The Greenwich Pensioner in Tower Hamlets

Great afternoon at the Greenwich pensioner. Ayush was incredible at his job and made us feel very welcome! The roast was delicious (gave us a free mini roast to try!) and they had a great selection of drinks. Would recommend this place to anyone

We brought a group of 12 from the International Wine and Food Society. The chef Gemma did an excellent job and did very well to serve such a large group from a very small kitchen. We had a lobster cocktail to start, then a hazelnut-crusted lamb chop, which was excellent, and poached pears in Marsala wine to follow. Finally, some divine home-made chocolates with coffee. The service was friendly and we were very well looked after.

Do not get food here, I don’t know how anyone could possibly source a worse cut of beef, if it is beef. Yep it’s that bad.

Great Sunday lunch, excellent service, bright, fresh East End pub .., close to DLR stop of All Saints and 10 minute walk to Canary Wharf… highly recommended

Stayed for one night. Room was clean, staff were friendly. Would have been a perfect stay apart from no tea/coffee , although there was a microwave and fridge.

Looks like a lot of time and effort has been invested in the bar area. Hopefully, the rooms will follow. Despite being next to a bus route, I slept well. Recommended? Not really. Would stay again at a push.

visited the pub in may for drinks but ended up eating also, cannot fault the fish n chips we had, dissappointed to pop in again and the chef is no longer there. But enjoyed our first experience here anyway nice staff and atmosphere.

Lovely pub but the website needs updating, bit depressing and dingy but has great potential! Website needs to be modernised!

Stunning inside; very impressive refurb!! Scallops starter and fish & chips were delicious! Also highly recommend the dessert, Bombolini, freshly made custard doughnuts..

An aesthetically pleasing place, a nice place to chill with your mates also a very comfortable environment if you want to chill solo, great customer service and I would definitely recommend ! Benita

The building is being renovated so it smells of damp plaster. The upstairs is shabby and in need of some tlc. The single bed I had collapsed during the night so I was forced to sleep on the mattress on the floor. The walls are paper thin so I heard the gentleman next door who was snoring. On the plus side the shower was hot.

Had been staying at a hotel locally and came across this lovely pub. Very friendly bar staff. Good selection of real ales and as a Sunday decided to have the roast. Good choice as absolutely delicious. Set us up for the day! A must if you are nearby.

Called in with a few work colleagues for beer an pizza evening. Service was excellent and the food great - good range of beers. Proper old London pub. We need to look after and protect these places

Beautifully restored Victorian pub with six rotating craft beer lines and three craft lagers. Amazing Italian style pizzas and live sport.

Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s closed because of the scaffolding! This gem of a pub is still open. Faultless pizza, cute beer garden, cracking playlist and friendly people (Serkan the bartender great!)

Great beer selection; lovely barmaid; solid pizza. Pleasant surprise. I’d go back for more. Try the pepperoni pizza.

This is a great pub to go to for a drink, a pizza and to watch the football. The bar staff are friendly and remember you.

What a delight to stumble across this recently opened family run pub. Real Ale fans and those looking for a taste of what a local pub used to be but with modern sophistication should enjoy this place. Well done and good luck.

5* service 5* atmosphere friendly bar staff and great night out 🥂 night out with family and friends and was a laugh all in all.

Really friendly, helpful staff, fine pint of Guinness, good value tasty burger, only down side is its a bit clinical, could do with a sofa and comfy chairs, otherwise excellent
