The Grape Variety in Reigate and Banstead

The Grape Variety at Chipstead is a hidden gem… wine shop by day, wine bar by night. Adrian and his team do a superb job and we always love going. Great wines, lovely service and ambience and some lovely food options e.g. chorizo and fries, baked Camembert, charcuterie boards etc. We highly recommend and it makes a nice change from the pub for something a bit different.

Thank you to Adrian & Debbie for looking after me & my friend Helen last night - we had a great evening catching up over a couple of cocktails, some fizz and one of their delicious mixed sharing boards. It wasn’t our first visit and it definitely won’t be our last. I just wish you would open a “Grape Variety” in Nork! Highly recommended.

Since Mayur left, who had the passion and knowledge, this place has been taken over by Adrian, where the service has gone downhill. The first time we met him, he noted my Hirt worn back to front and instead of being subtle, he was crass with his comment. His knowledge of wine I found limiting. The second and more recently, he was away in holiday. The staff did not have any knowledge at all, including what taxi to order in the locality! But worst of all, we bought, in addition to the in-house wine, cocktails and food, wine to take home. A considerable amount, one of which was corked. Slow email response and having to go back to Chipstead to return and replace, with no small token gestures.

A gorgeous wine bar! We love coming on Thursdays when the pizza bar visits! Gorgeous wines with excellent service! Always bring our friends!

As a previous reviewer has already said, this place is a hidden gem. They offer a fantastic selection of wines (there's an online list which totals 13 pages) paired with a selection of cheese and charcuterie boards to munch on. It has a chilled vibe with a great playlist too. Highly recommended.

This local wine bar is great for a relaxed evening and chat. Delicious grazing boards and local beer plus an amazing selection of wines. The wine of the week was just £5 for a large glass! Our 3rd visit and certainly won’t be our last.

This was my first visit with a group of friends. The wine selection was extensive. I especially liked the fact that a cheese board or a charcuterie board, or a mix of both could be ordered & enjoyed with the wine. Our group had a fun evening and we will return. Please note ladies that the only toilet is down a steep staircase, so leave your heels at home! Recommended.

*full disclosure* - we are fairly local and go here fairly regularly. This cosy little wine bar is the perfect spot to jump off of the treadmill and relax with good wine, fantastic deli food options and stellar customer service. Seriously, about the service. The young team can’t do enough to make your stay a wonderful one; nothing is too much trouble and a refill is never far away! Absolute must.

Great food, wine and staff, always have a wonderful time here. Pizza project on a Thursday night is a must and their meat and cheese boards are great perfect for couples or a group of friends.

Love this bar. We visited over the weekend and loved the place as we always do. Amazing selection of wine but also beers and gins too. Service is exemplary and nothing is ever too much trouble

After hunting for a particular wine that is no longer produced I contact Ted the grape variety to see if they could recommend something similar. They did and the wine was absolutely lovely as was the service. Not stuffy at all and gave great service and advice based on my preferences. So pleased to have found them.

Stumbled across this place by accident whilst in the area, really lovely little place with a great atmosphere. The cheeseboard is delicious! Really friendly attentive staff. Can't wait to pay another visit!
