Last came here 5 years ago for a birthday party and we were all put in what can be described as an old granny conservatory. It was extremely hot and stuffy on that day. Fast forward to this year ( Sunday 1st September) and guess what, we were in granny's conservatory again! I felt extremely hot as soon as we walked in. There was only one fan in a room of 20 odd people. The weather was cooler, but I found it extremely hot. The roast dinner carvery was excellent and the chef who cooked the carvery was very funny and kind. Many thanks to the waitress who very kindly carried my dinner to the table for me as I had my walking stick with me (I am very extremely grateful to you for helping me). Ben. I hope that the next time we come, that we all will be in the main part of the restaurant

I personally adore it here. It’s very pretty, scenic and relaxing, a slice of countryside as you eat a delicious roast. These roasts have a choice of three sizes to suit all types and various meats to choose from also. And the homemade cakes and desserts are such a treat, like my Mother used to make. Homely and hearty. For families it’s perfect and we have been many times for different get togethers. There is also a delightful farm shop next door that has most of the groceries to cover a full shop. Locally made and sourced produce - and there is a lovely walk around the premises, where you can look at the variety of animals on site. It’s reliable and hearty food served with a smile. A Great team.

Good place to go to wait a long time for a bang average roast

Great stop at this restaurant. Large parking lot, extended tables available, PMR access. The waiters and the owner are adorable and helpful, the prices are controlled (£6 to £13 per dish). You can take the breakfast menu which is always available like in a good American Diner. On Sundays they make cuts of meat on a rotisserie, and by carving, which is really worth the detour. We will come back with pleasure!

What a beautiful idealic place, lambs happily climbing and jumping from some hay bales in the adjoining field, geese wandering along! Food is inexpensive, very tasty and wholesome, and a lovely coffee to boot. The farm shop next door smells wonderful and has lots of lovely things to buy from chilli relish & condiments through to fresh veg and a full meat counter.

Website and menu all say closes at 3pm it we arrived just after 2pm and the kitchen was already closed. Waitress was very apologetic but had their website been upto date we wouldn't have wasted our time.

Lovely staff and just a really friendly atmosphere. The roast is good value (a small suits me fine as a medium sized lady).

Nice venue and restaurant with lots of parking which is good. The service and carvery is a bit odd as it's all plated for you so not really a carvery and this takes a long time so there was a long queue. The food however was amazing! I had all four meats which I don't usually do at other places as I find the beef tough but here it was cooked how I like it and not tough at all, all the other meats were cooked perfectly too I really enjoyed them. I also liked the vegetables, roasters and Yorkshire puddings. All the family enjoyed it and we will definitely be back again.

What an angry horrible man the owner is !! Came in for a family roast dinner . Ordered 2 x small roasts and because I asked for a few extra scoops of cauliflower cheese he asked that I pay for a large instead of a small. He then began to get rude and aggressive so I asked for a refund. Waitress agreed that he was extremely rude and mentioned he is always like this to customers. What a shame ! We are local and live in nailsea so I will be sure to share my experience! Will not be visiting again until owner changes!

Very friendly staff who explained the menu well and gave great service. The food was good and the place was warm and roomy.

Had mother's day carvery today , everything was amazing the staff were excellent and the owner who is the chef came and sat with us and also gave the kids sweets, highly recommend this place nice little hidden gem, Will definitely go back 😊

Went back to here as the waitresses are friendly and the food is generally ok... Today however the vegetables were tepid and the pork tough. We noted to the waitress on our order being taken that we would probably like a dessert however on finishing our food we waited almost an hour for one of the waitresses to return however they mainly decided to prepare their own meals and sit down to eat with one just setting up tables and then cleaning.... When mentioned at paying for our meals at the till I was advised that the kitchen closed some time ago!! I knew this as had watched as they stopped service but paid no attention to patrons remaining. I advised this was the second time this had happened in as many visits ... Not really sure I'll be attending again in a hurry if this is the service now then I see it slipping.... Also being advised by the chef, on the temperature of the food, that next time they could microwave my food if it was not as it should be doesn't feel one with confidence in the quality being offered. Sad as feel for the money being paid there are better standards elsewhere.

Had a drink when out for a bike ride

Came here for a roast dinner with the family. Food was great, service was very good, had to que for carvery but this was to be expected. This is a card only venue.

A fantastic place to eat and meet up with people. Carvery is amazing plenty of tasty meat and veggie options. Vegetables are cooked to perfection.

Food is good but would prefer to select and plate my own veg though. I'm not a child and I did not like the looks or attitude I got from the serving staff when asking for the choices I made and quantities! The service was awful, one particular waitress is extremely bossy, abrupt and quite rude plus we had to wait nearly an hour before we got our tickets to go up for our food only to be stood in a long queue right in the path of customers entering the building. Preferred the way it was run under the previous management before covid. As for the conservatory- a very cold and dirty feeling place reminds me of a greasy spoon café.

Very good carvery and service. Selection of vegetables is good. Recommend booking. We arrived with no booking. Inside was full but we were able to eat outside in the beautiful Autumn sun. I appreciated meal size options of small, standard and mega. Photos show small and standard.

Great quality food, great service

The Sunday roast is really good, Served on nice warm plates. Staff are welcoming. My only gripe would be that the queue for the carvery blocked the exit door so we were in the way of people leaving or entering the restaurant.

Im doing a fair review here, had a carvery roast dinner, its not quite what it used to be under the new owners, small meat portions and not great quality, not much taste to it. Cant physically put veg/roasters/etc on your plate, its done for you which I find is very intimidating as the look you get for asking politely for more roasters when they put 3 on your plate… its not the worst idea as I understand for hygiene but how its handled isn't great. yorkshires were frozen not hand made which again isnt the worst thing in the world but for the cost of the roast dinner you'd expect better quality really all round. This isnt said to take a dig, we didn't have a bad experience but just way to over priced for the quality of the food. The place itself is in a lovely location and looks really nice, peaceful atomsphire with ducks, geese and sheep to look at out the front of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant it looks lovely, has a great look to it.

Had a roast dinner here. The food was well presented, tasty and a fair size portion. The waitress was really helpful and friendly. The farm shop adjoining the restaurant is great too. Lots of local produce on offer. My only small gripe would be that the queue of people for the carvery blocks the entrance/exit door so whilst waiting in line we had to keep moving back and forth for people to enter or leave the restaurant. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

We love a breakfast here. We are both vegetarian and their veggie breakfast is very nice, good value, served all day and their outdoor seating is great on a sunny day. We enjoy visiting the farm animals afterwards too

Excellent food including gluten free cake. The manager couldn’t do enough. Friendly and caring! ‘ If there’s something you’d like just let us know and we’ll try to sort it!’ Great service. Relaxing location. Small amount of animals for the children to visit. Well stocked farm shop attached. We bought GF sausages that were amazing, fresh strawberries and raspberries. The Greedy Goose…. A fantastic find! Will definitely return to try the carvery! ( Sunday only!)

Went with my daughter I had a breakfast which was very nice my daughter had cheeses chips. The waitresses need to learn how to carry two plates at a time. They were very slow. There were some people that ordered well before we even got in there and we got ours first, so I don’t know if the chef can keep an eye on the tickets they’re coming in apart from that very nice place to go

Really enjoyed the Greedy Goose. We were well looked after a young student who let us get on with getting some business done. Burgers were excellent.

On the spur of the moment my husband and I decided to go for breakfast/brunch. We chose a scrumptious full cooked breakfast - the sausages were particularly tasty. The coffee was also very good. Service was quick and friendly. Would highly recommend. No doubt we will be back again soon 😋.

Very generous portions but patchy service, quantity is the name of the game

Was recommended for Sunday lunch. Meat was and looked lovely, veg could have been better especially the cheese sauce on the cauliflower, looked as though it had separated. Unfortunately the actual restaurant was freezing as was the red wine, not making a great place to relax and you just wanted to eat and go! Offered blankets but in this age not sure sharing is a good idea! Toilets out of order apart from disabled loo which definitely needs tlc !!! Overall ok but not the best

No staff have a clue about what they are doing and all staff were saying different things… got order confused and took ages for food, would not return

Carrots had dry skin and the broccoli was raw. Only one yooirkey pud and pig in blanket

Food a bit mixed in quality , vegetables not very hot and a little hit and miss with the cooking of them. This was a carvery meal with plenty of choice.

Went for a carvery breakfast, did not have everything cooked, said they would bring bits over when it was ready but never arrived too busy chatting

We ate there today, 3 adults and two children, the staff were so caring with my disabled daughter , the man who was carving was so good with the children, made them laugh, and the food was perfection ! Best Sunday roast we’ve ever had .

Stopped here for our break during a shift. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Thank you guys.

Great place for a morning coffee as well as a lunch and especially Sunday lunch. Also has a farm shop full of goodies.

I can't say I enjoyed the food, myself and my son left half our dinner because it was just too bland and not nice tasting enough to carry on eating. We were very disappointed as we had picked this place because of the good reviews. The grounds of the restaurant are absolutely lovely and it would be an amazing place for a family get-together if the food was better. The beef had no flavour, the roast potatoes were like the ones you get frozen the the stuffing was just soggy and hadn't been roasted the veg is not nice and the cauliflower cheese had no cheesiness. 🙁

First time back in almost 2yrs, not able to help yourself at the minute to carvery but the young girl serving was generous and plated the food to good presentation. Nìce selection of seasonal veg. Waiting staff were friendly and efficient we didnt have to wait ages for our drinks. Meal & drinks reasonably priced. Only negative is the table right by the toilet entrance was able to move tables no bother at all so all was good. Worth a visit if you like Carvery 👍

Of the six items ordered, three were correct. Even if you don't have allergies simply removing an ingredient rather than making fresh is my expectation, given the fluid nature of the inside of a tomato you cannot JUST pick it off, I guess I'll have to go home and make my own sandwich. If you lack the skills to make a flat white, just remove it from the menu and leave a latte on there, the two are not interchangeable. The smoke from the smokers immediately outside carried indoors and spoiled the end of our little break (fortunately they only started as we were finishing). Despite the inaccuracies in the order most of the staff were friendly and attentive.

Took mum for mother's day roast dinner, all good, friendly staff, clean, great food

Unfortunately, not a patch on what it was like before. Cheap quality fatty meat, tasteless mushy veg, soggy parsnips, everything piled in a heap on the plate, aunt Bessie’s yorkshires. The carrots were nice…that’s the best thing I can say. Real shame. The service was good and the place is nice. I’d rather eat a Toby Carvery.

Just enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with tea and coffee at this lovely cafe. Service is excellent and although the place is very popular there is plenty of seating. Will definitely be back.

On this occasion not so good poor service not the food I was after wanted a carvery but it was not available

We have been to this restaurant a few times, the food is great but the system doesn’t work. You ring to book to be told you don’t need to, then you turn up and it’s full and you have to wait. The waitress asks what you want to eat and drink and takes the money up front. Then supposed to return with your ticket to go to the counter for your food but forgets to come back. Why doesn’t the waitress have tickets with her to give you as soon as you pay. Also the restaurant was full so we were put in the conservatory over flow area, it was cold in there and full of cobwebs. If you are going to use this area then at least clean it.

Sad to give this review as I did enjoy visits before today's visits. On arrival waiting for a table we booked , we were told there's yer table,which had not been cleaned after the other people had just left it. We were then told we could not have food from the normal menu ,only carvery,which was a lie because a table of cyclists had sandwiches and jackets we asked why they could have sandwiches and were told the other menu was now not available even though we arrived just after them? We had the carvery which was poor against other visits we were served very much like a schools dinner lady. Toilets were not clean and an embarrassment. I will not go there again. Such a shame.

Fantastic carvery!, heard good reviews so I thought I would try and I wasn’t disappointed. There is a main dining area and a conservatory on the side.They do a standard carvery or a mega on a rectangle plate. Choice of 3 meats and good selection of veg and cauli cheese.Thatchers on tap.

Enjoyed a carvery with two friends and my husband. The portions were large, food was very tasty. The only let down was the service, they forgot our drinks and when we finished we spent ages trying to catch someone's eye to pay, but ended up getting up and standing at the counter. It's cute, small and feels good to support local 👌.

First time visit for breakfast and the whole experience was good. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast choice was excellent and food was hot and delicious. Next time I'm staying in the area I'll definitely be returning for breakfast .

My family recently booked this venue for a surprise birthday party for me and what a wonderful time we all had. Venue is in a beautiful location and my grandchildren had great fun interacting with the animals (as did the grown ups). Food was fabulous and plentiful and staff were lovely and attentive. I look forward to returning soon.

Good friendly service I always seem to arrive late, just as closing up but the staff always provide me with a coffee and cake with a smile 👍I'm informed their Sunday Lunch is excellent.

A beautiful setting, food is good value

I'm guessing this is under new management. Unfortunately having waited best part of an hour to be served the chips were undercooked and hairs found in salad! When pointed out to the management no apology, just the reply, "Oh was there?" Very slow, poor service. This used to be a great place. Such a shame but definitely would not recommend. 🙁

Another lovely couple of hours meeting a friend for coffee in these turbulent times. The water, hens, geese, ducks, sheep, friendly staff and excellent coffee all add to the tranquill experience.
