My third update of my review of this pub. I really like this pub and have used it for years. The current team seems OK, although keeping the gents toilet smelling sweet seems to be beyond them. The music was loud in the bottom bar, so the dozen people in there were shouting at each other. The manager wouldn't turn it down and only a quieter track enabled conversation.

Good food and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere.

Quaint, rustic and Village style pub with a good selection of beers. Bar and food is self-service. Only fact which wasn't appreciated was that we were never told food is ready, we kept waiting and just picked up guessing it's ours

Clean, lovely decor and the food is good (apart from the mushy peas which looked like it was left out for days then microwaved)

Great food with an amazing atmosphere. My partner can't have garlic and they were very accommodating in giving us regluar mash instead, very impressed ☺️ This is the first pub I've visited in England and it was surely a good choice!

Always very nice here, there are bands on some nights, and beautiful dogs. Staff always helpful and friendly

During the day is rather quiet, but has good beer and drinks selection.

Just really happy to see the old pub back up and running successfully. It's great to see that they have access to a garden in the summer too. I like the fact that it's still dog friendly and has a cosy area by the fire with board games along with plenty of seating throughout the rest of the pub.

Lovely pub. Attended for a wedding. Great atmosphere friendly and helpful staff. Normal menu looked extensive with local produce used - would come here for Sunday lunch!

The place is like Home!! I really enjoy every time i visit that with my friend! Such a nice and cozy pub!

We ordered red wine and got some watery, red liquid instead. Went back to the back to return it but the lady behind the bar said “this is what you ordered so we can’t take it back” I argued that we didn’t know the taste of it before ordering and came back after taking literally a sip. She said she didn’t make us buy it, so she won’t refund it or change it to something else. What happened to customer service/satisfaction?

We didn't have food here but just a beer.

Well stocked bar, great selection of beers on-tap and in bottles, and a winning Sunday roast. Great after a walk in the park (Or graveyard!) Will be back.

Staying nearby , popped in on my way back from shopping for 1/2 lager and lime as it was a hot night . Looked at menu and decided to have a bite to eat . Young guy behind the bar said if I didn't want too much to eat they had toasted sandwiches. Decided to have the toasted Ham & cheese sandwich with side salad and fries. There's different eating areas . I sat through to the right where there was a sofa and small tables and chairs.

Visited on a very quiet night. Lovely, friendly staff and a good range of beer.

Always a nice atmosphere, a decent selection of zero % beers. Food seems to have improved over the last year. Just a shame there’s no dog racing.

I had a 10 people booking for a Saturday afternoon, at some point they refused to serve us drinks, not only that they called all the other clubs in the area not to let us in, because apparently we were too loud,

Superb food, Youngs Beer, friendly service but canned music intrusive and inappropriate for the kind of place it sets out to be. I love the Beatles but not at the high rate of decibels foisted upon us. "If music be the food of love..." play classical music... to misquote Shakespeare

Popped in for what was supposed to be a mushroom and truffle pizza. No truffle or truffle oil and the mushrooms were from a tin. Also I got mega heartburn 20 mins after eating this ... swerve Came back for a drink in the evening with my partner, we were made to feel unwelcome. We had a couple of drinks, so a little tipsy but no where near drunk. I asked for another drink only to be refused by a very rude bar tender, even though there were a bunch of lads outside who were very drunk and obviously local. Won't be returning 👎 Shame, as the atmosphere looked ok

Popped in for a quick half of bitter whilst my better half was at the Hendon Hospital. 10 minute walk. Pity that the beer garden was closed, only open at weekends.

I had delicious Peperoni pizza at this pub. The manager was very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely warm welcome. Decent roast and a very quaint chilled vibe which is lacking in most pubs close by.

Highly recommended. We had a wonderful Sunday Roast at The Greyhound today. Service was excellent and the chicken roast with all the trimmings was one of the best I've ever had. There was even dinner for the dog! We're so impressed with the new management. Thank you! (We'll be back to try the Stonebaked pizzas and burgers...)

Best beyond meat burger I’ve had, hats off to chef. Front of house also very helpful.

The greyhound in hendon is a fantastic pub the staff are kind and friendly and the food is great 👍

Can never be certain if food is being served. Difficult to order a drink as the bar area is taken up by people sitting on stalls. Bar staff also seem to be inexperienced.

After a wonderful Easter service at St Mary’s Hendon we went into The Greyhound (whose freehold belongs to the church). The pub was empty. We were welcomed by “we’re only serving drinks! (I think to myself what else is a pub there for)? No good morning! No greeting! We bought our drinks & went into what used to be the snug & sat around a small table to enjoy our drinks. No sooner sat down a busy looking a red haired lady with a mobile phoned attached to her face (assistant mgr) instructed us that the table was booked for diners at 3pm & she had to lay the tables. I said we would only be there for 30 mins. She insisted we find somewhere else to sit. There were only very heavy high chairs & high tables remaining. We’re all over 60 yrs old & the high chairs were very uncomfortable. When then went out side to finish our drinks & returned the glasses. Incidentally we saw the small table we had first sat on; it had only 2 settings & was still unoccupied. I asked the bartender why we couldn’t have sat there as it shouldn’t have been any trouble. The bartender & a rude redhead woman became arrogantly & rudely defensive, turning a simple complaint into a ‘blown up diplomatic incident’. They then told us if we didn’t like it “don’t come back again”! I’m a local & I’ve used this pub for over 40 yrs. For that reason I found the remark particularly offensive, unnecessary, & could easily have been avoided & it was handled very badly on their side. The female member of staff was particularly rude with attitude. No wonder The Greyhound is a struggling pub with regulars migrating to the local Gladdach Ring on Church Road nearby where they’re more than welcome. There they really know what hospitality is about & better still know how to run a pub properly.

Lovely staff. Really friendly and welcoming, I have popped into this lovely pub after a long walk to wait for my partner, so sit alone for a little while. The staff are just wonderful. Dog friendly too. The Sunday roasts looked amazing!

Not a bad place, one of the closest pubs to StoneX stadium.

A nice atmosphere inside quite a friendly place. One of the few pubs with a working open fire. Food served during the day. Sunday lunch is a must. Very filling, not bad value for amount you are served. A nice selection of spirits & wines. Parking right outside the door.

Authentic place to enjoy a good beer and the food was delicious. Wonderful hospitality from the bar staff. And coffee and cake if you want.

I love this pub and was so pleased it survived COVID albeit with new, independent management. Excellent range of real ale mostly sourced locally. Very friendly staff and clientele. The food is good too, and not overly expensive. Highly recommended!

Excellent pub located in Hendon near Middlesex University. Great and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very polite and friendly. Pints were poured great, also looks like they have some cocktails on offer. Discounts for local uni students too. Definitely worth a visit and above par compared to other pubs in the area... Had small wedding reception here last week. Buffet was amazing plenty to go round . Arri (sorry if spelt wrong) was wonderful very accommodating and friendly. Thankyou very much was a lovely day in lovely surroundings. Xx

Sits in ancient hill along side ancient church ,listed in the doomsday book .. a lot of history and it's pleasant pub with nice range of drinks and good staff .. it's worth a visit

Very clean and friendly but i paid £11 for a burger with no chips and it was dry and overcooked. My friend got the fish and chips, the chips were undercooked

Sadly not as I remembered it. Very clean, very friendly staff, but little to make me feel at home (if that's the correct phrase). Maybe because I resist change, that's a failing of mine and I appreciate that, but a visit to another hostelry the previous night was totally different. Something is missing, and I wish I could offer constructive advice. On the plus side, a good selection of cask ales, a little expensive but times are hard. Food looks good too, but we weren't there for that. It's good that it still survives, and with a bit more application to the 'theme' I'd happily stay longer. The real fire was good! Good luck....

Good range of drinks and nice atmosphere

Great to see this historic pub has just re-opened when so much of the surrounding area is being ruined with huge, ugly, modern developments. This tiny area of Hendon is like a piece of a quaint English village has been transported into a London suburb. They've done a really good job on the refurb - except for one thing. The've not updated the lighting which is too bright and negatively impacts the ambience. More atmospheric lighting would turn this pub into a proper classic. Otherwise, highly recommended!

The pub itself is lovely refurbished. However, we went today, Sunday at 1pm and they refused to serve us the lunch menu as they said we had to order from the brunch menu?! Which was basically an old school breakfast menu like full English breakfast or breakfast burrito which I honestly thought it was ridiculous! When I said we were leaving and that they lost a client, the manager rudely replied “I am not on commission anyway” . We went to the Claddagh instead and we were served so much better and the pub was full clearly showing why the other one was empty!

Love this pub. Decor looking good ,more modern since reopening. Basic looking menu ,typical pub grub. But it was chilly I thought ,has a real fire in one part but not lit.....if not in January ,then when ??Turn IP the heating a bit.

Good to see this classic multi roomed pub Reopened. Three cask beers on.

This has recently reopened and is lovely. It's super clean, particularly the toilets and not a sticky table in sight. It has a massive fire place and big sofas. There's lots of seating at the bar too. They serve classic English food and have vegan and veggie options. Lots of sandwiches, salads, burgers and a children's menu. Parking out front for 10 cars maybe.

Great pub. They have recently reopened under new management and are now a free house. Food menus have changed as well. Went for brunch and it was very nice. They've done it up inside and I'm glad they didn't change too much. It still has the historic pub feel like it used to. This pub is part of Hendon's history and it would be a real shame to lose that. They need to update the opening hours on Google maps though. They're not accurate right now.

Food was good, coffee good did not try beer as too early in day, had a reasonable choice 'tho.

This pub is cosy and old skool but if they had a better beer and cocktail selection this would be the most happening place in the area.

Haven't been here for a long time, circumstance (a funeral) brought me back and I'm glad I did. Food looks brilliant, but nature of visit meant buffet was already prepared, and was really fresh and well prepared. Good selection of beers, and food on offer is definitely tempting me back on a happier occasion to try. soda and Lime was the correct proportion too!

Had a lovely meal here. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended!

Alright, beer tasted of line cleaner and wasn't exchanged, so left...

Very quiet, was three blokes there at 2pm on Saturday had the £5 special which was sausages, mash and peas which was ok, what you'd expect for that price. Place was freezing which was my main gripe, they could have fired up the fireplace

Nice local pub, had a couple of pints there after the Saracens game. No complaints.
