Lovely staff 2 big pizzas and chips fed 5 kids nice atmosphere and beer shall be returning again a great local pub also dog friendly with treats on the bar

Had a lovely day out elsewhere then went here!!! I was served with a fly in my drink not even touched the glass and I asked for it to be replaced omg is all I can say. The carry on just to get a fresh drink you would think I had drank half or been outside and put the fly in myself. Customer service is a disgrace. I was offered to have the fly taken out and a new glass. Flies land on you know what and you offer a new glass? Hmm what would it be like to have food there. Perhaps the flies are blended in to your burger etc as the are obviously okay by their standards. I did after much debate and a phone call to the owner by the bar staff get a fresh drink after half hour. I spent many a time in this pub over £200. Each time. I wont be again . Never heard anything like that im my life. Worked many pubs in my life, would never serve a drink with a fly or refuse to replace it when the customer hasn't even taken the glass away. Cctv fly in drink, customer not touched!!! Get a grip, won't be back thanks!!!

My wife and I brought our grandson on a little trip down memory lane , as I lived in this pub from 1959 when I was 7 yrs old until I was about 24. I could hardly recognise the place , I know things change but from being your classic country pub full of charm and serving great food at lunch time , this place looks run down , the gents toilets we’re disgusting 🤮. I got my grandson a cheeseburger with chips , the burger was o.k , the chips weren’t cooked properly…yuk. Needless to say we won’t be going back , and I will press the memory recall button of days gone and happy times.

The Wellington is a great place for anyone who wants a nice quiet drink or a lovely pub meal or a great game of pool 🎱 or a Catchup with the days sports, for all you football fans out there. The staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly and always willing to help you with any requirements that you may have. So great experience overall and reasonable prices ££

I went to.a party there the food was bad the bar had hardly and spirts in there the toilets are bad it badley needs decorating if u want food prising

Friendly pub, cheap drinks, lovely Xmas tree and friendly staff. Had mozzarella sticks- crispy and fresh. Good pool table.

Asked the staff what time the kitchen closed! Was told 19:30. Ordered food at 19:10 and money taken, no food by 20:00. Asked when my food was coming, was told the kitchen was closed, I said I ordered before the kitchen closed, staff went to check, staff member came back and shook her head (meaning food wasnt coming). Took 2 more hours to get refunded! Mens toilets half a inch deep (water and/or pee) both hot water taps do not work, hand dryer does not work. It's alright for a quick pint, avoid for food, fun, customer service. Even the locals where saying how bad it has gone and didn't blame me if I didn't come back.

Very friendly people... Kitchen lovely and clean... They were preparing a buffet for a funeral and the food looked fantastic A really nice place to relax... Play pool, throw some darts. Lots of locals in enjoying the sports and drinks.

Ate here on a Sunday lunchtime, opting for the carvery as I thought it'd be quick (I had my 2 children with me). Despite ordering before it got busy, my meal took 45 minutes to prepare. They only brought the kids meal out slightly earlier when I asked. When I enquired after my food the staff were apologetic but I was told 'there were a lot of people eating' (maybe, but I ordered before the vast majority of them) and each carvery 'was made fresh'. When it finally arrived the chichen was tough and unappetising, it could have been taken out of the oven sooner and the veg was hit and miss - some of the carrots and cauliflower were undercooked. Had I been asked, I would have given feedback about this at the time, but noone did, despite our table being cleared. It would have perhaps shown a bit of goodwill to offer us a free round of drinks (we were only drinking soft drinks!) or maybe a dessert, on the house, but nothing like that was forthcoming. Needless to say we didn't bother ordering desserts and won't be eating here again.

Nice pub, food atomsphere, good food

11 of us come and ordered food. The worst food I have ever been served in my life. Ordered loaded fries, raw frozen chips served on blue paper: the cheese then melted and stuck to the paper leaving blue dye on the food. My son refused to eat the chicken nuggets and said they were still frozen in side. Disgusting.

Take their licence away, do they even know about covid, never again. ☹️☹️, gave it a 2nd chance but they failed miserably, still stick to carpet when walking through, surely if you've got pets in these premises you should keep them away from food and drink, basic hygiene.

Was really sceptical about going to a pub (this is my local) in this climate. I shouldn't have worried. All the safety measures were adhered to by staff who were impeccable and efficient. Well done Welly staff 👏

Poor standards, dinghy and in need of a refurb, atmosphere lacking. Bar service was quick and friendly, but food took over an hour and was as poor as the choice on the menu. No communication and topped off by waiting another 15 minutes wait before being told they had none of the desserts for kids that they'd taken the order for, surely it only takes 1 minute to look in the freezer

The Wellington inn has been a local favourite for many years and I have had the pleasure of watching it evolve with the times. Upon todays visit we where greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. All social distancing measures had been put in place to ensure customers safety. Our group ordered starters and a main course each. The food was served promptly and was very well presented. The foods portion size was more than ample and very tasty. We will definitely be eating there again.

Went in to see what it was like, not too good the carpet hasn't been cleaned for a while as you could follow the slug trails across the floor and that put the wife off straight away, food was mediocre nothing to write home about, don't think we'll be going back there again...

Was probably 5 Star when first built, but has been left in the 70s. Wonderful staff an rooms cleaned daily, that's why I think it gets a 3 Star rating.

Fab food great service and insane price on a Monday... Have visited pub few times over last few weeks different days and times, not had a bad meal, compliments to the chef... Mad Monday is £5 a meal... Can also recommend fish Friday... Can upgrade to chippy meal which as well as fish n chips also includes battered sausage gravy and bread & butter all for 6.50, new chef has taken over I would say within last 6 month or so definitely an improvement would definitely recommend a visit :)

Nice food and beer always spot on

Not been for a while, younger generation place. Noticeable broken glass around the area from broken bottles on both sides of prescot road around this pub, Which is not good for people walking dogs in area. Use to be a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday with live groups on in past. I would not use it as my local.

I don't live too far from the Welly but its just far enough away that it's awkward to walk to. However coming back from town we decided to call in today. Drinks are cheap and although we didn't eat the food looked good and was reasonably priced. I will have something to eat next time.

Bar staff taken our drinks without telling us it was last orders and then kicked us out without letting us finish our drink that we paid for. This was all whilst swearing and showing no manners towards customers

Mixed grill.. normally £10.95 is only £5.00 on a monday... I haven't seen anyone finish one so far, they are huge!

came with a family of 10 people sat in the beer garden (the car park). ordered food asked for it all to come out together, as there was three different orders. To much to ask as they all came out at different times, the 1st lot had finished b4 the 2nd lot arrived and so on.Meals wrong and missing took 45mins to get the childrens meals, they were the last to arrive so everyone had finished before the childrens had arrived.On a good note it was cheap for the beer.

Classic local pub. Always seems to be busy. Shows live sport where available, such as football champions league. Not a massive selection of drinks and unsure about food as I've never eaten there/planned to eat so didn't check out if they did food. A bit rough and ready but what more do you want from a local

Just a pub, sells food. Sometimes you get served, sometimes you wait a while. Luck of the draw. Pool tables and some benches outside too. Big screen. Interesting picture wall.

The food is delicious, the menu has a great selection and it is fantastic value for money , the 2 for £10 offer is marvellous

Went here today passing through Widnes, ordered meatball sub hubby ordered the hot one burger. Well what can I say!!!!! Vile is all, meatballs microwaved to the extreme that the went so hard I couldn't cut them. Hubby's burger was also very overcooked and hard to eat. Don't waste you money going here, Macdonalds is better!!!!

Went for a meal on Saturday 5th August the food was terrible they ran out of chicken. If I had not asked the staff were my meal was I think I would still be sat there now waiting for it . The staff were very unhelpful and they need to crack a smile .

Spent some time today at the Wellington and can't stress how dirty the kitchen and toilets are 5 stars no chance think EHO needs a revisit as the kitchen had food from the night before just lay out and the floor in the pub still had bottle caps and chips on it and please don't get me started on the toilets the place is a punch tavern a big group looks like this manager is totally taking the piss please drive passed and go somewhere else
