Came here with friends for food and was pretty disappointed by the staff, very rude and very little customer service skills. The food was OK but I won't be returning if I visit Hull again

Called in for a quick drink on a quiet Monday evening. The barman lacked any basic customer facing skills. No greeting, surly service, no manners. I can understand why the place had only four customers. Employ staff that aren't antisocial, that like people & enjoy providing a service

Went in to Humber Dock Tavern (Green bricks) today, I have been in another twice in the past month, I asked for the 2 grill steaks off the menu, I asked for 2 steaks, it said on the menu I could have 2 side dishes, I asked the lad for fries and peas, he said it was extra, I challenged him about the 2 free sides that go with the steak meals, he said, ‘ the menu changed weeks ago and we haven’t updated it, I told him politely that it shouldn’t be allowed, he said, it’s not fault, it’s the management, I then told I would go elsewhere.I asked myself, did this happen to me twice before in the last 4 weeks? The sides come to 11 pounds, so I’ve been fleeced, also, how many others have been ‘fleeced’ due to this menu misunderstanding, someone should challenge this pub about ripping off the public.

visited humber Dock with friend for drinks. Booked a table online. We arrived to be told a table had not been booked but thr bouncers found us 1. We were told only 2 people at the bar at one time. We went out 4 a cog came back in and they had given our booked table to someone else. Asked a person stood at the door n he seated us some where he was rude and abrupt. Went to the bar for a drink for him to approach me and say " you have to go out side and come bk In and queue for a drink " I apologised as we were not told this for him to tell me " you knew you had to do that mate " but was really rude and told me to get out and queue even though I had been served. He also very abruptly told our partners to sit down. When questioned who he was he said the managers bloke. He was rude abrupt no customer service skills what so ever and just not an inviting person. Then the pub ran out of all cola and lemonade by 8.40pm and there was only bottle of cider and beer. The atmosphere was horrific due to the managers bloke walking round with misserable face and talking to guests like crap. We will NOT return to this pub and have told many people about our experience. 0 star rating

Walking around the busy marina area (1:00pm looking for somewhere to get lunch without having to queue and was pleasantly surprised to find a quiet pub. Got a couple of drinks and asked for a table and we were told "sit where you like" After a quick peruse of the limited menu I plumped for a steak n ale pie only to be informed it had 'sold out' Chose a club Sandwich next and my son picked the mixed grill. Sat back down waiting and eventually after 30mins a member of staff came over, not with food but to ask us to move to another table! Waited another 20mins then went to the bar to ask where our food was and we were told 'it's on its way." After another 5mins (55mins in total) it eventually arrived luke warm. Didn't send it back as I was very hungry by then but will not be returning!

So we arrived, and saw plenty of seating outside, decided to get drinks, and planned to eat later. There was a few people at the tables, we saw no organisation within the pub, no sign of handwash. No one cleaned down the tables as people left. Anyhow two hours later, of them happily taking our money, one of the 'snotty staff' came over. Did you book the table. No! Then you need to move, were to. Over there with the big group. Really, you want us to put ourselves at risk. Anyway the snotty sod carried on been obnoxious, to us and others Well stuff you, tipped our drinks on the floor, move down to the next pub, with polite staff. And bought our planned meal else where. Won't ever get our custom again.

THIS IS AN EXACT COPY OF THE E MAIL THAT I SENT...TO WHICH THEY HAVE NOT HAD THE DECENCY TO REPLY ! LOOKS LIKE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PRETTY CONSISTANT AND IM GUESSING THAT THE IDIOTIC DEMENTED PARROT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY THE MANAGER, HENCE NO REPLY...THERE ARE NICER PUBS WITH NICER STAFF TO GO IN, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ! Sir or Madam,   I can honestly say that I have never felt the need to make a complaint about service I have received until last night in your pub.   My husband went to the bar and ordered a pint of lager and a double vodka red bull (this is advertised all over your pub as being £4.95) he got our drinks, took his change and it wasn’t until he got back to me that he realised that he had paid £13 for the two drinks, this was obviously to much for what we had ordered so I took the vodka red bull back to the bar and was asked by a stocky bearded male if there was a problem.   I asked if the price had changed for my drink because it was the weekend (which was the only logical reason that I could think of) to which he replied that wasn’t the case and I had got what I paid for ! I asked how that could be as the price was £4.95 and we had obviously paid nearly double, to which he basically said that they had run out of “house Vodka” so I had got a premium one, I then tried to reason with him by saying that he should have informed my husband at the time that that was the case, to which he just carried on saying “you got what you paid for” like some idiotic demented parrot. He didn’t even have the decency to come over to me directly, he just kept on serving people throwing comments back at me.   No where is it advertised that the price is different if its not “house vodka” This bar person should have informed my husband that the price was different to the one advertised There was no apology at all or understanding,  just plain arrogance   I am absolutely disgusted with his attitude, last night was neither the time or place to carry on the one sided discussion that I was having, I was neither drunk nor rude to him but was just trying to get my point across.   Another customer stood next to me even said to him that he should have said about the price.   What ever happened to common decency to customers   I await your reply   Andrea

A well established public house frormerly known as the Green Bricks, you'll soon see why. Great loaction down at Marina, large spacious bar with good selection of beers etc., Visited evening time (Monday) with most other establishments at the Marina closed. Made the mistake of ordering food....got to say it was pretty poor, stroganoff for me with what appeared to be microwave or boil in the bag rice and a rather watery solution that was presumably the strog sauce. Would return for a pint if passing but would not eat there.

We visited Hull on Saturday for an open air concert for the BBC Proms. Having some time to have lunch before the concert, we wandered down to the marina looking for a pleasant pub to have lunch. The Humber Dock looked OK, at least from the outside. Inside is dismal, old furniture and furnishings, plus a strong smell of toilet cleaner greeted us. We found a table, easily done, not many tables were occupied. Asked at the bar about ordering, read the menu, limited choice and the four of us chose fish and chips. To the bar to order and buy drinks. One of us ordered drinks, all served in plastic glasses, even the wine. Another ordered the food. Only to over here the "chef" say he only had another two servings of fish and chips left after our order and that ours would be half an hour. This was on a Saturday at about 12.30pm. With very few customers. So we cancelled the order, drank up and left. I cannot comment on the food, only the pub. So if you just want a drink, in a plastic glass, whether inside or outside, don't mind smelly toilets, then give it a try. The waterfront area is very pleasant and was buzzing with people, entertainers and music, but this pub must be letting down the city, especially as a Hull is the City of Culture for 2017. The owners and managers have a few months to get their act together, otherwise visitors are going to get the wrong impression of Hull.

Unfortunately we came across this place on a Saturday lunch time and wished we had walked straight past and gone elsewhere! Being that this establishment is one of the first that greets you onto the marina you would have thought that they should be no undoubtedly able to grasp this advantage by both hands. I fair not! With both staff suitably hospitality qualified and excellent marketing strategy this place could be able to provide the basis of being the best pub in the immediate area to have a cracking few drinks and a decent pub meal. Oh how wrong we were!In walking into the place the first thing you noticed was the dinning/drinking areas to be an untidy unorganised state. Giving them the benefit of the doubt for this was a Saturday lunch time and they were possibly busy [sic, not!]. My partner and I found a relevantly clean and tidy table and proceeded to browse the food menu. My partner opted for the steak pie which was to be accompanied by mashed potatoes, peas and a jug of gravy and myself, although not a vegetarian I selected for a change, plus it sounded rather good the bean burger served in a brioche bun with stilton cheese, walnut salad and the choice of potato (I selected sweet potato fries). We also ordered a pint of beer and a medium glass of white wine………here’s where everything started to go downhill rapidly! Firstly like most females I like to wear lipstick but I’m not very convivial to wearing and certainly not into drinking out of an unwashed wine glass which has the previous drinker’s lipstick cloaked on it! This inattention was dealt with – thankfully they didn’t just pour the contents of wine into a clean glass but saw the error of their ways and issued a newly poured glass of wine! Once seated and the observation that although outside it was a pleasant sunny and warm Saturday the establishment wasn’t that overly busy so with at least 3 members of staff working behind the bar area they could surly easily cope with the workload. After roughly a 25 minute wait one of the bar staff bought over to our table 2 plates of what at one point in its history could have feasibly been food! The steak pie looked a rather grey in colour, the mashed potato looked uninspiring and the peas appeared to have possibly spent the last 2 weeks in the hot dry environment and were not fit for purpose, to eat! Ahh I know what you are thinking “At least it must have be steaming hot”? Unfortunately I’m going to have to disappoint you here for I think the mortal sin had been carried out for plate #1…… it had been ‘cooked’ in the microwave! Although the outer serving bowl was the temperature of the core of the sun but the once the ‘microwaved’ soggy pastry lid was lifted the contents were as cold as the last glacier ice age! Come on plate #2 must have been better…….sorry no can do……my freezer bag chips were doing a very good act of pretending to be ‘sweet potato fries’ (which when the waitress was informed of their error bought the ‘correct’ fries – ‘free of charge’ I was told I have you know…..mighty decent of them [sic])! Now I pride myself on at my age to still having all of my own teeth but on inspection of lifting the brioche I was greeted by, if it wasn’t already in a vegetate state and never once a breathing animal it was effectively rather well charred and dead now. Not only was it somewhat crunchy on the outside but the inside too. By this time my partner had given up on all hope of tackling the objects on his plate and started to look towards a share of my burnt offerings instead. Enough was enough so we called over to the staff member who bought the plates to our tables to explain our situation. She asked us if everything was okay which my partner replied well not really as his meal was served to him to be rather cold and uneatable and mine meal was rather on the overdone state. We were knowledge that she would speak with the manager and would ask them to come over to speak with us. Fortunately this information obviously prompted the manager to act promptly [sic] to the point my partner had to make an additional THREE trips up to the bar until the manager emerged to deal with the matter!! He seemed somewhat surprised to find out that our meals weren’t very good and tried to play it down. Clearly he wouldn’t be able to vet all of the plates that leave the kitchen on route to his customers but clearly if he is under the impression that the plates of food served up to us were of suitable standard he needs to reevaluate if he’s running a pub/restaurant and not in fact a company producing items intended to go straight to landfill instead! Here’s the one and only positive detail that came out of this fiasco that both our meals were refunded.Summing this up – get both your front and back of house customer service right, market your place as to somewhere customers would want to pay to eat and drink and also pay you other visits and heavens above cook your food properly! Until you do that properly you will unfortunately be reading more damming reviews, such as this from other unhappy customers.NB This place has changed its name to be now called the Humber Dock Tavern

We looked forward to visiting this pub as it is a place we used to go visit prior to it being refurbished and opened under the new name. The interior was nice and the music was good, dancy and remixed to get you in the mood for the night. The major let down were the bar staff. There were 2 girls serving, both with faces like a wet weekend and the sort of un-friendly un-approachable attitudes. After being served my drinks I politely asked for some lime in one of the pints of lager. The girl who served me stared at me with a blank expression for a few seconds and then muttered, 'we dont have lime'This was a lie as she had put the lime in our previous drinks, she just couldn't be bothered to give give me some.If I were the owner I would take a close look at how my bar staff interact with customers and implement training or get rid of them for staff that enjoy doing their job, know how to say please and thanks, can smile and dont mind putting lime a drink.

I visited with a group of friends to eat on April 29th.Once we got seated we were told by the waitress that she would take our drinks order from the table as there were a few of us instead of getting us to go to the bar. (Like this isn't normal in a restaurant) so she gave us a pen and scrap paper to write down our drinks order. (We were certain that this should be her job but we wrote it down anyway)Same again for the food, we where given a scrap piece of paper and a pen and told to write down our food order. Food didn't take that long if I'm honest so we were happy about that. But for a bar and grill that is calling itself a steak house you'd of thought they'd be able to cook steak as ordered. I ask for my £25 18oz steak to be cooked medium/rare and when it arrived I was left with a chewy well done piece of meat that was about as tasty as a leather boot. I sent it back as I was unhappy obviously and ask again for medium/rare. So about 15 minutes later my second steak arrived and I'm pretty sure it was still moo'ing. On top of this, one of my friends side dish was missing. We all got the dirty fries, which are advertised as fries with pulled pork among other things such as cheese and chipotle. Well I'm still waiting for the pulled pork to turn up. All in all, between us we spent over £200 and needless to say we were all in agreement that we would not be returning. Disappointed is an understatement.

No answer so got the email address from the website and sent the order that way. Rang later on to check they had received my order and they said they had. When I got there I was told the email address on the website was wrong so they hadn't got my order! Good start! Food came in the end, 2 orders of which were 'fish finger wrap with tartare sauce'. I didn't expect to take the fish FINGER literally - there was one fish finger in the wrap, and no tartare sauce. This cost £5.95 and the fish fingers were a cheap brand, certainly not homemade. £5.95 for one fish finger, some manky salad that looked days old and I had to pay £1.25 extra for chips! We told the waitress but there was no apology. We told the bar man and he said the chef had left for a while (I hoped maybe to get more fish fingers and some fresh salad!!!). No money was taken off my bill but they took my email address and said the chef/manager would email me. This has not been forthcoming. Very disappointing for a place that splashes 'city of culture' all over the outside.

Visited Humber Dock Bar & Grill (formerly known as Green Bricks) last Saturday, April 1st. I think these guys take April Fool's Day a little too seriously. Ordered the 32oz twin rib eye to share with my girlfriend, with a couple of starters and sides. After 20 minutes of waiting a server came over to tell us that rib eye wasn't actually available, so would rump be okay? Not really I said, and suggested sirloin, and he went off to check. The starters came and went with no further clarification on what our main would actually be. A different server went off to check and confirmed it would be sirloin. At no point did any staff stop to think that what I had ordered was around £8 more expensive that what I would be getting, so I had to point this out to be refunded the difference. After waiting a total of 1 hour (confirmed by the time on the receipt) my girlfriend went to the bar to ask. 10 minutes later the steak finally came out and the night truly took a bizarre turn. Instead of receiving a 32oz steak on a heated "rock" as the menu implies, the servers brought over two 16oz sirloins, one of which was sizzling on the aforementioned rock, the other on a small plate, completely cold and raw. Now I'm not squeamish around raw meat, especially steak, but I did have to wonder what the kitchen staff and servers were thinking. Did the chef decide to chuck Steak #2 out of the door without even bothering cooking it, after my girlfriend complained and word got back to him? How would a family with young children have reacted? After asking a server if this was right, he confirmed it was so, and that I could cook my steak on the rock after my girlfriend's had finished (despite the fact they brought no side plates...). I suggested that bringing two rocks out would have been more sensible and he went off to get another one. So then I had the delight of cooking my own dinner at the table after waiting over an hour for it and paying in total over £50 (2 drinks, 2 starters, 1 main).Despite cooking it medium rare, the steak was rubbish. These guys have "BEST STEAK IN HULL" and "BEST STEAK IN CITY OF CULTURE 2017" plastered all over their windows.

Great location, great provenance for history, great pub features with green bricks outside but food poor to say the least. Menu very limited and with this year putting Hull the Culture City this kitchen needs to alter the changes required. Come Easter forwards there will be a lot of discerning clients at their doorstep due to the culture venues and the Marina at their doorstep. We had Salmon, very bland seemed microwaved or poached with no seasoning or served with lemon. The vegetables were the same apart from a good mash taste wise. The ambience and bar and serving staff were on top of their game and customers well attended to apart from the kitchen. A lot going for this place but they could re-look at the menu and how to prepare and cook to today's clients and leave the past for a new Hull in eateries.

Stopped here for lunch on Saturday 18 February. From the outside the pub looks characterful although inside it has been recently refurbished so lost a bit of it's original character. Staff not particularly welcoming and when we ordered drinks their hot drinks machine wasn't working. Ordered food from a decent selection but don't be in a rush - took nearly 1 hour to serve us. When the food came - fish and chips in my case - the portions were generous so no complaints on that front. Perhaps a bit of staff training might help..!!

Very disappointed on the cleanliness, throughout the pub. On first glance looks fine but when you have ordered and sat down you notice the dirty tables, carpet and general dust. It has that uncared for unloved appearance. If we had seen the state of the toilets before we ordered we would not have stayed. The young guy serving was polite and friendly but he couldn't makeup for the poor quality meal we were served, fish and chips with mushy peas and bread and butter. Fish ok batter strange, chips over cooked and no butter for the dry bread. We traveled from York to enjoy Hulls city of culture experience so come on Green Bricks don't let your city down.

Visited on a Monday evening for wife's birthday. Place was almost deserted apart from two kids birthday parties with screaming kids, not a great start. Found a table in quieter area and ordered food. Had to get own cutlery from bar and ask for table to be cleaned as it was very sticky. Loud speaker over table meant we couldn't talk to each other so another move. Starters arrived, prawn cocktail, budget quality prawns on lettuce leaves with no sauce and chopped onions and peppers, very strange and not nice. Mains arrived and were edible but not great quality. Being Monday they had a 50% off offer so well priced but still not worth the money. Wife went to ladies to find 3 cubicles 2 out of order and third leaking so wet floor and no soap for hand washing. The place has no atmosphere and is in need of a full makeover. This pup is on the edge of the marina and with city of culture coming up next year it needs sorting or closing soon.

Waited 30+ minutes at a reasonably quiet period. I ordered garlic kiev and my partner ordered fish and chips. Upon arrival both meals were lukewarm. My garlic kiev was hardly garlicy and my partners fish was very greasy. Chips on both meals were rustic which was a nice touch but they were really dry.Toilets were disgusting urine/toilet water all over one cubicle floor, the other was heavily soiled and dirty. A lady that was already using a toilet called to me as I walked in and suggested I use the one after her as it was the best of the bunch. Toilet roll was wet with an unknown liquid and was on top of the cistern due to dispenser being empty. My partner reported that the men's toilets were not much better. The other half of the pub was closed due to a function so these toilets were the only ones available to pub customers.I would not recommend this pub to anyone and I will definitely not be returning to dine.

Living fairly close by I have often considered the Green Bricks as a venue for food and ale, but never quite got there until this month. I was not disappointed with the quality of either of these and the service was great as well.On the evening of my visit there weren't many people inside (quite normal for the day of the week I went according to the Host), but nonetheless it made no difference to the quality of the food or the service. On this occasion I opted for a rib eye steak from their evening (Black Rock) menu which you can either have cooked for you or served served on 440 deg volcanic rocks to seal in the juices. I opted to have mine cooked for me and I must say it was cooked perfectly.I will definitely be going back again

At the time of my visit the pub was completely empty, but I still received a warm welcome. As a single bloke I was longing for some meat and veg, and while the meat was awesome, the veg was lacking. But that is in no way a detriment to this establishment. I ordered the rib eye steak with posh chips and I wasn't disappointed. The food was very tasty and my rare steak was cooked to perfection. My only criticism is the lack of vegetables in the evening menu, although they do have a good choice on the menu. My partner and I went here Saturday teatime for some food around 6.15pm. We actually only went because it was so busy in Minerva pub, down the same street. Menu outside described some wonderful sounding food. Inside, very dimly lit with dance music very loud for the time of day. Not a major issue but alarm bells should have rang when we saw how empty it was and the lack of people eating. Had to search for a menu, found one on the bar eventually. There are no instructions on how to order,so guessed after a bit that you had to go to the bar. Again, not a serious problem but basics really.I ordered the 8oz steak classic cheese burger with chunky chips and salad. My partner chose the bell top pepper stuffed with sweet corn couscous and blue cheese with house potatoes. We waited around 35 minutes which was a little long. I was Brought my burger but it had potatoes instead of chips (just not normal!). I didn't want to complain as I was hungry and had waited for so long. It was also lukewarm to the touch. We waited for my partners meal to arrive, it didn't!Eventually the female from behind bar approached us with an apology stating they had made an error, that the other dish had been missed and the potatoes had been wrongly added to the burger. She offered to make up a fresh burger with chips as she could see I had only had one bite and wanted to eat at the same time as my partner. She also gave us 2 vouchers for free puddings which was a nice touch, apology accepted although it was frustrating. She assured us both fresh meals would be ready asap. We waited another ten or so minutes and both meals came together. We were brought no cutlery and I had to go and ask a bar man for some. I also had to ask for condiments which were not brought out before the food. The condiments had no salt so I had to search a few tables to locate some. Again, very basic things you should at least expect when paying for a meal.Gritted my teeth and said to my partner,"lets just eat up and get out of here"The food itself was the final straw. The belltop stuffed pepper was basically a slightly heated green pepper plonked on top of a bowl of watery undercooked couscous. No blue cheese and it certainly wasn't stuffed. My chips were solid in the middle, undercooked and somehow luke warm. After 2 bites of my almost cold burger I got an irony taste. Under the dim lighting I snapped the burger in half to discover it was raw and bloody! I examined it under a brighter light and there was no mistaking the red and pink colouring. Now, this was no steak tartar or high class medium rare steak burger! It was a pub grub burger that was not cooked through. The sight almost made me puke knowing I had already swallowed some. The idea of food poisoning is not something I am keen on!I returned to the bar and showed the raw burger to the barman, he embarrassingly apologised (a running theme) and obliged when I asked for a refund. A disgusting experience all in all. I have drank in green bricks before and in fairness it seems more like a pub, than its claim to also be a restaurant. It strikes me that it is a pub which wants a slice of the food market but has not got to grips with the basics of what this requires. Menus on all tables, cutlery , clear notices on how to order, lower background music at mealtimes etc. And I am unsure if the chef is a chef or perhaps a member of the family? I am no chef myself but the very least you can do is ensure food is cooked, even burnt would have been better! Needless to say, I wont be returning for my free pudding. Waste of an hour and a half and a potential risk of food poisoning. Poor.

We also ordered the extras sauce, a blue cheese one and a peppercorn, again very tasty. My friend had the gammon, it was a bit too salty for our tastes, maybe needed an overnight soak to rid some of the salt, The staff are very polite, tho sometimes not enough of them on duty. Four of us arrived at 7.30pm. We were asked if we were eating and said yes. We were then told they couldn't fit us in until 8.30pm- we said this was fine as we were waiting for 3 other people to arrive. As the pub was extremely quiet we presumed, having never been before, that the food must be served in another part of the building which much have been busy. At 8.40pm our order was taken. Food arrived about 9pm and was really nice- hence my rating of 2 and not 1! We finished our meal at 9.30pm and asked for a dessert menu. The young lady returned a few moments later and said she'd be told to tell us that there were no desserts available as the chef had finished at 9pm. We were all very disappointed. I believe it would have been much more professional to be told, as they delivered our main meals, "The kitchen will be closing at 9pm, did you want any desserts to be brought before the chef finishes" but not one word. Can't say we'll be returning- a random wait of an hour before we could even order- for no apparent reason, and then no dessert to end our meal.

Checking with the staff that all the blackrock meals were available having had the black rock groupon the week before which was really good the family tucked into their meals during the middle of their meals serving staff came and started cleaning the tables and put reserve signs on the tables. When we asked why, and explained we still had two more to eat and four more to arrive she said that's fine its not your fault your already sat there.Other staff continued to clean and even cleaned up the table that the children were due to have their desserts served on. My daughter went to check with the bar staff what was happening and was told that they were fully booked with Groupon customers and we would either have to order from the normal kitchen menu or move and sit in the other area after. We had children with us and didn't want to move to a rowdy area where people had been drinking all day. We felt very uncomfortable and felt we were forced out after spending the best part of £100 in there, two people didn't eat and had to cancel four people from meeting us. Had 'Sunday' lunch here today, as it advertised 'STEAK' in big letters on the wall outside and my hubby is a lover. Turns out all the various steaks on offer are only served after 6pm! The only steak on the menu was rump and the wait was 55 minutes. We only ordered nuggets, (2 x kids meals), haddock and chips and rump steak, when the steak arrived it looked overcooked and as though it had been sat resting for 50 of those mintues. The kids put 50p each into a game machine which didn't work and did not refund the money, went to tell the bar staff thinking he would just refund the money as the right thing to do and as he turned the machine off he grunted to me that I would have to wait til the land lady came in. I asked when that would be and he said he didn't know. Not bothered about the amount but out of basic customer service, setting a good example to children and out of courtesy he could have refunded us! The tables were grubby and had not been cleaned, the people sat on the table next to us got their food before us despite ordering 10 mins after us, the mushy peas had a crust over them and they gave my daughter beans instead of peas. Overall it was shoddy, lacking in customer care, food wasn't great, fish portion was small, chips were about the best thing. We will never go there again.

The waitress explained the groupon offer and we made our choices. We ordered steak on a rock which came in a good timescale. Although i have used this technique before my boyfriend hadnt and was excited to see how it worked. I was disappointed that there was nowhere to place you meat once it was cooked to you liking, as it then continued to cook. I also found it 'spat' freqently and therefore covered me in fat as well as the table which therefore meant it was greesy for the rest of the evening. 2nd visit to this pub, first was excellent a few months ago, good sized hot rock rib eye steaks, ample side dishes - how different last night's visit was. Steak had shrunk, sides of a few chips was barely adequate but it was only costing £7 on Groupon so hey ho I thought. Finished to pay the bill of the extra watery pepper sauce and bottle of cheap wine to be asked for over £17 ? Commented to the lady that the same wine last visit cost £9.99 to be swiftly corrected that that was the house wine, and the cheap tasting wine I had selected was actually £14.95 - even though it was exactly the same bottle as before. Anyway, I didn't have the time or inclination to argue the toss so paid up and left. Sadly not to return, for food anyway.Side note, the venue has an excellent outdoor seating area alongside the marina which is fine for a beer on a sunny day.

Went last night with my hubby and had two steak meals with a Groupon offer. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I ordered the rib eye and hubby a sirloin steak. We didn't have to wait long before we got our meals. Both came on a hot black rock and the steaks were a very good size. We then cooked the steaks to our desired taste in front of us on the hot rock. I kept throwing a few onions on and other bits to watch them sizzle also. We found the whole experience very exciting and so tasty. Served with chips onions mushrooms and tomatoes and a side salad. The whole thing was just yummy. We could not fault it. We will definately be returning.

Sat outside on Friday and they seem to have put a bit off effort into upgrading. Food seemed good and a very nice location right on the marina.

From the moment I walked in with my 5 month old baby, Emme welcomed me. I sat down and fed my baby whilst I waited for friends to come and Emme went out her way to come to my table to take my drinks order and bring the card machine to me as I was feeding my baby. She was very smiley, friendly and checked how our food was when it came. Thank you Emme for your lovely service!

Food was ok but one item was missing. When I called to report this I was advised I could get it replaced tomorrow! Not great so I had to get it refunded.

What a shame. This place is clearly run down. Hygiene and housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Food - edible but disappointing and certainly not as the pictures in the menu promise. We've been coming here for 15 years but this was the last time. A sign of this times i guess. This place needs serious investment to bring it to its former glory.

As always we had a great time in this lgbt friendly cafe bar. Friendly chatty staff fun atmosphere (there's often a drag act on or dj) and most of the prices are cheaper than weatherspoons.
