The Griffin in Halton

Again the food and service were great. Food is always piping hot and the portion sizes are generous. Siobhan and her team always make us very welcome.

Never again, the premises are dirty in total need of a refurbishment. The food was cold and sent back, the few staff that were in the restaurant were helpful under what looked like difficult conditions

Thought I would take the family out. Greeted by Hussain and Sheila who are perfect hosts. The menu explained and I was spoilt for choice. The sea-bass was delicious

Came here on Saturday night to sample Burns night menu. Pheasant, Haggis, Venison and Balmoral Chicken all excellent. Service, Staff and venue all great. Thanks for having us, we will return

Our meals were cold my starter was a lot different to the menu discription.. replaced after complained.. Then main was appalling with a hard egg on my gammon & cinnered pineapple.. delivered by a rude foreign man who kept going back to his work colleges discussing our complaints 🙄🤪😡 I wondered why we hadn't been there for ages ... We won't be going back for a very long time 😠

My two daughters and myself ate there on a Monday afternoon at 16.00 hrs. We all had fish medley. It was served cold apart from their French fries which were hot. My potatoes were so wrinkly it was obvious they had been precooked and left standing around. The waitress agreed the food should not have been served like that to us. The fish was so wet it was definitely undercooked. Later that evening all three of us suffered bad stomachs and nausea. (We all live in different households and it was intimated we all had the same virus….this was not the case. We complained and were offered £50 off next meal. This equates to £16.60 per head. We refused such paltry compensation since we missed part of the concert we had booked due to effects of the food at The Griffin. I will never eat there again and have subsequently heard many adverse comments about this establishment. I rate it Zero.

Called in for midweek lunch, as usual great friendly service, enough choices on the menu to suit most people’s tastes. We chose the Lasagna and bacon and cheese and bacon beef burger, both perfectly cooked and tasted yummy, washed down with a couple of glasses of cold Peroni. Great place to eat, very well managed, friendly efficient staff and top marks to the chef and kitchen, we will be back again soon. Highly recommended.

just had a response from the manager and stating the grill was broken on the 28th January 2023 yet if you read previous reviews you will clearly see another customer had the same problem totally unacceptable if you have any sense stay away the staff are rude and totally ruined my 65th birthday ended up having a take away in the end every where was booked up even though i booked a week in advance unacceptable.

Really nice interior. Staff was really welcoming and tentative. Food was impressive and reasonably priced. I ordered the Gammon with rum and cola glaze , My partner had the lasagne, both meals were exceptional we will definitely be coming here again. Best meal out we've had in ages. Thanks

We have been here many times as a family and have always enjoyed it. Beautiful family pub inside and out. Play area for the littles ones outside as well. Food is lovely and quick service. Would highly recommend!! Our waiter hussein was brilliant, friendly and kept the kids entertained when he came over to the table

Attended the griffin with my family today for a meal sat in the garden and was served by Meg she was lovely. We asked about the food she she recommended food it was great. Meg was brilliant and she deserves a mention nothing was to much trouble. Thanks Meg for the great services

We had a very delicious afternoon. The place is very nice, the food was delicious and the beer very cold as I like it. Hussein was our table assistant and he made the afternoon even better, very kind, friendly and knows the menu and gives great tips. We will comeback, off course!

Starters fine … but roast dinner not worth the money at all , frozen roast potatoes , not much meat on and was cold , tasteless really , felt sorry for the young waiters serving on, then had to listen to dogs barking away in the restaurant bit downstairs…. While eating our meal , definitely gone downhill … wouldn’t go again waste of £50

Had the special starter chicken livers over cooked, dry and tasteless. Three of us had beef roast under cooked veg, frozen roast potatoes, tiny portion of over cooked beef the kids portion had more meat than mine. I was told that it was the correct portion size even though my wife's portion was quite obviously more substantial than mine. They did eventually bring out some gristle beef which was just as bad. We had an extra portion of cauliflower cheese tasteless and not enough sauce on it, if your youre gone buy in frozen crap asda have frozen cauliflower cheese that is much better. The wine was good. £80 down the drain.

Great family meal today. Superb food, hot, yummy and plenty of it. Really lovely atmosphere and great service. Caitlin our waitress was great

Nice and friendly service from the moment we walked in, we got sat at a table in a quite area as we have a newborn that was fast asleep, Megan took are order and looked after us for are visit and she was excellent and a credit to the company well done team keep up the good work

Friends told us we must visit this place for good food and service; so we called and booked a table for a family of 4. We arrived on time and was taken to the dog friendly section without asking (we did not have a dog with us) at the back of the eating area. There was family with a very large dog. I think the look on my face said it all. My advise to the managers: ‘please in future ask’. Took us to another section at the front with a free table for 4 that was free when we first arrived. Waited over an hour for the main meal that was very disappointing…..just bad. I will however give 5stars to the waitress who was very lovely and apologetic.

Our first meal indoors , post lockdown . Connor was very helpful and we chose hake and steak, mushroom and red wine pie. Food was lovely , great service and busy but not in close contact with people , very well organised .Five stars all...

Brought the grandkids for some tea tonight - food was fab - served by Georgia who was great and attentive as we were sat outside Outside area is great 😀

Found it by mistake was driving from cronton and came to pub went and had a pint staff very nice the food looked good but did not eat will return and try the lamb looked good Derek 👍🚘🇬🇧

Really enjoyed lovely food, we had lamb , really tasty fell of the bone, and alsn 2 signiture chickens, cooked to perfection , very quick service, and the lovely siobhain was very helpful, all staff where lovely,

I wouldn't describe this as best for a family visit (no food) but the side lounge has a pool table, a cracking jukebox and fabulous retro decor. Beer is good and prices are very reasonable.

Went for Christmas Day and it became a very special family meal made even more perfect by the attention to detail on the tables. The food was abundant and also delicious. Very friendly staff, the manager included.

The service was amazing, Siobhain was very polite, thoughtful and considerate. She made the time in the restraunt incredibly enjoyable. Remembering past drink orders and being all together very welcoming. Thankyou very much for a lovely evening!

Lovely inside the pub but the food was crap me and my husband got a roast dinner the Portion size wouldn’t have filled my 7 year old up Aunts Bessie roast potatoes a tablespoon of vegetables one slice of Turkey frozen turkey and an gravy...

Good food and good service, varied menu and nicely set out pub and restaurant. No complaints here.Plenty of room to park and a childrens play area to keep them entertained.

Went for a quick late lunch with brother, ordered mac n cheese with bbq bits with triple cooked chips, brother had steak sandwich, service was terrible, had to ask waitress in the end to take order as she spent most of the afternoon in the...

We visited this evening service was poor had to ask to place our order and once order placed waited 45 minutes to be served main meal and starter was missed out completely.also had to go to bar for another drink otherwise we would not have...

The Griffin has improved enormously over the last few months. The menu is very good, the food is excellent and the staff are helpful and courteous.
