Always fabulous food and lovely friendly staff. Hands down my favourite lunch places in the area. The standard and quality of food is so high and the prices are very reasonable. My fave is the superfood salad which is packed full of so many, very fresh, tasty ingredients. It feels like such a yummy treat but it's also soooo healthy. My mother in law had the croque madame and said it was the tastiest she'd had. Well done Fego. Keep doing what you're doing so very well!

Lovely buzz in the morning. Fantastic menu and the food is great. Service is fast and friendly. Sitting at the back atrium area was very peaceful and really enjoyed my breakfast in the sunlight. Will be going back for lunch.

Have eaten at Fego since it opened and remember the days of evening opening lovely cosy atmosphere and good menu always busy which is nice for atmosphere , waitresses/waiters always friendly and helpful must say I’ve noticed the management over the years has a quick turn around and to echoe someone else’s comment on here the current one seems to need a lesson in how to talk to his staff , very abrupt and came across stroppy with the staff in such a small place this gets noticed more by customers ! If you want happy staff speak to them how you wish to be spoken to !

I've only got take-aways so far but I go with the dog I look after because they're dog friendly, one of the only dog-friendly in the town. He is a very well-behaved Labrador and they always make a fuss of him and usually give him a treat, so no wonder he loves it there! I love the décor while we wait for the take-away. But the food is always amazing. The breakfast muffin was gorgeous but it's no longer on the menu, so the Croque Madame is now my choice and it's incredible! I recommend the potato cakes as a side dish and also the fresh smoothies. I had a super greens one, it was really nice but also gets in a veg portion! I just love this place. The food is always fantastic. Next I will come and dine in and will do another review once I've dined in

We often have deliveroo from this restaurant and in person dining. Good, tasty food. Well worth giving it a try. Recommended

I got to say after reading the reviews on here I’m very surprised, as I went in for breakfast on Sunday, and was told we would have to wait 45 minutes for food! So both of us had a latte each as well as an orange juice while waiting. As we were still waiting I ordered another latte. Eventually to full English turned up, toast was stone cold and rock hard, and the breakfast wasn’t much to write home about, I actually didn’t eat all of mine as most of it was cold. But to be charged £59.97? For 2 cold breakfast and no complimentary drinks for waiting so long? No thank you! £60 is far to much! Maybe next time there’s a 45 minute wait for breakfast try offering free drinks while waiting, and make sure food is hot and tasty when it does eventually come out! I wouldn’t have minded the bill if the food was nice. Other than that waitresses were lovely, very attentive.

How very disappointing to return today to what was our favourite place for brunch. Whilst the waitresses were polite and efficient , the atmosphere was awful.The staff were constantly being spoken down to by whom I assume was the manager, barking order's whilst spending most of his time starring at his phone, The food was overpriced, took forever to arrive despite our waitress chasing the order up. The whole cafe has gone to pot, you have some wonderful staff who you should invest in rather than bark orders at. Unfortunately We wont be returning.

The last couple of weeks the service is so slow and so unorganised, the food is great but it’s such a shame it used to be very efficient and much more welcoming, I hope fego’s do get this sorted out as it puts people off going :(

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant today. The food was outrageously overpriced for what it was, failing to justify the high cost in any conceivable way. To make matters worse, the restaurant employs a rather coercive and misleading payment system. They ask customers to pay via a QR code on their phone, which automatically includes an extortionate 12.5% service charge. This "optional" service charge cannot be removed unless you specifically call a waiter, a process that feels intentionally cumbersome as most people won't go through the hassle of asking for it to be taken off. What is even more deceptive is that after reluctantly agreeing to this service charge, the system then asks if you want to add an additional tip over and above the service charge already being paid. This practice is downright manipulative and leaves a very sour taste. It’s evident that this restaurant views its customers merely as cash machines rather than valued patrons. Overall, I felt exploited and will not be returning to this restaurant. If you value your hard-earned money and a straightforward dining experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Very good all day breakfast, chips excellent, portion sizes reasonable and nice atmosphere. Polite and friendly staff.

I have been going to fegos religiously for a long time it was my favourite place to eat untill I went there this morning and watched the chef whips his nose and the sweat off his forehead with his bare hands then straight after proceeded to pick up someone’s avocado with the same hands. His hygiene is disgusting and I will never return to fegos in Banstead again.

Always a good choice for a decent brunch. It was particularly busy today so service wasn't great but the food was still to a high standard.

Just not worth the price. Very average food with a hefty price tag. Wrap didn't even come with chips or a bit of salad.

Fabulous breakfast, exceptional quality ingredients and truly lovely staff. As a man that eats breakfast out at least 5 days a week this place is my first choice when in Banstead.

We had a lovely brunch today , it was my daughter’s birthday 🎂 and they made it extra special by giving her a cake and candle . It was our first time here , but certainly not our last . Thank you 😊

Massively disappointed! And for a few reasons! 1. Having visited as a special treat, whilst our primary waitress was nice enough, the food and service really wasn’t. We waited 45 minutes for a wrap and ciabatta and one chips and had to ask a number of times how long it would be as we were limited on parking. I don’t ever expect to wait that long for two such simple dishes and it wasn’t even that busy. 2. The Fego Ciabatta and small chips cost something like 11.95 and 4.50 - add the compulsory 10% tip on and you’re talking over £18! That’s just ridiculous and massively overpriced! 3. The cornflake chicken spicy wrap was awful. It was a wrap with a couple of pieces of coated chicken in it with loads of chilli jam I think and a slice of lettuce. On writing this review I still have a stomach ache from eating it. 4. The compulsory tip! We were brought by the waiting staff our food. End of. I’ve absolutely no objection to paying a tip wherever I go, but to put it automatically on a bill for two when quite frankly the whole experience has been more than unacceptable, I do not agree with this. I appreciate it wasn’t our waitresses fault exactly but I just don’t think it right that service is not something you have pleasure in paying because you feel the service is good. Not a compulsory must pay in what I felt was a totally overpriced experience. In summary, I have to say I won’t be returning. I only ever write glowing reviews but I felt compelled to write this because I felt this experience was more than unacceptable and I hope as a result you look closely at your processes and consider reviewing them for others.

Food can be good with interesting choices but not always..they have a tendency to under-season. The service is mixed. On my last visit the male waiter was incredibly rude. He not only didn't make me feel welcome but actively made me feel unwelcome and I have no idea why. He was dismissive and rude and I haven't returned since to this place.

Venturing into the realm of African breakfast cuisine for the first time left me pleasantly surprised. The fusion of Mocha with Belgian chocolate was a delightful indulgence, offering a rich and satisfying flavor profile. Coupled with the serene ambiance and picturesque surroundings, the overall dining experience was truly exceptional.

Really great place to visit and have lunch. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the food and really felt at home in the friendly atmosphere.

Pleasant when you can get there. How ever they are unreliable as to when they stop serving and they run out of some dishes rather easily.

In love with Fego Banstead! Delightful, innovative and varied menu (I want to try every dish!), top quality food, great atmosphere. Really hope they can open at least one day in the evening with the same day menu and wine! It will be a magnificent addition to Banstead High Street.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Fego Restaurant’s on Deliveroo, and I must say, the Korean Chicken Sandwich was a delightful surprise. The chicken was tender and flavorful, with a subtle blend of spices that was a refreshing change from the usual fiery Korean fare. Although the sandwich arrived slightly cool, it was still thoroughly enjoyable. The bun, despite having not travelled well, complemented the chicken well. The fries were a standout—arriving hot and seasoned to perfection once I added a dash of pepper. I hope some rosemary fries join the menu soon. The iced vanilla latte was the perfect accompaniment, offering a cool, sweet balance to the meal. Overall, the delivery from Fego Restaurant left a lasting impression, and I’m eagerly anticipating my next order!

Popped in for brunch. Even on a Tuesday morning the restaurant was buzzing. We were seated quickly and service was prompt. Great selection of food. Nice surroundings. Good coffee. Food was delicious. Could have happily sat there all afternoon. Will certainly be back 😀

On a number of cases, i had to ask twice for the same thing. A highchair, the whereabouts of my coffee, the menu. The staff weren't friendly, and then they add a tip onto your bill at the end. I wouldn't recommend, so many other nicer places in Barnstead.

Lovely restaurant and a great alternative to Chai. Better god here with a S African vibe. The mushroom toast and the breakfast tacos were lovely! Will definitely recommend and go back!

Love the menu here as they serve different versions of a cooked breakfast. The portions were good. Unfortunately, the place is very popular, so if you are arriving on a late weekend morning, you may find either a long wait for a table or not be lucky. You can't book either. We were told that our table would be ready in 15 mins - we waited 35 mins and then another 45 min wait to be served and the food to arrive! That said, the food is delicious and well presented. It is probably the most expensive place in Banstead to have breakfast too.

Had the morning to myself (first time in about 30 years) so went to get breakfast. Sat in the comfortable seats at the back near the kitchen. The kitchen had a radio on and the restaurant had its music system on. These had two different sets of music playing. It was early and really unrelaxing. I complained, and the kitchen radio was turned down briefly. In the end as they clearly didn’t care, I left without ordering.

Sunday morning breakfast was 10/10 We didn’t book and we’re told it would be a 20 minute wait but they got us in within 5. The range and quality of food was fantastic We’ll be back for sure

Be aware that when the restaurant is busy, you may need to wait a bit (not only for a table, but food too), but it's worth it. Freshly made food and drinks - not defrosted and warmed up in the microwave! Definitely recommend 👌

Very lovely café! The food was very tasty and the service was very fast and efficient.

The atmosphere is lovely, the front of house lady was great. The food presentation was lovely, but unfortunately, my partners lunch, which was Korean Burger, was cold. The front of the house [FofH)dealt with matter straight away, but unfortunately, upon the new meal coming back, the chilli /garnish & size of the chicken was notable smaller. The FofH did not allow us to pay or contribute towards the bill & was extremely apologetic. We will go back due to service & hopefully the food will be banging.

Not bad Went with the family for a Sunday brunch expecting high standards and great atmosphere. Unfortunately whilst the atmosphere was great and the team were lovely. The food was just okay. Milkshakes were really good coffee really good but the food was somewhat average and I wouldn’t rush to go back, however no specific complaints

This is undoubtedly a good place to eat for many. Always popular, great menu and friendly service. Sadly my whole experience was ruined by a chef who sat in the centre of the restaurant with a hacking cough, very off putting! Even more so when he entered the visible kitchen and continued to cough into his hand then handle food directly with no sign of his hands being washed - this happened many times. Put me totally off my meal which sadly went mostly uneaten under the circumstances. Surely it’s not hygienic or acceptable! If this goes on openly what’s happening in the areas you can’t see! I’ll not be visiting again.

Ordered from here for the first time. Delivery driver must have lost half my order on route as portion size was minimal at best. Won’t be ordering again.

Had a great breakfast with my siblings at Fego. I went with the Full South African breakfast (grilled Boerewors sausages, poached eggs, roasted baby plum tomatoes, mushrooms, butter beans, Mrs Balls chutney, and toasted chimichurri sourdough) with Cappuccino coffee. Whilst my sister went with with the hearty Ranchero breakfast (poached eggs, sautéed potatoes, chorizo, mushroom, jalapeños, chilli, peppers, smashed avocado, crispy onions, relish, and peppadew / coriander yoghurt). Very nice and filling. A great start to the day.

Fego food not the same as it was. It's ashame tbh. I ordered 3 pancakes with sausage and bacon. Items not placed very well on plate. 1 pancake was slightly raw/uncooked inside.

3 of us ordered scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms on the side for an extra £2.95. Food arrived and we were given 1 small mushroom each. We complained to the staff (who incidentally were absolutely lovely and really embarrassed) who reported to us that they had already informed head office about customer complaints. They kindly took the price of the mushrooms off our meals. It is absolutely disgusting and I feel so sorry for the professional polite waitresses who served us.

Food is ok, but has gone downhill over the last year. Overly priced for not very much and not very high quality. Style over substance. It’s a shame as the place is nice, staff are always good - but won’t be going back. Maple syrup should be standard with pancakes (which are tiny by the way - the same size as the two you get in the kids menu so probably worth ordering that instead), not one of the three items you’re paying for.

The food was OK but I think the staff is overwhelmed at lunch. As it gets busy at lunch they should staff their restaurant with more waiters.

Appeared to be very short staffed so we had to wait ages for service, then again for food and drinks. Finally the food arrived and we then had to ask for cutlery and napkins, which again took a long time. Food was ok, price was ok, but probably wouldn’t go back because it wasn’t particularly clean and the service was not good enough.

To say that I was disappointed doesn’t really cover it. Food was okay but the restaurant itself is tired and grubby. Doubt it’s been cleaned properly in a very long time. Furniture has deep set stains.

This is potentially the worst restaurant I have ever been too, the service is slow , the food is ridiculously over priced for a small luke warm fry up, I had to get my own breakfast from the serving area as the staff walked past it 5 times, the kitchen I observed were using there hands yo plate up pre cooked bacon and eggs, absolutely no customer service, will never go there again, the owners should be ashamed of the dross they serve but even more ashamed of the prices they charge for vile food

Best salad ever! Lovely restaurant decorated in lively colors - good service and menu that’s very friendly to non meat eaters. My friend and I both ordered a salad that was loaded with interest and flavor - figs, pesto, goat cheese etc. It was amazing! Who knew salad could be so scrumptious? The side of fries were a tasty compliment.

Disgusting and very expensive for what you get half of mushroom half of small tomtoe and want to change you 4 pounds for the mushroom and 3 pounds for the half tomtoe and give you half pieces of toast with my two eggs and change me 7 95 and when I contained the waiter laughter at me I should not of paid but did very unhappy

Visited for Breakfast, the portions were child size, I asked for tomatoes with scrambled eggs and I received half a cherry tomato for £1,50 what an insult. I will never return.

Went with my sis in laws for a catch up and breakfast well all I can say is the catch was short and sweet!!! The only thing sweet about it was our lovely get together the short part about it was we couldn't get out there quick enough!!! Our breakfast was terrible, scramble egg on toast and half a tomato I ordered the scrambled eggs along with my sis in law we both asked for a side order of tomatoes when it arrived the scrambled egg was made out of one egg no milk and we received half a grilled tomato!!!!!!! And to add insult the cost for the half tomato cherry size too was a extra £1.50 what a absolute joke I will never return to this so called restaurant total rip off I do know places have overheads, but this is joke unless you want to go to a place leave hungry and cost a fortune avoid!!!!!

This place was actually a surprisingly nice place to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The main reason I've not been able to give it the full 5 stars is because they didn't have quite a few of the things (food and drinks) on the menu available which was a bit annoying but also, the food was quite expensive for what it was - some nice eggs. Nonetheless, the food was actually very good and despite the price, did thoroughly enjoy it, will likely go back again at some point in the future!

Mediterranean breakfast for the win!

Been here before and it was an okay experience. Today wasn’t great at all, whilst the staff are friendly and polite, it all seems chaotic and no one seems to really have a grasp on where they are needed most. Seems worse when they at busy. The food was cold and average this time, we ordered a club sandwich (although we overheard after that there was no bacon) no one came back to tell us there was no bacon so the club came without and no one mentioned anything, avocado was almost black. The Salt beef bagel, cheese wasn’t melted and the beef was dry and chewy. For almost £20 a head it wasn’t great, I doubt I’d recommend it go back soon. Which is all a shame cause there are occasions where the food is great and it’s perfect for the small high street with very few brunch/lunch options

Went there with family friends and 5 dogs and took 30 minutes for 5 plates of food ! The dogs enjoyed it but it was very slow Only gave 3 stars since of the food was very nice Hopefully when come back again service is quicker

Always a friendly welcome and good service: food was excellent today and full of flavour. The juices were particularly nice, the left one being The Trajner with lots of fruit, kale and chilli.

Food was great service was slow and you can't take the 12.5% service charge off without asking even though it's meant to be discretionary.

The food is amazing but it’s gone downhill in terms of cleanliness. The ladies toilet door is a health hazard sadly and the cushions you sit on are filthy. It really needs a makeover and thorough deep clean. It’s such a shame as I’ve been using the cafe for several years because of its excellent service and amazing menu!
