Great location and excellent front of house let down by overpriced food. Sadly the kitchen is letting down what should he a must visit location for foodies in Pembrokeshire. My wife like her starter but it was rather a miser Ely portions of just 3 King prawns served with industrially produced bread which was somewhat stale which IMHO did not justify the 15 pounds charged. I had ordered the fish soup at 14 pounds that seemed to consist mostly of tomatoes with just a hint of fish flavouring and no discernible piece of fish or other seafood it was really rather bland and tasteless which left me disappointed. My wife loved her fish and chips mains at 19 pounds but the sauce tartare was thin and acidic, I suggest chef samples the produce of the Scallop Shell in Bath or the Salt and Mash in the Mendips (Fish and chips offshoot of the famous Michelin starred Pony and Trap restaurant), two of my top fish restaurants at home in Somerset. Biggest disappointment was the Jack Dory, excellent fresh fish, but overcooked and dry and the sides were flavourless and bland and not at all what the very nice waitress promised. I could neither discern blue cheese or bacon in the potatoes dauphinois or sauce. It would have been good value for half the 32 pounds I paid. I appreciate good ingredients cost money and you pay for service and location and do not query their pricing . But premium pricing and great ingredients require great cookery skills and I felt this was somewhat lacking. It can be done and I am happy to pay the premium but in this case I would question the relationship between some of the food served and the price charged. I would love to come back as it is an amazing location and has great possibilities but is currently let down by the kitchen.

Reservé una mesa para comer un sábado por la noche. El sitio web fue complicado de usar en primer lugar. Pedimos una hamburguesa con queso y una hamburguesa haloumi, posiblemente fue la peor comida que hemos comido, 12. 00 cada uno para básicamente una hamburguesa en un panecillo con papas fritas a un lado, la hamburguesa haloumi era dos piezas de queso en un panecillo NO hamburguesa. No me sentía cómodo porque el distanciamiento social era inexistente afuera con personas cambiando de mesa en mesa. No volveremos a visitarnos.

¿Usa guantes de látex para servir, tomar dinero y pasar al siguiente cliente? Ok para el vendedor pero no ayuda al cliente. . . . quien dio este consejo? ? ? ? No para nosotros ! ! . Lavado de manos / desinfección de manos. . entre clientes . aceptable y mucho más higiénico. . Guantes para quitar gafas y placa usadas perfectamente aceptables. No podría quedarme aquí hoy.

Buena comida y buenos precios. El personal fue muy amable y la comida llegó rápido. La hamburguesa imbécil es muy sabrosa aunque un poco picante. La pasta de tinta de calamar fish n chips estaba bastante sabrosa.

El menú es bueno y definitivamente tiene un gran potencial bajo el nuevo equipo de administración, pero definitivamente hay algunos inconvenientes que se deben modificar primero. Pedí pastel de col rizada y champiñones con puré. Mi amigo tenía una hamburguesa y patatas fritas, pedimos a las 12. 45, llegó a 1. 45 y estaba bastante vacío en el pub.La mía era sabrosa y pedí salsa (creo que debería haber venido con ella, creo) y eso me dio un poco de humedad agradable. La única decepción con mi comida fue el puré, no tenía sabor y era realmente almidonado y pegajoso, como el pegamento, no agradable y esponjoso como esperarías del puré. Era como si hubiera sido mezclado por una licuadora. La hamburguesa de mis amigos estaba bien, pero el chef había cubierto sus patatas con toneladas de sal. Estaban tan salados. Los clientes pueden no tomar sal o un poco, creo que esto debería dejarse a elección personal. Le daría otra oportunidad, ya que creo que probablemente son problemas iniciales. Esperamos que comiencen el programa de música y el nuevo cuestionario.

We came in here before going for an Indian meal nearby. It is a friendly comfortable pub and our cider was delicious.

Don’t bother visiting if it is slightly busy, huge queues at the bar, staff lacklustre, queue jumping prevalent. Really spoils the experience. Avoid.

Great pub, perfect in summer as the beer garden is lovely. Can be busy but the staff are always super friendly and there is great live music on the weekends!

The beer garden is amazing! Inside is a little small so can get a bit busy, but who wants to sit inside when it's lovely outside? Good choice of drinks and great staff!

Only popped in for a swift pint. The garden was rather crowded with tables and there was broken glass lying around.

Restaurant typique sans prétentions.Service et accueil sans reproche, petite mais bonne carte.Très bon moment, abordable en prix nous avons apprécié la nourriture et le cadre.Vous pouvez essayer sans être déçu.

llegamos al pub alrededor de las 9 en punto y una hermosa y cálida tarde soleada. pedimos nuestras bebidas y nos dirigimos al jardín de cerveza. Me quedé muy impresionado. pub encantador y un gran jardín de cerveza y área al aire libre. ideal para relajarse en una tarde tan cálida. lamentablemente, solo lo experimentamos durante un par de minutos y lo enviamos de regreso a un pub congestionado. probablemente igual en una noche de invierno. pero no una tarde de verano muy calurosa.

Mein Lieblingspup im Norden von London. Riesiger Biergarten, gute Weine und sehr gutes Essen.

Metimos en una cerveza rápida el otro domingo. Terminamos el cerdo envuelto en Pancetta con puré y verduras de temporada. Fue absolutamente deliciosa y representaba una gran relación calidad-precio. Seguido que con un bonito y apple cayera ruibarbo con helado, que también era de primera clase. Esta era la segunda vez que me he comido en el Griffin y disfrutamos muchísimo. El pub tiene un concurso noche y música en vivo en un sábado por la noche y sirve buenos ale con una sonrisa. Si te encuentras en la zona pop por una pinta. No le decepcionará.

Excellent local traditional pub. No real bells and whistles but very popular with the locals because it's friendly and does the important things very well.

Went in the evening with some friends, a few tables were reserved but we found some in the back. Amazing food at reasonable prices and a good selection of drinks. New favourite :)

Fuimos para el almuerzo un sábado, ya que era el único lugar probable buscando a mitad de camino a lo largo de la Valle Greenwalk or wants. Resultó que era un buen lugar para el almuerzo. El personal era muy amable y hablador. Servicio rápido.

Only popped in for a pint but could have stayed longer, all night even. The friendly staff really make this place stand out.

Came with my son I had calamari to start which was pretty good for pub grub Chris had breaded white bait which was also good served with mixed leaves but! 10 whitebait! Come on put a few more on guys I had Angus burger again well cooked and no complaintsChris had Cumberland sausage and mash again all good we had 8 morreti pints and the wife came in last knockings and had a large Chardonnay total bill was £76 will be back thanks

Lovely beer garden. Alcohol selection is ok, nothing special. Service is alright, could be faster. They have live music and pub quizzes quite often which is good.

I always go in here for my Sunday roast when me and the missus can't be bothered to cook one and it is always spot on. The size is decent too, my last roast beef, I got a decent amount of beef with my dinner and I was stuffed by the end of it. The roasties are top too.It can get really busy, but you can always find somewhere to sit. You have a lot of locals that go in here and you can see why they keep going back time and time again.I go here with my friends too when we want to watch a game, it's not a normal football type pub so you don't get all the typical behaviour that you would in certain other pubs.There's a few times us "couples" go here for a quiet drink mid week.They have a good selection of drinks and I am assured by the girls that the wine that they all go for, is a decent one and not like paint stripper.They are also dog and child friendly, as one of our group has two little ones and a dog, and they are always welcoming. Not that the pub is overun with children though.All in all, even though it is not my local, it is worth the drive over to have a quiet drink with friends, dinner, or a few pints with my friends.A solid favourite of mine.

After my last visit here, was not too happy at a friend for saying to go back. I was WRONG!I went here for lunch on a Sunday and it was an all round good experience and great food.I got served immediately, but I was waiting for a friend and I didn't know what he wanted, but no drama, she gave me my wine and let me just stand there chilling until he arrived, then served him immediately.We went outside, what an amazing back of pub area to have. Copious seating and areas to sit in! We sat under a heater as there was a TV on with the football in the background. They also had outdoor toilets too. I was thinking these were going to be grim, but they are better than some pubs indoor toilets!We went inside to order our lunch and our order was taken straight away by a cheerful waitress. It didn't take long for our Sunday roasts to arrive. There were blinking good, I can say that! A really great homemade standard and I nearly licked the plate clean. Yumyum!They bought over mustard and horseradish, asked if we wanted extra drinks, even though it's not the sort of place with that table service.We could have easily stayed the afternoon there and drunk the night away, but it was a school night!Definitely going back here and soonest too. Top staff, great food and easy environment!

Recently visited the pub for a few drinks before going for a meal locally.I was genuinely shocked at the prices charged. Vodka/mixer and large glass of wine was £12.80! needless to say we only stayed for 2 drinks.Pub was very busy and had a good buzz with live music. I would return but be prepared for hefty bar prices.

Hired the function room for a birthday celebration with around 50 people. Room was maybe a little small for that number but generally all was fine. The buffet was good, well worth the £10 per head charge. No one went home hungry as far as I know.There is no dedicated bar for the function room, so it may not suit everyone, and I had to supply my own P/A for music etc, but for basic needs it's fine.Helpful staff, and a good range of beer available, and decent food make this a good choice for any occasion.

This pub has a great garden and is lovely in the summer. Friendly staff and also great to watch sports as so many tvs

This is not a restaurant, but rather a pub that does limited food. Do not use their website as any indication of what food is on offer as you will be disappointed. Food was not great either - fish and chips were soggy. Very nice pub, but do not eat here.

We decided to have a meal there as we listened to the music (which was excellent)..sadly the food was very poor and won`t be going back to eat......this pub is in such a great location and has been around for decades, at one point it changed its name to Scruffy Murphys for some reason...., It appeals to me to have a drink with friends which I`ve done, as the atmosphere is good and their garden at the back is superb...but as for eating ....I don`t think so !

Garden is really big and beautiful and atmosphere too.Staff is friendly, prices of drink are like in most pubs I guess,but food is not the best.However summer time evenings in Griffin garden are enjoyable and I hope that we will get the chance to spent a few more there during this summer!

I only went for a drink with a couple of friends but was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the vibe that the pub gives. Even some of the gents at the bar were friendly.I had never been before but would most definitely go again!

Following Olivers answer to my previous review, we contacted him, and the family returned for a complimentary lunch on Mothers' Day. This time everyone was very welcoming, Both Oliver, and his staff were charming and could not have been more helpful. We all enjoyed the meal which was delicious. I hope we will go again.

Booked a table for 6, mentioned that it was for a family gathering, and to watch our team on the good size TV. Told the table would be in the annexe. Arrived on time, only to be told that there was no such reservation. Don't know what happened to it, as name taken, and confirmation given earlier in the week. Everyone v. disappointed, especially the children. Offered a table under cover, but in the open air. No heater .Cold february day. not for us Not what you could call great service.

Been to this pub a couple of times and food and service is great. Good value & tasty food from a small menu, decent portions with a great choice of beers on draught so what's not to like about this pub. If I lived closer i would definitely be a regular. My recent visit was on a cold and dreary Jan night and good atmosphere but visit in the summer and they have a fantastic beer garden that you won't know its there unless you ask but well worth a visit.

Used to be a great lover of this pub but in the past year it just seems to of gone down hill with the closing of the club across the road, maybe not the managements fault but weekends its out the door and the clientele are pretty scabby

Caters for everyone including teenagers. Food good and well priced, good atmosphere. Lots of entertainment including magician/illusionist Leon.

Wyśmienicie spędzony czas przy wspaniałej muzyce . Codzienne wieczorne piwo smakowało jak nigdzie. Muzycy zaś reprezentowali jak najbardziej profesjonalny i wysoki poziom. Szczególnie wieczory jazzowe sprawiły najwiecej przyjemności.

The place was a bit shabby and looked liked it had seen better days. We went for a nice family lunch and think it would be better suited to younger groups of people drinking. Saying that the staff were friendly enough and the food wasn't awful.

Staying at the Travelodge Whetstone we called in the Griffin for a quick pint on the way to the hotel,from the tube.What a find,great hand drawn beer, good selection of wines and good atmosphere.Definitly worth a visit.

Great burgers, sky sports (for the football), a large beer garden, and a spacious smoking area. A regular place to meet with friends (though I don't always eat at the Griffin - usually eat next door at the B-B-Q Grill)

Just stopped in to the Griffin, thinking it looked like a nice pub. Ordered 2 half pints of lime and soda... was charged £5.20.We drank up and left. Won't be going back.

Food generally good and reasonable priced. The service is not as good as it used to be (the barmaid that served us had serious attitude, didn’t smile once and no please and thank you). The cleanness has also gone downhill. However, in saying that, I hope they get their act together soon as it’s a nice little local that does good live music.
