We were very impressed with this establishment. A warm welcome from the young lady serving us. The food arrived hir and was very tasty. Puddings were superb. The service was excellent. Very good wheelchair accessibility. All in all a very pleasant family lunch. Thank you.

We took mum for her 51st birthday. Plenty of car parking space, greeted by a very lovely and funny gentleman who seemed to be running the restaurant. The staff were polite and great food choice. Food was absolutely delicious including the desert. Which without request they made a happy birthday tray and sang too which was just incredible for mum. They didn’t have to go above and beyond but they did and we are very grateful for what you did. Will definitely be returning in 2025 for food and drinks, what a lovely restaurant!

After hearing the manager from one of our local eateries had recently moved to this restaurant we knew we had to give it a try. We went for a Sunday lunch and weren’t disappointed. Between us we had the beef and chicken and all was lovely. We then finished it off with dessert which was equally nice. Since James (the manager) has left the Dinton Hermit the restaurant has gone down hill in our opinion and we no longer visit. The fact that Jane’s is now the manager of The Grand Junction Arms we know this place is going to be good and we will 100% be visiting again with our family and friends!

We visited here with family we don’t see regularly. My partner booked one of the outdoor pods as they were described on the website as being very popular. This was our first time at the restaurant but we have driven past a lot and it always looks full/nice. Sad to say this was one of the worst experiences eating out we have had. It ruined the afternoon/visit. The blond lady who greeted us and showed the 5 of us to a tiny 4 seat table indoors was quite unwelcoming/ hostile. We explained her mistake and that we had actually booked a pod outside. Another member of staff stepped in and showed us to a pod. The pods are in very poor repair. Damp and cold. The door and both windows were damaged and wouldn’t close properly. There were dead crane flys and spiders/cobwebs everywhere. The heaters are on a timer so regularly go off. The speakers don’t work. When staff open the door to speak with you it gets freezing again. There was food (peas) on the floor. It started to rain and water came spouting in through the broken window. I asked to go inside to be told they were fully booked. I felt so sorry for the young man serving us. He was up and down in the rain and at one point he fell really badly having slipped on the wet grass. The menu doesn’t show calorie information. You have to scan a QR code but the menu it takes you to doesn’t reflect some of the items on the menu in the restaurant. The food took a while to come and my son’s starter which was vegetable sticks from the children’s set menu had two thick black head hairs in it. We sent this back but weren’t offered a replacement. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Luke warm and nothing to write home about. My husband had the burger and chips and said he was still hungry when we left but this could have been because we were waiting 50 minutes for our deserts before telling the manager to forget it as we had been sat in the cold for just over two and a half hours and had only had a main course. The manager discounted the bill due to our complaints but we wanted to give the wonderful young man who served us a big tip as he really was so kind and tried his best. He should not have been made to serve people in the pods in the rain. The pods should be closed out if summer season. Unfortunately the chef glaring at us as we paid meant that we just hurried out. The manager seemed genuinely sorry and embarrassed with what we were unhappy with. The restaurant wasn’t busy. It was nothing short of a shambles really.

Ridiculously long wait for overpriced, badly cooked food. The pub is in a beautiful setting, right by the canal. A lovely place to sit. I gave it a star for that. We ordered a fish finger sandwich with chips on the side, a fish finger sandwich on its own and a separate portion of chips. £29. After waiting 50 minutes I went to see where our lunch was. They then started to make it. Dry bread, the majority of it crust, fish fingers that were on a par with frozen supermarket ones, limp salad and a few (roughly ten) soggy chips. Two lemonades and a lime juice and soda £10. Avoid.

There were 10 of us and sat in the garden,. Been there before and had food in garden, this time we told we could not order food but to have it from the burger van which was on site.. oka y we thought, then sitting behind us were a couple and they had food served to them from from the restaurant. I knew because it came out on plates. Not all of us ate. It just put a bit of a downer on out day out.

I have been here a few times now to be able to give a very honest review and my overall experience has been very disappointing. The premises is lovely, great location, lovely interior however the lack of service, the quality off food is such a let down. My most recent visit on a Friday evening we were seated for food and given menus however we had to approach someone to be seated after 10 minutes of standing around! We’d booked a table for table service however had no table service whatsoever, we ordered all our drinks at the bar, we then asked someone if we could order food he rolled his eyes and said ‘can’t you just order at the bar’ so we did! The food was very average for the price you pay it’s disappointing (we all had fish and chips) we were given no cutlery we had to again get up and ask for this, there was no check backs just a complete lack of service! The only time we were approached was to be told they were doing last orders the lady was very unprofessional with a lolly in her mouth calling us babes and asking ‘what’s the crack then just the bill’ there was a 10% service charge which considering everything we ordered we went to the bar for is completely unacceptable! Once paid she proceeded to say ‘cheers babes love yous’ she made us feel uncomfortable and was so unprofessional. Overall after 3 visits I will not be back! Every time there is a lack of service such a shame after the renovations took so long!

The food was amazing! All 3 of us had fish and chips, generous portions & the fish was cooked perfectly, loved the chunky chips & mushy peas too! Wish I took some photos but completely slipped my mind Our service was outstanding from start to finish, Lauren was on the ball, so polite and knew how to deal with a*sehole customers (table next to us were really sour for no reason at all, just wanted money off the bill) - nevertheless we overheard other nicer people say how impressed they also were with the service they received

It was our wedding anniversary.. Always liked the Grand Junction for its location and ambience beautiful garden right next to the Grand Union Canal.. As it was only a Monday but a beautiful day we thought we would sit in the garden it was about 6pm ish… We both ordered a burger and chips.. So disappointed it was awful! £18 each and the chips were awful too..most of the staff were very polite except one older lady who was very brusque and not a bit customer service freindly, didn’t care that we weren’t satisfied.. We will come back to the Grand Junction but only for a drink..such a shame They definitely need to upgrade their food and chef! Very Poor!

Found this place on way back from Luton Airport to home. Lovely location and looked busy so we stopped for evening meal on a warm summer evening. Sat on the terrace an had a drink and a meal. Excellent service and the food was up to expectations. Will stop here again when up this way.

I did initially email the pub directly but not no reply. My partner and I came over for a few drinks & some food in the lovely garden. I decided to get something from the new food truck, which was the hot dog. It sounded delicious, however I was extremely disappointed to the point I felt it was almost inedible. The menu had specified crispy onions, shallots, American mustard & ketchup. What I received was far from this, 2 barely browned frankfurters, lathered in strong English mustard, no ketchup, with a few spring onions finished with Parmesan. Half of which wasn’t even mentioned on the menu! It felt as if the chef had just decided to throw whatever he wanted on the food. If you know the difference, you will be aware that American mustard and English mustard have two very different flavours and strengths. I feel really disappointed by the experience & that I paid £15 for this. Even more disappointed that as a neighbour of the pub, I received no reply.

We had pre booked a table for a Sunday evening. My friend had a vegan meal which was fine. The rest of us had roasts - one beef, two belly of pork. I had to send mine back as it was cold. My husband said his beef was Luke warm, as was the other pork roast. The beef was not pink in the middle as it should have been and the pork crackling was not crisp. The vegetables were all overcooked. Also the apple sauce and horseradish sauce were missing and we had to request those. Awful quality food at an expensive price.

I have been going here for a while but the food has taken a big nose dive. I may go forthe odd drink because you can't be ripped off with a pint of bee but I certainly won't be eating there again. Look was was given for £25.50. Disgraceful!

We enjoyed a leisurely dinner with family and friends in an oak outdoor pod. Lovely to have space to relax and enjoy the food alongside conversation. Our waiter was upbeat, helpful and friendly even bringing our food with a smile in the rain! Great flavours and good choice to suit all tastes. We will be back!

Booked table for 4 for birthday dinner, after a recomendatio. no greeter to show us where our table was, tried to asked a waitress who was too busy to stop, bingo going on as well as loud music, not a great start, barman showed us table in the end, who was helpful throughout re allegies etc. I had the steak and venison pie which was good, the same couldn't be said of the veg, which appeared to have been left under a heat lamp too long and was rubbery, you could pick the mash up in one lump but what was really disappointing was dogs yapping and barking throughout. why are dogs allowed in restaurant. First visit, won't be returning.
