the owner/manager of this pub absolutely made the experience!! what an awesome guy with such a great personality. the rest of the staff were quite personality-less but it was a busy sunday service and they were also quite young as well. food was good, looks great inside.

We chose a pie each & the guy raved about them saying you won't be disappointed. Well we were. I have never seen so much gravy on a meal . The broccoli was completely submerged including the mash potato. The guy came over & asked if it was an amazing pie ,I mentioned about the gravy & he walked away. To be fair it wasn't a complete disaster as the pie tasted ok not great just ok . I ate as much as I could . He came back to collect the bowls not plates & I mentioned again. He then said I thought it looked like a lot of gravy. He said they would take it onboard & going forward put the gravy in a jug.

We had my husband's 40th birthday party there. The service and food quality were excellent and we had a great time. The pub garden has a lovely relaxed vibe and inside is beautifully decorated and well kept. Highly recommend!

This place has absolutely no character at all. Always empty in the dining section and the tiniest of bars. It has lost its charm from what it once was.

We popped in for something small to eat before taking part in the quiz and was extremely impressed with the food as well as the service we received. Savannah and Chole were a absolute delight and we will definitely be back!

We came to celebrate a dear friends 40th and couldn’t have been made more welcome by the staff. We’ve an autistic son so to say we were apprehensive about coming would be an understatement. Would like to give a special thank you to Beth for supplying him with what seemed like an endless supply of crisps - whilst serving others! Fantastic and would definitely recommend.

Great afternoon. The bar staff were amazing, especially Beth ,and Chris were so helpful, and nothing was any trouble they made us feel most welcome and very polite and true professionals to there roles [thank you ] Food was amazing and well priced. Kids portions were spot on. The drink price was of the range these days and of good quality. And the best thing of all was kids can Rome free on the climbing frame ship at the bottom of the garden (yey peace time lol sort of lol) Thank you so much to the kitchen staff for all there hard work in making the most delicious food,you nailed it. Arrived early lunch time to a server who couldnt even break her mobile phone call to greet us or take to a table .Ordered two portions scampi and chips which were very tasty but plated by a chef who had no idea on presentation .As it was such a hot day ee asked for a large bottle of sparkling water but alas none in stock so ordered 2 pints of lime and soda cost an astronomical £2.75 for a glass with more ice than soda .Such a shame as it has great potential but let down by poor staffing and stock control .

Food was great, had the fish and chips and the batter was so delicious. Service was a bit slow considering it wasn’t particularly busy. Now the only thing I have an issue with is the service charges added on the end. Couldn’t see anything on the website about this. I would rather pay a bit extra for the food than for this to be added onto the end of the bill without knowing beforehand especially when you may only have a certain amount to spend.

I cannot thank Colin and his wonderful team at The Blue Ball enough for all their hard work in making my 40th Birthday party what it was. Colin and Janice were extremely accommodating right from the date I made the booking a few months back and did everything they could to make sure the event was everything I'd hoped it would be on the actual day. The staff are fantastic, the food delicious and the atmosphere amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a night I will never forget. See you very soon for another of your beautiful roast dinners 🥰

Sunday lunch looked and tasted as it jwas brought in frozen food. Landlord was over familiar with younger female members of our group, he was to over friendly,l we felt uncomfortable in his presents. Course of the landlord wouldn’t visit again, which is a shame. Have seen other comments that landlord was I appropriate with younger customers.

Great pub with huge windows overlooking the back garden, perfect with kids as you can keep an eye in a little play area while sitting inside the pub. Although limited choice of mains but the quality of food was great and good service and atmosphere, will definitely be going back.

We recently celebrated our birthday at The Blue Ball Tadworth Pub, and it was an absolute delight! The staff was exceptional, always available and accommodating to our needs. A lovely modern country pub in a Surrey village.

We had lunch for five - age range 14 to 67. Everyone was very happy. Really it was fine dining in a pub setting.

Group of 7 went for lunch. Shown to our table then seemingly forgotten about. Ordered drinks at the bar. Eventually politely got the attention of the waitress who arrived at our table with not so much as a hello or smile. Took our order whilst chewing gum! Starters good were good, arrived promptly and everyone enjoyed. Mains however took a little longer and a child's main was missing. By time it came out we had already finished and said child had shared an adults food which was just aswell as hers was well overcooked and not really edible. I think an apology was given but nothing offered as an attempt to rectify this. These things happen I do understand that but overall the service was poor and we won't be returning.

Great staff, seating outdoors, good drink selection, all good

Great service and delicious food. Each aspect of the roast had been thoroughly thought out and seasoned impeccably, best carrots I've had for example. We will definitely return. One point for improvement was that the vegetarian roast option was lacking, the flavours didn't really match a roast dinner but it tasted good as an independent item.

Went here Easter Sunday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised as had been here a couple of times a few years ago and the experience was not great . However , had heard they had a new manager and new Chef and have to say it was a great lunch. A good combination of great food with good service and an attentive friendly manager . We will definitely go back .

I have visited The Blue Ball several times recently as I have moved in to the area. The service and quality of the food yesterday prompted me to leave a review. There are young people working there who display a maturity, confidence and pride in their work which is rarely seen in the hospitality industry nowadays and on that note, I would like to thank our lovely waitress Katie who impressed me so much that I asked her name. The food (Sunday roast) was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was so lovely to enjoy. My friend also mentioned how lovely it was not to feel rushed, even though the restaurant was very busy. What a find, what a gem. I highly recommend you visit - I knwo you won't be disappointed!

The service was poor, the manager’s behaviour was wholly inappropriate for a public venue and I would not recommend this pub restaurant unless it was being hosted for a Bernard Manning convention.

We recently booked the dining area for a large party and were under the understanding that we would have the whole area until close. We were moved after two hours to the bar area despite the area being empty afterwards. The food was acceptable although it was certainly not worth the price that was paid. The most concerning part of the evening however, was the manager Colin who was very inappropriate and derogatory towards my wife and daughter unbeknownst to me at the time. There were many explicit comments made about the girls in my family some of whom were young girls and he made a lot of the women in our party incredibly uncomfortable. I am incredibly disappointed with the overall experience and we will not be returning. We will never be using this pub in the future future.

Left a review around 6 months ago for here and it was ok had a few drinks with friends and family on lovely sunny day. Decided to go back for the quiz on Tuesday... Do not know what happened but the barman who is from Brazil must of had a really bad day as I have never encountered anyone so miserable in my life.. Food was mediocre. Quizz was good and the Irish bloke doing it was great... Shame we will not be going back..

Stopped for a pint to meet some work colleagues Guinness was beautifully kept. Really good looking pub 👍

A bit slow with food coming out

Party of 30 on Sunday .. pre booked with food order sent.. our roast .. chicken👍🏻 Roast potatoes and parsnips were so cremated they were impossible to cut, wet floppy Yorkshire pudding all floating in greasy thin gravy. Bowls of cabbage plentiful. Chocolate brownie tasted like cake mixture all saved by ice cream .. Did not over complain due to respect of our hosts. (Did send the potatoes and parsnips back) Staff did their best to be helpful. Would not recommend.

Food was first class ! Staff were so attentive. Went for a birthday for my son in law .Will definitely be going back

Spacious pub in a nice spot. Went for Sunday lunch, unfortunately the food was disappointing and the service left a lot to be desired. Yorkshire pudding was missing from the vegetarian roast despite asking for it specifically. It arrived mid way through the meal burnt to a crisp - would have imploded like a basketball made of glass at the slightest touch from a knife. Also it seemed the carrots met the oven for a brief interaction, very hard. The fish and chips lacked chips and was served with approx. 11 peas. Would recommend for drinks, but the food is sub par.

We booked Christmas Day lunch for a change to normally cooking Christmas Day ,and I much say it was a great choice ! We were greeted with a really warm festive cosy atmosphere lots of smiles The starters were not big but tasty which was good because the turkey roast which I chose was huge delivered hot lots of vegetables choice We enjoyed every minute of the day and will definitely repeat thanks to all the staff 👍

Congratulations to Colin and his team for making our New Year's Eve celebrations special. On arrival we were greeted with canapés, bubbly and then seated. The service was excellent, food was hot and delicious. The team were constantly on hand and checking that everything was ok. We were entertained by Wayne Woodward interspersed by disco music and everyone was dancing. The atmosphere was friendly and everyone had a great time. Well done to all of you!

Very disappointing as most of the food tasted like it was reheated rather than prepared fresh. I had ordered a small portion of fish and chips. I was surprised to receive a fish the size of a minnow in batter and peas that looked like a week old. My partner’s vegetarian meal was unpleasant but he was hungry so had no choice but to eat it. The pub itself was warm and inviting. I would not normally write a review and especially a negative one in this instance but the food was so bad that I needed to inform you.

Lovely place and food well worth a visit

Awful awful awful .. had the most terrible Christmas Day … the one time we can actually get together and this was meant to take the stress out of one person cooking . Table for 8 6 adults 2 children . Table wasn’t ready at 3 - no problem - understand it’s busy …. Sat down . Table wiped eventually - left soaked …. No cutlery , no napkins , no drinks … 3:40 ……. Drinks finally bought over. 3;50 asked any idea when food may come - what desserts ? I was asked - no starters I replied .. apologies all round - asked if we were all chilled and not stressed - well no not really Hubby had a quiet word .. starters came - less than great but small …. Still no cutlery …. Crackers were now given . Kids aged 5 and 7 getting very hungry .. they had no spoons for soup still …. Main courses 4:30 - the kids plates were the same size as ours . I bowl of veg between all of us …. The beef was so tough - all left or sent back . Manager called again and was very apologetic . We declined desserts and coffee .. we didn’t receive the canapés at the beginning - as we sat down too early. ??? Ruined our day . All starving hungry and £100 quid down on cabs - had to go home to cook food . Manager was very apologetic and sorted our bill but it leads me to say - please restaurants / pubs - don’t get greedy at Christmas - it can simple ruin a day - Christmas Day too / family day…. I left tips for the waiting staff as not their fault and their Christmas Day too .. such a terrible shame . I could go on more but I’ve made my point .

Staff are great and under payed!

Booked for dinner. Half the menu had sold out. Some of the meals had items missing or substituted. Not really worth waiting for either. Was told the chef was having a meltdown. Very professional!!! Was charged for food we never ordered! Won't be returning.

A lovely pub. We've been there a couple of times recently. The food was really tasty and arrived quickly. We'll definitely be going back.

A very friendly gastro pub open to all incl. Dogs and children. Should be easy to get a table during the week. Management has changed but the pub at the moment hasn't. Serving a very nice rhubarb cider at the moment Timothy Taylors Landlord was good tonight but no Rosies Pig and not much more of a choice.

The best pub in Walton on the Hill. The service is friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Dogs are welcome but don't seems to get in the way. We really enjoyed our outing to the Blue Ball and the local walks are beautiful

Sunday lunch Nice pub, staff are very friendly & nice Four people for Sunday lunch. 2 beef @ £19.25 & 2 pork @ £17.50. For price there is far too little meat. Beef only had 2 slices should of been 3 & pork had a small round amount both meats must be around 120g so not adult portions & pork reasonably cheap Not sure if we’re come again other pubs local same price but much more meat & vegetables

I ordered haddock and chips for me (ok but not exceptional) and (as advised by the waitress) chicken and asparagus pie for my partner. We were not advised anything (the waitress said she knew nothing) but the pie had been changed to a beef pie, which seemed old and tough. Not acceptable.

We have just had there mega roast well it was amazing so much food it was great we are stuffed now just having a few pints to finish a lovely afternoo

I was excited to see a vegetarian roast dinner on the menu but it was disappointing. Roast potatoes were old and chewy and there was no yorkshire pudding :( Next to the meat roast it looked sad and like an after thought.

This is the first time I have organised a business event at the Blue Ball. Janice, who is the Event’s Organiser, kept in constant contact and was incredibly easy to work with, friendly and super efficient. There were over 50 guests with a speaker who was on a time schedule. Everything worked perfectly, all my requirements were met, the food was delicious - we were given a choice from 4 different main courses and desserts. A microphone was provided, the fire in the room - divided off from the front of the pub - was glowing and cosy and everyone had a great time. I must also mention the manager and the serving staff, who behaved professionally and in a friendly way throughout. Congratulations to the fantastic chef who provided aged roast beef with enormous Yorkshire puddings, salmon, chicken and vegetarian for over 50 people. Plus, of course, delicious puddings and desserts.

I booked to have a Sunday roast with my family, however, the restaurant was so noisy with kids and dogs running around, and adults shouting and swearing, totally ruined the ambience! The food was disappointing, had run out of some of our choices and was cold! The service was great, very friendly, but the whole experience was ruined! Have been in the past and always thought what a lovely country pub this was!

Didn’t book a table in advance so wasn’t sure they could seat us…. We were greeted with a warm welcome and told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table - perfect whilst we had a drink. The bar service was good and the glasses chilled … a nice cold beer ! We sat in the main dining room which has double aspect big windows, lovely and bright with a nice central fire. We all had roast chicken with was plentiful and Delicious. Service was very good, attentive but not too much, a nice balance …. Will definitely return!

Lovely Sunday lunch outside in glorious weather today. Made all the better by the outstanding service we got. All the staff, and the manager, were lovely but stand out was Tom. He was engaging, cared about getting the order right, knew his menu and seemed like an all-around good guy. Food was lovely as were the surroundings. Will be making it a monthly occurrence.

We were a family party of 10( including three young children )who have just had Sunday lunch at the Blue Ball- 8/10/23. The food was amazing and so much on each plate. We had a mix of roasts, fish and chips, veggie Wellington and three children’s meals( 2x fish and chips and 1x burger). So lovely to be able to sit outside as the weather was really warm and sunny. There’s a large seating area inside and out and a children’s play area. Our server Antonios couldn’t do enough for us and was on the go the whole time making sure we had drinks and enquiring as to how the food was. He had a really happy friendly manner too. In fact all the staff were very friendly. We were able to spend as much time there as we wanted and never felt rushed.I definitely recommend the Blue Ball and we are all looking forward to going back.

Best roast I've had out anywhere, good quality food which was cooked to perfection. It was a busy Sunday when we went and staff were difficult to get hold of at times, but it's to be expected on a busy Sunday and the staff that served us were all very polite and helpful. Would definitely go back here without any hesitation!

I think we must have come on a bad day. Apart from a really warm welcome for our dog, much appreciated. We were presented with clearly frozen chips, frozen peas and very average scampi. Plonked on a plate. Zero presentation. Looked like a school dinner! Rather disappointed. Didn’t think to take a photo…..

We had a family Sunday lunch of 19 adults and children. Janice is the event organiser and she was very efficient in her dealings with us. Booking, sending the menu, pre-orders and present on the day. The food was hot and delicious also the service was excellent. A happy time was had by us all.

The Blue Ball went above and beyond to the last detail to make sure my husband's 50th birthday party event was a night to remember! We all had the most amazing time, shared with family and close friends and we can't thank Janice, Tony and their team enough for everything they did. The buffet was exceptional and definitely not your typical standard buffet! They liaised with me continuously over the months to make sure they had our buffet choice, (they also made adjustments to cater for our family who are vegan etc) our music list through Spotify for the night, drinks on arrival for our guests and decorations I wanted to put up etc We are so glad that we chose The Blue Ball for our event because they definitely exceeded our expectations! Thank you once again for making it a night to always remember!

A very busy Sunday lunch time. Waited half an hour for food which was just warm and dull. Staff were pleasant. Village is charming. Won't be back to eat.

I came on a weekday lunch time as I'm trying to train my dog to get use to settling in public places and I know its a dog friendly pub. The lovely waitress sat me down and got a water bowl for my dog. I ordered the 3 for £12 small plates and they were delicious, highly recommend the brie bites and haddock goujons. Rudy my pup was also given some treats. It was quiet but it was a Monday lunch time. Beautiful pub and beautiful setting. It can get busy I have driven past many times. I'm so glad I went, we had a really good experience and my dog did well settling lol. Thank you, Rudy and I will be back!

Popped in for a quick pint, Heineken very well kept and reasonably priced for the area. Warm day so the garden was well used by families but the bar was empty for the same reason. Large car park and outdoor smoking area.

Great for kids! There is a beer garden and play area in the back with ladders, a slide, and a bridge for kids as well as lots of room to run around. Chips are great. Otherwise, food was fine.

Went for Sunday Lunch with the kids and we had a fantastic meal. One of the best roast dinners we have had in a pub and will be coming back for the roast chicken. Great outdoors space where we could let the kids run about while we enjoyed our pudding

Good choice of beers for me and I liked the cold glasses. Enjoyed my prawn sandwich too.

Service was non existent. We thought we had to go up and order at the till as waited so long. Waited a long time for meal. Garlic bread not even warm. Salad dressing tasteless. Lasagne unpleasant consistency. At end went up to the till to pay as no one came to our table and it wasn't at all busy.

We've been to The Blue Ball several times in the afternoon after a dog walk on the heath. The service is always excellent and the food is delicious. They are very welcoming to dogs and have made us a bowl of sausages for them on more than one occasion. There is small play area for children in the beer garden and also covered boothes along the side of the pub if you want a little privacy. Great pub. 👍
