Great Asian food but quite expensive...

Fantastic service from Sammy and Jeremy. Pleasant atmosphere and delicious Thai food with great portion sizes and value for money.

I have been to this Exceptionally Beautiful 5 Star Award Winning Pub once only with a group of people. The Owner of this Pub including all of the Staff Whom all work in Collaboration with Each other are all Equally as nice as one another in their own ways and they are also very kind and very understanding People themselves. The Food Hygiene Rating's at this Pub have Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating's. The Chips at this Pub are Extremely tasty and very delicious as well. The Owner of this Pub Employs very reliable and very trustworthy and very dedicated Staff to come and work at this Exceptionally Beautiful Pub. The Chocolate Ice-Cream at The Elephant Inn is very Beautiful and very tasty as well. I would definitely like to come and enjoy myself at The Elephant Inn again in The Foreseeable Future.

Jazz night. Great music, excellent food and slick service.

Lovely place to have a pint, but a bit overpriced

I went on a Friday and really enjoyed the live music and the venue had a friendly atmosphere. The bar service was very slow hence the 4 stars. Didn't get to try out the food but it looked very tasty...

I came to watch the autumn internationals (rugby) here a few weeks ago. The food and service was really good, however in the room with the big screens there were people in front of the screens playing pool. Although this was annoying, what was worse was there was someone who kept trying to "fight" people in our group trying to insinuate we were racist for watching rugby????! He was very drunk and appeared to just be there to try and fight people. I'll be coming back for the six nations, but it'd be great if the pool table was out of use for the game and the staff were a bit more attentive of people trying to cause trouble. Edit: came back for the six nations, pool table was out the way and service was decent so changing my rating to 5*

Extortion. £16 for a Thai dish and you don't even get rice with it. That'll be another £4. So with a drink a few crackers it's £60 for two people.This is what you pay for pub food these days.

Sunday night Jazz and Thai food. What more could you want. Great food and service and the jazz was superb. Definitely recommend.

Después de que nuestro restaurante tailandés favorito en North Finchley había cambiado de manos, y los estándares de comida se deterioraron, llegó el momento de volver a visitar el Elephant Inn. El restaurante ocupa la planta superior con f el pub y está decorado en un estilo oriental chino bastante tradicional. El menú es típico, con todos los platos normales y algunos más inusuales. Pedimos un par de entrantes, ensalada de papaya y pasteles de pescado. Ambos platos eran agradables, aunque todos pensamos que podrían haber sido un poco más picante. Lo mismo se aplica a nuestros platos principales: un curry vegetariano y un salteado de verduras, y dos platos de ternera. Bien cocinado, muy sabroso, pero sin un poco de chile. El arroz de coco era precioso. Con todo, un buen sustituto para el restaurante North Finchley. No teníamos ninguna bebida, así que nuestra factura total incluyendo un cargo por servicio de 12 piezas era de £ 94 muy razonable. Y nuestra camarera amable, charlatana y feliz merece elogios especiales - fue un placer interactuar con ella. Sin duda volveremos.

Lovely pub, even though the elephant was not in fact in when I visited!

This pub has really gone down hill recently. Visited last night and had to wait ages for my lemonade and lime to be made because they "had to get a bottle of lemonade". Guy behind the bar looked and acted like he couldn't be bothered and didn't apologise for the long wait. After around 15 minutes the Thai crackers we ordered hadn't arrived. When my partner queried this at the bar he was told they'd forgotten to put the order through and we hadn't paid for them. We were shocked at how expensive our drinks were - £10.50 for a pint of lager and half a pint of lemonade and lime. We queried the price and were told the soft drink was over £4 - extortionate for small glass of semi cold and flat lemonade with a small amount of lime cordial (no fresh lime or ice). When we eventually got our crackers there was such a measly amount of sweet chilli sauce included, we had to ask for more. This used to be our regular favourite pub but has now lost our custom following yesterday evening's poor service, portions and prices.

Visited a month ago and was served by a lovely girl name Ella/Elisee something her energy was great. I came back last week with my friends and the other staff were so inattentive and dull, had to wait ages. Won’t be coming back

Good traditional brewery pub with great Thai food.

Llevo viniendo a este pub desde finales de los 80, aparte de una larga ausencia en un momento en el que cambió su nombre de la taberna Moss Hall a Elephant. La cerveza siempre ha sido buena, y la comida tailandesa que sirven también es bastante decente. También hay áreas en la parte delantera y trasera donde puede sentarse afuera cuando el clima es agradable. PERO realmente necesitan ponerse las pilas con respecto al servicio, que se ha deteriorado mucho en los últimos años. Siendo generoso, lo describiría como inconsistente. A veces es bueno, a veces es pobre, y a veces es inexistente. Esta hora del almuerzo, por ejemplo, justo antes de la 1 pm, estaba caminando a casa desde Finchley Central cuando se abrieron los cielos. Esto no es un hecho aislado, excepto tal vez por la cantidad excepcional de tiempo que tuve que esperar. He tenido conversaciones con otros clientes que han tenido experiencias similares esperando ser atendidos, ¡así que claramente no tiene nada que ver con mi cara! En general, me parece que hay muy poco en el camino de la supervisión aquí; hay un tipo que sospecho que tiene algo que ver con la gestión del pub (debido a) su comportamiento y ser) el hecho de que el servicio siempre es bueno cuando está cerca! ) , pero no podría decir quién está a cargo en el día a día. Este solía ser mi pub favorito - yo y mis amigos casi nunca fuimos a ningún otro lugar. Pero ahora tiene rivales. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat. But the atmosphere is really lovely, good service and the place itself is really nice

Very nice cosy large pub with thai food. Outdoor sitting, tiny beer garden and many screens to watch sports. Darts and pool. Expensive though

It was ok but there were people making trouble and I'm sure they ended up getting into a fight. Not exactly my cup of tea, I rather go somewhere more mature and elegant. Only went to Finchley to meet a friend so we popped in here quickly.

I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years... I would just like to flag up to the bar staff over the Euro Football tournament... What a fantastic team . Working frantically to give a Top service to customers... All the Best to Sam and the team.. I might just come back again. 👍🍻

This is a really friendly, old fashioned boozer that I’ve returned to recently after they finally cleared out the toxic management team that ran it before. Recently for the Euros where I was told that you couldn’t reserve a table (found out you actually could and that was annoying!). The food is nothing special either. The cheeseburger I ordered was rubbery, unseasoned and the chips were soggy (cooked on too low heat for too long). But you can order a pint of London Pride as it’s a Fullers pub and that counts for a lot. Also the pub has that really warm, classic feel to it stepping back in time. I love that. Sort the food out Fullers, you’d have a really great pub.

I went to watch a political comedian & found a gr8 pub with fantastic Thai food & lots of evening fun. Pool competitions , comedian's performing on certain nights of the wk. Well worth checking out.

Great jazz. Great Thai food served with music!. Easy parking in residential roads after 6pm and free too. So good to hear live music.

The atmosphere ,food and drinks are amazing, food had quite a reasonable price especially the deal with the starters, felt welcomed will definitely come back again. The outside area looked tidy and well looked after. Manager and bar staff seemed very friendly.

Overpriced and badly poured pint of Guinness, tables were very slow to be cleaned!

Went along for a jazz night.. Had a great time. Shame that the noise from the other bar was coming through but still enjoyed the night.. service, table service by Sean was to notch.. The fella was running to keep up! Well done Sean (Shawn) you worked your cotton socks off. We will be back..

Lovely pub restaurant serving authentic Thai food. Great place to watch the footy too in the pub area and outside front, plenty TV screens.

Have been here a number of times and it is always brilliant. The food is phenomenal and the staff are always super helpful. Can’t recommend enough. Anytime family visits I always bring them here now

The food here is dire, seriously overpriced and it’s just a pub, drinking here is fine but I could never recipe d the food, prawn toast tasted sour? Could t eat it

Just found this pub although I have visited the restaurant before which was really nice. I'm glad I discovered the pub itself as it's now my favourite pub in the area. Great staff who are super friendly, friendly clientele and a really good mix, two gardens, very spacious inside, different areas to sit in depending on the level of energy and atmosphere you can handle, sports matches shown on many TV's and a really large projector screen too, live music and performances which I haven't attend yet. A couple of bonuses as they also have a darts board and pool table. It's very nice that they have a pool table as pubs seldom do nowadays. What a Great job the management of the pub have done! This is what all pubs should strive to create! Love everything about this pub and can't wait to see you again very soon!

Great pub with amazing jazz artists on a couple of Sundays a month. The draw to go to this pub is the high standard of music, the Thai food available and the friendly, efficient staff. Worth travelling to and parking after 6.30 fairly available in the area

The Thai food at this family-run restaurant atop the pub was simply amazing. The cozy atmosphere combined with the delicious dishes made for a memorable dining experience. The staff were lovely and added to the overall charm of the place. I highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine.

Weird pub - the lounge and bar are like entire;y different pubs. The former quiet and unassuming, the latter full of "lads" watching the footy

This pub/Thai food has been going for so many years... my late grandmother used to love it! .. I have been a number of times through the years and it's still amazing... good food & service!

I visited earlier this evening (booking at 17:30 for 2 hours), for Mother’s Day with my wife and daughter. I have a few remarks to make: I made a call to change to the timing as I had to travel unexpectedly to my parents in Birmingham but was told it was fully booked and couldn’t change the time. When I returned the restaurant was mostly empty with many tables unoccupied… The service was appalling, which is not even the single waiters fault. It’s Mother’s Day, a busy day for your industry and you chose to put a single person who was trying his best to serve the whole restaurant? It took nearly 15-20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and I was putting the pressure on to order mains after. Could see other customers also feel the same. I asked for two coke zeros but was not informed it would be pepsi max, not a big deal but please make that clear to customers because many actually do not like pepsi max, served in a glass, from a tap rather than a bottle. The waiter did not inform me it would be Pepsi max and agreed to the Coke Zero. Again most likely not his fault because he was a single person on the floor. Last thing when I went to pay I asked the waiter about a gift that was promised when booking for Mother’s Day… he did not know about it did not check and just said ‘errrr no’ - firstly for management if you’re promising these things please fulfil them… my friend visited earlier that day and also had the same to say the above. I’m not usually a person to complain but when taking a £30 deposit, actually not even a hold, but taking £30, you’d expect better than this… The food was nice, but could be improved where I got a spicy dish with 3 red chillis, which was rather mild. Just a disappointing experience overall which I can’t really add much about the food now.

Tristan always makes our night special. Super friendly and great environment. Definitely a better cosier pub in North Finchley than Tally Ho or Bohemia.

I would like to make this very clear, this is not really to do with the bar staff or the pub itself. Last night I finished work and with a couple of friends decided we wanted to come play some pool, there where other people on there so we got a pint and waited our turn, when our turn came we har almost finished when I got to a part of the pool table wich was close to a lady and her fella, I politely said “oh sorry I don’t want to hit you do you” I then turned around to take my shot and she pushed my cue, I laughed it off and went for me shot, she did it again, I then said please stop you’re not funny, she then proceeded to scream and shout in my face about how “she owns this pub and I don’t know who she is and I’m nobody and she is gonna kick me out” she claimed she was French and was extremely drunk, her fella a big ginger bloke was extremely unhelpful but could clearly see she was in the wrong, I told her “ go away, leave us alone, your embarrassing yourself” she carried on shout and pushing me and grabbing me, to wich I really struggled to keep my mouth shut but I did and she still kept on going, and then she pushed the pool balls so it ruined our game. I wouldn’t usually ever leave a review like this but she was disgusting and if she is an owner or manager or somehow linked to the pub i would like her sanctioned in some sort of way. I know exactly who she is and her fella as the come into my pub a lot. I will be leaving both a review and sending this in email, the bar staff know exactly who she is. One of your bar staff was very unhelpful, an older guy quite short and curly long hair but I spoke to a young girl on the bar and she apologised for the lady.

I did not eat the food but it looked good . Menu is a mixture of Asian flavours. Staff very friendly. The toilets are very clean and have old style sinks and taps. A good selection of alcohol free beers.

What a lovely pub. Wood panelled and worn leather chairs and benches throughout. Great choice of beers, draughts even two gluten free beers. You can see it’s full of warm and friendly locals/regulars and has a very welcoming vibe. Separate sports bar with a pool table and a huge projector to watch your rugby/footy etc.

Discretionary service charge of 10 % will be added to your bill. Tips is a voluntary thing you can't take it an set specific amount that's disgusting. You are going to lose customer with that approach.

Always liked the Elephant. Have been coming here off and on for 20 years and two things have consistently stood out; quality of the beer, which is well kept and of a decent temperature and the quality of the well priced Thai food.

The service was amazing, Alex was very very friendly and made sure I had an unforgettable experience. He was very skilled and fast with making the drinks and ensured I received my food very quickly. I will definitely be returning to see Alex again. He has made my night.

Don't usually go to pubs, however after seeing some friends in the Finchley area we decided to dine in as we felt a little peckish that night, and I am pleased to say that I regret not coming sooner! The atmosphere was cozy, we all sat down and enjoyed a nice pint with a diverse selection of food options! Massive note for the spring rolls, very crispy! I also wish to mention the wonderful assistance from Sean, a wonderful gentleman who served us on the day!

Service here was amazing I must say. Came back to London via Lincoln for a few days away. Can't say I fully enjoyed my entire time down south but I did speak to an "Alice Mason" (I made note of her name). At this place. Thank you! We had somewhat of a bad experience prior to coming to you, but you made us right at home. Thanks luv :-)

Great authentic Thai food and beer. London Porter and Red Fox were outstanding. Why don’t other pubs offer London Porter on cask?

I've been now here twice for the jazz evenings. The music was superb but service at the pub disappointing. Staff obviously hate this event. They were very slow at the bar and rude. They were even rude to the musicians when they were asked to switch the music off so that the band could start playing. They do not serve people in the order that they arrive at the bar. They have also discarded the drinks menu, so it is very difficult to order anything if you don't drink beer. It's impossible to know the price. There is a really rude member of staff that confuses the orders and claims his English is not so good. Apparently, that is his excuse. He actually has an attitude and by all appearance struggles with the work. He ignores people and is slow. I hope that they take some action in his case. The pub used to be special but has obviously gone downhill now. It's not really a good venue for the jazz event. It's very loud with people and dogs competing against the music. I hope that the organisers will find a more suitable venue for their event because it's just such a shame. Both female toilets were blocked last time. I will try the Bohemia for the jazz event next time. I hope that the Elephant Inn will sort out its problems soon but in the meantime I will stay away.

Gone downhill in the last few months and today's visit confirmed it. The back room smelled of damp, it was cold and the beer tasted peculiar. I went up the road to a different pub, ordered the same beer and it tasted much better.

This is a lovely spot, a pub that serves Thai food!! Unique round here in North Finchley. Please let it be known, downstairs is a bar, food ordered at bar, if you want table service then go to the restaurant upstairs. The bar staff are friendly. It’s a sports pub as well but they accommodate non sports fans by the ‘lounge’ area so it a one show fits all for what you want. I haven’t been upstairs yet but I want to try.

We had booked a table for a birthday dinner as we fancied some Thai food in a pub atmosphere. However when we entered the girl behind the bar wasn't remotely interested and wandered off. The place was empty except for one couple. We told another member of staff we'd booked then sat at a table and chose some food from the menu. A member of our party went to the bar to order. She waited a while at the empty bar and despite being asked to serve us the barmaid didn't bother. So we left.

This is a friendly venue. They have board games, books and have also run a pool tournament! They serve traditional Thai food and provide entertainment by way of jazz music, comedy and pub quizzes.

Regularly eat and drink here after playing tennis in mid week Great Thai food at reasonable prices. Tried several options on the menu and all have been excellent. Fullers real ale always maintained in tip top condition unlike most other pubs in this part of London. Great service by Ben, Tess and all the staff.

It was a first visit to check out the jazz and the food. The jazz was brilliant. 9 of us in our group ordered from the good selection of Thai food and there was also some English meals, e.g. sausage and mash. All dishes were tasty. Everything was really good. Nice atmosphere.

Pretty poor service greeted with no enthusiasm to serve (would rather have a chat) as me and 3 other stood at the bar. I don’t know if the girl is having a bad day or she’s just a miserable little madam…but a word of advice buck your ideas up!. Tables left uncleared for around 20 mins and the table that have been cleared haven’t been wiped and cleaned…that’s basic stuff guys cmon !. Expensive beers, poor service, shall not recommend.

We ordered two pints of real ale and were charged £13.10, the most expensive pint of real we have ever had including Fuller pubs in central London. How can they justify £6.55, when I queried the staff they just sgrugged and were proud of the fact that irt was the most expensive pint we ever bought. The food was basically Iceland food and deep fried, the soup was so bad we had t osend it back and when they refunded us the ygave us a dodgy torn five pound note which we now cannot redeeem. This is one of the worst pubs I have been in in a long long time, please avaoid.
