Discreet efficient service, superbly cooked fresh dishes, amiable setting, can hear each other with soft music, no rush, and gorgeous desserts

First ever visit. Looked like an nice typical pub which leads into a newly built restaurant. We were shown to a table quite close to the Servery area which is open plan. For me it was nice and light, (I suffer with a sight problem) . Great menu that offers food for most tastes. ) The spices used were well applied and the dish was very tasty! We couldn’t manage one of the delicious sweets on offer but the selection was great. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The toilets were upstairs (quite a few!) but we’re clean and modern once you got there. We don’t live locally but as it was Saturday evening it soon filled up which indicates it’s popularity. I saw a nice “bay” at the side which accommodated Private Dining! Nice idea for a party or celebrations.

Asked for a table at the bar. Was ousted as another party had a dog that wasn't allowed in the restaurant area. Promise to make it up to us but didn't. Garlic bread was great. From there on it, it was down hill. Ordered fillet steak. was about 1/2 inch thick, almost cook "well done" and charged 32.00 for each. To add insult to injury, asked for a carribean coffee (same as Irish but with dark rum) and was served a coffee with no rum and topped with an inch of double cream. Paid for quality and received mediocre. paid over 200 quid and didn't even have a bottle of wine! At least the waiter service was good.

1st visit to this refurbished establishment. Heard lots of good and bad reports, so I had to make my own opinions!! From walking in I was pleasantly surprised at the peaceful ambience and welcoming feel. We were given a choice of tables. Our dog was made welcome. Our waitress was efficient and friendly and made us very comfortable. In all a lovely experience, somewhat expensive but all in all not faulted.

Lovely restaurant area at back of what from the outside looks like a small old pub. Food ok but a bit pricey for what it was. Potions small to average in size. Nice vibe and staff very friendly. If the weather is kind there is also a nice outdoor dinning area. Worth a try.

What an amazing dinner tonight! The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful (thank you Will!) I normally hate eating out but this was amazing. I loved the cocktails as well!! The choice for my mum who is gluten free was fantastic.

Great place to catch up with family, served by Charlie who was fantastic. We all loved our food. Special dish lamb was wonderful, Parma ham pizza, fish and chips. All really great dishes :)

Friday night dinner in the bar. Went after work as it had been a long busy week. Husband arrived first and was seated by the guy working behind the bar who also brought his drinks over. Husband ordered for me but as I was running late he asked the server if the order could be pushed back, this was not a problem. When I arrived & sat down the server noticed & acknowledged so that the order could be put through. Water was brought to the table without being prompted & shortly after this the pizzas arrived. Service was perfect, we were well looked after from start to finish & the pizzas were gorgeous & so packed with flavour. Fabulous night with fabulous food & fabulous service, what more could you ask for?

How hard can this be to get right? An overpriced salad of peas, broad beans, feta and rocket, with beetroot falafels: £14! A nest of ageing rocket was plonked on top of the other ingredients (which would have just filled a tablespoon) and I had to ask for oil and vinegar as the salad had no dressing. Falafels were very small, dry and not freshly cooked. The server looked worn out. The menu is too big which usually means a lot of dishes are pre-cooked and warmed over. Won’t be going back.

We went the day after someone had posted about flies and poor service, our experience was totally different, no flies and the service was brilliant friendly and quick and the food was very good verging on outstanding I would fully recommend a visit.

Went for dinner on Sunday evening but after some lovely food left disappointed by the service received and a slightly more concerning issue. Service was slow to begin with but we noticed a staff shift switch so brushed it off, however what we weren’t expecting was to be constantly being attacked by flies during our meal! We mentioned this to our server but he just said nothing can be done about it and left, so after contending with that and then receiving a bill with a 10% service charge I wasn’t in the mood to be generous, especially as it was just for two covers and a infant meal! So I asked for that to be removed and was meant with a blunt questioning of why and stern look by the same server, when I mentioned the flies he just barked back that there was nothing he could do. We ended up leaving our son’s desert as it had made things very awkward. We approached the manager on the way out but he just tried to brush it off as the server wanting feedback? Not with that attitude pal! Overall the food is decent, staff and good hygiene however let this place down.

We spent a very pleasant rainy afternoon here. Our first time visiting and it definitely won't be our last. We were really impressed with lunch. We shared the beetroot falafel flatbread, halloumi fries and harissa roasted cauliflower. All were absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were just right. I'm afraid I don't know their name, but the person who served us was great - attentive and friendly. Main, dessert & drinks came to £30 per head. A little more than your average pub food, but definitely worth it.

It's so good to see the renovation of this public house, it's been totally transformed and is now a nice place to visit. They have a good selection of drinks and a comprehensive menu. A good place for a special occasion
