Shocking system. Order & pay on the screen but then have to queue up for ages for a teabag! Why?

SACK AMY!! or send her back to collage.How in gods name can you mess up scrambled eggs.she can..big clumps off egg yolk and egg whites on the soggy toast..Too bone idle to whisk the eggs.The lady that took my plate agreed with me and said she would have a word.i do hope management read these reviews and in future start employing people with basic cooking skills.wont be going back.14/02/24

Terrible no hot drinks .had to go somewhere else. Not the first time a couple of weeks ago no cups.and machine broken.used to be a good cafe.feel for the staff who are turning customers away all the time.

One tiny coffee machine for all customers to do their own drinks not working properly, staff need to learn customer service skills. We were given paper cups at first I asked if they had proper cups and just got a look of the girl behind the till. Eventually got a proper cup. Ordered hot chocolate and a coffee. Machine, kept freezing , gave out a half measure which I topped up by pressing button again, but it was like coloured water. 2 gentlemen before me took their drinks back for a refund, I told the assistant dealing with them that mine was like water and she just turned and walked away!!! I then asked the young girl in the till if I could change mine to a tea, reply, with a look that totally said she wasn’t bothered, was feta teapot and I’ll give you a teabag, which she did then walked away!! I had to wait to ask her to reimburse me the difference in price for the drinks, again I got a look as if to say Really you want the difference!! Used to live coming here but I will never set foot in this cafe again, it’s dirty and the staff need training on how to deal with customers, there was only one girl that asked if I was being served when o was waiting for my money back.

What's happened, this place used to be great. Visited two Saturday afternoons- both Saturdays the coffee machine was broken, there was no clean cups for tea, had ran out of most cakes, and the hot food is dreadful. Staff appear to have low morale and they do not clean anything such as tables. There was no napkins either. This cafe needs it's old management back .

Visited here with family on recent shopping trip and found the food to be poor, fresh sandwiches was hard/stale, the tables was stacked with cups and needed to be cleaned by myself/other customers prior to use overall was not very pleasant wouldn’t be visiting again

Staff very friendly and obliging. I asked for my breakfast to be reheated in the microwave as it was lukewarm and I like hot food. They did this with a smile. Everything has been stripped back in this store. Vinegar on 1 out of 5 tables. Condiments restricted to salt pepper sugar. I asked if there was any brown sauce for my breakfast and obliging staff brought them from the back. People were asking for cups at times and milk. The cutbacks have stripped this place back to its bare bones. Staff are doing their best and obviously very busy but cups and milk should be plentiful. No mayonnaise, sauces. Salt n pepper in tiny sachets. It's a shame the staff are running this cafe with minimum everything. Customers should not have to ask for cups, milk and condiments. These should be a given, it's not a prison with restrictions for bad behavior. I used to love coming here but the last two times its miminal everything. Such a shame as the food and prices and staff are great.

Service terrible, food hot but hard appears to have been kept warm, all tables dirty no one available to clean the tables or any cloths to do it yourself. No receipt in till reel so wouldn’t provide the ordered and paid for toast !!! Paid for hot chocolate but none available. Won’t be returning here 0/10

Possibly one if the worst cafes in Widnes,very noisy,uncleared dirty sticky tables,indifferent staff,poor selection,low quality food and not as cheap as you think and a long long wait for food,avoid at all costs.

Absolutely awful customer service. People who work there can't be bothers Todo anything. Tables are sticky and the staff can't be bothered to make breakfast without lying saying the had ran out of food which they hadn't.

Advertised as three course Christmas dinner but only one course available. Absolute rubbish. Avoid!

Had almost given up on the cafe as the food is of a poor standard but saw the Christmas menu advertised and thought I would give them another chance and try the xmas two course dinner.More fool me! It was 12:00 mid day, found a table (not cleaned) only to be told no prawn coctail starter today Another £20 quid Morrisons has lost. I give up!

Average food waited long time and shopping with my 79 yrs mum who has hidden disability recovering from a very recent heart attack, got a parking notice £85 r pay up straight away £50.00 didn't even notice limit on parking, but will not be using morrisons again that one lest car they need to worry about so discussed with Morrisons treatment of customers

Food very average and parking charges if over 2 hours, we ended up being over 2 hours after we had eaten and done our shopping. Parking has allways been free so we did not know about the restictions - been going there for over 40 years. Will never use morrisons again the robbing gets.

Currently sitting in Morrison's cafe, Widnes. Oh dear what has happened, there was a time when the cafe was excellent value for money; no longer the case. Bland tasteless food, no garnish with the toastie I ordered, just two slices of toast with a little cheese inbetween. Dont supply onion was the reply when I asked. My friend was served his food with butter that has obviously been left on the grill and leaked all over the table when opened. Certainly will not visit this cafe again.

Has to be one of the worst Morrisons cafes, No problem with the staff, but the place is in serious need of a deep clean. The hot drinks machine is filthy, sticky tables and worn out furniture. Food presentation is non existent. I generally like eating in Morrisons cafes but I’ll be giving the Widnes one a miss.

Been waiting half an hour for a breakfast. If you advertise you open at 7am, then have the courtesy to be up and running .. absolute disgraceful way to treat customers .

Went there today on 5th Jan 22, what an eye saw, avsolute filthy cafe, very very poor staff who i can only imagine must live in squalor themselfs if they consider this cafe clean. Dirty sticky tables, no cleanliness around the coffee machines, no sachets of sugar just loose sugar in a jar. The staff have abysmal attitudes and are no help what so ever. I wouldnt chance eating anything here in these present times, i can honestly say its one of the worst morrisons cafes ive been in and the mangeress who i complained too was arrogant and did not take on board the problems that exsist in this cafe. Shes the one to overlook and make the cafe experiance better i can only assume whoever hired her were desperate to employ someone at the time. I wouldnt advise anyone to eat or even have a drink here, its an utter shambles and a very dirty and poor run cafe.

Coffee is great in this cafe . Chips are to hard in the middle to eat . Not sure where they get the chips from but there not great. Maybe they should try them out them self. And they Would know there not great chips.

2 large fry ups which weren't large a totally vile breakfast for a food chain which charges 60 p a bag you would think they will serve a decent fry

Payed 7.40 for 1 egg 2 sausage and 2 bacon two hash browns ( which wer astonishingly bad ) beans and one slice of toast ..... Daylight robbery

Long wait, food was cold on arrival, toast was missing from breakfast, veggie sausage overcooked, nasty sunflower spread and uht milk.

Breakfast was cold as per normal for Morrison s cafe toast was halve dun breakfast very greasy sausages over cooked

The food was lovely and so were the staff. The issue here was that service was very slow and everything was confused. It wasn't clear whether we were supposed to order on our phones or queue up as normal. Food arrived but drinks didn't come and we were told later on that drinks are self service. The cafe was chronically understaffed for how busy it was and we really felt sorry for the staff who were found their best under the circumstances. It seemed that 2 people were doing everything and the cafe was extremely busy.

I hate giving poor reviews but this place has gone downhill remarkably fast. The food itself is generally pretty good and the staff are lovely, but the main problem is nothing is ever available. From teacakes to lasagne and fish & chips, little is generally available. The unavailability list at the till was twice as long as the menu! No criticism of the staff but their morale seems low. When I asked why products were unavailable when you have a shop-full of them I was told..."sorry sir everything has to be brought in from outside ". Come on Morrisson's Management get a grip and get back to the way you were

Morrison’s Widnes nice store has a lovely presented vegetarian breakfast served by very polite staff given the Covid 19 conditions plenty parking near Widnes centre

Cups were filthy, teapots dirty didnt even get to order walked out to many dirty tables, so imagine what the kitchen is like.

Haven't been to Widnes shopping for years and probably won't again after our experience in the Morrisons café.Waited 3/4 hour for the food to arrive.Fish was overcooked and dry and batter horrid.Wife had a toastie which was over toasted and rock hard.Vile food,would not recommend.Surely they must know or are just blissfully unaware.Won't ever go back!Give it a one star as you can't give a none

The choice of breakfasts are suitable for all size of appetites, from the big daddy to the kiddies portions.

always find that the morrisons cafes are far better than the other supermarket cafes more choice on the menu and the food is cooked fresh widnes morrisons is one the best

Called in here a little after 4 pm, had spent some time in the market. My friend told me it was a good cafe. I was presented with a meal, the beef stew with dumplings. It was abismal, the meat and sauce/gravy was sweet, not my idea of beef stew. But the dumplings was the main problem, they were rock hard on the top, absolutely unable to be cut. I guess this meal had bean plated up an shoved under the heat lamp where it sat for god knows how long. My friend asked me not to make a complaint at the time, but here is my review.

Place going downhill fast, food so greasy not worth the money

Updated 10 months later. Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star. Staff obviously not happy in their work. Waited ages to pay. Paid £1.50 for a black coffee to find 1 coffee machine closed "for cleaning" and the other with no coffee in! Cups still stained. Tables dirty... obviously no improvement since my last visit, in fact I would go as far as saying the cafe has got worse. Called in for coffee with a friend. Trying to find a clean cup was like searching for a needle in a hay stack! Mentioned the fact that all the cups were stained to the lady on the till. She said it was because they're not allowed to bleach them! Don't they wash cups?! Just to add insult to injury, the coffee machine overfills the cup, white foam dripping all down the side of the cup when then sets like marshmallow. I'm not a frequent Morrison cafe customer, but I've just become an ex customer. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

I was absoutley disgusted at the cleanliness... Or lack of it on our recent visit. No toilet roll in any toilet. Just empty rolls all over the floor. Faceces all over each seat of alll 3 females toilet I felt physically sick.

Dirty dishes everywhere not being collected. Place is dirty, slow service. Been coming for years but it's gone down the pan massively in the past few months. Complaints have fell on deaf ears.

Ordering of food not very clear

Whatever time I seem to go in they run out of cups. Never a good selection of sandwiches. Lots of clutter left on tables not cleared away. Staff seem flustered.

Clearing up and staff availability are a lot to be desired. Stupid prices for a hot drink (and sandwiches) and more often than not, there isn't enough cutlery and to get milk is a mission. Whoever puts the cutlery back, doesnt wear any type of gloves so let's hope they've washed their hands and don't have the same standards when wiping down the highchairs.. . Really inadequate seating space for anyone and others that require a wheelchair or pram and it's often a struggle to get out the Cafe, regardless of shopping etc, due to the exit/entrance being directly adjacent to to the tills. Madness.

Its like sitting in a school canteen. The noise is intense and the food isnt fantastic.

Had xmas dinner in M.Sons today.Mash was packet mash.no pigs in blanket yet it was advertised on the board.Turkey was packet turkey,not proper.Plate was pretty empty,not generous with the veg.I asked the waitress if theŕe should have been pigs in blanket on the dinner,she said sh'd ask.She came back with a regular small sausage+two bacon rashers.Whilst that was acceptable,should there have been the pigs in blanket already on the plate and as there wasn't,should the M.Sons staff nit have informed me in the first place.I ate the dinner as i very rarely waste food but but it was not the Xmas dinner i expected and i wish now i'd have just gone the chippy.Very poor lunch and wont get one of them again.I usually enjoy M.Sons food and i usually have the fish and chips but as its coming up to Christmas i thought i'd try there Xmas dinner~bad mistake.I'm quite shocked really as it was well below standard but the most unforgiving thing was the use of packet mash and it definitely was packet mash.It's a joke.I'm not one for criticising M.Sons,i shop there regularly but i just felt i had to put it on trip advisor. On the plus side,they now have a machine where you can place your order and pay for it,it has alleviated the cueues,which were terrible at the M.Sons in Widnes,although i summise that it has cut out a staff member,hence more job cuts as is the thing these with everywhere these days.I hope a Morrisons staff member reads this and gives a reply.RegardsJ.Molyneux

It's ok for a mid-shop pit stop. Can be a long wait for food at times. Not bad prices though!

Decent food for the price you pay. Can wait a while dependent on the amount of customers.

My wife and embarked on a shopping spree in widnes. To top it off we made our usual visit to morrisons cafe. We selected home cooked fish and tea for two. Absolutely lovely up to the usual standard. Friendly people and staff good place to chill for a while between shops.

Its always nice to stop off here for a cuppa , and have a treat cake , theres lots of other things to choose from but when i am shopping i always like this little treat . the staff here are so nice and always make you feel special . well done morrisons .keep up the good work .

This place is often busy, but I don't understand why. Often full of pensioners and Mums with youngsters, making it a very noisy place. The food isn't so good either.
