Went in was greeted with a member of staff pointing out menus and informing us of ordering procedure. Very pleased with Covid procedures in place. Enjoyed our meal service was great very happy.

Fui a este pub hoy para tomar una copa y un postre con amigos y encontré la única mesa disponible afuera que tenía platos sucios. Entré para pedir bebidas, etc. y le preguntó al chico de la caja si podía conseguir que alguien desinfectara la mesa y moviera los platos, a lo que respondió con ligereza que estaban ocupados y que no podían prometer nada. Luego me preguntó y dijo que probablemente otras mesas "limpias" son gratuitas en lo que le expliqué que no lo estaban y que también mi amigo tiene un bebé y un cochecito y, de todos modos, solo hay mesas adecuadas limitadas. Y si hubiera mesas limpias gratis, ¿no pensó que nos sentaríamos allí? ! ¿Como si no hubiera pensado en eso? ! Mi amiga embarazada también fue al baño y dijo que no se veía limpia. Lo siento, pero estamos viviendo en un bloqueo parcial en Manchester, los pubs, etc. pueden abrir porque están siguiendo las normas de salud y seguridad y deberían estar calientes en eso durante este tiempo. ¡Decidí tomar el desinfectante yo mismo y limpiar la mesa! Tbf encantadora camarera se acercó y se disculpó y fue agradable. Pero creo que debe ser responsable ante sus clientes y su personal. Aprecio para el personal del pub / restaurante que es un momento realmente difícil y desafiante, pero realmente necesito asegurarme de que los lugares también estén limpios.

I visited here last week after work with a few mates. After the intention for going for ‘one’ we ended up staying for the evening! I ordered some grub to soak up sinking a few ales and I must say I was impressed it was better than you think not standard pub food. I had a burger which they gave you the option to double up where you can get chicken and beef which I went for and glad I did. They have a large outside heated area with the option to eat outside which was handy as fellow colleagues are smokers. I was also impressed with the beer knowledge of the female manager (didn’t catch a name; blonde ponytail?) tending the bar on this evening, not your usual serve a pint and move on she allowed us to taste some of the cask and which we have never had before which was great. Will return and make a local stop after work in the near future, a thumbs up from us!

Been several times always a great experience. Lovely staff especially Jade who I think is the manageress. Good food at reasonable prices as are the drinks. Play area for kids not fantastic but adequate. Fantastic location too easy to reach by a fantastic choice of buses or the tram

I live locally and have been in this pub many times therefore I would like to think that I have a balanced viewpoint on this pub, not just a one-off experience. Quite simply this pub is very poor. Poor, slow service with an often abandoned bar. Cheap nasty food, orders often wrong. Dirty glasses and pots everywhere inside and out. It has been like this every time I've been in. It is a real shame as the outdoor area could be great but it is poorly maintained just like the inside. With a new owner and management this pub could flourish as it is in a good location and has lots of potential which is currently being squandered with poor staff and even worse management.

We visited the Greenfinch to celebrate a birthday the staff were brilliant the area they set aside was excellent plenty of space for the little ones to run around safely but enough space for the adults to sit and chat. The buffet was lovely with plenty for everyone and replenished to keep everyone fed. The interior was clean and bright with ample parking. A very nice pub with very friendly attentive staff.

Another visit to The Greenfinch another excellent experience, it never fails to impress. Reasonable prices, ample parking if you are driving, bus stop and tram stop literally across the road if you are coming by public transport. And the only thing better than the food is the service. Super friendly, very efficient and a special mention to Jade who always goes the extra mile to help. Keep up the good work, look forward to going again soon.

We visit here often but this weekend was particularly good,due to the southener guy working there.when my toddler spilt her drink everywhere,including on her food!he was behind me in a flash helping me clear up the mess.noticing her ruined food,he returned moments later with a free bowl of chips for her.in all the commotion she lost her favourite doll,and the same guy saved the day again,after keeping it safely behind the bar for her.food and service always good here but this guy is a real asset to the team as nothing was too much trouble for him.

Regular in this pub normally great today only one bar staff running round like a lunatic doing bar and food also only one in the kitchen absolutely disgraceful one member of staff phoned in sick and couldn't organise cover leaving two people to do everything absolute nightmare management should be sacked.

Fui al Greenfinch el 2 de enero de 2020 con mi mamá y mi papá para almorzar. Mi padre es celíaco y había visto en línea que el Greenfinch atiende a personas con todo tipo de alergias. Excelente. No nos decepcionó. El lugar es limpio y espacioso, el ambiente era relajado, el personal era de lo más agradable y servicial, y la comida no me decepcionó. Todos estuvimos de acuerdo en que definitivamente le haremos una visita de regreso a Greenfinch pronto. Recomendado.

Shame I can't give half a star. Three of us have just had food here today. 2 starters came out straight away and one came out 5 minutes or so later. My son's pizza for his main was then sat on the hotplate for 5 minutes on it's own. I enquired about this and the fact it had tomatoes on (not the pepperoni we had paid extra for) and the girl admitted it had been made too soon .She offered to re-do it this time with the correct topping. He got his pizza and after 15 minutes, I asked where the other 2 mains were. I was told they were just being platedA further 5 mins later they came out, my son had finished his meal!. The corn tasted like it had been boiled in brine, there was no coleslaw with the ribs as advertised,the side of onions were so overcooked they were dry( I have never had a dry onion ring, soggy yes, but not dry)I asked what the delay was and the server informed me she was on her own. I told her I wasn't happy and she said she would speak to the manager. We waited but no manager and no apology. Oh and by the way, we didn't order diet pepsi, just regular and we got diet which I don't like so I spent another £2.50 or so on a fresh orange!.Apalling service and food !

Fuimos a cenar y nos pareció muy acogedor, con agradables rincones tranquilos y un excelente menú. Encontramos grandes amargos pero nos conformamos con el magnífico Lancaster Bomber. Dos deliciosos y crujientes pollo rebozado con frijoles y papas fritas en una deliciosa salsa cremosa. 2 pintas 2 comidas menos de 20 Gran valor.

Called in here for a couple of pints last week after work. A nice big pub, with a great menu. I was only here to catch up with a mate but I will go back and eat food. I only work around the corner.

All over poor - dirty tables , sticky menus. Staff who don’t seem like they want to be there . As for the Sunday dinner how can it be so wrong . Beef well it was meant to be the 1 slice that was served - uncutable and tough . If you advertise and promote food at least buy a decent joint and train the person cooking how to cook . Use to be a nice place here . As for the outside area please clean all the cigarettes off the floor it would really make a difference.

Los dos miembros del personal, Lottie y Jamie, fueron tan acogedores y serviciales que fue un gran final para un día estresante. La comida también era genial! Volveremos pronto 5 estrellas! ! ! !

Needed somewhere for a quick bite after dropping daughter at Uni. Meal came after an hour ( advised at booking45 mins) Food ok - steak n ale pie best choice.

Nice choice of meals, good prices, little play area for kids. Only fault was long queues waiting to order food at the bar.

Our experience was just ok. Tables sticky and wasnt cleaned when we sat down. The food was ok. Its cheap and cheerful. I didn’t enjoy my beef Roast at all unfortunately. Meat was hard and everything just looked a bit grey and was tasteless. Roast potatoes look more like potato croquettes?! However the others i was with thought their meals were ok. For the price, its average pub food. Its was ok overall i think its better for burgers and pizzas than roasts.

I held a wake for my daughter here yesterday. It was for about 40 people. The food was excellent, generous portions. The bar service was quick and the room allocated and the outside area were more than adequate for the amount of people. I would use them again as we were made feel at ease on such a distressing day.

This pub now has a pizza promotion on Fridays, and pretty good they are too!. Quite a selection, and even a few for the veggies. All at £5 each on Fridays. It appears that Marstons have invested in some expensive proper pizza ovens. I would rather have it on a plate than a slate, but they are just trying to be trendy.

Pagamos solo 34 por cuatro comidas y cuatro bebidas, todas muy agradables. Sin duda volveremos cuando en la zona de nuevo.

This pub when dave was here was great. Now to busy and never. Never enough staff. And most staff. When dave here have gone. Only jade left.. We back to red lion. Now she has gone. And better...why don't u pay for extra staff. Waiting 15 mins in a queue is a joke.. We won't be going again. After 5 weeks ago. Jade had to serve 4 drunks. No back up.

Lovely staff, lovely manager, kid friendly so can relax and the mix grill is awesome staff truely look after you highly recommended!!!

Okay so I was impressed with the pub which was stunning and the style of furniture was fun and interesting!

Came after my sisters funeral! We catered for fifty people! At £5 a head which was a selection of sandwiches potato skins dips salad ! No salad 3 bowls of potato skins enough for about 6 people! Pizza cheese on sandwiches or some cheese I couldn’t recognise! Ham sandwich’s with what looked like hacked up left over gammon ! All brought out on oven trays !not even covered in foil !i heard people at t the bar complaining! So many people came up to me saying it was a disgrace! I was so embarrassed and upset !

Wow just had a fantastic dinner with the family ..kids all happy outside playing thought the staff where brill and the young manger was fantastic correcting the right ice cream definitely recommend and will be returning soon thankyou for a good monday

This is the second time I have been here and the result wAs the same both times. Easter Sunday and a beautiful day. So few staff that the queues are beyond quantifiable, causing misery to both customers and overworked staff. Won’t be getting a third visit from me.

Called in for lunch today and had a lovely burger served by friendly courteous staff I would definitely Recommend and will be going back soon 👍🏼

Went for Sunday lunch extremely busy , all tables inside were empty marked as reserved so had to find a table outside - very long lengthy queue at the bar to order food .

Called in today for a meal. Lovely bar staff and Daniela went out of her way to accomadate us. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the lager was very fresh tasting. We will be calling again.

We visited for a small family meal on my birthday. Even though it was very busy the staff were brillaint and provided exceptional service. The menu had plenty of choice and we all enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming.

After an unrated, but very good Friday evening visit in January (a two for one drinks offer made the memory hazy) I went with a business colleague for lunch on a Tuesday. My friend went for the pizza deal, but I had the rump steak so I could have another black forest sundae. The pizza and steak were good, and the beer back on form, but alas they have stopped doing the black forest sundae. After a bit of negotiating I got a small mint sundae (for 50p extra), which was also very good.

Great pub with great service.A good set menu at good prices.Had my daughter 21st party here and the service was 2nd to none plus the Dj they provide was second to none.The best pub for miles around.

Can't rate this pub enough. I used to have several pubs to visit. Now it's mainly the greenfinch. Adam the manager is friendly and down to earth. The staff are friendly and polite, especially jade. The food is amazing. Big portion sizes and never a bad meal. The loyalty cards for the real ale is a bonus.. Try this pub, you won't be sorry...

He estado en el Greenfinch varias veces y cada vez ha sido excelente. Buena comida, incluso mejor bebida y el personal más amable de la zona. El gerente del bar que nos atendió, Adam, no pudo hacernos sentir más bienvenidos e imploro a cualquiera que vaya cerca, ya que no te arrepentirás. Siempre es acogedor, atmosférico y sobre todo un buen momento.

¡Qué gran menú vegano! Hemos probado algunas cosas ahora y nos ha encantado todo, en especial la pizza con 12 hamburguesas y verduras. Gran variedad de postres también. ¡Gracias!

I totally enjoyed my visit to this pub on Saturday. Really good food and drinks... The staff were lovely and very helpful.. Great value for money.. I will definitely give this place another visit

We came here as a party of 10 (6 children, 4 adults) called the week before to book and was offered a table in the children's section. Having never been before i found it excellent. Took a cake and ballons in the morning and when we arrived the table was decorated lovely. Food is excellent and great value for money, staff are very friendly, the kids section is a fantastic addition. The outside is also great for the children and i imagine it to be beautiful in the summer. Staff including the manager couldn't do enough to make sure we all had a nice time. Will definitely visit again.

Nice homely pub, where the majority of the staff are nice and welcoming apart from a new manager that walks around in there now thinking he’s the dogs bollocks and looks like he’s on steroids far too full of himself and looks people up and down which is a bit uncomfortable when all you want is a bit of food and a drink apart from this great atmosphere.

Good little pub feed this afternoon. Super impressed that The Greenfinch pub has an actual vegan menu as well as vegan options on their main menu, for example the option of vegan cheese instead of regular cheese and lots of jackfruit.

Been 3 times. Since Adam taken over... Big improvement. Meals at 11.30ish (instead of waiting to 12 noon). The loyalty card is a plus for the ale but maybe get the bar staff to promote these more. Food was great and a good quality.

Had such a lovely family meal here, wheelchair access for grandma, area for kids to play both inside and out, great selection of beers and food, food was very good and new management very welcoming! Looking forward to our next visit

Took my nana and son for lunch here today and can see a massive improvement from previous experiences. Food came quickly and was lovely. The staff were great and the new manager was lovely and friendly, made an effort to stop and chat and brought over some ice cream for my little boy. Will definitely be back :)

We haven’t been here for a while as the food had gone really down hill. However we heard it was under new management so thought we would give it a try and we weren’t disappointed.

We went here as a family and had a really lovely meal. I had steak and my daughter had the tacos. Both meals were fabulous and we would definitely have both again.

the food is amazing and I would recommend to anyone the pub is clean and the staff are great especially charlotte the assistant manager she gives great customer service and helped me with everything I needed.

We regularly reserve a table for our family get togethers and love the place. The quality of the food dipped earlier this year but since the change of management the food is excellent again. We met the new Manager today who was very welcoming and made us feel right at home despite the noise and mess we made!

We had the Sunday roast which was lovely and the bar staff were polite and all orders were speedy!!!

Our families visited The Greenfinch for our family get together which was pre booked We all had a great time. Food was good and staff very friendly. And even let us rearrange the tables to suit our families so we could play our annual Christmas quiz.

Visited today with family and had burgers and followed with desserts. Food was delicious, nothing to fault. Service was quick and all members of staff were very helpful and approachable.

Was expecting bog standard pub grub, but got sloppy processed food! Ordered Christmas nut roast, had a few bites and had to stop as was starting to feel sick! I’m not sure why the nut roast was sloppy but it was putrid, the veg was canned and cold! Had chocolate tart for dessert which was nice.

Llevamos a nuestros muchachos a tomar un té, ya que había una zona de juegos al costado, donde las plantas necesitaban recortar un poco, ya que no se puede ver lo que sus hijos están haciendo. Ahora la comida, 3 de nosotros tenía hamburguesas y omg podría haber puesto la ventana de alguien con eso. Estaba tan seco y quemado que ni siquiera podía masticarlo. No fue nada agradable. Mi hijo es un gran fanático de las hamburguesas y ni siquiera lo tocó. El comienzo fue bueno, tuvimos los nachos de pollo. No regresaré lo siento

Good prices, good food, place looks good and I can't fault the service. We will be going again coz the menu looked great and comparable to TGI's in places without the ridiculous prices

we were a group of 18 who prebooked and were all sat together.i had a burger meal which was a beefsteak burger and tasted really nice,even better value as when ordering at the bar the lady asked what drink did i want i said already had one she said i could have a choice of beer,wine or juice as it was wednesday it was on offer with free drink what a result so got a pint of lager but other beers on offer great deal.it has easy parking and a lot of people were drinking outside and saw food going outside to some.will go again.

The Greenfinch has a large car park and it was easy to park. We found a table and went to order. It was Pizza night on a Tuesday so we all had pizza and the free drink that accompanied it. All three of us were delighted with the food and I was even more delighted to find that they did a gluten free one. I shall definitely return to choose something else off their gluten free menu. The bill for three of us only came to £25.76 which we thought was really good value considering the location of the restaurant. Service was excellent.

Food was nice - standard pub grub. But we went there for the football and the pub was faaaaaarrr too hot. The TVs were in the hottest part of the pub. There is no air conditioning, not even any windows that open. They didn’t bring in any portable fans to help. People waving menus to try and stay vaguely an ok temperature.

Rather tired interior but large garden and larger still menu of fast food which came out quickly and was average in every way

Me había ido de aquí por un par de años. Entonces la última vez que fui y encontré un menú nuevo. La comida es muy impresionante con buenos precios. Igualmente delicioso. Sin embargo, conseguir su llena vasos rellenables puede tardar años tienes que volver a hacer cola. Quizás deberían tener un área separada para rellenar su coca-cola en vez de la cola general, porque en el momento en que me volví a mi mesa la comida estaba fría. Aparte de eso, gran lugar.

Went to the Greenfinch 3 weeks ago for a Sunday roast with 2 family members, for £8 + it was hugely disappointing. Miniature roast potatoes, 3 wafer thin slices of chewy beef , one large doughy tasting soggy Yorkshire pudding and some processed veg, it was probably the worst Sunday roast I've ever had with no taste and no mash with hardly anything on the plate. We saw other customers looking at their roasts with disdain so it wasn't just us.

Hermosa noche de domingo. Pedí un duplicado filete hamburguesa Yankee y una carne de pecho smokearama pizza. La comida era rápida, eficiente y dio en el clavo. Era un poco pedigrí pero Wainwright bobbins era excelente y 3 libras. 20 una pinta.

During a lunch time visit we noticed that this pub had a two steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 deal on Thursday evening, so we decided to try it since it is only £1.50p more than the local Wetherspoons (and that price is not on their menu) and includes a bigger rump steak and some onion rings etc. that the JDW deal doesn't.

Returned here with a business colleague for lunch. I had steak again, and again very good. My veggie friend was impressed with his choice. As we were more pushed for time and the starter and desserts are separately [and higher] priced, we only had two courses. Still very good value and beer in great condition.

Ate here several times and never had any problems . Visited Saturday lunch time . Tables sticky and not cleaned properly . Bits of food still on them. Food was average . No one came to check if our food was ok it wasn't - there was something missing - but could not be bothered having to go to the bar as there was a queue . It was like going to a weatherspoons yesterday. Shame as previous visits been nice .

We visit the Greenfinch every few months as a family meeting point as there is quite a few of us and it’s situated in the middle of us all. We love the family atmosphere the pub offers, we were surprised on our recent visit to find they had changed there menu. After looking through I must say I was very impressed with the introduction of the tacos and the pasta options (don’t tent to get pasta options on ‘pub grub’) the Tacos were so good. Also must mention the Gin Selection is unreal and after talking to the lovely bar staff I was told that the ‘Gin-cupboard’ will be expended...great news. A must visit and a must have drink ‘Rhubarb and Ginger gin with Mediterranean tonic

Visited with my grand daughters and I have to say what a let down it was. The girls ordered from the children's menu, and I ordered a plain burger with no bun. The chicken dippers and fries were what you expect but the corn on the cob it came with was tired and tasteless, the Veg and tomato pasta, with at least 10 hidden vegetables was slightly warm, very thin sauce hardly any cheese and the vegetables were no where to be seen. Even she was very disappointed. As for my burger, what a waste of time. It was just a burger with the thinnest slice of cheese on the top , a couple of pieces of tomato and a crappy, old piece of lettuce underneath. The 'slaw' was served in a plastic broken tub and the whole thing was served in what can only be described as a broken, bent, burnt and 'needed to be in the rubbish bin' basket.Also there are no sugar free drinks available unless you want diet pepsi, and as one of my grand daughters is diabetic it didnt give her much choice. You dont expect five star food and service from a big chain but you do expect a decent meal thats hot and well presented and staff who take abit of interest. I will never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Went for my mums 80th with family. 15 of us in total and 8 kids the food was brilliant came within 30 mins even with such a big order. The burgers looked amazing and the chicken combo was wonderful. Staff were really friendly and even had an allergy folder ready for us when we arrived because one of the party had food allergies. Great play area for the kids with interactive screens which was a bonus.

The first time I ate here was last autumn with a friend and returned a few weeks later with my daughter. Both times I had the steak from the light bites menu priced at £4.99. Came again last month with the same friend and we both chose from the grilled menu the chicken breast with a buttermilk ranch sauce with crispy onions, there were other toppings you can have by the way. Our other friend had the fish and chips from the light bite menu. It was delicious.

went for my birthday..food was ok and some of the staff friendly..but when I went to the bar the barman of mixed race was about to serve me then when he noticed his mates come in to the pub he left me and served them,,i thought that's very ignorant ,,landlord needs to teach him manners

We reserved a table for 12 of us, we are glad we did as it was very busy with walk ins, they were turning people away. We all really enjoyed the food, it was very tasty and piping hot. Those of us who’s dishes came with “slaw” found it very dry and I personally found it a bit bland, others didn’t pass comment about it been bland. It’s not fine dining but one of the nicest pub lunches I have had in Manchester. The bar is bright and airy and nicely decorated with friendly staff. It certainly was good value for money, I would return again.

Hicimos amigos de visita a West Didsbury en el tranvía esperando deambular por las tiendas y luego quizás una cena temprano. Sin embargo, la lluvia era tan mala que se refugió en el Greenfinch para una bebida y terminamos teniendo un almuerzo tardío. Es un pub agradable, no tan agitada como el Metropolitan en la carretera, pero esto significaba que pudimos conseguir una mesa y un excelente servicio.

25 family & friends met for a meal to celebrate a 21st birthday. The staff were brilliant in sorting tables for us all to sit together in the conservatory. Food was really good all starters and mains came out together, tasty and hot when served. Really good evening. Thanks to all the staff who made it a such a great afternoon/evening.

A year or two since my last visit, the pub has been refurb'ed yet again. Some of it is a little garish (like the giant armchair outside), however the overall result is OK.It was raining heavily or we might have sat outside in the large beer garden. Instead we sat in the conservatory. On arrival ~18:30 the pub was pretty busy with families enjoying Sunday lunch, but this quickly thinned out and we easily found a table for six of us to sit round comfortably. A small range of [owner] Marston's real ales were in good condition and reasonable when the 10% Camra discount was included. OTOH a gin and tonic was very expensive, with a tiny bottle of tonic charged in at £1.80p - more than twice the price [per pint] of the beer!Not a pub I would avoid, but equally, not one I would go out of my way for.

This pub/restaurant was very busy, great outside areas for the girls to play, service was slow and they forgot my wife's lunch, i finished eating before my wife's meal arrived, food OK but nothing to shout about, however great value for what you get, The service i think was an off day, overall i would go back to try again.

Dave and his team made my guests and I feel very welcome and well looked after when I held my 40th birthday celebration in the function room and garden. My guests enjoyed the pizza buffet and the good beer range. Thank you for ensuring everything ran smoothly.

What a great night with family very friendly staff Zoe the waitress we had was so helpful and friendly Meal was really nice The little play area made it great as kids were playing and not running around The ice cream bar the kids really loved they enjoyed picking there own ice cream and toppings Definitely will return Great outdoor area as well

I booked the Greenfinch for 15 people two weeks before our required date, I advised this was a private works meal and was advised by staff that table service was available.When arriving all seemed ok, nice table next to open doors leading to the beer garden.When we were ready to order we were told we had to order separate and at the bar.After the 3rd order they ran out of pizza's and dough, the food arrived and was shocking, the chicken was dry the beans dried out all meat very dry very small portions, only nice thing was the 3 pizzas we got.Meal was brought in dribs and drabs, complained about the cold chicken breast they you couldn't swallow was told that's how it comes, halloumi cheese came out raw had to send back and ask to grill.Puddings hot chocolate fudge cake came out nearly cold, shocking food terrible service, but felt sorry for staff as clearly this is a chef and management problem.Do not advise to eat there again.

Decent range of beers however not convinced by the wine from a tap and the multi-coloured carpet is less than desirable. Very tranquil beer garden. Is it an ice cream shop? Is it a pizzeria? Slight identity crisis here. Decent location for all you tram fans out there. It reminds me of 'The Bluetit' in Marrakesh, as I'm sure some of you shall be familiar with!! Wink wink nudge nudge.
