So...£520 for two nights. Attitude from guy on reception on arrival. Quite unpleasant. Convo... "Whit dae ye want fur breakfast tomorrow" "What do you serve?" "Breakfast stuff...standard" "Like what?" "Don't know, never seen what they offer" "I'm not sure just now" "Do you know when you want breakfast, it's just just we're busy" (How is you being busy my problem?) "Dinner tonight, do you know what time?, it's just we're busy" "Not sure...is 1830 okay?" "We'll squeeze you in" Restaurant was 30- 50% full at 1830 Room. Basic. No fridge, no air con, basic telly channels, washed out bedding. Mattress is good if you like poorly inflated airbed or half filled water bed. Coffee selection terrible (2 sachets between 2) no water or anything like that...basically basic. No safe. No toiletries. Hand wash in the bath as shower gel. Decor, think 1970s posing as classic. Will try breakfast tomorrow. Here for two nights but might just go home tomorrow evening so I can be somewhere more comfortable (hotels are supposed to be equally or better than where you live. This isn't. Feels budget but for premium cost). Out of 5 I give it 2. I travel a lot for work and stay in hotels quite a lot. I'm just being honest. I wouldn't stay here again. Sorry Grange Manor, but you're a bit poor

I go to The Grange hotel most Sundays with my husband and we usually have salads for our lunch, but I decided to have the steak pie for a change. It came with chips, carrots and peas. When I cut into the steak it fell apart and it melted in my mouth. My husband had the chicken goujons with boiled potatoes and salad and this was also very good. You can get the main courses with chips or potatoes, salad or vegetables. The staff are very good too.

I don’t know where to start with this review . I’m being generous with the one star only because you can’t give none. The room was unbelievably dirty , stained sheets , pubic hairs in the bed , stained walls . The last occupier left food on the window . We stayed two hours and couldn’t stand the stench of the room.

Whilst the hotel is a bit dated it parts we enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfy, room was clean, and we had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The staff were nice and the food ok. We thought it was good value for money but agree with other visitors that the showers could do with more attention to prevent mould.

Came for family Sunday lunch. Was fairly quiet when we arrived but got busier but food still took 45 minutes to arrive. Meat was nice, veggies were a bit soggy and we did actually have to ask what something was (it was roasted carrot). We had a vegetarian in our party and there was nothing on offer (you have to pre-book vegetarian apparently) so ended up with a plain Quorn fillet....nothing on it at all!!! The deserts made up for the main course as these were lovely. Not sure I will be going back again.

Pleasant surroundings, if just a tad old-fashioned, but that's not a criticism. It makes a pleasant change to those chains of food pubs that are all much of a muchness as far as interior decor is concerned. Service is prompt and discrete. The food was imaginative and excellent. My husband and i have visited the Grange a number of times and have never had a bad meal. The staff are always attentive and smart in appearance. The cheese burger is lovely and the homemade coleslaw is great (although I would like more of it!). The only down side of the burger is that they have started to serve it on a wooden platter and not on a plate as they used to. My husband always likes the ham salad baguette and adds the soup for an extra £1.50, which is very good value for money ( you can also have chips instead of soup). The chicken coujons are great too. I would recommend this place for anyone to go to and hopefully after all the new roadworks are finished people will be able to get to it easier.

The Grange is not an easy place to get to as the ongoing roadwork on the M8/A8/A725 lead to persistent long delays on the Bellshill bypass and at Shawhead flyover. However our last few Sunday lunches at this venue have been very enjoyable so we decided to brave the traffic. The delay on the A725 was almost unbearable and we nearly turned back, as things turned out perhaps we should have taken this step?On arrival we were shown promptly to a window table with a nice view across the Clyde valley. This was possible as the venue was much quieter than usual. Three members of staff in the bar area seemed not to have a lot to do and we were provided with menus quickly, our drink orders were taken and not a lot happened for a while.Given the quietness of the restaurant the long delay in the drinks arriving and our order being taken seemed surprising. My partner had to capture one of the waiting staff passing and ask for our drinks again, not the best start to our meal.I ordered the chicken curry with a side of fries and the good lady opted for her favorite Chilli con carne. Not long after the dishes appeared, I was delighted to see chunky lumps of cubed chicken in a spicy sauce , topped with a serving of crisp prawn crackers and lovely crispy dry fries. Just what the doctor ordered.I should have noticed at this stage that my wife was moving her fork around the tomato sauce of her dish and looking a little puzzled. when she asked me for an impromptu translation of " Chilli con Carne" I suggested that I understood it to be minced beef in a tomato and chilli sauce with Kidney beans! The problem was that my wife could find no kidney beans whatsoever amongst the sauce and eventually gave up looking for anything that might have been minced beef. The sauce was tasty so she dipped her Doritos in it and scooped up the boiled rice. She absolutely denied me the opportunity to bring this disappointment of a meal to the attention of the staff citing it as truly embarrassing. What a contrast between my well prepared meal with a hearty serving of good food and this strange concoction! As we ate our excellent desserts ( Sticky toffee pudding and hot custard) we examined the possibilities and had a laugh. The winning theory was that in the kitchen there was a large pot of perfectly good Chilli con carne but the serving brought to us had been taken off the top and most of the ingredients were at the bottom? Surely Colleges teach chefs to stir these days?Ant way the Grange slipped well down the league table this time. At just under £25 for food and drinks it would have been good value with the provision of mince in the chilli!

Bought my in-laws a Groupon as a gift to celebrate a milestone birthday. Table was reserved one week in advance & despite this were asked on arrival how long they intended to remain, which indicated Groupon diners are being treated as 2nd class. After the meal they decided to have another drink before leaving & were then asked to vacate their table in favour of other diners. Others be warned... If you buy a Groupon for this establishment don't expect to have your custom appreciated. Needless to say there won't be any of us returning there.

Twice I have been with my partner recently having the same thing and the second time around we were at least £10 more expensive. We didn't stay at the hotel but went there for the food. They don't have a "restaurant" as such, more a lounge/bar where you can have some pub grub. Saying that, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and we were served quickly. The food wasn't fine dining, but as expected from pub grub, it was well prepared and tasty, with good sized portions. The menu had just enough choices to satisfy most palates. The atmosphere is reasonable and the bar seems to be used by locals or people staying at the hotel itself. The only thing which let it down slightly was the fact that the ladies toilets are up a flight of stairs. There is a disabled toilet, which is a bit shabby but functional, although I can't see many disabled people being able to actually get into the hotel, due to the steps at the front. Still good food at reasonable prices. Good if you fancy a good no fuss meal.

Visited the grange hotel for some dinner... Had a table booked.Drinks order was taken promptly. The restaurant was busy, however wasn't rushed off its feet. It was 6pm on Sat... I ordered the potato skins ... I did asked for cheese over these, however was told as the kitchen was too busy this might not be able to be accommodated. I did question this as it was only sprinkling cheese over a plate, she did say she would have to check with the kitchen. My starter arrived and no cheese or even an apology that this simplistic request could not be accommodated. The skins were ok, however slightly dry and lacking I. Quantity .... My main was a burger - I went for the Mexican burger... Lacking onion rings ... 2 small rings and a little salsa.... And.... A tiny bit of cheese. The burger was tasty, however more of the above may have helped....One thing that the staff didn't ask was how was your staters... How was your mains which I feel would have been standard and an opportunity for me to engage these suggestions.Value for money ... 4/5Service 2/5Portion size 3/5

I arrived at the coffee place, haven't been there before. When we walked in the door, a parade of parents were leaving with buggies etc, as I was coming in carrying my 11 month old and my 4 year old walked ahead - as they do - I called to him as he charged ahead and said 'we have to go order lunch, and pay first' he followed me into the cafe where I ordered his kids lunchbox meal, and a coffee and cake for myself (which came to £13.95, I assumed that included the sandpit - which is £4) I advised, I was going to the sandpit but i was a little early, the staff replied it was open as they'd just been down and cleaned after the last session so if I went down, they'd bring my order down. Wasn't even down there 5 minutes, and a very rude girl came yelling at the door, (I was standing in the sandpit, there was 2 other families In as well may I add) 'you've not paid to be in here!' I was absolutely mortified! I replied, I had paid, as just returned from the cafe. She charged away and came back again 5 mins later, 'you've not paid so you'll need to come and pay it!'. Again, she shouted from the door instead of coming over to me. I was mortified! I tried getting my 4 year old to come, and my baby was in the high chair. I lovely woman offered to keep an eye for a couple minutes whilst I ran up. Something I never do, but my anxiety was so bad and I could have died was embarrassment so i rushed away! So basically, you have to pay for the sandpit on the right-hand side when you enter, there is a sign, which I missed when coming in because it was so busy at the door. A misunderstanding! When I arrived to pay at the desk, (i was flapping having had left my kids with strangers, and obv course still mortified by the lack of manners and discretion from this girl), I said I'm here to pay for my child in the sandpit, and the same girl said 'eh is it not 2 children? I replied, 'Well yes it was but it stated online under 1 are free' as I had already asked when I booked. Again, lack of manners and a very bad tone. 👎 after paying for them, I went back to the sandpit and when I went to eat my pavlova, i was filled with deeper disappointment! It was awful 😖 strawberries were not fresh, were soggy, and had dirt on them, which completely put me off eating it (clearly they werent washed) and my coffee had gone cold. I obv didn't bother leaving to go back and Complain after the reception I'd already had so I left it. A very Overpriced unpleasant experience for an hour and a half. I will not be back! And it put me right off booking their pumpkin event which I was going to do that day after seeing it online.
