We visited Bath for our wedding anniversary in July. Found this place on Tripadvisor and decided to take the 20mins walk from the city centre as the food looked amazing. We were glad we did and had one of the nicest lunch ever. Service was very good too and the food was reasonably priced. Can recommend the sour dough with smoked trout (on photo) and the tandoori chicken sandwiches, both very tasty. Will definately go back if we go back to Bath. A must go place!!!

Mich & Nick provided the catering for our wedding in February and I can't thank them enough. We've always been frequent visitors to The Grocer and felt their food was amazing so we were delighted they could do the catering for our wedding. The food was exceptional and plentiful, a fabulous three course meal befitting of the venue (a castle!), the staff were excellent on the day as they always are in the cafe. Nothing was too much trouble and they were a pleasure to have as part of our wedding day. Would highly recommend whether for food in the cafe or wedding caterers!

Just completed a walk into Bath when we found this café which was unknown to us. Enjoyed a very tasty freshly made sandwich with ham, cheese and salad in good crusty bread. A very friendly cafe / grocer. The food is amazing, prepared and cooked by knowledgeable and experienced chefs. If you're lucky enough to see advertised (or ask) their Friday supper club is exceptionally good and incredible value, (I believe Nick (co owner) used to be the head chef at the Moon and Sixpence (one of the best restaurants in Bath, before it sadly was bought out and changed name)). The grocer side offer a good range of essentials and treats, including wine and beers.

During a beautiful bike ride from Bristol to Bath I decided to stop at The Grocer on Locksbrook. This will be my first of many visits to come. A lovely iced rosehip tea. Iced coffee (it had been a warm ride) but the star of the show was the salad platter I had a beautifully simple carrot salad and a fennel and radish salad with tahini. This was stunning. Added to the warm ride was the warmer welcome. My friends will get fed up of me talking about this great little find very quickly. And I was even able to lock my bike up outside. What a result.!

So unassuming in its setting and the building, it's a shop with tables and chairs but lends itself to being a restaurant with the quality of the food that is being produced. With whole-foods on offer a quick snack ended up being the meal for the day and no complaints about the service in the laid back atmosphere. We picked up some lovely bread and filling to go so sandwiches are sorted for tomorrow as well. The only downside is that it's only open one or two evenings a month (dinner club) otherwise we would be back for evening meals without hesitation.

This is such a nice quirky restaurant and grocery shop with only the top local produce on display where vegetables really look like vegetables and there are always interesting items that you cannot resist. The food is really special made by the owner Michelle, each day she prepares a casserole and there are plenty of toasties (my favorite brie & cranberry with a little side salad beautifully presented) or other small snacks, salads or quiches if you do not have much time. Michelle is a lovely lady and very welcoming to her eaters! Easy to pop into as there is parking at the side where you can usually find a space.

Not much parking and in a location that you might question, but seek it and make the effort and you will not be disappointed (unless you can't get a table!). They understand coffee here which in my book is a great starting point but also they understand food, it is natural and fresh, modern, satisifying and really good value. My personal favourite, I'm told by the lovely owners, Nick and Michelle, is their top seller, so I'm not along - it is the smashed avocado on sourdough, with smoked paprika, I make an attempt to recreate it at home and it's not bad, but each of their ingredients is perfect, the combination perfect, they do it best, I'll keep on going and keep on eating it. Plus loads of goodies to tempt you to buy and take home.

If you have read any of my other reviews you will know as a family we are all vegetarians. So we are always on the look out for new and exciting places to eat that wont break the bank, and I have to say that when we first stepped into The Grocer we werent disappointed. That was well over a year ago and whilst there have been a few staff changes the food and service has remained consitently great thanks to the owners who make everyone feel at ease and who obviously work extremely hard to achieve both the great food and the service/ atmosphere. We are a local family, but even with the choices on offer around us, it is to The Grocer we gravitate, so much so we probably visit on average two - three times a week. Breakfast, Lunch and Supper Club, each time we have always had a positive experiance. So with warm and friendly staff, delicious food with plenty of veggie and vegan options and great coffee its a must to try out. That said we dont always eat in and often its a milkshake and gingerbread man to go to sustain us on the way home from school...

Had seen this little place online lots so decided to give it a try. Managed to find a table. Ordered 2 bacon sandwiches & 2 coffees but asked for mine well done. The bacon was cremated unfortunately on both of ours which didn’t bother me but my Dad didn’t enjoy it all all. Coffee was lovely. Service a little on the slow side but there was only 1 lady working and it was reasonably busy so wasn’t a major issue. Will revisit again at some point as it is a lovely little place.

I know. Bath has SO MANY wonderful coffee shops…. But MUS is delightful. Immaculate seating in this intimate location, with exceptional coffee served by genuine Spanish/Colombian speakers. Sit outside or in, stroll down Widcombe’s shopping area or over the road, next to the river, all the way to picturesque Pulteney Bridge. Relax. Or meet for a business meeting that can’t fail to go well. MUS is a MUST.
