What a wonderful warm welcome, barman was super friendly, recommended some beers and had a great afternoon. It was great as there were no screaming kids only quiet customers, some with the odd well behaved dog so for us it was idea!!… absolutely loved it..thank you the Bell..

Lovely little boozer playing some excellent music and with that wonderfully weird collection of nick-nacks on the wall. More of a long thin pub on the smallish side, but this just seems to make it a friendlier place as everyone was nice, There is a beer garden out the back which has some covered areas as well. The Guinness was excellent as was the Timothy Taylor's Landlord.

I've been using The Bell for many years, as after a walk, it's a handy spot to enjoy some excellent beers before the train. The Bell is a very cosy pub, really friendly, with a smashing back yard and they play good music. Above all though, the beer selection is fantastic, ever changing and with local beers always available! The only turn-off for me is that they've recently started closing early on Sundays, with everything over by eight o'clock. At this time of year, Pilgrim brewery is often finished by then on a Sunday, so beyond that time now, one's really hard pushed to find any beer worth drinking in the town. I can understand that on a really quiet night, paying a staff member wipes out much of the profit. In somewhere with a live in licensee though, would it really be the worst thing in the world for the landlord to be bored in their own pub for a few hours, if only as a gesture of good will to loyal customers, that enjoyed the option of a Sunday evening?!

Met at the door 15 minutes after opening time by a loud mouthed troglodyte who told us that the door is locked for a reason and to go away (in not such a civilised way) before slamming the door in our faces. Always fabulous food and lovely friendly staff. Hands down my favourite lunch places in the area. The standard and quality of food is so high and the prices are very reasonable. My fave is the superfood salad which is packed full of so many, very fresh, tasty ingredients. It feels like such a yummy treat but it's also soooo healthy. My mother in law had the croque madame and said it was the tastiest she'd had. Well done Fego. Keep doing what you're doing so very well!

Disappointing A group of 10 friends for Christmas style food. Firstly, we asked for no sauce on fish for my husband when we pre ordered food. It arrived with the sauce, and ge had to wait at least 20 mins for new food. By this time, the rest were nearly finished. Dessert, 3 ordered chocolate and raspberry with ice cream thing, nice, but it went wrong at first attot a.d we had wait another 15 mins, again rest were nearly finished. Dessert was nice. Those that had Christmas pudding said it was just warm and pretty small. Manager was on his own and kept disappearing, no idea where too. He was pleasant enough and apologised for the couple of 'little mishaps', group left a tip which we probably woildnt have, thought they could have at least gave a complimentary drink or some small gesture. It those small tokens that encourage return guests. Overall nice night due to company but very poor service and lack lustre re food quality
