found a great leveller and judge of quality about an establishment to be the presentation of the 'ladies powder room', (favourite being the Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds - 3 ways of drying ones hands!) And this one was well.. generic... rather basic.. could have been any reasonably priced restaurant. And I think that's just how inside felt, just an ok lounge in a reasonably nice hotel or restaurant. A nothing special sort of place. Just didnt get any character, love or generally anything interesting about the place. Friends / close associates too who were there or who have visited on other days had also said they were pretty underwhelmed. Glad I have been. But after my evening felt especially disappointed.

Groucho's is engrained in Londons night life. Expect to rub shoulders and minor celebrities and nightlife personalities. A busy bar, with great art that adds to the character of the place. expect to get lost in there and look for the secret doors.

Very friendly private club, from reception to everyone working in the restaurant. We ate at the downstairs restaurant serving Italian food and the service was BRILLIANT! The food was nice and ample and the prices were fair (I was not expecting that).

Attended a wedding here one of the couple is a member of this beautiful and arty place. It was an amazing maze that I was lucky to be invited to. Should have taken more photos but oh well… I enjoyed it more with my eyes and senses. The canapés and drinks were great, I enjoyed them all including the bowl food, was lovely to see that they adapted some for those who have allergies etc. Staff were lovely and friendly, I enjoyed a brief chat with B from the cloakroom. Bar staff made sure we were all tended to.

Attended a party. Great venue. The canapé and small bowls they serve is quality. At times they were light on bar staff.

My partner is a member here. Incredibly hospitable, the club was closed but we stayed in the hotel room for our anniversary. A lovely stay, comfy and gorgeous. Will return many times.

Visited as a guest for pre theatre drinks and a long awaited catch up with friends. Very good atmosphere and a good place to meet up.

Wonderful evening at Martins birthday

Just perfect - an escape in heart of Soho. Never had a bad night and always so welcomed by the great staff

We visited on Saturday as part of the Pride event. Our afternoon was overshadowed by the attitude of a bartender on the first floor. We ordered through a waiter (even though we were stood in front of the bar) and the bartender began making the drinks. As my beer was ready the waiter passed it to me. Bartender then shouted at the waiter for passing on the beer and not waiting for the full order to be ready. Absolutely vile and disgusting attitude. It was clear the drinks were for us and there was no need whatsoever for the bartender to belittle the waiter. I hope Management sees this an identifies the bartender in question - he was the only male on the bar. He should be embarrassed by his attitude. I will not be returning.

Had a fantastic night there with Steve Dagger. Beautiful food, great service, great wine and fantastic company. What more could you ask for.

A private member's club. There last Friday to as Sarah HB was DJing. One of the best nights.

Wonderful experience, small bedrooms but very clean and with a powerful shower. Two restaurants two bar areas! Very good food. Amazing artworks and very eclectic.

Great night... Great service too in a very busy fun filled and slightly left field venue... highly recommended

Had an ok evening before the dreaded lockdown kicked in.. We had a telling off more some magical table levitating sessions but the staff were friendly. The lack of background music seems a missed opportunity though and drinks are definitely on the steeper side of fair... 3 5 ⭐

I totally love this place. The staff are all so, so helpful and friendly. Great restaurant and a fab relax zone with big sofa's. Well stocked bar too. You do however need to be a member or be invited by a member to enter.

Good art here on the walls, especially that of Hugh Mendes and Gordon Cheung.

This is a member’s club, so only available if you’re invited by a member or become a member, meaning a review seems kind of cheeky given not everyone can visit. However, the vibe is incredible and the food delicious. Simple food but made really well with high quality ingredients. And prime location in the hub of Soho.

Experience let down down by really quite poor service, suggestive of a lack of proper training.

Love this place, initially introduced by Phil Sams but been here many times since, think it's time I got a membership.

Excellent place to stay with a great dining room. The ambience is amazing

More down to earth friendly club.

Very much still it's thing, but it gets way too crowded. If you are after a club that feels exclusive and with enough room to be comfortable this is not it anymore unfortunately. Pity, it's past its heyday.

What's not to like about the G Spot, even around Xmas?

I used to be a member here, and I still would be if I had the chance to go more than once a year. The staff has changed, and we loved those guys, but the truth is it feels just the same. Flawed and fabulous in equal measure. It's the one and only.

Nice place beautiful people, i Been Working in this Club and the kitchen Team is Like a Family. Top food what we cooked really can recommend to eat in this privat member Club.

Cool and comfortable soho joint where everyone is able to enjoy their own vibe. Just as enjoyable on a weeknight as it is on the weekend. A visiting friend who frequents the Club more often than I says the food has improved greatly... I definitely noted the smooth, professional and friendly service and loved every one of the many dishes that the 6 of us shared. If you can get in, do go.

The Staff were very attentive and we were served by Lorenzo at the restaurant down stairs. His attitude was amazing, he gave us plenty of recommendations and the food was absolutely delicious. As a whole you feel really welcomed at this members club and I would highly recommend it.

Pleasant enough, quite a bit less smug than Soho House....
